CCU Education and Integrated Science Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 & Admission Requirements

Education and Integrated Science is on JAMB’s list for Coal City University but not on CCU’s own Faculty of Education page or the NUC results. See the 150 minimum, JAMB subjects, what to ask CCU and the better alternatives.

The CCU Education and Integrated Science cut-off mark, if the course is admitting, is 150 in the UTME, the national minimum JAMB set for universities for 2026/2027. Coal City University, Enugu has not published a departmental cut-off for it and did not declare its own figure at the JAMB 2026 policy meeting. Before you build your plan around this course, read the next paragraph carefully.

2027/2028 update: CCU cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Important: Education and Integrated Science is on JAMB’s course list for CCU (exact JAMB name: Education and Integrated Science), but it is not on CCU’s own programme list. CCU’s Faculty of Education page names fifteen B.Ed. degrees, and the only science teaching degrees among them are Education and Biology and Education and Computer Science. The NUC’s accreditation results for CCU have no line for Integrated Science either. So I can’t confirm that CCU currently admits into this course. If you want to teach science and stay at CCU, the courses CCU itself advertises are Education and Biology and Education and Computer Science, both fully accredited by the NUC. If Integrated Science is what you want, ESUT and UNN run it. Ask CCU in writing before you register it.

Why JAMB lists Education and Integrated Science at CCU when CCU does not

JAMB’s course list for a university records every course the university has registered with JAMB. A university’s own faculty page shows what it presents to students now. When the two disagree, the course may be dormant, approved but not yet started, or folded into another degree. Public sources do not tell me which of these applies here.

Three facts point the same way:

  • CCU’s Faculty of Education page: it lists fifteen B.Ed. degrees in two departments, Education Foundation and Science and Computer Education. The science department shows only B.Ed. Education and Computer Science and B.Ed. Education and Biology. Education and Integrated Science is not there.
  • The NUC record: the NUC’s “Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025” publication (September 2026) has nine Education lines for CCU: Business Education, Education Biology, Education Computer Science, Education English, Education Economics, Education Political Science, Educational Management, Guidance and Counseling and Social Studies. There is no Integrated Science line, and no Education Mathematics, Education Physics or Education Chemistry line either.
  • No NUC report page: a search of NUC’s published accreditation reports turned up CCU reports for Accounting, Business Administration, Biochemistry, Computer Science and Economics only.

The faculty page was last edited on 1 February 2024, so it could be behind. Even so, I would not register a course on JAMB that a university does not show anywhere on its own site without written confirmation. CAPS proposals come from the department, and a department that is not admitting cannot propose you.

What to ask CCU before you register

  1. Is the course admitting for the session you are applying to? Ask for a yes or no in writing, by email.
  2. What is its NUC status? A new course can run before its first NUC visit, but you should know that before paying.
  3. Which department will teach it? If the answer is the Department of Science and Computer Education, ask why it is missing from the faculty page.

Use the contact details on ccu.edu.ng or the admission portal. CCU said in August 2026 that admission letters go out only through the portal and the applicant’s registered email, so ignore anyone who offers to confirm a place by phone or WhatsApp for a fee.

2020/2021160CCU’s general minimum UTME score for all programmesCCU’s own How to Apply page, written for that exercise

The 160 line is the only CCU-issued figure I found. It sits on the university’s How to Apply page, which was written for the 2020/2021 admission exercise and last edited in February 2022. CCU has not repeated it in any later notice I could reach, so treat it as history. The blog AbsTechConnect gave CCU’s cut-off as 150 in May 2026 without citing a CCU document; that matches JAMB’s floor and says nothing about this course.

Safe target score for Education and Integrated Science at CCU (my advice)

Education courses at private universities rarely fill up on score alone. The NUC quota and the number of candidates with clean O’level results usually decide who gets in. The table is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a CCU rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read for CCU Education and Integrated Science
Below 150Not eligible through UTME. Look at CCU’s JUPEB or IJMB route, or rewrite the UTME
150 to 159Eligible on paper; complete O’level papers and an early application matter more than the score
160 to 179Comfortable for a private university; this also clears the 160 CCU once used
180 and aboveStrong; ESUT and UNN (160 to screen) are also open, and both list Integrated Science Education

For a 2027 candidate I would aim for 160 or more. It is the figure CCU itself used in 2020/2021, and it also clears the 160 that ESUT and UNN asked for in 2026/2027.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Education and Integrated Science

The JAMB brochure entry for Education and Integrated Science has no remark for CCU, so the general rules below are what CCU would apply if it admits.

RequirementEducation and Integrated Science (JAMB general rule)
JAMB course name to registerEducation and Integrated Science (Coal City University)
UTME subjectsUse of English plus any three of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science
O’levelFive credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (CCU has not published its own list)
SittingsNo more than two, per CCU’s older How to Apply page
Direct EntryNCE in Integrated Science, NCE in Science Education, or two A-level passes in science subjects

Choosing your UTME subjects

The general rule is loose: any three of five science subjects. My safe pick is English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. That set meets the stricter remarks other universities attach to this course (UNIBEN and ABU, for example, ask for Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics), and it also qualifies you for CCU’s Education and Biology, which is the closest course CCU actually lists. If you choose Mathematics in place of Physics, you stay eligible for the general rule but lose some of those fallbacks.

O’level points to watch

  • Biology and Chemistry at credit: the general rule names both. A pass in either fails it.
  • Mathematics and English at credit: CCU’s older admission page asks for both for every programme.
  • Physics: not named in the general rule, but a credit helps if you later switch to a physics-heavy course.
  • Sittings: CCU’s How to Apply page allows no more than two WAEC sittings. If you are combining WAEC and NECO, confirm with CCU.

Direct Entry

The brochure accepts an NCE in Integrated Science or Science Education, or two A-level science passes. Many universities ask for an NCE merit, and Benue State University adds an O’level Mathematics credit. CCU has no remark, so an NCE holder should get written confirmation from CCU that the course is running before paying for Direct Entry registration. Every degree admission, NCE-based Direct Entry included, goes through JAMB’s CAPS.

How CCU screens Education and Integrated Science applicants

CCU has not published its 2026/2027 screening details in any source I could reach. This is what is known for the university as a whole:

DetailWhat is known for 2026/2027

Admission lettersIssued only through the admission portal and your registered email (CCU notice, 13 August 2026)
Other routesJUPEB, IJMB and pre-degree forms advertised for 2026/2027

Worked example (illustrative)

CCU publishes no aggregate formula, so this example only checks margins and the subject rules.

Take Chidera, who scored 163 with English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Her WAEC (one sitting) has B3 in English Language, C4 in Mathematics, B2 in Biology, C5 in Chemistry, C6 in Physics and B3 in Civic Education.

  1. Eligibility: 163 minus 150 = 13 above JAMB’s minimum, and 3 above the 160 CCU used in 2020/2021.
  2. UTME subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics are three of the five allowed sciences. She qualifies.
  3. O’level: English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at credit, plus Physics and Civic Education. She qualifies.
  4. Course check: because CCU does not list the course, she emails CCU first. If CCU says it is not admitting, she can do a change of course to Education and Biology at CCU, which her subjects already satisfy.

Now take Emeka, who scored 171 but sat English, Mathematics, Economics and Geography. Economics and Geography are not on the list of five sciences, so his score does not help him for this course.

Admission odds and advice

  • Competition is low: teaching degrees at a private university attract fewer applicants than Nursing, Law or Computer Science, so a 150 to 160 score with clean papers has a real chance.
  • Documents decide most cases: a missing subject credit or an O’level that is not on CAPS stops more applicants than a low score.
  • Make CCU your first choice: if you did not, do a JAMB change of institution before CCU starts proposing names on CAPS.
  • Check the course name: if you registered a course CCU is not running, a JAMB change of course to the right one is better than waiting.
  • Dates: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities. The wider 2026/2027 exercise runs until 31 December 2026, and JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal.

Who this course suits

Integrated Science teachers handle Basic Science in junior secondary school, so the degree suits a candidate who is comfortable in Biology, Chemistry and Physics together and wants to teach. At CCU, though, I would only register it after CCU confirms in writing that it is admitting. Otherwise put Education and Biology first.

How to apply for Education and Integrated Science at CCU, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME: choose Coal City University and the course Education and Integrated Science, with Use of English plus three of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre as soon as your result is out. CAPS cannot recommend you without it.
  4. Fill the CCU form: go to portal.ccu.edu.ng, generate the invoice, pay the amount it shows and keep the receipt and printout.
  5. Watch for screening: check the portal and your email, since CCU has not published screening dates or a test format.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear: CCU’s acceptance and tuition fees were not published in any official source I could reach. Pay only against an invoice on the CCU portal.

Before you pay

Education and Integrated Science is on JAMB’s list for CCU but missing from CCU’s own Faculty of Education page and from the NUC’s results. Get written confirmation from CCU that the course is admitting and ask for its NUC status before paying any fee, apply only through portal.ccu.edu.ng, and never pay an individual for a place.

Studying Education and Integrated Science

Is CCU Education and Integrated Science accredited?

Not confirmed. The NUC’s 1990 to 2025 results list nine CCU Education programmes, and Integrated Science is not one of them. That is different from a denied result: no result of any kind is recorded. Until CCU shows a current NUC approval, treat the course as unverified.

What you study

CCU has not published a curriculum for this course. A Nigerian B.Ed. or B.Sc.(Ed.) in Integrated Science usually runs for four years from UTME entry and combines two strands:

  • Science content: general biology, chemistry and physics, earth and space science, environmental science and laboratory work.
  • Education courses: philosophy and psychology of education, curriculum studies, science teaching methods, measurement and evaluation, and educational technology.
  • Teaching practice: supervised placement in a secondary school, usually in the third and fourth years, plus a research project.

Careers

Graduates teach Basic Science in junior secondary schools and science subjects in primary and private schools, after registering with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. Others work in science centres, curriculum and textbook development, education NGOs and school administration, or go on to a master’s in science education.

Revising for the UTME? Our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus cover two of the subjects you will sit.

Mistakes that cost science education applicants a CCU place

  • Registering a course CCU does not show: confirm it in writing first.
  • Arts or commercial subjects in the UTME: all three non-English subjects must come from the five sciences.
  • A pass in Biology or Chemistry at O’level: both must be credits.
  • O’level not on CAPS when CCU starts proposing candidates.
  • Paying an agent: CCU issues letters only through its portal and your registered email.

CCU Education and Integrated Science cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Does Coal City University offer Education and Integrated Science? It is on JAMB’s course list for CCU, but CCU’s own Faculty of Education page and the NUC results do not show it, so get written confirmation from CCU before registering it.

What is the cut-off mark for Education and Integrated Science at CCU? If the course is admitting, the minimum is 150, JAMB’s 2026/2027 university floor. CCU has published no departmental figure; I would aim for 160.

What subjects do I need for Education and Integrated Science in JAMB? Use of English plus any three of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science, with O’level credits in English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry.

Can I switch to Education and Biology at CCU if Integrated Science is not running? Yes, through a JAMB change of course, as long as your UTME subjects include Biology and Chemistry and your O’level meets the Biology rule.

Sources and updates

The 150 minimum, the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities and the rule that admissions must go through CAPS come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026. The 2025 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025), and CCU’s absence from the declared figures is based on News Central’s 2026 list of university cut-offs. The course name comes from Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s CCU course list, and the subject rules from the JAMB brochure entry for this course (Myschool reprint); both were checked on 30 October 2026. CCU’s own programme list is from its Faculty of Education page (last edited 1 February 2024), and the 160 figure, two-sitting rule and form fee come from CCU’s How to Apply page (2020/2021 exercise). The accreditation position comes from the NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 publication (September 2026) and a search of NUC report pages. The 2026/2027 advert is from Myschool’s reprint (18 May 2026); applicant groups are from AbsTechConnect and are unofficial. Comparison figures for ESUT and UNN come from those universities’ 2026/2027 notices as covered in our linked guides. Checked on 30 October 2026. This page will be updated if CCU publishes a departmental cut-off or the NUC publishes a new result.
