The FUAHSE Occupational Therapy cut off mark is 180 in the UTME. The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) put Occupational Therapy at 180 on its official 2026/2027 UTME admission cut-off list. That is 50 marks lower than Physiotherapy (230) in the same faculty.
2027/2028 update: FUAHSE cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Occupational Therapy is new at FUAHSE: it was not among the 16 courses advertised for 2025/2026, and it first appears on the 2026/2027 list in the Faculty of Rehabilitative Health. It leads to a regulated profession, controlled by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB). The open questions are the course’s own NUC approval, the degree name and how it shows on JAMB’s list for FUAHSE. Here is what is known and what I would do.
Where FUAHSE Occupational Therapy stands right now
| Check | What I found | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| FUAHSE’s own 2026/2027 list | Listed at 180 | Admission is open |
| NUC approval | Not named in the May 2026 statement on 11 newly approved programmes | Ask FUAHSE to confirm before you pay acceptance |
| Regulator | MRTB regulates Occupational Therapy (MRTB mandate page) | Graduates need MRTB registration to practise |
| MRTB approval of FUAHSE’s programme | No public record found | Expected for a course in its first year; ask about the plan |
| JAMB course list for FUAHSE | Not confirmed | Check the course appears under FUAHSE when you register |
| Degree name and length | Not published | Ask the department |
If any of these is a dealbreaker, the established degree option is the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, which describes itself as the first full-fledged Occupational Therapy department in Nigeria and runs a five-year programme. Inside FUAHSE, Physiotherapy (230), Prosthetics and Orthotics (200) and Speech Therapy (170) are the other MRTB professions on offer.
FUAHSE Occupational Therapy cut off mark and history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 180 | Occupational Therapy admission cut-off | Official FUAHSE e-portal |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | Minimum UTME score to fill the screening form | Myschool report of the 2026/2027 exercise |
| 2025/2026 | None | Occupational Therapy was not among the 16 courses FUAHSE advertised | Studentship reprint, 18 July 2025 |
With one year of figures, there is no trend yet. I expect 180 to hold for 2027/2028. Occupational Therapy is not well known among Nigerian candidates, so first-choice demand is modest, but candidates who miss Physiotherapy at 230 are an obvious pool for it.
All FUAHSE cut-off marks for 2026/2027
| 2026/2027 cut-off | FUAHSE courses (names as on the e-portal) |
|---|---|
| 260 | Nursing Science |
| 240 | Radiography |
| 230 | Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy |
| 200 | Public Health, Dental Technology, Dental Therapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical and Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Social Work, Biotechnology, Alternative and Complementary Medicine |
| 180 | Health Care Management, Occupational Therapy, Parasitology and Entomology, Water Hygiene and Sanitation |
| 170 | Speech Therapy, Community Health, Health Information |
| 150 | Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology |
Safe target score for Occupational Therapy at FUAHSE (my advice)
| Your UTME score | My read for FUAHSE Occupational Therapy |
|---|---|
| Below 180 | Not eligible; Speech Therapy (170) is the nearest rehabilitation course |
| 180 to 189 | Eligible, but close to the line |
| 190 to 209 | Competitive |
| 210 and above | Strong |
I would aim for at least 195, ideally 200. Physiotherapy applicants who score between 180 and 229 could be offered Occupational Therapy, and if FUAHSE does that, they will compete with you for the same seats. FUAHSE hasn’t published how it handles course changes, so this is my judgement.
Catchment and quota
FUAHSE has not published a catchment list or quota. Plan on merit.
Occupational Therapy subject combination and O’level
| Requirement | Occupational Therapy (JAMB general entry) |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (FUAHSE has not published a different list) |
| Direct Entry (JAMB) | Three A’level passes including Chemistry, Biology or Zoology, and Physics |
| Direct Entry (FUAHSE 2026/2027 notice) | ND, HND or a first degree plus relevant O’level credits |
These come from JAMB’s brochure entry for Occupational Therapy (Myschool reprint, checked 30 October 2026), which has no institution remarks and no FUAHSE entry. There is no choice in the UTME: all three sciences are required, so don’t swap Physics for Mathematics or Agricultural Science.
Course name to pick on JAMB: JAMB’s brochure lists this course as Occupational Therapy, and FUAHSE’s cut-off page calls it Occupational Therapy. I could not open JAMB’s own list of FUAHSE courses (the Myschool reprint would not load for me), so I can’t confirm exactly how the course appears under FUAHSE. FUAHSE’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME form took JAMB registration numbers and the course is on its official cut-off list, which tells you admission runs through JAMB. At registration, ask the centre to show FUAHSE’s course options on screen and pick the matching one. Don’t settle for a similar-looking course at another school.

Worked example
FUAHSE hasn’t published an aggregate formula, so check your margin over 180 and your O’level.
Somto scored 204 with English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. She wanted Physiotherapy (230) but is realistic about her score. Her NECO has credits in all five required subjects from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 204 minus 180 = 24 marks above the Occupational Therapy cut-off, but 26 below Physiotherapy.
- Against my target: 204 is competitive for Occupational Therapy.
- O’level check: complete.
- My advice: apply for Occupational Therapy directly instead of hoping to be moved from Physiotherapy. Both lead to MRTB registration.
How to apply for Occupational Therapy at FUAHSE, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: choose FUAHSE and Occupational Therapy, with Use of English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. If FUAHSE was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before its screening form opens.
- Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre, early. Universities read your grades from CAPS.
- Fill the FUAHSE screening form: go to eportal.fuahse.edu.ng and open the Post-UTME application form for the session. UTME candidates enter their JAMB registration number; Direct Entry candidates start with a phone number. Blogs reported a fee of ₦2,000 for 2026/2027; the portal invoice is what counts.
- Print your slip and watch for updates: FUAHSE has not published whether it holds a test, so keep checking the portal and the official admissions page after you submit.
- Check your status: use FUAHSE’s admission status page and JAMB CAPS. An offer is only real once it appears on CAPS.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. JAMB gives candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
- Pay acceptance and clear: FUAHSE has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the FUAHSE e-portal, and keep every receipt for clearance.
Warning
FUAHSE’s admissions page warns that fake admission information about the university is circulating on Facebook. Its official channels are fuahse.edu.ng/admissions and the e-portal at eportal.fuahse.edu.ng, and every genuine offer also shows on JAMB CAPS. Nobody can sell you a place, so don’t pay anyone who promises one.
FUAHSE is a federal university, so its 2026/2027 admissions fall under the window JAMB set for public universities, which ended on 31 October 2026 (News Agency of Nigeria, 11 May 2026). That date has now passed. I found no report of when FUAHSE uploaded its 2026/2027 list. If you applied this year, check CAPS and FUAHSE’s status page, and read our JAMB CAPS guide to understand each status.
Studying Occupational Therapy at FUAHSE
Occupational therapists help people do the everyday things that matter to them (dressing, eating, working, going to school) after illness, injury, disability or mental health problems. The course is in FUAHSE’s Faculty of Rehabilitative Health with Physiotherapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics and Speech Therapy. FUAHSE has not published the degree title or duration. At the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, the programme runs for five years: one of basic science, two preclinical and two clinical.
Is FUAHSE Occupational Therapy approved?
- March 2024: the Federal Government approved the upgrade of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Trans-Ekulu, into FUAHSE.
- October 2024: an NUC team began checking 18 of the 22 programmes FUAHSE’s Senate had approved for take-off in 2024/2025, using NUC’s Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards as the yardstick (The Sun, 31 October 2024).
- December 2024: FUAHSE announced NUC approval for its first 16 degree programmes (Journalist101 and Vanguard, 19 December 2024). Occupational Therapy was not one of them, and it was not in the 2025/2026 intake either.
- May 2026: the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Emaimo, said NUC approval now covered 27 programmes: the original 16 plus 11 newer ones, naming Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering among them. He spoke ahead of the university’s second matriculation (The Sun, 9 May 2026).
FUAHSE’s 2026/2027 cut-off page has 12 courses that were not in the 16 it advertised for 2025/2026, while the Vice-Chancellor spoke of 11 newly approved programmes. So at least one of the 12 new courses is not covered by that statement, and the university has not said which. Occupational Therapy was not one of the three programmes he named. It may be among the other eight, but I can’t confirm that. Ask the department for the NUC approval letter or a written confirmation before you pay acceptance.
MRTB and your licence
The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Registration) Board of Nigeria, set up by Decree 38 of 1988, regulates Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Clinical Audiology, Osteopathic Medicine, Chiropractic Medicine and Prosthetics and Orthotics (MRTB mandate page). MRTB publishes academic accreditation guidelines for Occupational Therapy. I found no MRTB record naming FUAHSE’s programme, which is normal for a course with only first-year students. You will need MRTB registration and a licence to practise, so the programme’s MRTB accreditation matters before you graduate. Ask FUAHSE when it expects the MRTB visit.
What you study
FUAHSE has not published its curriculum. Occupational Therapy degrees generally cover:
- Basic sciences: biology, chemistry, physics and general studies in the first year.
- Preclinical: human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, psychology and the theory of occupation.
- Clinical areas: paediatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, mental health, community and vocational rehabilitation.
- Practical skills: activity analysis, splinting, assistive devices and home or workplace adaptation.
- Clinical postings: supervised work in hospitals and rehabilitation centres, then a research project.
Careers
After MRTB registration and internship, occupational therapists work in teaching hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, orthopaedic and rehabilitation centres, special schools and private practice.

Mistakes that cost Occupational Therapy applicants a FUAHSE place
- Leaving out Physics: JAMB’s entry requires Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
- Applying for Physiotherapy with 200 and hoping: apply for the course your score fits.
- Accepting without asking about approval: get the NUC and MRTB position in writing.
- Uploading O’level late: CAPS needs your results before FUAHSE can propose you.
- Paying agents: FUAHSE has warned about fake admission information on Facebook.
If FUAHSE wasn’t your first choice, read how to change institution on JAMB.

The 2026/2027 course cut-offs come from FUAHSE’s e-portal page 2026-2027 UTME Admission Cutoff Mark, read on 30 October 2026. The 150 minimum, the 8 June to 19 August 2026 window and the Direct Entry entry routes come from Myschool (4 June 2026); the ₦2,000 fee is from AbsTechConnect (June 2026) and is unofficial. FUAHSE’s official channels and the Facebook warning are on its admissions page; its July 2025 warning against admission racketeering was reported by Myschool. The national minimum of 150, the 31 October 2026 deadline for public universities and the four-week CAPS acceptance window come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). The programme approval history comes from The Sun (31 October 2024), Journalist101 (19 December 2024) and The Sun (9 May 2026). UTME, O’level and Direct Entry rules are from JAMB’s brochure entry for Occupational Therapy as reprinted by Myschool, with no FUAHSE remark. MRTB’s professions and founding law are from its mandate page. The five-year structure and “first full-fledged” description are from the UNIMED department page.
