The Fed Poly Isuochi cut off mark for Public Administration is 100 in the UTME. Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi asked for a UTME score of “100 and above” for every National Diploma (ND) course in its 2026/2027 admission advert, which matches JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. The school has not published a separate departmental cut-off for Public Administration.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
For this course, watch two things besides your score. JAMB’s brochure lists a fixed UTME combination for ND Public Administration that includes History, which surprises many candidates. And Public Administration was not among the courses reported as NBTE-accredited at Fed Poly Isuochi in 2025, so you should confirm its status before paying fees. Both are covered below, with a safe target score, the screening details and the CAPS steps.

Fed Poly Isuochi Public Administration cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | “Score of 100 and above” for all ND programmes in the school’s advert | Official |

| Any year | None | A Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off for Public Administration specifically | Never published in any source I found |
Fed Poly Isuochi is a young federal polytechnic, and in every session it has advertised so far, the bar has been JAMB’s 100. I found no merit list, no departmental figure and no aggregate score for Public Administration. One blog post about the 2026/2027 form also mixed the school up with Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, so check the school name on anything you read.
Safe target score for Public Administration at Fed Poly Isuochi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a rule from the polytechnic, which has not released scores of admitted candidates.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Public Administration at Fed Poly Isuochi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible, and workable in a smaller course at a young school |
| 120 to 149 | Comfortable on what we know |
| 150 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 130. Public Administration at a new polytechnic is unlikely to be the most crowded course, but Fed Poly Isuochi has not released any figures, and a margin of 30 marks above the minimum costs you little extra effort.
Does state of origin matter?
Federal polytechnics usually admit under federal guidelines that consider merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own catchment list or quota split, so apply on merit and do not count on an indigene advantage unless the school’s notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Isuochi Public Administration subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Public Administration |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Government, History and Economics |
| Mathematics in the UTME | Not part of the base combination |
| O’level in JAMB’s brochure | Five credits including English Language (not Literature) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| O’level rule in the school’s advert | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
| Upload of O’level | Compulsory on the JAMB portal (CAPS) |
| Fed Poly Isuochi remark in the JAMB brochure | None, so the general rules above apply |
The brochure’s base combination for polytechnic Public Administration is Government, History and Economics, with Use of English. Some polytechnics have their own waivers in the brochure, and Fed Poly Isuochi has none, so the base combination is the one to follow. Many websites give a looser list for this course; I would not rely on those for this school.
Mathematics is not a UTME subject here, but it is still compulsory at O’level. Fed Poly Isuochi’s advert asks for credits in English Language and Mathematics, so a candidate with a pass in Mathematics will struggle even with a good UTME score. A credit in Government at O’level is also worth having, because it lines up with your UTME choice and your first-year courses.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Public Administration admission goes through the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so do not expect HND Public Administration at Fed Poly Isuochi yet. After your ND and the one-year industrial attachment, you would apply for HND at a polytechnic that runs it, directly and outside CAPS.
The same advert also lists a Basic Studies programme under the School of Business and General Studies, which is usually a pre-ND route for candidates still fixing their O’level. The advert gives no entry rules for it, so ask the Admission Unit before you count on it.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Public Administration
The 2026/2027 advert is the only official screening document I found. It sets the entry rules and the fee, but it says nothing about a test date, a closing date or how candidates are ranked. Here is what it does and does not say.
| Detail | What the advert says |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who sat the UTME and scored 100 and above |
| O’level | At least five credits including English and Mathematics, WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, two sittings at most |
| Where to apply | Online at fedpis.edu.ng |
| Fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable |
| O’level on JAMB portal | Mandatory for all candidates |
| Enquiries | Admission Unit, Nkwoagu Temporary Site; registrar@fedpis.edu.ng; 07034376858 or 07034200093 |
| Screening test | Not mentioned |
| Closing date | Not stated |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
Because no test is mentioned, the school may screen on documents alone, or it may announce a test later on the portal. Prepare as if a short test in English, Mathematics and your course subjects could come, and keep checking the portal.
Worked example for an ND Public Administration applicant
Fed Poly Isuochi has not published an aggregate formula, so the first test is your margin above the minimum. Take Adaeze, who scored 124 with Government, History and Economics, and holds credits in English, Mathematics, Government, Economics and CRS from one WAEC sitting.
- Eligibility: 124 minus 100 = 24. She clears the school’s line.
- Against my safe target: 124 minus 130 = minus 6. She is slightly below my comfort band, though still a realistic applicant.
- Subjects: her UTME combination matches the brochure exactly.
- O’level: five credits including English and Mathematics in one sitting, uploaded to CAPS. Her file is clean.
As an illustration of how some polytechnics rank applicants, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening mark out of 50. Adaeze’s 124 gives 15.5, and a strong screening mark of 36 would lift her to 51.5 out of 100, ahead of a candidate with 150 and a mark of 30 (48.75). Fed Poly Isuochi has not published any formula, so treat this purely as an example of why a screening exercise is worth preparing for.
Your chances of getting Public Administration at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Public Administration usually draws fewer applicants than Accountancy at polytechnics, so a score in the 120s can be enough when the course is admitting.
- The bigger risk is the subject combination. A UTME without History or Government may be rejected for this course even with a good score.
- Public Administration is in the 2026/2027 advert, so the school was taking applicants for it.
- Keep checking CAPS until JAMB’s deadline, which was 31 December 2026 for polytechnics in 2026/2027.
If your UTME subjects do not fit, ask the school whether it will consider you for Business Administration and Management or Office Technology and Management, which are in the same School of Business and General Studies and accept different combinations.
How to apply for Public Administration at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Public Administration with Use of English, Government, History and Economics. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi (Abia State) as your institution, and check the name carefully on the JAMB list.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Isuochi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before admission starts. To move into Public Administration from another course, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. The advert makes it mandatory, and CAPS cannot carry your admission without it.
- Apply on the school portal: go to fedpis.edu.ng, register, pay the ₦2,000 form fee and fill in your details. Print every slip the portal gives you.
- Watch for screening news: if a test or document screening is announced, attend with your UTME result slip, O’level results and portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the school has not published its acceptance or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only through the school portal, then complete clearance at the Admission Unit.
Warning
Every genuine Fed Poly Isuochi admission shows on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, so ignore anyone selling a “supplementary list” slot, and make school payments only through the official portal.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. When results come out, see how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Public Administration at Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Sun reported in March 2024 that it was set up in 2022 and that a temporary site had been handed over while the permanent site was built. Its Rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023, and the Admission Unit currently sits at the Nkwoagu Temporary Site. Public Administration is offered at ND level in its School of Business and General Studies.
What you study
- Introduction to public administration and the structure of government in Nigeria
- Local government administration and intergovernmental relations
- Public finance, budgeting and basic accounting for the public sector
- Administrative law and the Nigerian constitution
- Personnel and records management in public offices
- Research methods, communication in English and the general studies courses
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT), and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published a course-specific timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
The Mirror (2 February 2025) named the courses the National Board for Technical Education had accredited at Fed Poly Isuochi: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Statistics, Accountancy and Business Administration and Management. Public Administration was not on that list. It may have been approved since then, and it does appear in the 2026/2027 advert, but I could not confirm its current NBTE status. Ask the department, or check with the NBTE, before you pay school fees. Accreditation matters for NYSC, HND entry and some jobs.
Careers after the ND
- Clerical and executive officer roles in federal, state and local government offices
- Administrative roles in schools, hospitals and parastatals
- Programme and admin support in NGOs and community organisations
- HND Public Administration, or a degree in public administration or political science

Mistakes that cost Public Administration applicants a place at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Copying a generic subject list: the brochure base for this course is Government, History and Economics.
- No O’level credit in Mathematics: the school’s advert asks for it even though Mathematics is not a UTME subject here.
- Skipping the accreditation question: ask about the course’s NBTE status before you pay.
- Three O’level sittings: the advert allows two at most.
- Not uploading O’level to CAPS: the advert says it is mandatory.
- Paying an agent for admission: offers appear only on CAPS, and the school’s payments go through its portal.
