The Fed Poly Isuochi cut off mark for Office Technology and Management is 100 in the UTME. Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi asked for a UTME score of “100 and above” for every National Diploma (ND) course in its 2026/2027 admission advert, which matches JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. The school has not published a separate departmental cut-off for Office Technology and Management.

Office Technology and Management (OTM) has the most flexible UTME combination of the business courses at the school, which makes it a practical choice for arts and social science candidates. The catch is the O’level: you still need a credit in Mathematics. Below are the official figures, a safe target score (my advice), the subject rules, what the school has said about screening, and the CAPS steps.

Fed Poly Isuochi is a young federal polytechnic, and in every session it has advertised so far, the bar has been JAMB’s 100. I found no merit list, no departmental figure and no aggregate score for Office Technology and Management. One blog post about the 2026/2027 form also mixed the school up with Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, so check the school name on anything you read.
Safe target score for Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a rule from the polytechnic, which has not released scores of admitted candidates.

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 125. OTM rarely fills as fast as Accountancy, and Fed Poly Isuochi is still growing, but no admission figures have been released. The extra 25 marks protect you if more people apply than expected.
Does state of origin matter?
Federal polytechnics usually admit under federal guidelines that consider merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own catchment list or quota split, so apply on merit and do not count on an indigene advantage unless the school’s notice mentions one.

Any three of the seven listed subjects will do, so a candidate who wrote Government, CRS and Economics qualifies, and so does one who wrote Mathematics, Commerce and Principles of Accounts. Office Practice is an O’level subject on the brochure list. It is not a UTME option, so do not look for it on the JAMB registration screen.
My suggestion is Economics, Commerce and Government. They match the business side of OTM and keep Business Administration and Management open as a change-of-course option if you include Mathematics instead of Government. Whatever you pick, make sure your O’level shows credits in English and Mathematics, because the school’s advert insists on both.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Office Technology and Management admission goes through the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so do not expect HND Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi yet. After your ND and the one-year industrial attachment, you would apply for HND at a polytechnic that runs it, directly and outside CAPS.
The same advert also lists a Basic Studies programme under the School of Business and General Studies, which is usually a pre-ND route for candidates still fixing their O’level. The advert gives no entry rules for it, so ask the Admission Unit before you count on it.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Office Technology and Management
The 2026/2027 advert is the only official screening document I found. It sets the entry rules and the fee, but it says nothing about a test date, a closing date or how candidates are ranked. Here is what it does and does not say.

Because no test is mentioned, the school may screen on documents alone, or it may announce a test later on the portal. Prepare as if a short test in English, Mathematics and your course subjects could come, and keep checking the portal.
Worked example for an ND Office Technology and Management applicant
Fed Poly Isuochi has not published an aggregate formula, so start with your margin above the minimum. Take Blessing, who scored 117 with Economics, Commerce and CRS, and holds credits in English, Mathematics, Commerce, Office Practice and CRS from NECO.
- Eligibility: 117 minus 100 = 17. She clears the school’s line.
- Against my safe target: 117 minus 125 = minus 8. She is a little below where I would like her, but still a real applicant for OTM.
- Subjects: Economics, Commerce and CRS are all on the brochure list, so her combination is valid.
- O’level: five credits including English and Mathematics, uploaded to CAPS. Her credit in Office Practice also fits the course.
To show how some polytechnics combine scores, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening mark out of 50. Blessing’s 117 gives 14.6, and a screening mark of 34 would give her 48.6 out of 100, close to a candidate with 140 and a mark of 30 (47.5). This formula is only an example. Fed Poly Isuochi has not said whether it holds a test or how it ranks candidates.
Your chances of getting Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi
- OTM usually has a gentler admission pool than Accountancy, so scores between 110 and 130 can work when the department has space.
- Your O’level matters more than usual here, because candidates with a pass in Mathematics are common in arts classes and the school requires a credit.
- OTM is in the 2026/2027 advert, so the school was admitting for it.
- Keep checking CAPS until JAMB’s deadline, which was 31 December 2026 for polytechnics in 2026/2027.
If you scored well and like the business side of the course, look at Business Administration and Management too, but remember it needs Mathematics in the UTME. Public Administration is another option in the same school, with a fixed Government, History and Economics combination.
How to apply for Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Office Technology and Management with Use of English and any three of Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, History or Government, Geography, CRS or IRS, and Principles of Accounts. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi (Abia State) as your institution, and check the name carefully on the JAMB list.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Isuochi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before admission starts. To move into Office Technology and Management from another course, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. The advert makes it mandatory, and CAPS cannot carry your admission without it.
- Apply on the school portal: go to fedpis.edu.ng, register, pay the ₦2,000 form fee and fill in your details. Print every slip the portal gives you.
- Watch for screening news: if a test or document screening is announced, attend with your UTME result slip, O’level results and portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the school has not published its acceptance or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only through the school portal, then complete clearance at the Admission Unit.
Warning
Every genuine Fed Poly Isuochi admission shows on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, so ignore anyone selling a “supplementary list” slot, and make school payments only through the official portal.

Studying Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Sun reported in March 2024 that it was set up in 2022 and that a temporary site had been handed over while the permanent site was built. Its Rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023, and the Admission Unit currently sits at the Nkwoagu Temporary Site. Office Technology and Management, the course that replaced the old Secretarial Studies in Nigerian polytechnics, is offered in its School of Business and General Studies.

Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT), and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published a course-specific timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
The Mirror (2 February 2025) named six courses at Fed Poly Isuochi as accredited by the National Board for Technical Education, and OTM was not one of them. The course is in the 2026/2027 advert, so the school was admitting for it, but I could not confirm whether it now has NBTE approval or accreditation. Ask the department or the NBTE before you pay school fees, because accreditation affects NYSC and HND entry.

Mistakes that cost Office Technology and Management applicants a place at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Assuming Mathematics is not needed at all: it is optional in the UTME but the advert requires an O’level credit.
- Looking for Office Practice in the UTME: it is an O’level subject for this course.
- Skipping the accreditation question: OTM was not among the six accredited courses named in 2025.
- Treating 100 as enough on its own: it only makes you eligible to be considered.
- Not uploading O’level to CAPS: the advert says it is mandatory.
- Ignoring the CAPS offer: an offer you do not accept can lapse while you wait for another school.

Is Mathematics compulsory for Office Technology and Management in JAMB? No. JAMB’s brochure lets you pick any three of Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, History/Government, Geography, CRS/IRS and Principles of Accounts with Use of English. You still need an O’level credit in Mathematics for Fed Poly Isuochi.
What is the cut off mark for OTM in Fed Poly Isuochi? The school’s 2026/2027 advert set 100 and above for every ND course, and no separate figure was published for OTM. I would aim for about 125 to be comfortable.
Is Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi accredited? It was not among the six NBTE-accredited courses reported in February 2025, and I could not confirm its current status. Ask the school before paying fees.
