The Fed Poly Isuochi Animal Health and Production Technology cut-off mark is 100 in the UTME. Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi set “100 and above” as the UTME requirement for all its National Diploma (ND) courses in the 2026/2027 admission advert, matching JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. No separate departmental cut-off has been published for this course.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
This is the school’s only livestock course, and it is new enough that most websites say very little about it. Below I set out the verified JAMB subject combination, the O’level rules, what the school has said about screening, a safe target score (marked as my advice), a worked example, the CAPS steps and what is still unconfirmed about accreditation.

Fed Poly Isuochi Animal Health and Production Technology cut-off mark history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | “Score of 100 and above” for every ND programme in the school’s advert | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |

| 2024/2025 | 100 | The Rector invited 2024 UTME candidates with 100 or above to apply | Reported by The Mirror, 2 February 2025 |
| Any year | None | A Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off for Animal Health and Production Technology alone | Never published in any source I found |
The course is not in the list of accredited courses The Mirror reported in February 2025, but it is in the 2026/2027 advert, so it looks like one of the school’s newer programmes. There is no merit list or departmental score to report. The only official figure is 100.
Safe target score for Animal Health and Production Technology (my advice)
The table below is my reading as an admissions adviser, not a rule from the polytechnic.
| Your UTME score | My read for this course at Fed Poly Isuochi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible. Agricultural courses usually have room, so this can work with good science credits |
| 120 to 149 | Good position |
| 150 and above | Very safe |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 120. Agriculture and livestock courses draw fewer applicants than health or computing courses in most Nigerian polytechnics, and the school is still young. That is an informed guess, not a published figure, and 120 gives you a margin if the department turns out busier than expected.
Does state of origin matter?
Federal polytechnics normally weigh merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published how it applies these, so plan on merit.
Animal Health and Production Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
Unlike some of the school’s courses, this one has a clear entry in JAMB’s polytechnic brochure, which I checked on Myschool’s reprint on 29 October 2026. There is no Fed Poly Isuochi remark on the page, so the general rule applies.
| Requirement | ND Animal Health and Production Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other science subject |
| Mathematics in the UTME | Not compulsory; it can be your fourth subject |
| O’level in JAMB’s brochure | Five credits in Biology or Agricultural Science and Mathematics, plus three from Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Technical Drawing, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Nigerian Language and Home Economics |
| O’level rule in the school’s advert | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
| Upload of O’level | Compulsory on the JAMB portal (CAPS) |
| Fed Poly Isuochi remark in the JAMB brochure | None, so the general rules apply |
Put the two rules together and you need credits in English, Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science, plus two more from the brochure list. I would make one of those two Chemistry. The brochure’s base rule does not insist on it, but you write Chemistry in the UTME, and a department will expect you to have it at O’level too.
For the UTME, the natural set is English, Biology, Chemistry and Agricultural Science or Physics. Biology and Agricultural Science are listed as alternatives for the same slot. If you want to write both, confirm on the e-brochure that Agricultural Science can count as your “other science”; Physics or Mathematics are the safer fourth subjects.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND, so admission goes through the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so HND in this field would mean moving to another institution after your ND and industrial attachment. The advert also lists a Basic Studies programme without entry rules, so ask the Admission Unit if you still need to fix your O’level.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for this course
The 2026/2027 advert is the only official screening document I found. It covers eligibility and the fee, and leaves out the test, the closing date and the ranking method.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 advert says |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who sat the UTME and scored 100 and above |
| O’level | At least five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
| Where to apply | Online at fedpis.edu.ng |
| Form fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable |
| O’level on the JAMB portal | Upload is mandatory |
| Enquiries | Admission Unit, Nkwoagu Temporary Site; registrar@fedpis.edu.ng; 07034376858 or 07034200093 |
| Screening test | Not mentioned |
| Closing date | Not stated |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
If a test is announced, expect English and Mathematics, and revise the Biology and Agricultural Science you will need anyway: animal nutrition, common livestock diseases, reproduction in farm animals and basic animal husbandry.
Worked example for an applicant
With no published formula, the useful check is your distance above the 100 minimum and above a safe target. Take Obinna, who scored 126 with credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Agricultural Science from two WAEC sittings.
- Eligibility: 126 minus 100 = 26. He meets the school’s line.
- Against my safe target: 126 minus 120 = 6. He is inside the band I would be happy with.
- UTME subjects: English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which matches the brochure exactly.
- O’level: two sittings is within the advert’s limit, and his five credits include English, Mathematics and Biology. Once they are on CAPS, nothing rules him out.
To show how a blended ranking can work at polytechnics that use one: divide the UTME score by 8 for a mark out of 50 and add a screening mark out of 50. Obinna’s 126 gives 15.75, and a screening mark of 33 would give him 48.75 out of 100. A candidate on 106 with the same screening mark would have 46.25. This is an illustration only. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published a formula.
Your chances of getting Animal Health and Production Technology
- This is usually one of the easier courses to get in a Nigerian polytechnic, so a clean O’level matters more than a very high UTME score.
- Credits in Biology or Agricultural Science and Mathematics are the ones the brochure names first. Make sure they are on CAPS.
- The course was not on the February 2025 accredited list. Ask about its current NBTE status before paying school fees.
- Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline, which was 31 December 2026 for 2026/2027.
If you wanted Public Health Technology or Science Laboratory Technology and get offered this course, think it through. Livestock work is practical and self-employment is realistic, but you should only accept if you can see yourself working with animals.
How to apply for Animal Health and Production Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with the profile code you take to the registration centre.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: choose Animal Health and Production Technology with Use of English, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and one other science subject. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi (Abia State) and read the name twice on the screen before you confirm.
- Fix your choices early: If Fed Poly Isuochi or this course was not on your registration, correct it. Use a JAMB change of institution or a JAMB change of course before the polytechnic starts admitting.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB accredited centre with your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. The school’s advert says the upload is mandatory, and CAPS cannot move your name forward without it.
- Buy the school form: go to fedpis.edu.ng, create an account, pay the ₦2,000 form fee (the 2026/2027 amount) and fill in your details. Print the payment receipt and the completed form.
- Follow screening news: the advert did not mention a test, so check the portal and the school’s official announcements. If a test or document check is announced, take your UTME result slip, O’level results and portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status you may see.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the school has not published its acceptance fee or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only through the school portal, print the receipts and complete clearance at the Admission Unit.
Warning
Every genuine Fed Poly Isuochi admission shows on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, so ignore anyone selling a “special list” slot, and make school payments only through the official portal.
If you have not registered for the next UTME yet, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. After the exam, see how to check your JAMB result and what to do with the score.
Studying Animal Health and Production Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Sun reported in March 2024 that the school was set up in 2022 and that a temporary site had been handed over while the permanent site was built. The Rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023, and the Admission Unit currently sits at the Nkwoagu Temporary Site. Animal Health and Production Technology is one of the five ND courses in the School of Science and Industrial Technology, alongside Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Statistics and Public Health Technology.
What you study
- Livestock management: poultry, pigs, goats, sheep, cattle and rabbits
- Animal nutrition and feed formulation
- Animal anatomy and physiology
- Recognising common livestock diseases, first aid and basic animal health care
- Animal breeding, hatchery work and pasture management
- Processing and marketing of meat, eggs and milk, and farm records
- Communication in English and the general studies courses every ND student takes
These are the areas that ND animal health and production programmes in Nigeria usually cover. For example, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana describes its NBTE-designed animal production training around farm management, disease recognition and first aid, feed production and processing. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own outline.
Duration, accreditation and professional recognition
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time, followed by a one-year industrial attachment for students heading to HND.
The Mirror’s February 2025 list of Fed Poly Isuochi’s NBTE-accredited courses did not include this programme, and the article said the school would pursue approval for more courses. I found no later confirmation, so check its current status with the department or the NBTE before you pay fees.
On the professional side, the Veterinary Council of Nigeria inducts animal health graduates of approved colleges as veterinary para-professionals. Blueprint reported in June 2026 that it inducted 49 animal health technology graduates from Bauchi State College of Agriculture. Whether Fed Poly Isuochi’s graduates will qualify for that induction is not confirmed, so ask the department.
Careers after the ND
- Running your own poultry, piggery, goat or feed business
- Farm supervisor or livestock attendant on commercial farms
- Animal health assistant roles with vets, agro-vet shops and feed companies
- Agricultural extension work with state ministries and NGOs
- HND, then a degree in Animal Science or Animal Production

Mistakes that cost applicants a place
- Leaving out Chemistry in the UTME: the brochure lists it as a required subject.
- No credit in Mathematics: both the brochure and the advert name it.
- Writing Biology and Agricultural Science as if they fill two different slots: the brochure treats them as alternatives for one slot.
- Three O’level sittings: the advert allows two at most.
- No O’level on CAPS: the advert makes the upload mandatory.
- Assuming accreditation: ask about the current NBTE status before paying fees.
Fed Poly Isuochi Animal Health and Production Technology cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
What is the JAMB subject combination for Animal Health and Production Technology? Use of English, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other science subject, according to JAMB’s polytechnic brochure. Fed Poly Isuochi has no separate remark, so this general rule applies.
Can I use Agricultural Science instead of Biology for this course? Yes. The brochure accepts Biology or Agricultural Science in the UTME, and also at O’level, where you need a credit in one of them along with Mathematics and English.
Is 105 enough for Animal Health and Production Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi? It is enough to apply, because the school’s line is 100 and above. Your chance improves with a clean O’level on CAPS, and I would still aim for 120 or more.
How much is the Fed Poly Isuochi admission form? The 2026/2027 form cost ₦2,000, non-refundable, paid online at fedpis.edu.ng. Check the portal for the 2027/2028 price before paying.
