FCE Eha-Amufu has no UTME cut-off mark for Biology Education (NCE) under the current rules. Since the Federal Government and JAMB’s policy meeting of 11 May 2026, NCE candidates with at least four O’level credit passes do not sit the UTME. You register with JAMB through its special NCE registration, Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu recommends you, and JAMB confirms the offer on CAPS. The last numeric minimum was 100, JAMB’s national figure for colleges of education in 2025/2026, and the college has never published a separate figure for Biology Education.
2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and the NCE entry process usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the details on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notices (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.
Biology at FCE Eha-Amufu is taken as half of a two-subject NCE. The combinations reported for the college are Biology/Integrated Science and Computer Education/Biology. Below are the O’level credits I would want for each, JAMB’s NCE registration with its fees, how the college selects, a worked example, and what the course leads to.

Biology Education at FCE Eha-Amufu: cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | No UTME score required | UTME exemption for NCE candidates with four credits | Official national policy |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum UTME score for colleges of education | Official national figure |
| Older years (blogs) | 100, or “110 and above” | Figures blogs print for the whole college | Unofficial; not tied to any college notice |
None of these is a Biology figure. Blogs that print “FCE Eha-Amufu cut off mark for Biology” are repeating a college-wide number from older years. For 2026/2027 the deciding factor is your O’level, and the college has not published how many Biology places it has.
O’level requirements for Biology Education (NCE)
The national minimum is four credit passes. FCE Eha-Amufu’s own advert, as reprinted by o3schools in January 2026 (I could not reach it on a college page), asks for four credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, with two of the credits relevant to your chosen course. Here is how I would read that for each combination in this group:
| Combination | Credits I would make sure you have (my advice) |
|---|---|
| Biology/Integrated Science | English, Mathematics, Biology, plus at least one of Chemistry, Physics or Agricultural Science |
| Computer Education/Biology | English, Mathematics, Biology, plus Computer Studies (Data Processing) or another science |
Biology is the subject you cannot do without here. A candidate with credits in English, Mathematics, Civic Education and Economics has four credits, but none of them supports a Biology pairing, so the college has little reason to place that candidate in Biology. The college has not published any waiver for English or Mathematics.
Safe target in place of a cut-off
This is consultant advice, not a college rule. With no UTME score to beat, the strength of your O’level in the course subjects is what separates you from other applicants.
| Your O’level | My read for Biology Education at Eha-Amufu |
|---|---|
| Fewer than four credits, or English/Mathematics missing | Not eligible this year; resit or ask the college about its Pre-NCE programme |
| Four credits with Biology but no second science | Eligible; possible for Biology/Integrated Science, weaker for Computer Education/Biology |
| Five credits incl. Biology and Chemistry, one sitting | Solid |
| Biology at B3 or better, plus Chemistry and Physics or Agric credits, one sitting | Strong; this is what I would aim for |
UTME subjects, if you write the UTME anyway
You do not need the UTME for NCE. If you also want to keep a university option and sit the UTME, JAMB’s brochure entry for Education and Biology at universities lists Biology plus two of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics (Myschool reprint of the JAMB brochure). Check the current e-brochure before you register, and remember JAMB processes you for one mode of entry at a time.
Direct Entry
There is no Direct Entry into the NCE itself. JAMB’s June 2026 guideline also stopped admission at 100 or 200 level into any college of education except through the NCE, and ended admissions into affiliated degree programmes in colleges of education, which includes Eha-Amufu’s UNN-affiliated B.Ed. After the NCE, Direct Entry runs the other way: you can use the NCE to apply for a degree at a university.
How to apply for Biology Education at FCE Eha-Amufu
These steps follow JAMB’s 2026/2027 NCE and ND registration flow. FCE Eha-Amufu has a JAMB registration centre (IPRC) on campus, so you can register there or at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre.
- Get an O’level verification code: buy it from your exam body’s verification site. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two, and the two sittings can be from different exam bodies (WAEC and NECO, for example).
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Create or open your e-Facility account: use the profile code at efacility.jamb.gov.ng if you do not already have a profile.
- Register for NCE at a CBT centre, PRC or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, present your verification code, choose your NCE course (Biology/Integrated Science or Computer Education/Biology) and pick three Colleges of Education. Put Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as your first choice, because your registration goes to your first-choice college.
- Upload your O’level results: the centre uploads them and captures your photograph and fingerprints. If your results are not out, mark Awaiting Results and upload them as soon as they are released. The college cannot recommend you until they are uploaded.
- Do the college’s own screening if it calls for one: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its 2026/2027 screening notice in any source I could reach. Watch the college’s announcements and pay any form fee only through the college portal.
- College recommends you on CAPS: the Admission Officer proposes you and the Provost recommends you to JAMB’s CAPS, which then checks your O’level against the exam body’s records.
- Accept the offer on CAPS and print your admission letter: log in to e-Facility, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept quickly; JAMB withdraws offers not accepted within four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and school charges, then clear: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its acceptance fee officially. One blog quotes ₦5,000 through Remita; treat that as unconfirmed and pay only after generating an invoice on the college’s own portal.
JAMB fees for NCE registration
| What you pay | Amount | Paid where |
|---|---|---|
| O’level verification code (one sitting) | ₦1,500 | Exam body’s verification site (WAEC: buyresultsverificationcode.waeconline.org.ng) |
| O’level verification code (two sittings) | ₦2,000 | Either exam body’s platform |
| JAMB NCE application fee (new applicants) | ₦3,500 | JAMB portal, at a CBT centre or the college’s IPRC |
| CBT/IPRC registration charge | ₦700 | Same centre |
| 2026 UTME candidates converting to NCE | ₦700 only (no ₦3,500) | Same centre |
Warning
Every genuine FCE Eha-Amufu admission shows on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. Do not pay anyone who promises an NCE place. Pay JAMB fees on the JAMB portal at a registration centre, and college fees only through an invoice from the college’s own portal.
The college’s screening
JAMB’s flow leaves the choice of candidates to the college: its Admission Officer proposes and the Provost recommends you on CAPS. FCE Eha-Amufu has not published how it screens for 2026/2027. Blog reprints of earlier notices describe an online form: create a profile on the college portal, pay through a Remita invoice, upload a passport photograph, enter your JAMB and O’level details and date of birth, then print the acknowledgement. No fee or dates were given. One blog quotes a ₦5,000 acceptance fee, which is unconfirmed. Blogs name fceehaamufu.com and fceehaamufu.edu.ng as the college’s sites; I could not confirm either.
Worked example
This is an illustration of how the published rules apply. FCE Eha-Amufu has not published a scoring formula, so there is no aggregate to compute.
Chidinma wants Biology/Integrated Science. Her NECO 2026: English C5, Mathematics C6, Biology B3, Agricultural Science B2, Chemistry D7, Civic Education C4, Economics C6.
- Credits: English, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Civic Education and Economics. Six credits, above the four needed.
- English and Mathematics: both credits. She meets the college’s advert condition.
- Course subjects: Biology (B3) and Agricultural Science (B2) support Biology/Integrated Science. Her D7 in Chemistry would be a weak point for a chemistry pairing, which she is not choosing.
- JAMB-side cost: ₦1,500 verification (one sitting) + ₦3,500 + ₦700 = ₦5,700.
If Chidinma had sat the 2026 UTME with a college of education as first choice, JAMB would already have moved her record to that college. She would pay only ₦1,500 for the code and ₦700 to update, a total of ₦2,200.
Admission chances and advice
- Pick the pairing your second science supports: Biology with Agric or Chemistry credits suits Biology/Integrated Science; Computer Education/Biology makes more sense if you have Computer Studies.
- Register early: the college can only recommend candidates whose registration and O’level have reached it.
- Upload results quickly: Awaiting Results candidates cannot be recommended until results are on JAMB’s system.
- Check CAPS often: an offer not accepted within four weeks is withdrawn.
- Keep a second and third choice: JAMB asks for three colleges of education; use the other two well in case Eha-Amufu does not pick you.
Studying Biology Education at FCE Eha-Amufu
NCE Biology trains you to teach Biology and Basic Science in basic education schools. You take Biology alongside your second subject (Integrated Science or Computer Education), plus general education courses and supervised teaching practice. The outline below follows the usual NCE pattern; FCE Eha-Amufu’s own course handbook was not available to check.
What you study
- Biology content: cell biology, genetics, plant and animal diversity, ecology, physiology and practical laboratory work.
- Second subject: Integrated Science (physics, chemistry and earth science basics taught together) or computer education.
- Education courses: child development, educational psychology, curriculum and methods of teaching Biology.
- Teaching practice: a placement in a school where you teach under supervision.
- General studies: use of English and other compulsory general courses.
Accreditation
The NCCE list of accredited colleges shows Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu (Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State) as a federal college with status “open”. The list does not show each combination’s accreditation, so the status of Biology Education specifically is not confirmed. A bill to upgrade the college to a Federal University of Education has passed second reading in the House of Representatives (Voice of Nigeria); it remains a college of education for now.
Careers and next steps
- Teaching: the NCE is the minimum qualification for teaching in Nigerian basic education, so Biology NCE holders mostly teach Basic Science and Biology in junior secondary and primary schools.
- A degree: JAMB’s brochure lists NCE as a Direct Entry qualification for Education and Biology at universities, so you can move on to a B.Ed or B.Sc.(Ed) in Biology.
- Other work: school laboratory work, science outreach, private tutoring and exam coaching.

FCE Eha-Amufu Biology Education: frequently asked questions
Do I need JAMB score for Biology NCE at FCE Eha-Amufu? No UTME score is needed if you have at least four O’level credits. You still register with JAMB through its NCE registration and accept your offer on CAPS.
Can I study Biology Education at Eha-Amufu without Chemistry? The college asks for two credits relevant to your course, so Biology with Agricultural Science can work for Biology/Integrated Science. A second science credit makes your case stronger, and Chemistry is the most useful one.
How much is JAMB NCE form for Biology Education? JAMB charges ₦3,500 plus a ₦700 centre charge, and the O’level verification code costs ₦1,500 for one sitting or ₦2,000 for two. Candidates who sat the 2026 UTME and are converting pay only the ₦700 charge plus the code.
Can I use two sittings for NCE Biology at FCE Eha-Amufu? Yes. The college’s advert as reprinted by blogs allows up to two sittings, and JAMB’s verification code covers two sittings for ₦2,000, even from different exam bodies.
