The Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off mark for Public Health Technology is 100 in the UTME. In its 2026/2027 admission advert, Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi asked every National Diploma (ND) applicant for a UTME score of “100 and above”, which matches JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics. The school has not published a separate cut-off for Public Health Technology.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Public Health Technology is one of the newer courses on the school’s list, and it raises two questions most candidates miss: which UTME subjects JAMB will accept for it, and whether the programme is already accredited. I cover both below, along with a safe target score (marked as my advice), the O’level rules, screening, a worked example and the CAPS steps.

Fed Poly Isuochi Public Health Technology cut-off mark history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | “Score of 100 and above” for every ND programme in the school’s advert | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2024/2025 | 100 | The Rector invited 2024 UTME candidates with 100 or above to apply | Reported by The Mirror, 2 February 2025 |
| Any year | None | A Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off for Public Health Technology alone | Never published in any source I found |
Public Health Technology does not appear in the list of accredited courses The Mirror reported in February 2025, and it shows up in the 2026/2027 advert. That suggests the course is newer than the school’s first six, although the school has not said when it started. Either way, there is no merit list or departmental figure to quote. The only official number is 100.
Safe target score for Public Health Technology (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. The polytechnic has not released the scores of candidates it admitted.
| Your UTME score | My read for Public Health Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 129 | Eligible. Health courses attract candidates who missed nursing, so this band carries some risk |
| 130 to 159 | Reasonable, especially with credits in Biology and Chemistry on CAPS |
| 160 and above | Strong position |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 140. Health-related ND courses tend to fill with candidates who wanted nursing or medical laboratory science and did not get in, so I would not treat this as a low-demand course even though the school is new. Again, that is my reading, not a published figure.
Does state of origin matter?
Federal polytechnics normally admit under federal guidelines that consider merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its catchment list or quota split, so aim to get in on merit.
Public Health Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
On 29 October 2026 I could not find a separate “Public Health Technology” entry in JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool. Its health sciences list has Community Health, Health Information Management, Epidemiology and Disease Control and similar courses, and its environmental list has Environmental Health Technology, but no Public Health Technology. So check how JAMB lists the Fed Poly Isuochi course on the e-brochure or at your CBT centre before you choose subjects.
| Requirement | What I found | Status |
|---|---|---|
| O’level rule in the Fed Poly Isuochi advert | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, two sittings at most | Official |
| O’level rule in NBTE’s national ND Public Health Technology curriculum (March 2021) | Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry and Physics, in not more than two sittings | National curriculum, not a Fed Poly Isuochi notice |
| UTME subjects under JAMB’s nearest entry, Environmental Health Technology | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | JAMB polytechnic brochure (Myschool reprint) |
| Another JAMB pattern for health technology courses | Use of English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics (one college’s remark on the same page) | JAMB polytechnic brochure (Myschool reprint) |
| Fed Poly Isuochi remark in the JAMB brochure | None found | Checked 29 October 2026 |
| Upload of O’level | Compulsory on the JAMB portal (CAPS) | Official (advert) |
My advice on subjects: in the UTME, write Chemistry and Physics plus either Biology or Mathematics, depending on what the e-brochure shows for the course at Fed Poly Isuochi. Chemistry and Physics appear in both patterns above. If the e-brochure maps the course to Environmental Health Technology, you need Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
For O’level, I would treat NBTE’s five as the safe standard: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The school’s advert only names English and Mathematics, but a department that follows the national curriculum will look for the sciences, and Physics is the one public health applicants most often forget.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. Admission to Public Health Technology goes through the UTME and JAMB CAPS. Fed Poly Isuochi’s 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so there is no HND in this course at the school yet. The advert also lists a Basic Studies programme, but gives no entry rules, so ask the Admission Unit if you are still fixing your O’level.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Public Health Technology
The 2026/2027 advert is the only official screening document I found. It sets the rules and the fee, and leaves out the test, the closing date and the ranking method.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 advert says |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who sat the UTME and scored 100 and above |
| O’level | At least five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
| Where to apply | Online at fedpis.edu.ng |
| Form fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable |
| O’level on the JAMB portal | Upload is mandatory |
| Enquiries | Admission Unit, Nkwoagu Temporary Site; registrar@fedpis.edu.ng; 07034376858 or 07034200093 |
| Screening test | Not mentioned |
| Closing date | Not stated |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
If the school announces a test, prepare for English, Mathematics and basic Biology and Chemistry. Public health work leans on biology (disease, sanitation, nutrition) and simple chemistry (water treatment, disinfectants), so those are sensible topics to revise.
Worked example for a Public Health Technology applicant
With no published aggregate formula, the practical check is your distance above the 100 minimum and above a safe target. Take Amarachi, who scored 147 with credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics from one NECO sitting.
- Eligibility: 147 minus 100 = 47. She is well clear of the school’s line.
- Against my safe target: 147 minus 140 = 7. She is inside the band I would be happy with.
- UTME subjects: English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. That fits the health technology pattern, so before registering she confirms on the e-brochure that JAMB accepts it for this course at Fed Poly Isuochi.
- O’level: her five credits match both the advert and NBTE’s national list. Nothing rules her out once the results are on CAPS.
To show how a blended ranking can work at polytechnics that use one: divide the UTME score by 8 to get a mark out of 50 and add a screening mark out of 50. Amarachi’s 147 gives 18.38, and a screening mark of 31 would put her at 49.38 out of 100. A candidate on 112 with the same screening mark would have 45. This is an illustration only. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published a formula.
Your chances of getting Public Health Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
- A UTME score of 140 or more with science credits on CAPS puts you in a good position.
- Getting the UTME subjects right matters more here than for most courses, because the brochure listing is unclear.
- The course was not on the February 2025 accredited list. Ask the department about its current NBTE status before you pay school fees.
- Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline, which was 31 December 2026 for 2026/2027, so keep checking CAPS.
If the school offers you Science Laboratory Technology instead, it is worth a serious look. SLT is on the accredited list, uses the same science background, and a laboratory route can still lead into health work.
How to apply for Public Health Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with the profile code you take to the registration centre.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: confirm on the JAMB e-brochure how Public Health Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi is listed, then write Use of English with the three science subjects it requires. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi (Abia State) and read the name twice on the screen before you confirm.
- Fix your choices early: If Fed Poly Isuochi or Public Health Technology was not on your registration, correct it. Use a JAMB change of institution or a JAMB change of course before the polytechnic starts admitting.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB accredited centre with your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. The school’s advert says the upload is mandatory, and CAPS cannot move your name forward without it.
- Buy the school form: go to fedpis.edu.ng, create an account, pay the ₦2,000 form fee (the 2026/2027 amount) and fill in your details. Print the payment receipt and the completed form.
- Follow screening news: the advert did not mention a test, so check the portal and the school’s official announcements. If a test or document check is announced, take your UTME result slip, O’level results and portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status you may see.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the school has not published its acceptance fee or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only through the school portal, print the receipts and complete clearance at the Admission Unit.
Warning
Every genuine Fed Poly Isuochi admission shows on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, so ignore anyone selling a “special list” slot, and make school payments only through the official portal.
If you have not registered for the next UTME yet, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. After the exam, see how to check your JAMB result and what to do with the score.
Studying Public Health Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Sun reported in March 2024 that the school was set up in 2022 and that a temporary site had been handed over while the permanent site was built. The Rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023, and the Admission Unit currently sits at the Nkwoagu Temporary Site. Public Health Technology is one of the five ND courses in the School of Science and Industrial Technology, alongside Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Statistics and Animal Health and Production Technology.
What you study
- Environmental sanitation, waste management and water supply
- Communicable and non-communicable diseases, epidemiology basics and disease control
- Food hygiene, meat and market inspection, and nutrition
- Vector and pest control
- Health education, community health work and basic health statistics
- Biology, chemistry and microbiology for health workers
- Communication in English and the general studies courses every ND student takes
This list describes what ND public health technology programmes in Nigeria typically cover. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own course outline.
Duration, accreditation and licensing
NBTE’s national ND curriculum for Public Health Technology runs for two years and includes a short industrial attachment (SIWES). The same curriculum ties the programme to the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON), whose exam leads to a temporary licence as a public health technician. Whether Fed Poly Isuochi’s course follows this curriculum and has EHORECON approval is not confirmed.
On NBTE accreditation, The Mirror’s list of the school’s accredited courses (2 February 2025) did not include Public Health Technology, and the same article said the school would pursue approval for more courses. I found no later report naming it. Ask the department, or check with the NBTE, whether the course now has accreditation or interim approval before you pay school fees.
Careers after the ND
- Public health or environmental health assistant in local government health departments
- Sanitation, water and hygiene projects run by NGOs and development agencies
- Food safety and hygiene roles in hotels, food factories and markets
- HND study, then a degree in Public Health or Environmental Health

Mistakes that cost Public Health Technology applicants a place
- Guessing the UTME subjects: the brochure listing is unclear, so check the e-brochure before you register.
- Skipping Physics at O’level: NBTE’s national curriculum lists it among the five credits.
- Assuming the course is accredited: it was not on the 2025 list. Ask first.
- Three O’level sittings: the advert allows two at most.
- No O’level on CAPS: the advert makes the upload mandatory.
- Mixing up schools: Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is not Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and it is not the private Iheachukwu Madubuike Institute of Technology in the same LGA.
Fed Poly Isuochi Public Health Technology cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
What JAMB subjects do I need for Public Health Technology in Fed Poly Isuochi? JAMB’s brochure on Myschool has no separate entry under that name, so confirm on the e-brochure. Chemistry and Physics plus Biology or Mathematics is the safest plan, and if JAMB lists it as Environmental Health Technology you need Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Is 120 enough for Public Health Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi? It is enough to apply, since the school asks for 100 and above. For a comfortable chance in a health course I would aim for 140 or more.
Is Fed Poly Isuochi Public Health Technology accredited? It was not among the NBTE-accredited courses reported in February 2025, and I found no later confirmation. Ask the department or the NBTE before paying school fees.
How much is the Fed Poly Isuochi admission form? The 2026/2027 form cost ₦2,000, non-refundable, paid online at fedpis.edu.ng. Check the portal for the 2027/2028 price before you pay.
