Amadeus University Cut-Off Mark for Accounting 2027/2028: Requirements, Subject Combination and Screening

Accounting at Amadeus University needs at least 150 in the UTME. See the JAMB course name, subject combination, O’level, screening, fees and accreditation status.

The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Accounting in 2027/2028 is 150, which is JAMB’s minimum UTME score for universities. Amadeus has not published a departmental cut-off for Accounting, so 150 is the official floor, and the university adds its own faculty checks and a holistic review on top.

2027/2028 update: Amadeus University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Accounting is on Amadeus’s current programme list as B.Sc. Accounting in the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences. On JAMB, the course name to register is Accountancy / Accounting, which is how JAMB’s brochure and a JAMB-style directory of Amadeus courses list it. JAMB’s own Amadeus course list could not be opened when I checked, so look for that name under Amadeus on the JAMB portal before you pay for registration.

Amadeus was not among the institutions that declared their own cut-offs at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting. Ignore blog posts that put the general Amadeus cut-off at 140: no official source gives that number, and it is below JAMB’s 150 floor for universities.

Safe target score for Accounting at Amadeus (my advice)

My judgement as an admissions adviser, not an Amadeus rule:

Your UTME scoreMy read for Accounting at Amadeus
Below 150Not eligible for any Nigerian university this cycle.
150 to 164Eligible. Realistic with the right subjects, a clean O’level and complete documents.
165 to 179A solid position at a young private university.
180 and aboveComfortable. This is what I would aim for.

Accounting is usually the busiest management course at any Nigerian university, and Amadeus has an Accounting department in a university that is still building its first classes. I would aim for at least 170 in the 2027 UTME, with Mathematics as one of your strong papers.

JAMB subject combination and O’level for Amadeus Accounting

RequirementJAMB brochure (Myschool reprint)Amadeus admission page
UTME subjectsMathematics, Economics plus any Social Science subject (plus Use of English)National minimum plus any faculty requirement
O’levelFive credits including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two other subjectsFive credits including English and Mathematics plus three other relevant subjects (WASSCE, NECO or GCE)
SittingsNot stated on the base lineOne or two sittings (university’s 2025/2026 advert)
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government and GeographyNot described
Remark naming AmadeusNoneNot applicable

For the third UTME subject, Government or Geography are the safest picks because both are plainly Social Science subjects. Many candidates use Commerce or Principles of Accounts instead. Some universities accept that under their own brochure remarks, but none of those remarks names Amadeus, so if you want to sit Commerce or Accounts, ask Amadeus admissions in writing first.

At O’level, Economics is compulsory under JAMB’s line, along with English and Mathematics. Fill the other two places with Financial Accounting, Commerce, Government, Geography or Civic Education. That meets both JAMB’s line and Amadeus’s wording of English, Mathematics and three relevant subjects.

Direct Entry into Accounting at Amadeus

JAMB’s base line takes two A-level passes from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government and Geography. Many universities also accept ND or HND in Accountancy and ICAN or ATS passes through their own remarks, but no remark names Amadeus and its admission page does not mention Direct Entry. Ask admissions@amadeus.edu.ng before you register for Direct Entry with a diploma or a professional certificate.

How Amadeus screens Accounting applicants

Amadeus has not announced a written post-UTME test. Its admission page describes a holistic review that weighs your results first and then character, extracurricular activity and social involvement, with some consideration for candidates from underserved communities. A 2024 write-up mentioned an interview, and a third-party guide says screening is an online document review with a ₦2,000 fee. Those last two details are not on the official page, so confirm them on the portal.

Worked example (illustrative)

Amadeus publishes no aggregate formula, so this example only runs the checks above:

  1. Ngozi: 172 in the UTME with Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and Government; credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Accounting and Commerce in one NECO sitting; Amadeus and Accountancy / Accounting on her JAMB profile.
  2. Her checks: 172 clears 150; Government is a Social Science subject; Economics is among her credits. She applies for Accounting on the portal and uploads all documents. She meets every published condition.
  3. Uche: 181 with Use of English, Mathematics, Commerce and Principles of Accounts, and no Economics in the UTME.
  4. His checks: JAMB’s Accounting line needs Economics in the UTME, and Uche has none. A change of course on JAMB cannot add a subject he did not sit, and Business Administration at Amadeus has the same Mathematics and Economics rule under JAMB’s base line. His realistic fix is to sit the 2027 UTME with Economics in his combination.

How Accounting compares with Amadeus’s other management degrees

Amadeus programmeMain focusTuition (Campusfees, 2026/2027)
AccountingFinancial reporting, audit, tax, cost accounting₦900,000
Business AdministrationManagement, marketing, human resources₦800,000
EconomicsMarkets, policy and data₦1,200,000
EntrepreneurshipStarting and running a businessCheck the fee page
Mass CommunicationJournalism, broadcasting and PRCheck the fee page

All of these start from JAMB’s 150 at Amadeus. Accounting suits you if you want a clear professional route (ICAN or ANAN) after graduation; Business Administration is broader if you are not yet sure.

How to apply for Accounting at Amadeus, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME with Amadeus and the right course: pick Amadeus University, Amizi as your institution and Accountancy / Accounting as the course, with the UTME subjects in the table above. If you already sat the UTME with another school, do a change of institution to Amadeus on JAMB; the university’s own admission page asks every applicant to choose Amadeus through the JAMB portal.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB-accredited centre once your WAEC, NECO or GCE result is out. Amadeus asks for five credits including English Language and Mathematics, and accepts results from one or two sittings.
  4. Apply on the Amadeus portal: create an account at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, choose Accounting, fill the form and upload your documents. The same course must sit on your CAPS profile, or an offer cannot be processed.
  5. Watch for screening or interview contact: Amadeus has not published a written post-UTME test. Keep your phone and email active, because any interview invitation or request for documents comes through them.
  6. Accept on CAPS: when an offer appears, log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. JAMB gave 2026 candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
  7. Pay acceptance and register: third-party fee guides put the Amadeus acceptance fee at ₦200,000. Pay only through the channel on your admission letter or the portal, then print your JAMB admission letter for clearance.

For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities, so Amadeus’s 2026/2027 admissions run until that date at the latest. Amadeus’s home page said admissions were open when I checked on 29 October 2026, but it did not give its own closing date. For 2027/2028, plan around the same pattern: sit the 2027 UTME, keep Amadeus on your JAMB profile and apply on the portal once it reopens.

Before you pay anyone

Free-advert forums carry posts claiming Amadeus “admission lists” and “post-UTME forms” with private phone numbers that do not appear on the university’s website. Apply only at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng and use the contacts on amadeus.edu.ng. JAMB has said any admission done outside CAPS is illegal, so a real offer will always show on your CAPS page.

Official contacts on the Amadeus website: phone +234 708 063 1863, toll-free 0800 123 5100, WhatsApp +234 908 796 6353 and admissions@amadeus.edu.ng. When your CAPS status changes, our JAMB CAPS guide explains what each status means and how to accept.

I could not open the fee page on the Amadeus website, so these figures come from Campusfees (17 September 2026), a third-party fee guide. The acceptance fee, medical insurance, library and ICT, laboratory and accommodation lines match the 2024/2025 schedule that Myschool News published in June 2024, which gives me some confidence in them. Treat the tuition line as a guide, check the official Tuition and Fees page on amadeus.edu.ng before you pay, and remember that feeding, books and transport are extra.

Studying Accounting at Amadeus University

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, not far from Umuahia. NUC licensed it in June 2023, teaching began in September 2024, the inaugural matriculation was held in February 2025, and its founder is Dr Godwin Nwabunka. Its Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta. The admission page now lists 22 programmes across the Faculties of Science and Computing, Allied Health Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy and Law and a College of Medicine.

What you study

  • Early years: principles of accounting, business mathematics, introductory economics, business law basics and general studies courses.
  • Middle years: financial accounting, cost and management accounting, taxation, auditing, company law and accounting software.
  • Final years: advanced financial reporting, public sector accounting, financial management, forensic accounting, an industrial attachment and a research project.
  • Practical skills: preparing financial statements, spreadsheet modelling and working with accounting packages.

That follows the usual Nigerian B.Sc. Accounting structure. Amadeus has not published its own course list, so read the departmental handbook when you resume.

Duration, accreditation and professional exams

A B.Sc. Accounting normally takes four years for UTME entrants; Direct Entry students start at 200 level. Amadeus’s admission page does not state the duration.

I found no NUC accreditation result for Accounting at Amadeus. The university has no entry at all in NUC’s accreditation results for 1990 to 2025, published in September 2026, and no NUC programme report names Amadeus for this course. That is expected for a university that began teaching in September 2024: NUC normally visits a new programme before its first set graduates. So the status is not yet accredited by NUC (not confirmed). The course runs under the university’s NUC licence, and NUC granted Amadeus a full operational licence in September 2026, according to the university’s news page. A full licence is about the university as a whole and is not the same as programme accreditation. I also found no record of ICAN or ANAN exemptions for the Amadeus programme. Those bodies usually look at a programme after NUC does, so ask the department what exemptions it expects and when.

Careers after the degree

  • Audit and tax firms, after or alongside ICAN or ANAN exams
  • Finance and accounts departments of banks, manufacturers and telecoms companies
  • Public sector accounting in ministries, agencies and local governments
  • Fintech, financial analysis and internal control roles
  • Postgraduate study in accounting, finance or business administration

Mistakes that cost Accounting applicants a place

  • No Economics in the UTME: JAMB’s Accounting line needs Mathematics and Economics.
  • No Economics credit at O’level: it is one of the named credits.
  • Assuming Commerce counts: confirm with Amadeus before using it as your third subject.
  • Searching only for “Accounting” on JAMB: the JAMB course name is Accountancy / Accounting.
  • CAPS and portal not matching: pick the same course in both places.
  • Paying an agent: forms are on admissions.amadeus.edu.ng.

Preparing for the 2027 UTME? Start with when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and once results are out, read how to check your JAMB result. If you registered a different school or course, our guides to JAMB change of institution and JAMB change of course explain the fix.
