Fed Poly Isuochi is a young federal polytechnic, and in every session it has advertised so far, the bar has been JAMB’s 100. I found no merit list, no departmental figure and no aggregate score for Business Administration and Management. One blog post about the 2026/2027 form also mixed the school up with Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, so check the school name on anything you read.
Safe target score for Business Administration and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a rule from the polytechnic, which has not released scores of admitted candidates.

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 140. Business Administration and Management usually attracts slightly fewer applicants than Accountancy, and Fed Poly Isuochi is still building its intake, but no admission data has been released. A score of 140 or more gives you a margin without needing exact figures.
Does state of origin matter?
Federal polytechnics usually admit under federal guidelines that consider merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own catchment list or quota split, so apply on merit and do not count on an indigene advantage unless the school’s notice mentions one.

This is the same UTME pattern as ND Accountancy: Mathematics plus two business or social science subjects. My pick would be Economics and Commerce. Economics carries straight into the first-year economics course, and Commerce covers trade, banking and insurance topics that come up again in business management.
Business Studies is not on the brochure list, so do not use it as a UTME subject. At O’level, Economics is not compulsory under the base rule, but a credit in Economics or Commerce makes your result look like a business candidate’s, which helps if the school ever ranks by relevance.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Business Administration and Management admission goes through the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so do not expect HND Business Administration and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi yet. After your ND and the one-year industrial attachment, you would apply for HND at a polytechnic that runs it, directly and outside CAPS.
The same advert also lists a Basic Studies programme under the School of Business and General Studies, which is usually a pre-ND route for candidates still fixing their O’level. The advert gives no entry rules for it, so ask the Admission Unit before you count on it.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Business Administration and Management
The 2026/2027 advert is the only official screening document I found. It sets the entry rules and the fee, but it says nothing about a test date, a closing date or how candidates are ranked. Here is what it does and does not say.

Because no test is mentioned, the school may screen on documents alone, or it may announce a test later on the portal. Prepare as if a short test in English, Mathematics and your course subjects could come, and keep checking the portal.
Worked example for an ND Business Administration and Management applicant
Fed Poly Isuochi has not published an aggregate formula, so the first check is the gap between your UTME score and the 100 minimum. Take Ikenna, who scored 141 with credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Civic Education, plus a pass in Government, across two NECO and WAEC sittings.
- Eligibility: 141 minus 100 = 41. He clears the school’s line.
- Against my safe target: 141 minus 140 = 1. He is right at the edge of my comfort band.
- Sittings: two sittings are allowed by the advert, so combining NECO and WAEC is fine.
- O’level count: he has five credits including English and Mathematics, uploaded to CAPS. He meets the rule as written.
To show how a mixed ranking could work, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening mark out of 50. Ikenna’s 141 gives 17.6, and a screening mark of 30 would bring him to 47.6 out of 100. A candidate with 180 and the same screening mark would have 52.5. This is an illustration only. Fed Poly Isuochi has not said whether it uses a test or how it weighs one.
Your chances of getting Business Administration and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Business Administration and Management is in the same school as Accountancy, and some candidates who miss Accountancy are offered this course instead, so expect a moderate pool.
- It was on The Mirror’s February 2025 list of NBTE-accredited courses at the school.
- A score above 140 with credits in English and Mathematics is a sensible plan.
- If you are below 120, apply anyway if you meet the rules, and keep checking CAPS until JAMB’s deadline.
If Business Administration and Management does not work out, Public Administration and Office Technology and Management sit in the same School of Business and General Studies. Their UTME subjects are different, though, so read those pages before you ask for a change of course.
How to apply for Business Administration and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Business Administration and Management with Use of English, Mathematics and two of Economics, Commerce, Government, Geography and Principles of Accounts. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi (Abia State) as your institution, and check the name carefully on the JAMB list.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Isuochi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before admission starts. To move into Business Administration and Management from another course, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. The advert makes it mandatory, and CAPS cannot carry your admission without it.
- Apply on the school portal: go to fedpis.edu.ng, register, pay the ₦2,000 form fee and fill in your details. Print every slip the portal gives you.
- Watch for screening news: if a test or document screening is announced, attend with your UTME result slip, O’level results and portal printouts.

Every genuine Fed Poly Isuochi admission shows on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, so ignore anyone selling a “supplementary list” slot, and make school payments only through the official portal.

Studying Business Administration and Management at Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Sun reported in March 2024 that it was set up in 2022 and that a temporary site had been handed over while the permanent site was built. Its Rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023, and the Admission Unit currently sits at the Nkwoagu Temporary Site. Business Administration and Management is one of the courses its School of Business and General Studies offers at ND level.

Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT), and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published a course-specific timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
The Mirror (2 February 2025) listed Business Administration and Management among the Fed Poly Isuochi courses accredited by the National Board for Technical Education. The article said six courses but its list can be read as seven names, so I treat this course as included while noting the wording. Confirm the current status with the department before you pay fees.
