The Maduka University Radiography cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME. That is the single minimum Maduka gave for the 2026/2027 session in its admission notice, reprinted by Myschool on 15 May 2026, and it is the same as JAMB’s national minimum for universities. Maduka has not published a separate, higher cut-off for Radiography, and it has not published a post-UTME test.
2027/2028 update: Maduka University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Radiography (B.Sc.) sits in Maduka’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences. It appears on the university’s 2026/2027 fee list at a reported ₦1,200,000 a session, and the NUC inspected the programme’s facilities in July 2024. The course is running at Ekwegbe; what I could not confirm is how it appears on JAMB.
Check this first: I could not find Radiography on Maduka University’s JAMB course list. Myschool’s reprint of the list would not open for me, and the only copy I could read (universitycourses.ng, last updated March 2026) shows 18 Maduka courses with no Radiography in it. That copy also leaves out Medicine and Surgery, which Maduka has run since 2024, so it may simply be old. Before you pay for the UTME, confirm that a Radiography course shows under Maduka University on JAMB’s portal. If it doesn’t, look at Radiography at ESUT or UNN, covered further down.

Maduka Radiography cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | Maduka minimum for all programmes | Maduka notice as reprinted by Myschool |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | Maduka minimum reported for all programmes | Blog report (AndroidPols, 16 November 2025) |
| Any session | Not published | Departmental cut-off for Radiography | Maduka has never published one that I could find |
Maduka is a young university. It took in its first students on 23 November 2023, so it has only a short record, and in every session so far the general minimum has been 150. A blog in 2025 said courses such as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Law “may require higher academic standing”. It gave no figure, and Radiography was not named.
Safe target score for Radiography at Maduka (my advice)
These bands are my judgement as an admissions adviser. Maduka has not published them.
| Your UTME score | My read for Radiography at Maduka |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any Maduka degree this session |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible. Your O’level grades in the three sciences will matter most |
| 170 to 199 | Comfortable for a private university |
| 200 and above | Strong, and it also keeps ESUT Radiography (minimum 200) open as a backup |
Radiography places in Nigeria are limited by equipment and clinical posting space, so even a private university cannot take everyone who applies. I would aim for 180 or more in the 2027 UTME, with credits (ideally B3 or better) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. A score of 200 gives you a public-university option as well.
Is Radiography on Maduka University’s JAMB course list?
Whether you can be admitted through CAPS depends on this. JAMB only lets a university admit you into a course that JAMB has listed for that university, and every admission has to go through CAPS. The News Agency of Nigeria reported JAMB’s position in May 2026 that admissions outside CAPS are illegal.
| Source | What it shows | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Maduka 2026/2027 fee list (The Vent Republic) | B.Sc. Radiography, ₦1,200,000 | 14 May 2026 |
| Teezab course list | Radiography under College of Health Sciences | 16 July 2026 |
| NUC resource verification visit | Radiography, Public Health and MBBS inspected | 16 July 2024 |
| Third-party copy of Maduka’s JAMB list (universitycourses.ng) | 18 courses, no Radiography (also no Medicine) | Updated March 2026 |

How to settle it yourself:
- At the CBT centre during UTME registration, ask the operator to select Maduka University and read out the course list. JAMB names radiography courses in several ways, such as “Radiography”, “Medical Radiography” or “Radiography and Radiation Science”. Pick the one listed under Maduka.
- If no radiography course appears, Maduka cannot recommend you for Radiography on CAPS that year. Do not let anyone talk you into registering a different course “to be changed later” without written confirmation from the university.
- Ask Maduka’s admissions office in writing which JAMB course name its Radiography students registered.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Maduka Radiography
| Requirement | Radiography |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry |
| Sittings | Not stated by Maduka; two sittings are commonly accepted, but one is safer |
| Direct Entry | JAMB general rule: two A level passes from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Maduka accepts DE candidates but has not published its own DE rules for Radiography |
| Maduka remark in JAMB brochure | None found |
The UTME and O’level lines are the general requirements in JAMB’s brochure for Radiography, as reprinted by Myschool. The page carries remarks for UNILAG, ABU, UNICAL, UNIMAID, UNIZIK and UNN only; nothing for Maduka. Do not swap Physics for Mathematics in the UTME. Radiography is built on physics, from X-ray production to radiation protection.
For revision, use our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus.
How Maduka screens Radiography candidates
Maduka’s 2026/2027 notice, as reprinted, gives the 150 minimum and says the admission portal opened after JAMB released the 2026 UTME results. Neither it nor any report I found describes a written post-UTME test, an aggregate formula or screening dates. What candidates describe is an online application: you fill the form, upload your results, pay ₦5,000 and print a slip. Expect the university to look at your UTME score, your O’level grades and whether your results are on CAPS.
Worked example for a Radiography candidate
Since there is no published formula, the useful sum is the gap between your score, the 150 minimum and my safe target of 180. This is an illustration, not Maduka’s method.
- Chiamaka scored 176: 176 minus 150 = 26 above the minimum. 180 minus 176 = 4 below my target. With B3 or better in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from one sitting, she is in a good position.
- Ifeanyi scored 158: 158 minus 150 = 8 above the minimum. He is eligible, but he has C6 in Physics. In his place I would apply early and keep Maduka’s Public Health as a second option.
- Both: confirm that Radiography is on Maduka’s JAMB list before relying on this, and check CAPS often after applying.
Maduka Radiography fees
| Programme | 2025/2026 (reported) | 2026/2027 (reported) |
|---|---|---|
| Radiography | ₦690,000 (AndroidPols) | ₦1,200,000 (The Vent Republic) |
| Public Health | ₦690,000 | ₦900,000 |
| Medical Laboratory Science | ₦690,000 | ₦1,200,000 |
| Application form | ₦5,000 | ₦5,000 |
| Acceptance fee | ₦50,000 | ₦50,000 |
The 2026/2027 list was published as a “tuition and accommodation” structure; it does not say clearly whether accommodation is inside the figure. Feeding is pay as you eat. Neither fee list came from a page I could open on Maduka’s own website, so treat both as reported figures and confirm on the portal before paying.
How to apply for Radiography at Maduka, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right course: Choose the radiography course listed under Maduka University (see the JAMB list section above) with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Make Maduka University your first choice. If it is not, do a JAMB change of institution before you apply.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB-accredited centre, with every sitting you want counted. Without it the university cannot recommend you on CAPS.
- Fill Maduka’s online form: reports describe the steps as creating a profile, uploading your UTME result and O’level, choosing the programme, paying the ₦5,000 form fee and printing the slip. Start from the official website, madukauniversity.edu.ng, and pick Radiography on the form.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer there before you pay the school. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and fees: the acceptance fee is reported as ₦50,000 and non-refundable. Reports say tuition can be paid in two instalments of 60% and 40%. Pay only into accounts shown on the official portal.
Warning
Every genuine Maduka offer shows on JAMB CAPS. If someone offers you a Radiography “slot” for money, or asks you to pay into a personal account, walk away. Pay only through the official Maduka portal.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, so Maduka’s 2026/2027 offers have to be on CAPS by then. If you are planning for 2027, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts.
Studying Radiography at Maduka University
Radiography in Nigeria is normally a five-year B.Sc. that trains you to produce and interpret medical images and to use radiation safely. Maduka places it in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, beside Medicine and Surgery, so you would share early science courses with other health students.
Accreditation: what is confirmed and what is not
- NUC visit: on 16 July 2024 the NUC carried out a resource verification for Medicine and Surgery, Public Health and Radiography at Maduka (Nairametrics and TheCable, 20 July 2024). Resource verification is the check done before a new programme takes students. It is not full accreditation.
- NUC accreditation: Maduka announced full accreditation for seven programmes in July 2026: Accounting, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Economics and International Relations. Radiography was not one of them, and I found no NUC accreditation report for it. Status: not confirmed.
- RRBN: the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria registers graduates and approves training schools. I found no record of RRBN approval for Maduka. Status: not confirmed. Ask the department for its RRBN approval letter before you accept.
A young programme without full accreditation yet is normal: the NUC usually accredits a programme once its first students are well into the degree. What matters for you is that the regulators recognise it by the time you graduate, because your RRBN registration and internship depend on that.
What you study and where it leads
- Early years: physics, chemistry and biology, then anatomy, physiology and radiation physics.
- Professional years: radiographic techniques, imaging equipment, ultrasound, CT and MRI principles, radiation protection, patient care and clinical postings.
- After graduation: RRBN registration and a one-year internship, then work in hospital imaging departments, diagnostic centres, radiotherapy units or equipment companies.

Mistakes that cost Radiography applicants a place
- Registering without checking JAMB’s list: if Radiography is not listed under Maduka, CAPS cannot carry the offer.
- Mathematics in place of Physics: JAMB’s combination is Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- O’level not on CAPS: the university cannot recommend you without it.
- Paying before CAPS: accept on CAPS first, then pay the school.
- Ignoring accreditation: ask about RRBN approval; it affects your licence later.
Maduka University Radiography cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
Is 160 enough for Radiography in Maduka University? Yes, 160 is above Maduka’s 150 minimum, so you can apply. With good science credits it can be enough at a private university, but I would aim for 180 or more.
Does Maduka University write post-UTME for Radiography? No test has been published for 2026/2027. Admission is by online application with your UTME score and O’level results.
How much is Radiography school fees in Maduka University? The 2026/2027 fee list reprinted by The Vent Republic shows ₦1,200,000 for Radiography, up from a reported ₦690,000 in 2025/2026. Confirm on the portal before paying.
Is Maduka University Radiography accredited? The NUC inspected it in July 2024, but I found no NUC accreditation report or RRBN approval for it. Ask the university for both before you accept an offer.
