The Fed Poly Isuochi Statistics cut-off mark is 100 in the UTME. Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi asked for a UTME score of “100 and above” for all its National Diploma (ND) courses in the 2026/2027 admission advert, which is the same as JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. No separate departmental cut-off for ND Statistics has been published.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
So 100 gets you through the door, and the rest of this page is about getting picked. Below you will find the cut-off history, a safe target score (marked as my advice), the subject combination with the one part JAMB’s pages would not confirm, what the school has said about screening, a worked example and the CAPS steps.

Fed Poly Isuochi Statistics cut-off mark history

|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | “Score of 100 and above” for every ND programme in the school’s advert | Official |

| Any year | None | A Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off for Statistics alone | Never published in any source I found |
Since the school started admitting, every published bar has been JAMB’s 100, and the polytechnic has never released a merit list, departmental cut-off or aggregate score for Statistics. I also saw one blog post about the 2026/2027 form that called the school “Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro”. That is a different school in Ogun State, so ignore anything that mixes the two up.
Safe target score for Statistics at Fed Poly Isuochi (my advice)
The table below is my reading as an admissions adviser. The polytechnic has not said what scores its admitted Statistics students had.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Statistics at Fed Poly Isuochi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible. Statistics rarely draws crowds, so this can work if your O’level is clean |
| 120 to 149 | Good position for this course |
| 150 and above | Very safe. You could also compete for Computer Science if you prefer it |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 130. Statistics is one of the less crowded science courses in most Nigerian polytechnics, and Fed Poly Isuochi is still young, so the pressure on seats is likely lower than for Computer Science or Accountancy. That is an informed guess, not something the school has published. A score of 130 or more gives you room if more people apply than expected.
Does where you come from matter?
Federal polytechnics usually admit under federal guidelines that weigh merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own catchment list or quota split, so plan to get in on merit and treat any state advantage as a bonus.
Fed Poly Isuochi Statistics subject combination and O’level requirements
This is the one part of the requirements I could not confirm line by line. JAMB’s polytechnic brochure page for Statistics on Myschool (I tried three versions of the page on 29 October 2026) loaded without its subject list, so the UTME line below is JAMB’s usual pattern for ND Statistics, checked against a published polytechnic brochure. Confirm it on the JAMB e-brochure before you register.
| Requirement | ND Statistics |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (JAMB’s usual pattern) | Use of English, Mathematics and two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Geography; some polytechnics also accept Biology or Agricultural Science |
| Mathematics in the UTME | Compulsory in every version of the requirement I have seen |
| Example from another federal polytechnic | Federal Polytechnic Nekede’s ND Statistics brochure: Mathematics plus any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology/Agricultural Science and Geography |
| O’level rule in the Fed Poly Isuochi advert | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
| Relevant O’level subjects (Nekede example) | Three from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Statistics and ICT |
| Upload of O’level | Compulsory on the JAMB portal (CAPS) |
| Fed Poly Isuochi remark in the JAMB brochure | None found |
My subject advice: write Mathematics plus two of Economics, Physics and Chemistry. Those three are accepted in every version of the Statistics requirement I have seen, so they are the lowest-risk picks while the brochure text stays unconfirmed. If you are a commercial student, Mathematics with Economics and Geography is also widely accepted.
For O’level, your credit in Mathematics carries more weight here than in almost any other ND course. A credit in Further Mathematics or Economics on top of English and Mathematics makes your result look like a Statistics result, which helps when a department ranks candidates on documents.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND, so ND Statistics admission goes through the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so Fed Poly Isuochi does not appear to run HND Statistics yet. After the ND and the one-year industrial attachment, you would apply for HND at another polytechnic that runs it, directly and outside CAPS.
The advert also lists a Basic Studies programme under the School of Business and General Studies. Basic Studies programmes in Nigerian polytechnics are usually a pre-ND route for candidates still fixing their O’level, but this advert gives no entry rules for it, so ask the Admission Unit before you count on it.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Statistics
The 2026/2027 advert is the only official screening document I found. It sets the entry rules and the fee but says nothing about a test date, a closing date or how candidates are ranked.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 advert says |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who sat the UTME and scored 100 and above |
| O’level | At least five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
| Where to apply | Online at fedpis.edu.ng |
| Form fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable |
| O’level on the JAMB portal | Upload is mandatory |
| Enquiries | Admission Unit, Nkwoagu Temporary Site; registrar@fedpis.edu.ng; 07034376858 or 07034200093 |
| Screening test | Not mentioned |
| Closing date | Not stated |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
Because no test is mentioned, the school may screen on documents and UTME score alone, or it may announce a test later on the portal. If a test comes, expect English and Mathematics. For a Statistics applicant, Mathematics is the paper that decides things, so keep practising algebra, indices, probability and basic statistics such as mean, median and mode.
Worked example for an ND Statistics applicant
The school has not published an aggregate formula, so the useful check is how far your score sits above the 100 minimum and above a safe target. Take Chinedu, who scored 134 and has credits in English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Economics from one WAEC sitting.
- Eligibility: 134 minus 100 = 34. He is clear of the school’s line.
- Against my safe target: 134 minus 130 = 4. He is inside the band I would be comfortable with.
- UTME subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics and Economics. Both Physics and Economics appear in every version of the requirement I found.
- O’level: five credits including English and Mathematics in one sitting, uploaded to CAPS. Nothing rules him out.
Some Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by blending the UTME score with a screening score. Purely to show how such a blend works, divide the UTME score by 8 to get a mark out of 50 and add a screening mark out of 50. Chinedu’s 134 gives 16.75, and a screening mark of 30 would bring him to 46.75 out of 100. A candidate on 104 with the same screening mark would have 43. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published one.
Your chances of getting Statistics at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Statistics was named among the school’s NBTE-accredited courses in February 2025, so it is one of its more established programmes.
- Applicant numbers for ND Statistics are usually modest across Nigerian polytechnics, which works in your favour.
- Your Mathematics result matters most. A credit in O’level Mathematics on CAPS plus a solid UTME Mathematics score makes you a natural fit.
- Polytechnics often keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline, which was 31 December 2026 for the 2026/2027 session, so keep checking CAPS after the first batch.
If you applied for Computer Science and the school offers you Statistics, think before you reject it. Both sit in the same school, both lean heavily on Mathematics, and statistics graduates who learn data tools such as Excel, SPSS or Python do well in data jobs.
How to apply for Statistics at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with the profile code you take to the registration centre.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: choose Statistics with Use of English, Mathematics and two of Economics, Physics and Chemistry, after checking the JAMB e-brochure. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi (Abia State) and read the name twice on the screen before you confirm.
- Fix your choices early: If Fed Poly Isuochi or Statistics was not on your registration, correct it. Use a JAMB change of institution or a JAMB change of course before the polytechnic starts admitting.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB accredited centre with your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. The school’s advert says the upload is mandatory, and CAPS cannot move your name forward without it.
- Buy the school form: go to fedpis.edu.ng, create an account, pay the ₦2,000 form fee (the 2026/2027 amount) and fill in your details. Print the payment receipt and the completed form.
- Follow screening news: the advert did not mention a test, so check the portal and the school’s official announcements. If a test or document check is announced, take your UTME result slip, O’level results and portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status you may see.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the school has not published its acceptance fee or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only through the school portal, print the receipts and complete clearance at the Admission Unit.
Warning
Every genuine Fed Poly Isuochi admission shows on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, so ignore anyone selling a “special list” slot, and make school payments only through the official portal.
If you have not registered for the next UTME yet, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. After the exam, see how to check your JAMB result and what to do with the score.
Studying Statistics at Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Sun reported in March 2024 that the school was set up in 2022 and that a temporary site had been handed over while the permanent site was built. The Rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023, and the Admission Unit currently sits at the Nkwoagu Temporary Site. Statistics is one of the five ND courses in the School of Science and Industrial Technology, alongside Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Public Health Technology and Animal Health and Production Technology.
What you study
- Descriptive statistics: collecting, organising and presenting data in tables, charts and summary measures
- Probability and probability distributions
- Sampling methods, survey design and questionnaire work
- Statistical inference, estimation and tests of hypotheses at an introductory level
- Economic and social statistics, including index numbers and vital statistics
- Mathematics for statistics, computer applications and statistical software
- Communication in English and the general studies courses every ND student takes
This list describes what ND Statistics programmes in Nigerian polytechnics usually cover. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own course outline.
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT), and HND admission usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above.
On accreditation, The Mirror reported on 2 February 2025 that Fed Poly Isuochi had six courses accredited by the National Board for Technical Education, and Statistics was named on its list. That is a press report, and accreditation is reviewed from time to time, so confirm the current status with the department or the NBTE before you pay school fees.
Careers after the ND
- Data entry, data collection and survey field work for research firms and NGOs
- Statistical assistant roles in ministries, local government offices and the National Bureau of Statistics
- Records and planning units in hospitals, schools and businesses
- HND Statistics, and later a degree in Statistics, Economics or Data Science

Mistakes that cost Statistics applicants a place
- Leaving out Mathematics: it is compulsory for Statistics in every version of the requirement.
- Picking subjects only one brochure accepts: stay with Economics, Physics or Chemistry unless the e-brochure confirms another choice.
- A pass, not a credit, in O’level Mathematics: the advert asks for a credit in both English and Mathematics.
- Three O’level sittings: the advert accepts two sittings at most.
- No O’level on CAPS: the advert makes the upload mandatory.
- Paying the wrong school: Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is not Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and it is not the private Iheachukwu Madubuike Institute of Technology in the same LGA.
Fed Poly Isuochi Statistics cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
Is 110 enough for Statistics in Fed Poly Isuochi? It is enough to apply, because the school asks for 100 and above and has no departmental cut-off. For a comfortable chance I would still aim for 130 or more.
Can I study Statistics at Fed Poly Isuochi without Physics? Yes, as long as you have Mathematics and two other accepted subjects. Economics and Chemistry, or Economics and Geography, are common alternatives; confirm the final list on the JAMB e-brochure.
Does Fed Poly Isuochi accept NECO and two sittings for Statistics? Yes. The 2026/2027 advert accepts WAEC, NECO and NABTEB results in not more than two sittings, provided English and Mathematics are among your five credits.
How much is the Fed Poly Isuochi form for Statistics? The 2026/2027 form cost ₦2,000, non-refundable, paid online at fedpis.edu.ng. Check the portal for the 2027/2028 amount before you pay.
Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). The school’s entry rules, course list, form fee, website and contacts are from the Fed Poly Isuochi 2026/2027 admission advert reprinted by Myschool (29 April 2026), signed by the Registrar, Mrs Ifeyinwa O. Ezenuruihe. The Rector’s tenure, the 2024 call for candidates with 100 and the list of NBTE-accredited courses are from The Mirror (2 February 2025). The founding year and the temporary site are from The Sun (8 March 2024). I tried JAMB’s polytechnic brochure pages for Statistics on Myschool on 29 October 2026, but they loaded without the subject list, so the UTME combination here follows JAMB’s usual pattern and Federal Polytechnic Nekede’s published ND Statistics requirement. The safe target scores, subject advice and worked examples are my own. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Isuochi publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
