Gregory University has no separate cut-off mark for Physiotherapy. The university set 140 as its minimum UTME score for all courses in 2024/2025 and 2025/2026, but JAMB’s 2026 minimum for universities is 150, so plan with 150 as the floor. For Physiotherapy I would aim for 190 or more.
2027/2028 update: Gregory University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest notices available: Gregory’s 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 screening notices, read together with JAMB’s 2026 minimum for universities, because no 2026/2027 Gregory notice with a score could be found. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Physiotherapy is on JAMB’s course list for Gregory and the College of Allied Health Sciences lists the department, but I could not confirm its NUC accreditation status, and the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board’s online list of accredited institutions does not include Gregory. That list looks years out of date, with most entries last accredited between 2015 and 2017, and a feature in The Sun claims Gregory’s health programmes are accredited by the board. Ask Gregory for its NUC and MRTB letters before you pay acceptance, and compare ESUT Physiotherapy and SUMAS Physiotherapy.
Gregory University cut-off mark for Physiotherapy: the official figures
| Item | Position for 2027/2028 planning | Source |
|---|---|---|

Cut-off history at Gregory University
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024/2025 | 140 | Gregory minimum for screening, 2023 UTME | Official Gregory news page |
| 2025/2026 | 140 | Gregory minimum for screening, first choice | Reprint of Gregory notice (Myschool) |
| 2026/2027 | Not found | No Gregory notice with a score could be opened | Unconfirmed |
| 2026 (national) | 150 | JAMB minimum for all universities | Official |
The 140 figure is the floor for every course at Gregory, not a figure for one department. Because JAMB fixed 150 as the university minimum for 2026 admissions, I would not plan with 140 any more. Plan for at least 150, and read Gregory’s 2027/2028 notice the day it comes out.
Safe target score for Physiotherapy at Gregory (my advice)
Gregory publishes no admitted scores. Physiotherapy draws candidates who narrowly miss Medicine, so even at a private university the real bar tends to sit well above the minimum. These bands are my judgement.
| Your UTME score | My read for this course at Gregory |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible under JAMB’s 2026 rule |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible; weak for Physiotherapy |
| 170 to 189 | Possible with strong one-sitting credits |
| 190 to 219 | Competitive |
| 220 and above | Strong |
If your score lands below 180, keep a second plan ready. Anatomy and Physiology at Gregory use the same science subjects and can lead to postgraduate study in rehabilitation later.
Gregory Physiotherapy subject combination and O’level requirements
JAMB’s brochure entry for Physiotherapy, reprinted by Myschool, lists Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the UTME. Its remarks name UNILORIN, UNILAG and UI only, so Gregory follows the general rules.
| UTME subject | Status |
|---|---|
| Use of English | Compulsory |
| Physics | Compulsory |
| Chemistry | Compulsory |
| Biology | Compulsory |
O’level rules
| Requirement | What applies at Gregory |
|---|---|
| Brochure rule | Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry |
| Gregory remark in the brochure | None |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (Gregory notice) |
| Sittings | Up to two sittings in Gregory’s general notice; one sitting is safer |
Physics matters more than applicants expect. Biomechanics, exercise therapy and electrotherapy all apply physics to the body.
Direct Entry into Gregory Physiotherapy
The brochure’s Direct Entry rule is two A level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. UI, UNILAG and UNILORIN add degree requirements of their own, but there is no Gregory remark. Gregory runs Direct Entry, JUPEB and IJMB admission, so confirm with its admissions office whether Physiotherapy accepts DE candidates and at what level.
How Gregory University screening works for Physiotherapy
Gregory runs one screening exercise for all its degree courses, and Physiotherapy applicants go through the same portal as everyone else. The details below come from the university’s 2024/2025 news page and the 2025/2026 notice as reprinted by Myschool. I could not find the 2026/2027 notice itself, although news headlines show the university advertised 2026/2027 Post-UTME, Direct Entry, transfer, JUPEB and IJMB admission.
| Detail | What Gregory published |
|---|---|
| Who could apply (2025/2026) | Candidates who scored 140 or more with Gregory University as first choice |
| Where to register | gregoryuniversityuturu.edu.ng/postutme |
| Uploads | Passport photograph (PDF), UTME result slip, O’level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) |
| O’level sittings | Up to two sittings allowed in the general notice |
| Fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable, paid online by ATM card (2025/2026) |
| Written test or interview | Not stated in any notice |
| Other entry routes | Direct Entry, inter-university transfer, JUPEB and IJMB (named in 2026/2027 headlines) |
| Phone lines on the 2024 notice | 0806 094 4681 and 0803 733 3920 |
No Gregory notice mentions a computer-based test, so do not pay anyone selling Gregory “past questions”. My working assumption is that the university ranks applicants on UTME score and O’level grades, then sends offers through JAMB CAPS. If a later notice adds a test or an interview, follow the notice.
Worked example: two Physiotherapy applicants
Gregory has not published an aggregate formula, so this example only compares scores with JAMB’s 150 floor and my target. It is illustrative.
Ifeoma scored 209 in the UTME. She has B3 in English, B2 in Mathematics, B3 in Physics, B3 in Chemistry and A1 in Biology from one WAEC sitting.
- Eligibility: 209 minus 150 = 59. Clear of the national floor, and well clear of Gregory’s old 140.
- Against my target: 209 minus 190 = 19 above the score I call safe.
- O’level check: all five required credits are in place.
- What to do: register on the Gregory portal as soon as it opens and accept the CAPS offer quickly.
Chidera scored 172. He has the five credits over two sittings, with C6 in Mathematics. He is eligible (172 minus 150 = 22) but 18 marks under my target. He should still register, and decide early whether he would take a related course if Gregory offers one through CAPS.
How to apply for Physiotherapy at Gregory University, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with Gregory as first choice: pick Physiotherapy and write Use of English with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The 2025/2026 notice addressed first-choice candidates, so if Gregory is not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. Awaiting result candidates must upload as soon as results are out, because CAPS will not treat you as qualified without them.
- Register on the Gregory portal: at gregoryuniversityuturu.edu.ng/postutme, fill the form and upload your passport (PDF), UTME result and O’level result.
- Pay the screening fee online: ₦2,000 in 2025/2026, by ATM card. Print the receipt and the completed form.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer before you pay anything to the school.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Gregory’s acceptance fee and tuition were not in any official source I reached. Pay only the amount on the invoice the university portal generates.
Warning
Gregory University’s website warns applicants to pay only through its official portals and says it has no admission agents. Real offers appear only on JAMB CAPS, so do not pay anyone who promises a Physiotherapy “slot” or a place on a “departmental list”.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, Gregory included, so anyone who applied this year should keep checking CAPS. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see there.
Studying Physiotherapy at Gregory University
Gregory is a private university at Amaokwe-Achara, Uturu, Abia State, licensed in 2012, according to the university. Physiotherapy is a department in the College of Allied Health Sciences. A feature in The Sun (20 April 2026) lists physiotherapy among the university’s health programmes and says a 1,000-bed teaching hospital at Ezinnachi is nearing completion.
What you study
Gregory’s curriculum was not online in any source I reached. Nigerian physiotherapy degrees usually cover:
- First-year sciences, then anatomy, physiology and biochemistry
- Biomechanics and kinesiology (how the body moves)
- Exercise therapy and electrotherapy
- Physiotherapy in orthopaedics, neurology, cardiorespiratory care and paediatrics
- Clinical postings in hospitals and rehabilitation centres
- Research methods and a final-year project
Degree, duration, accreditation and licensing
Gregory’s degree title is not stated on any page I reached. The Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy has reported that NUC upgraded the Bachelor of Physiotherapy to a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) degree, which is longer than the old five-year bachelor’s, so ask Gregory which degree you would graduate with and how many years it takes. Its line in NUC’s accreditation results, 1990 to 2025 could not be read and no NUC report page for the programme turned up, so its NUC status is not confirmed. Graduates register with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Registration) Board of Nigeria to practise.
Careers

Mistakes that cost Physiotherapy applicants a Gregory place
- Picking Mathematics instead of Biology in the UTME: the combination is Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Planning with 140: the 2026 university floor is 150.
- Not asking about the degree title: BPT and DPT differ in length and cost.
- Skipping screening registration: the university’s portal step is separate from JAMB.
- Paying acceptance before checking accreditation: ask for the NUC and MRTB letters.
