The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering is 150 in the UTME, JAMB’s minimum for every university in 2026/2027. Amadeus University, Amizi has not published a higher figure for Engineering. Its admission page says scores must meet the national minimum and faculty requirements, so 150 is the floor, and the subject rules (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) are what most candidates should check first.
2027/2028 update: Amadeus University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of two B.Eng. courses in the Amadeus Faculty of Engineering, alongside Computer Engineering, and it is the most expensive course in its faculty. This guide gives the official position, a safe target score (my advice, clearly labelled), the JAMB combination, O’level and Direct Entry rules, fees, selection, CAPS steps and what is known about accreditation.

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. It was founded by Dr Godwin Nwabunka, who chairs the board of Grooming Centre, received its NUC licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023) and held its inaugural matriculation in February 2025. Its Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta.
Amadeus names the course slightly differently in different places: “B.Eng. Electrical and Electronic Engineering” on its faculties page and “Electrical and Electronics Engineering” on its fees page. JAMB’s course name is Electrical / Electronics Engineering, and it appears in the list of 19 Amadeus course names that follows JAMB’s naming (universitycourses.ng, updated February 2026). I could not open JAMB’s own Amadeus list directly, so confirm the course shows under Amadeus when you register.
Amadeus Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official: JAMB 2026 policy meeting |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | JAMB 2025 policy meeting |
| 2025/2026 | 200 and 180 | Amadeus figures for MBBS and Pharmacy only | The Sun, 20 November 2025 |
| Any session | None | An Amadeus cut-off for Engineering | Never published in any source I reached |
Amadeus has only named course-level scores for Medicine (200 and above) and Pharmacy (180), when the Vice-Chancellor spoke about the 2025/2026 intake. Engineering has no published figure. That leaves the national 150 as the only official number for this course.
Safe target score for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Amadeus (my advice)
Engineering is a high-demand course in Nigeria, and federal and state universities often set it well above their general cut-off. Amadeus is new and private, so its pool is smaller, but I would still plan for a solid margin. These bands are my own reading, not Amadeus policy.
| Your UTME score | My read for Amadeus Electrical and Electronics Engineering |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any Amadeus degree course |
| 150 to 174 | Eligible; your Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics credits carry a lot of weight |
| 175 to 199 | Good chance |
| 200 and above | Strong, and worth asking about merit scholarships |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 180 or more. That score also keeps you competitive for Engineering at state universities in the South East, which is useful if Amadeus is your second plan.
JAMB subject combination and O’level for Amadeus Electrical and Electronics Engineering
| Requirement | What applies | Source |
|---|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | JAMB brochure |
| O’level credits | English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject | JAMB brochure |
| Number of credits | Five | JAMB brochure and Amadeus admission page |
| Sittings | One or two | Examkits report of the Amadeus 2025/2026 notice |
| Direct Entry | Two A-level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry | JAMB brochure |
| Amadeus remark in the JAMB brochure | None | Myschool reprint of the brochure |
Your UTME combination is fixed: Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Some universities accept Biology or another science in place of Chemistry in their own remarks, but Amadeus has no remark, so do not gamble on a different combination.
For O’level, the fifth credit can be Biology, Further Mathematics, Agricultural Science or Technical Drawing. Further Mathematics or Technical Drawing is a sensible choice if you have it, because several engineering faculties treat them as an advantage. A credit in all of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry is non-negotiable.
Direct Entry into Electrical and Electronics Engineering
JAMB’s general Direct Entry rule is two A-level passes from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Many universities add ND or HND routes (often an upper credit in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology) in their own remarks, but Amadeus has none in the brochure and its website does not describe Direct Entry. If you hold an ND, ask admissions@amadeus.edu.ng whether it is accepted, and at what level, before you register.
How Amadeus selects Engineering candidates
Amadeus has not published a post-UTME test, screening date or form fee for Engineering. Its admission overview says selection considers academic performance alongside character, extracurricular activities and social involvement. A 2024 admission blog added that applicants are interviewed and must be 16 or older when the course starts; the university’s own page does not repeat either point, so ask the admissions office to confirm.
If there is a test or interview, expect it to lean on Mathematics and Physics. Revising algebra, trigonometry, electricity and magnetism is a sensible use of the weeks before it, and our JAMB Chemistry syllabus guide covers the third UTME subject.
Worked example (illustrative only)
Amadeus publishes no aggregate formula, so this example checks eligibility against the rules above and my target of 180.
- Kelechi: UTME 192 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Further Mathematics at one sitting. He clears every rule and sits 12 marks above my target.
- Amaka: UTME 205 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Biology. Her score is higher, but Chemistry is missing from her UTME, so she does not meet JAMB’s rule for this course at Amadeus.
- Tochukwu: UTME 163, right subjects, all five credits over two sittings. He is eligible but below my target, so an early application and a strong interview matter more for him.
Amadeus University Electrical and Electronics Engineering school fees
Amadeus publishes its fees on its own tuition and fees page. The page does not print a session heading, but it lists Law as starting in 2026/2027, so it is the current schedule. All amounts are per session. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is charged N2,160,000 in tuition.
| Item | Amount | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical and Electronics Engineering tuition | N2,160,000 | Every session |
| Acceptance fee (non-refundable) | N200,000 | New students, once |
| Medical insurance | N85,000 | Listed under other fees |
| Library and ICT | N120,000 | Listed under other fees |
| Laboratory and workshops | N50,000 | Listed under other fees |
| Hostel, two-person room | N900,000 | Per bed space, if you live on campus |
| Hostel, four-person room | N550,000 | Per bed space, limited allocation |
Add tuition, acceptance and the three other fees and a new Electrical and Electronics Engineering student needs about N2,615,000 before accommodation. With a four-person room the first year comes to about N3,165,000, and with a two-person room about N3,515,000. Books, feeding and transport are extra. Amadeus does not say on that page whether fees can be paid in instalments, so ask the bursary before you plan. Engineering students should also budget for drawing instruments, a scientific calculator and SIWES expenses later in the programme.
The acceptance fee, the three other fees and the N900,000 two-person room were the same in the 2024/2025 schedule Myschool reported in June 2024, so these charges have held steady since the first intake.
Scholarships at Amadeus
The Sun (20 November 2025) reported three schemes linked to the founder: the Dr Godwin Nwabunka Foundation scholarship (tuition, service charges and accommodation for students from low-income homes), Grooming Centre awards (full scholarships for children of its active clients and tuition-only awards for children of its staff), and Grooming Endowment Trust awards for academically strong Nigerian undergraduates. Ask the admissions office whether each one is open in your year and how to apply.
How to apply for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Amadeus University, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space, then your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick Amadeus University, Amizi and the course Electrical / Electronics Engineering, with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. If you wrote another school first, use a JAMB change of institution before admission closes.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre, enter your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. Amadeus cannot offer you a place on CAPS without them.
- Apply on the Amadeus portal: create an account at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, choose Electrical and Electronics Engineering, fill the form, upload your result and keep your printout.
- Attend selection: Amadeus says it looks at your results together with character, extracurricular activities and background. Ask the admissions office whether there is an interview or test for your intake and when it holds.
- Accept on CAPS: on efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. In 2026 JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept an offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the acceptance fee on the current schedule is N200,000. Pay only through channels on the admission portal or the official fees page, then bring your original documents for clearance.
For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities (NAN, 11 May 2026). Amadeus is private, so that date governed 2026/2027 offers. JAMB also says any admission done outside CAPS is illegal.
Warning
Forum and classified sites carry posts saying the Amadeus 2026/2027 form or admission list is out, each with a different private phone number. Amadeus applications run only through admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, its listed lines are +234 708 063 1863 and the toll-free 0800 123 5100, and a real offer always shows on JAMB CAPS. Never pay an agent for a place.
Studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Amadeus University
The degree is a B.Eng. in the Faculty of Engineering. Amadeus does not state the length; B.Eng. programmes in Nigeria normally run five years from 100 level, including industrial training (SIWES).
Is Amadeus Electrical and Electronics Engineering accredited?
Not confirmed. Two bodies matter for engineering. The NUC accredits the degree, and its consolidated Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 (published September 2026) has no Amadeus entry. COREN, the engineering regulator, accredits programmes so that graduates can register as engineers; I found no COREN record for Amadeus. One encyclopaedia page says COREN has approved Amadeus engineering, but it cites no source. A new university whose first students came in 2025 would normally face its first NUC and COREN visits as the pioneer set nears its later years. Ask the faculty for its NUC approval letter and its plan for COREN accreditation.
What you will study
Amadeus has not posted a course outline. Electrical and Electronics Engineering degrees in Nigeria usually include:
- Basic sciences and engineering: engineering mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering drawing and workshop practice.
- Circuits: circuit theory, electrical measurements and electronic devices.
- Power: electrical machines, power systems, power electronics and protection.
- Electronics and communication: analogue and digital electronics, signals and systems, telecommunications.
- Control and computing: control engineering, microprocessors, embedded systems and programming.
- Practice: laboratory work, SIWES industrial training and a final-year design project.
Graduates work in power generation and distribution companies, telecoms, oil and gas, manufacturing, building services, renewable energy and solar installation, and electronics design. Registration with COREN as an engineer comes after graduation and professional experience.

Mistakes Engineering applicants make
- Writing Biology instead of Chemistry: Amadeus has no remark that allows it.
- A weak Physics or Chemistry grade: all four core O’level credits are required.
- Picking the wrong JAMB name: look for Electrical / Electronics Engineering under Amadeus, not the Engineering Technology courses meant for polytechnics.
- Treating 150 as admission: it only makes you eligible to be considered.
- Underestimating cost: tuition alone is N2,160,000 a session on the current schedule.
