The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Mass Communication is 150 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s minimum for universities in 2026/2027. Amadeus University, Amizi has published no higher figure for Mass Communication. Its admission page says your score must meet the national minimum and the faculty’s requirements, and the faculty has not released a number, so 150 is the floor you plan from.
2027/2028 update: Amadeus University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Mass Communication is one of five B.Sc. courses in the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at Amadeus. This guide covers the official position, a safe target score (my advice, clearly labelled), the subject combination that satisfies both of JAMB’s Mass Communication entries, O’level and Direct Entry, the current fees, how Amadeus selects students and every CAPS step.

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. It was founded by Dr Godwin Nwabunka, who chairs the board of Grooming Centre, received its NUC licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023) and held its inaugural matriculation in February 2025. Its Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta.
Mass Communication is on Amadeus’s own programme list as B.Sc. Mass Communication, and it is in the list of 19 course names that follows JAMB’s naming (universitycourses.ng, updated February 2026). I could not open JAMB’s own Amadeus list directly, so when you choose Amadeus on the JAMB portal, confirm that Mass Communication shows under it before you pay.
Amadeus Mass Communication cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official: JAMB 2026 policy meeting |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | JAMB 2025 policy meeting |
| 2025/2026 | 200 and 180 | Amadeus figures for MBBS and Pharmacy only | The Sun, 20 November 2025 |
| Any session | None | An Amadeus cut-off for Mass Communication alone | Never published in any source I reached |
When the 2025/2026 intake was open, the Vice-Chancellor named scores for Medicine (200 and above) and Pharmacy (180), and said 19 other courses were open as well. He gave no figure for those 19, Mass Communication included. If a website quotes an “Amadeus Mass Communication cut-off” above 150, ask where it came from.
Safe target score for Mass Communication at Amadeus (my advice)
Mass Communication draws large numbers of Arts and Social Science candidates across Nigeria. Amadeus is small and new, so competition there is lighter than at federal universities, but the course is still popular. These bands are my own reading; Amadeus has not published them.
| Your UTME score | My read for Amadeus Mass Communication |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any Amadeus degree course |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible; your subjects, O’level and an early application matter most |
| 170 to 194 | Good chance |
| 195 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 170 or more. Many state universities ask for more than 150 for Mass Communication, so the same score protects you if Amadeus is not your only option.
JAMB subject combination and O’level for Amadeus Mass Communication
JAMB’s brochure has two Mass Communication entries, and they differ. One sits under Social and Management Sciences, the other under Administration. Neither carries a remark for Amadeus, so the safest choice is a combination that satisfies both.
| Requirement | Social and Management Sciences entry | Administration entry |
|---|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Any three Arts or Social Science subjects | Literature in English, Economics and Government |
| O’level | Five credits: English and four Arts or Social Science subjects | English, Literature in English and Government, with a pass in Mathematics |
| Direct Entry | Two A-level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects | Two A-level passes in Literature, Economics or Government |
| Amadeus remark | None | None |
Register Use of English, Literature in English, Government and Economics. That set meets the stricter Administration entry and also counts as three Arts or Social Science subjects under the other one. Swapping Economics for CRS or History would still satisfy the first entry, but not the second.
For O’level, Amadeus is stricter than JAMB on one point. Its admission page asks every applicant for five credits including Mathematics and English, so a pass in Mathematics is not enough here even though one JAMB entry accepts it. A safe set is credits in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, Government and Economics or CRS, from no more than two sittings.
Direct Entry into Mass Communication at Amadeus
JAMB’s two entries accept two A-level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects, with the Administration entry naming Literature, Economics or Government. Amadeus’s own pages say nothing about Direct Entry, ND or HND holders, or JUPEB. If you plan to come in with an ND in Mass Communication, email admissions@amadeus.edu.ng and get the answer in writing before you register for Direct Entry with JAMB.
How Amadeus selects Mass Communication candidates
Amadeus has not published a post-UTME test, screening date or form fee for Mass Communication. Its admission overview says it considers academic results together with character, extracurricular activities and social involvement, and it welcomes applicants from underserved communities. A 2024 admission blog said applicants are interviewed and must be 16 or older when the course starts. Amadeus’s own page does not repeat either point, so confirm them with the admissions office.
If there is an interview, Mass Communication is the course where it helps most to show you follow the news. Be ready to talk about a story you read this week, a radio or TV programme you like and why, and any writing, school press club or social media work you have done.
Worked example (illustrative only)
Amadeus publishes no aggregate formula, so this example checks each candidate against the rules above and my target of 170.
- Adaeze: UTME 176 with English, Literature, Government and Economics; credits in English, Mathematics, Literature, Government and CRS at one sitting. She meets both JAMB entries and Amadeus’s Mathematics rule.
- Emeka: UTME 189 with English, CRS, History and Government. He fits the Social and Management Sciences entry, but not the Administration one. He should confirm which entry Amadeus follows before relying on it.
- Ngozi: UTME 201, but a D7 in Mathematics. Her score is the highest of the three, yet Amadeus asks every applicant for a Mathematics credit, so she needs to fix that first.
Amadeus University Mass Communication school fees
Amadeus publishes its fees on its own tuition and fees page. The page does not print a session heading, but it lists Law as starting in 2026/2027, so it is the current schedule. All amounts are per session. Mass Communication is charged N1,150,000 in tuition.
| Item | Amount | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Mass Communication tuition | N1,150,000 | Every session |
| Acceptance fee (non-refundable) | N200,000 | New students, once |
| Medical insurance | N85,000 | Listed under other fees |
| Library and ICT | N120,000 | Listed under other fees |
| Laboratory and workshops | N50,000 | Listed under other fees |
| Hostel, two-person room | N900,000 | Per bed space, if you live on campus |
| Hostel, four-person room | N550,000 | Per bed space, limited allocation |
Add tuition, acceptance and the three other fees and a new Mass Communication student needs about N1,605,000 before accommodation. With a four-person room the first year comes to about N2,155,000, and with a two-person room about N2,505,000. Books, feeding and transport are extra. Amadeus does not say on that page whether fees can be paid in instalments, so ask the bursary before you plan.
The acceptance fee, the three other fees and the N900,000 two-person room were the same in the 2024/2025 schedule Myschool reported in June 2024, so these charges have held steady since the first intake.
Scholarships at Amadeus
The Sun (20 November 2025) reported three schemes linked to the founder: the Dr Godwin Nwabunka Foundation scholarship (tuition, service charges and accommodation for students from low-income homes), Grooming Centre awards (full scholarships for children of its active clients and tuition-only awards for children of its staff), and Grooming Endowment Trust awards for academically strong Nigerian undergraduates. Ask the admissions office whether each one is open in your year and how to apply.
How to apply for Mass Communication at Amadeus University, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space, then your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick Amadeus University, Amizi and the course Mass Communication, with Use of English, Literature in English, Government and Economics. If you wrote another school first, use a JAMB change of institution before admission closes.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre, enter your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. Amadeus cannot offer you a place on CAPS without them.
- Apply on the Amadeus portal: create an account at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, choose Mass Communication, fill the form, upload your result and keep your printout.
- Attend selection: Amadeus says it looks at your results together with character, extracurricular activities and background. Ask the admissions office whether there is an interview or test for your intake and when it holds.
- Accept on CAPS: on efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. In 2026 JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept an offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the acceptance fee on the current schedule is N200,000. Pay only through channels on the admission portal or the official fees page, then bring your original documents for clearance.
For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities (NAN, 11 May 2026). Amadeus is private, so that date governed 2026/2027 offers. JAMB also says any admission done outside CAPS is illegal.
Warning
Forum and classified sites carry posts saying the Amadeus 2026/2027 form or admission list is out, each with a different private phone number. Amadeus applications run only through admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, its listed lines are +234 708 063 1863 and the toll-free 0800 123 5100, and a real offer always shows on JAMB CAPS. Never pay an agent for a place.
Studying Mass Communication at Amadeus University
The degree is listed as B.Sc. Mass Communication in the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences. Amadeus does not state the length; a B.Sc. in this field normally runs four years, or three through Direct Entry.
NUC’s newer curriculum (CCMAS) split Mass Communication into several separate degrees, such as Journalism and Media Studies, Public Relations, Advertising and Broadcasting. Amadeus still lists a single B.Sc. Mass Communication, so ask the department which title your certificate will carry and whether you choose a specialisation later.
Is Amadeus Mass Communication accredited?
Not confirmed. NUC’s consolidated list of accreditation results up to 2025, published in September 2026, has no Amadeus entry, and I found no NUC report for this course. That is expected for a university whose first students arrived in 2025, since NUC normally accredits a programme as its first set nears final year. Ask the department to show you its NUC approval letter before you pay.
What you will study
Amadeus has not posted a course outline. Mass Communication degrees in Nigeria usually include:
- Foundations: introduction to mass communication, communication theory and media history.
- Journalism: news writing and reporting, feature writing, editing and data journalism.
- Broadcasting: radio and television production, presentation and scriptwriting.
- Strategic communication: public relations, advertising and marketing communication.
- New media: online journalism, social media management and digital content production.
- Law, ethics and research: media law and ethics, research methods, an industrial attachment and a final-year project.
Amadeus describes itself as a practically oriented university with an entrepreneurial culture and a Computer Based Technology Centre. For a media student, ask during admission whether there is a campus radio, studio or student newspaper you can work on from 100 level.
Graduates become reporters and editors, broadcasters and producers, PR and corporate communication officers, advertising and digital media staff, content creators, and information officers in government and NGOs.

Mistakes Mass Communication applicants make
- Copying another school’s combination: JAMB has two Mass Communication entries with different subjects.
- A pass in Mathematics: Amadeus asks every applicant for a Mathematics credit.
- Leaving out Literature in English: the stricter JAMB entry names it in both the UTME and O’level.
- Treating 150 as admission: it only makes you eligible to be considered.
- Paying an agent: Amadeus admits through admissions.amadeus.edu.ng and JAMB CAPS only.
