Maduka University Physiotherapy Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Maduka’s 2026/2027 minimum is 150 for all courses, with no separate Physiotherapy figure. The degree is now a Doctor of Physiotherapy. Requirements, subjects, safe target, MRTB status, fees and CAPS steps.

The Maduka University Physiotherapy cut off mark is 150 in the UTME. Maduka’s 2026/2027 admission announcement, as reported by Myschool News on 15 May 2026, gives a single minimum of 150 in the UTME “as approved for the 2026/2027 Session”, which is also JAMB’s minimum for every Nigerian university this year. Maduka has not set a separate Physiotherapy score, and no site I found prints even an unofficial one. Meeting 150 gets you considered; a higher score is what makes an offer likely.

2027/2028 update: Maduka University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Physiotherapy is on the JAMB-style Maduka course list I checked, and the JAMB course name to register is Physiotherapy. Maduka’s 2026/2027 fee list, as reported by The Vent Republic, names the degree Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. I found no Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB) record for the programme. Below are the admission requirements, a safe target score, the regulator questions to ask, the 2026/2027 fees and the CAPS steps.

Physiotherapy appears in Maduka’s School of Health Sciences in the university’s own 2023 launch advert on TheCable, so it has been part of the plan from the start. A general figure of 140 on Campus Ninja is below JAMB’s 2026 floor and has no Maduka source, so ignore it.

Maduka Physiotherapy admission requirements

RequirementPhysiotherapy
UTME scoreAt least 150; aim higher
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry
SittingsMaduka has not published a rule; one sitting is safer
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry and Biology; Maduka says it accepts DE and inter-university transfer candidates
Choice of institutionMaduka as first choice on JAMB, or a change of institution
Maduka-specific remarkNone in the JAMB brochure

These come from the JAMB brochure entry for Physiotherapy as reprinted by Myschool. There is no remark letting candidates replace Physics with Mathematics, so keep all three sciences. Physiotherapy leans on physics more than most health courses, because movement, force and electrotherapy run through the whole degree.

Safe target score for Maduka Physiotherapy (my advice)

With no published intake or admitted scores, this is my reading.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Maduka Physiotherapy
Below 150Not eligible for any university in 2026/2027
150 to 169Eligible, thin margin
170 to 189Possible with good science credits
190 to 219Competitive
220 and aboveStrong. It also clears ESUT’s published DPT minimum of 220

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 190, and 220 if ESUT is your second option.

Doctor of Physiotherapy and MRTB approval

Nigerian universities have been moving from the five-year B.PT to the Doctor of Physiotherapy, a longer professional degree. ESUT and SUMAS both advertised the DPT for 2026/2027, and Maduka’s 2026/2027 fee list now uses the same title. Maduka has not published the programme’s length, so ask; DPT programmes in Nigeria are usually six years.

Physiotherapists in Nigeria are registered by the MRTB. I checked MRTB’s accredited institutions page. It does not list Maduka, but it also looks old: its academic entries, such as UNN, show accreditation dates around 2016 with renewals due in 2019. So the page tells you little about new programmes, and I found no newer MRTB list of university programmes. Ask Maduka in writing whether the MRTB has approved or visited its DPT programme.

Maduka’s first NUC accreditation results came from an exercise in October to December 2025. According to the university’s press release on its NUC results (29 July 2026), seven programmes earned full accreditation: Accounting, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Economics and International Relations, with scores between 84.8% and 97.0%, valid until 2030. No health programme was among them. New programmes are usually accredited once their first students reach the later years, so the absence is expected for a university this young.

How Maduka screens Physiotherapy applicants

Maduka has not published a Post-UTME test, an aggregate formula or screening dates for Physiotherapy. None of the 2026/2027 reports mentions a written test. What they describe is an online application: you buy the form, enter your UTME and O’level details, choose a programme and print a slip. After that the university decides and sends its offer through JAMB CAPS. Direct Entry and inter-university transfer candidates are also accepted.

So for a Maduka applicant, the three things that carry weight are the ones you can control: a UTME score comfortably above 150, clean O’level credits in the right subjects, and a complete CAPS profile. If Maduka invites you for a test or interview, the invitation will come from the university directly; ignore anyone who asks for money to “process” it.

Worked example

No official aggregate exists, so this compares scores with 150 and my 190 target. It is an illustration.

  1. Adaeze scored 212: 212 minus 150 = 62 above the minimum and 22 above my target. She is competitive, though 8 short of ESUT’s 220.
  2. Somto scored 174: 174 minus 150 = 24 above the minimum, 16 below my target. He should apply and be ready to consider Medical Laboratory Science or Public Health if offered.
  3. Both: ask for the programme length and MRTB position before paying acceptance.

How to apply to Maduka for Physiotherapy

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN, then take the code to an accredited CBT centre.
  2. Register the right course: pick Physiotherapy with Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If Maduka is not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before the university starts processing admissions.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited centre, have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded so it shows on your CAPS profile. If you wrote two sittings, upload both.
  4. Apply on Maduka’s portal: blogs describe the steps as creating a profile, entering your UTME and O’level details, choosing your programme, paying the form fee (₦5,000 in the 2026/2027 reports) and printing the slip. The enquiry details in the university’s July 2026 press release point to admissions.madukauniversity.edu.ng.
  5. Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept or reject an offer there; an offer that is not on CAPS is not a valid admission.
  6. Pay acceptance and register: the 2026/2027 reports put Maduka’s acceptance fee at ₦50,000, non-refundable, with tuition payable in two instalments on a 60/40 basis. Confirm the amounts on the portal before you pay, and print your JAMB admission letter for clearance.

Warning

Maduka’s management has told the public to deal only with the university’s authorised channels. Pay through the portal or bursary, and accept only an offer that shows on JAMB CAPS.

JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). Public universities had 31 October 2026, and polytechnics and colleges of education have until 31 December 2026. Any Maduka offer for 2026/2027 has to be on CAPS before the private-university date.

If your UTME score falls short, Maduka also runs IJMB and Pre-Degree programmes (reported by Daily Post and summarised on Wikipedia). The 2026/2027 fee reports put its IJMB at ₦800,000 for two semesters, paid at once. IJMB A-level results are one of the routes into 200 level through Direct Entry at many Nigerian universities. Ask Maduka in writing which degree courses its IJMB students can move into before you pay.

Studying Physiotherapy at Maduka University

Maduka University is a private university at Ekwegbe, on the Enugu to Nsukka road in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. It was founded by Dr Samuel Maduka Onyishi, received its NUC licence in 2023 and began its first session in November 2023 with 611 students. The Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Charles Ogbulogo. The 2026/2027 announcement groups the health courses under a College of Medicine and Health Sciences, with Nursing Science and Pharmacy reported as separate faculties.

What you study and where it leads

  • Duration: not published by Maduka; DPT programmes in Nigeria usually run for six years.
  • Early years: basic sciences, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
  • Core physiotherapy: biomechanics, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiopulmonary physiotherapy.
  • Clinical work: supervised postings in hospitals and rehabilitation units.
  • After graduation: MRTB registration and internship.
  • Careers: hospitals, sports teams, rehabilitation centres, private clinics and research.
  • Fees reported: ₦900,000 a session for 2026/2027, up from ₦690,000 in 2025/2026, payable 60/40. Confirm with the bursary.

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus.

Mistakes Physiotherapy applicants make with Maduka

  • Assuming 150 is enough: it makes you eligible for consideration and no more.
  • Not asking the programme length: a DPT is longer than the old B.PT, and each extra year costs another session’s fees.
  • Skipping the MRTB question: registration depends on the board.
  • Dropping Physics: the brochure requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • No O’level on CAPS: no CAPS offer can be made without it.

Sources and updates

The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 private-university deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026), and News Central’s list of institution-declared cut-offs from the same meeting has no Maduka entry. Maduka’s 2026/2027 minimum of 150, its College of Medicine and Health Sciences and the 2026/2027 fees, form fee, acceptance fee and 60/40 instalments come from the university’s 2026/2027 admission announcement as reported by Myschool News (15 May 2026) and The Vent Republic (14 May 2026). I did not see the original notice, because the university’s own website could not be reached. Earlier figures are from AndroidPols (16 November 2025, 2025/2026 fees and 150) and AbsTechConnect (24 May 2026), and Maduka’s programme list by college is from Teezab (16 July 2026). The NUC results for seven programmes are from the university’s press release on its NUC results (29 July 2026). School background is from TheCable and Nairametrics (2023 and 2024), Daily Post (April 2025) and Wikipedia. The JAMB course-list check used universitycourses.ng (updated 1 March 2026) and Myschoolnews (19 July 2023). Subjects are from the JAMB brochure entry for Physiotherapy.
