FUAHSE Cut-Off Mark for Physiotherapy 2027/2028: Requirements, Subject Combination and Screening

FUAHSE set 230 as the cut-off mark for Physiotherapy (DPT). See the official list, a safe target score, UTME subjects, O’level and Direct Entry rules, screening, CAPS steps and MRTB status.

The FUAHSE cut off mark for Physiotherapy is 230 in the UTME. The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) set that figure on its official 2026/2027 UTME admission cut-off list, the same as Medical Laboratory Science and behind Nursing Science (260) and Radiography (240).

2027/2028 update: FUAHSE cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Physiotherapy is FUAHSE’s top course in the Faculty of Rehabilitative Health, and its 2025/2026 admission notice listed the award as DPT, the Doctor of Physiotherapy. This guide gives you the official figures, my safe target score, the subjects JAMB lists, how screening ran, a worked example, the CAPS steps, and what the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB) and the NUC have and haven’t said about the programme.

FUAHSE put Physiotherapy on its first intake list in 2025/2026 but published only the general 150 that year. The 2026/2027 figure of 230 is the first course-level mark, so it is the number to plan with.

All FUAHSE cut-off marks for 2026/2027

260Nursing Science

230Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy

180Health Care Management, Occupational Therapy, Parasitology and Entomology, Water Hygiene and Sanitation
170Speech Therapy, Community Health, Health Information
150Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology

Inside the Faculty of Rehabilitative Health, Physiotherapy (230) is well above Prosthetics and Orthotics (200), Occupational Therapy (180) and Speech Therapy (170). If rehabilitation is what draws you and your score falls short, those three are the closest alternatives at FUAHSE.

Safe target score for Physiotherapy at FUAHSE (my advice)

FUAHSE does not publish the last admitted score. The table is my judgement.

Your UTME scoreMy read for FUAHSE Physiotherapy
Below 230Not eligible for Physiotherapy at FUAHSE; consider Prosthetics and Orthotics (200)
230 to 239Eligible, near the line
240 to 254Competitive with good O’level grades
255 and aboveStrong

For the 2027 UTME, I would aim for at least 245, ideally 255. Physiotherapy draws a lot of Medicine hopefuls, and at FUAHSE it shares its cut-off with MLS, so expect a crowded pool around 230 to 245.

Catchment and quota

FUAHSE has not published a catchment list or a Physiotherapy quota. Plan on merit.

UTME subject combination and O’level for FUAHSE Physiotherapy

RequirementPhysiotherapy
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (FUAHSE has not published a different list)
SittingsNot stated by FUAHSE; one sitting is safer
Direct Entry (FUAHSE notice)ND, HND or first degree plus relevant O’level credits
Direct Entry (JAMB brochure, general)Two A’level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry and Biology

These are the general rules in JAMB’s brochure entry for Physiotherapy (Myschool reprint, checked 30 October 2026). The only special remarks there are for UNILORIN, UNILAG and UI; there is nothing for FUAHSE.

Course name to pick on JAMB: JAMB’s brochure lists this course as Physiotherapy, and FUAHSE’s cut-off page calls it Physiotherapy. I could not open JAMB’s own list of FUAHSE courses (the Myschool reprint would not load for me), so I can’t confirm exactly how the course appears under FUAHSE. FUAHSE’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME form took JAMB registration numbers and the course is on its official cut-off list, which tells you admission runs through JAMB. At registration, ask the centre to show FUAHSE’s course options on screen and pick the matching one. Don’t settle for a similar-looking course at another school.

On Direct Entry: JAMB’s general entry is built around A’level, while FUAHSE’s notice mentioned ND, HND and first degrees. A first degree in a basic medical science is a common route into Physiotherapy elsewhere, but FUAHSE has not said how it treats one. Confirm with admissions before you pay.

Worked example for a Physiotherapy candidate

Without a published aggregate formula, compare your score with the cut-off and my safe target.

Tobenna scored 242 with B2 in English, B3 in Mathematics, B3 in Physics, B2 in Chemistry and A1 in Biology from one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 242 minus 230 = 12. He clears the Physiotherapy cut-off by 12 marks.
  2. Against my safe target: 245 minus 242 = 3. He is 3 marks below the range I call competitive.
  3. O’level check: five relevant credits, one sitting; the A1 in Biology helps.
  4. My advice: keep Physiotherapy, and take an offer of Prosthetics and Orthotics on CAPS seriously if one comes.

Chidinma scored 215. 215 minus 230 = minus 15. Physiotherapy is out, but Prosthetics and Orthotics (200) is still open to her in the same faculty.

How to apply for Physiotherapy at FUAHSE, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the UTME: choose FUAHSE and Physiotherapy, with Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If FUAHSE was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before its screening form opens.
  3. Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre, early. Universities read your grades from CAPS.
  4. Fill the FUAHSE screening form: go to eportal.fuahse.edu.ng and open the Post-UTME application form for the session. UTME candidates enter their JAMB registration number; Direct Entry candidates start with a phone number. Blogs reported a fee of ₦2,000 for 2026/2027; the portal invoice is what counts.
  5. Print your slip and watch for updates: FUAHSE has not published whether it holds a test, so keep checking the portal and the official admissions page after you submit.
  6. Check your status: use FUAHSE’s admission status page and JAMB CAPS. An offer is only real once it appears on CAPS.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. JAMB gives candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear: FUAHSE has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the FUAHSE e-portal, and keep every receipt for clearance.

Warning

FUAHSE’s admissions page warns that fake admission information about the university is circulating on Facebook. Its official channels are fuahse.edu.ng/admissions and the e-portal at eportal.fuahse.edu.ng, and every genuine offer also shows on JAMB CAPS. Nobody can sell you a place, so don’t pay anyone who promises one.

FUAHSE is a federal university, so its 2026/2027 admissions fall under the date JAMB set for public universities: 31 October 2026 (News Agency of Nigeria, 11 May 2026). I found no report of when FUAHSE uploaded its 2026/2027 list. If you applied this year, check CAPS and FUAHSE’s status page, and read our JAMB CAPS guide to understand each status.

Studying Physiotherapy at FUAHSE

Physiotherapy is in FUAHSE’s Faculty of Rehabilitative Health with Prosthetics and Orthotics and Speech Therapy. The faculty page describes physiotherapy training as restoring movement and physical function. The 2025/2026 admission reprint gives the award as DPT; in Nigeria, Doctor of Physiotherapy programmes commonly run for six years, but FUAHSE has not published its own duration.

Is FUAHSE Physiotherapy accredited?

  • March 2024: the Federal Government approved the upgrade of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Trans-Ekulu, into FUAHSE. The university’s own site gives 14 March 2024 as its founding date.
  • October 2024: an NUC team began checking 18 of the 22 programmes FUAHSE’s Senate had approved for take-off in 2024/2025, using NUC’s Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards as the yardstick (The Sun, 31 October 2024).
  • December 2024: FUAHSE announced NUC approval for its first 16 degree programmes, and Physiotherapy (listed as Medical Rehabilitation Therapy, Physiotherapy) was on that list (Journalist101 and Vanguard, 19 December 2024).
  • May 2026: the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Emaimo, said NUC approval now covered 27 programmes: the original 16 plus 11 newer ones such as Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering. He spoke ahead of the university’s second matriculation (The Sun, 9 May 2026).

NUC approval lets FUAHSE run the programme. I found no NUC accreditation report for FUAHSE Physiotherapy, which fits a programme whose first students are still in the early years. I also found no public record of MRTB recognition. The MRTB registers physiotherapists in Nigeria, so ask the department about its MRTB status before you accept.

What you study

  • Early years: basic sciences, then anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
  • Core physiotherapy: exercise therapy, electrotherapy, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiopulmonary physiotherapy.
  • Clinical training: supervised postings in hospital physiotherapy departments.
  • After graduation: MRTB registration and internship, then hospital, sports, community rehabilitation or private practice.

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus, then read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and what to do with your JAMB score if you are planning a fresh attempt in 2027.

Mistakes that cost Physiotherapy applicants a FUAHSE place

  • Planning around 150: it only opened the form; Physiotherapy needs 230.
  • Leaving out Physics: JAMB’s Physiotherapy entry lists Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • O’level not on CAPS: upload it before screening.
  • Rejecting a related offer too quickly: Prosthetics and Orthotics and the other rehabilitation courses are real careers.
  • Paying touts: FUAHSE has warned against admission racketeering and fake Facebook posts.

If FUAHSE wasn’t your first choice, see our guide to JAMB change of institution.
