Amadeus University Computer Engineering Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 & Admission Requirements

Amadeus University has no separate Computer Engineering cut-off, so JAMB’s 150 applies. See the Maths, Physics and Chemistry rule, the Further Mathematics question, N1,900,000 tuition and CAPS steps.

The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Computer Engineering is 150 in the UTME. That is JAMB’s minimum for universities in 2026/2027, and Amadeus University, Amizi has not set a separate figure for Computer Engineering or any other Engineering course. What decides most applications here is the subject list: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the UTME, and an O’level rule in JAMB’s brochure that names Further Mathematics.

2027/2028 update: Amadeus University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Computer Engineering is a B.Eng. course in the Amadeus Faculty of Engineering, next to Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Below you will find the official figures, a safe target score (my advice, clearly labelled), the JAMB combination, the Further Mathematics question, Direct Entry, fees, selection and the CAPS steps, plus what is known about accreditation.

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. It was founded by Dr Godwin Nwabunka, who chairs the board of Grooming Centre, received its NUC licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023) and held its inaugural matriculation in February 2025. Its Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta.

Computer Engineering is on Amadeus’s own programme list as B.Eng. Computer Engineering. It is also in the list of 19 Amadeus course names that follows JAMB’s naming (universitycourses.ng, updated February 2026). I could not open JAMB’s own Amadeus list directly, so confirm the course appears under Amadeus when you register, and do not confuse it with Computer Engineering Technology, which is a polytechnic course.

The Vice-Chancellor gave scores only for Medicine (200 and above) and Pharmacy (180) when the 2025/2026 intake was open. No other Amadeus course has a published figure. Computer Engineering students are part of a young faculty, with the first set admitted in 2025.

Safe target score for Computer Engineering at Amadeus (my advice)

Computer Engineering is popular with science students who want a technology career, and public universities usually set it well above their general cut-off. Amadeus has a smaller pool, but I would still leave room above 150. These bands are my reading, not Amadeus policy.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Amadeus Computer Engineering
Below 150Not eligible for any Amadeus degree course
150 to 174Eligible; your science credits carry a lot of weight
175 to 199Good chance
200 and aboveStrong, and worth asking about merit scholarships

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 180 or more. That also keeps Computer Science and Software Engineering open at Amadeus if you change your mind, since they use Mathematics and Physics too.

Register Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. A few universities accept another science in their own remarks, but Amadeus has none, so keep to the standard set.

Do you need Further Mathematics for Computer Engineering at Amadeus?

JAMB’s general O’level rule for Computer Engineering names Further Mathematics among the five credits. Many universities relax that in their own remarks: some let any science subject replace it, and others ask for English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science. Amadeus has no remark, and its own admission page only says five credits including English and Mathematics plus relevant subjects. So:

  • If you have a Further Mathematics credit, you meet the strictest version of the rule.
  • If you do not, your fifth credit is likely to be Biology or another science, which most universities accept. Email admissions@amadeus.edu.ng and ask whether Further Mathematics is compulsory before you register.
  • English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry credits are required in every version of the rule.

Direct Entry into Computer Engineering

JAMB’s general Direct Entry rule asks for three A-level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Other universities add ND and HND routes in their remarks, often an upper credit in Computer or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, but Amadeus lists none and its website does not cover Direct Entry. Ask the admissions office in writing before registering for Direct Entry with JAMB.

How Amadeus selects Computer Engineering candidates

Amadeus has not published a post-UTME test, screening date or form fee for Computer Engineering. Its admission overview says selection weighs academic results together with character, extracurricular activities and social involvement. A 2024 admission blog said applicants are interviewed and must be at least 16 when the course starts, but the university’s own page does not repeat either point, so confirm with the admissions office.

An interviewer for Computer Engineering may ask what draws you to the course. A simple project helps: a small program you wrote, a circuit kit you built, or a coding class you completed. Revise Mathematics and Physics too, along with the topics in our JAMB Chemistry syllabus guide.

Worked example (illustrative only)

Amadeus publishes no aggregate formula, so this example checks eligibility against the rules above and my target of 180.

  1. Chinonso: UTME 187 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; credits in English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. He meets even the strictest version of JAMB’s O’level rule.
  2. Uchenna: UTME 194, same UTME subjects, but Biology in place of Further Mathematics. She meets the rule most universities apply; she should get Amadeus to confirm that Biology is accepted.
  3. Ebuka: UTME 210 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Biology. His score is the best, but without Chemistry in the UTME he does not meet JAMB’s rule for Computer Engineering at Amadeus.

Amadeus University Computer Engineering school fees

Amadeus publishes its fees on its own tuition and fees page. The page does not print a session heading, but it lists Law as starting in 2026/2027, so it is the current schedule. All amounts are per session. Computer Engineering is charged N1,900,000 in tuition.

ItemAmountWho pays
Computer Engineering tuitionN1,900,000Every session
Acceptance fee (non-refundable)N200,000New students, once
Medical insuranceN85,000Listed under other fees
Library and ICTN120,000Listed under other fees
Laboratory and workshopsN50,000Listed under other fees
Hostel, two-person roomN900,000Per bed space, if you live on campus
Hostel, four-person roomN550,000Per bed space, limited allocation

Add tuition, acceptance and the three other fees and a new Computer Engineering student needs about N2,355,000 before accommodation. With a four-person room the first year comes to about N2,905,000, and with a two-person room about N3,255,000. Books, feeding and transport are extra. Amadeus does not say on that page whether fees can be paid in instalments, so ask the bursary before you plan. Computer Engineering students should also plan for a personal laptop and SIWES costs in later years.

The acceptance fee, the three other fees and the N900,000 two-person room were the same in the 2024/2025 schedule Myschool reported in June 2024, so these charges have held steady since the first intake.

Scholarships at Amadeus

The Sun (20 November 2025) reported three schemes linked to the founder: the Dr Godwin Nwabunka Foundation scholarship (tuition, service charges and accommodation for students from low-income homes), Grooming Centre awards (full scholarships for children of its active clients and tuition-only awards for children of its staff), and Grooming Endowment Trust awards for academically strong Nigerian undergraduates. Ask the admissions office whether each one is open in your year and how to apply.

How to apply for Computer Engineering at Amadeus University, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space, then your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the UTME: pick Amadeus University, Amizi and the course Computer Engineering, with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. If you wrote another school first, use a JAMB change of institution before admission closes.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre, enter your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. Amadeus cannot offer you a place on CAPS without them.
  4. Apply on the Amadeus portal: create an account at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, choose Computer Engineering, fill the form, upload your result and keep your printout.
  5. Attend selection: Amadeus says it looks at your results together with character, extracurricular activities and background. Ask the admissions office whether there is an interview or test for your intake and when it holds.
  6. Accept on CAPS: on efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. In 2026 JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept an offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear: the acceptance fee on the current schedule is N200,000. Pay only through channels on the admission portal or the official fees page, then bring your original documents for clearance.

For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities (NAN, 11 May 2026). Amadeus is private, so that date governed 2026/2027 offers. JAMB also says any admission done outside CAPS is illegal.

Warning

Forum and classified sites carry posts saying the Amadeus 2026/2027 form or admission list is out, each with a different private phone number. Amadeus applications run only through admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, its listed lines are +234 708 063 1863 and the toll-free 0800 123 5100, and a real offer always shows on JAMB CAPS. Never pay an agent for a place.

Studying Computer Engineering at Amadeus University

The degree is a B.Eng. in the Faculty of Engineering. Amadeus does not state the length on its programme page; B.Eng. programmes in Nigeria normally run five years, including SIWES industrial training.

Is Amadeus Computer Engineering accredited?

Not confirmed. NUC’s consolidated Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025, published in September 2026, contains no Amadeus entry, and I found no COREN accreditation record for Amadeus engineering. An encyclopaedia page claims COREN approval but cites no source. Since the first Amadeus students arrived in 2025, accreditation visits are still ahead. Ask the faculty for its NUC approval letter and when it expects COREN to visit.

What you will study

Amadeus has not posted a course outline. Computer Engineering degrees in Nigeria usually include:

  • Engineering foundations: engineering mathematics, physics, engineering drawing and workshop practice.
  • Electronics: circuit theory, analogue and digital electronics, and logic design.
  • Computer hardware: computer architecture, microprocessors, microcontrollers and embedded systems.
  • Software: programming, data structures, operating systems and software engineering.
  • Networks and control: data communication, computer networks, control systems and signal processing.
  • Practice: laboratory work, SIWES and a final-year design project.

Graduates work as embedded systems and hardware engineers, network and telecoms engineers, software developers, IT infrastructure and cloud engineers, and in robotics and automation. COREN registration as an engineer comes after graduation and approved experience.

Mistakes Computer Engineering applicants make

  • Leaving out Chemistry in the UTME: Amadeus has no remark that allows a substitute.
  • Assuming Further Mathematics does not matter: JAMB’s general rule names it, so get Amadeus’s answer in writing if you lack it.
  • Choosing Computer Engineering Technology: that is a polytechnic course name, not the Amadeus B.Eng.
  • Treating 150 as admission: it only makes you eligible to be considered.
  • Paying an agent: Amadeus admits through its own portal and JAMB CAPS.
