Peaceland University Information Science Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Peaceland University advertised Information Science, but the course is not on JAMB’s list for the university, so there is no cut-off you can apply with. See what to register instead, the subjects, JAMB’s 150 minimum and CAPS steps.

There is no Peaceland University Information Science cut off mark you can use yet. Peaceland University, Enugu listed a B.Sc. Information Science in its 2026/2027 advert, but Information Science is not on JAMB’s course list for Peaceland, and it is missing from the full programme list on Peaceland’s official FAQ page, which names Information Technology in that faculty instead. Because CAPS only offers you a course JAMB holds for that university, you cannot select Information Science at Peaceland when you register. The floor for every Peaceland course you can select is JAMB’s 150 for universities in 2026/2027.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

For a computing-flavoured information degree, register Computer Science at Peaceland, or Software Engineering or Cyber Security, all of which are on JAMB’s list. If you were thinking of Library and Information Science, Peaceland does not have it on JAMB’s list either. Below are the sources side by side, the subjects to write, a safe target score and the CAPS steps.

Does Peaceland University offer Information Science?

Not on any current list. Here is what each source shows:

SourceDoes it list Information Science?
Peaceland 2026/2027 admission advert (28 April 2026)Yes, in the Faculty of Science and Computing, beside Data Science
Peaceland’s official FAQ page (full programme list)No. The Faculty of Science and Computing lists Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Data Science
JAMB’s course list for Peaceland UniversityNo (Information Technology is not there either)
Peaceland homepage highlightsNo
Published lists of NUC-accredited Peaceland programmesNo

The April 2026 advert is the only place the course appears. Peaceland’s current FAQ has B.Sc Information Technology where you might expect it; the university may have renamed the course, but it has not said so, and Information Technology is not on JAMB’s Peaceland list either. Peaceland has also not said what an Information Science degree there would cover or whether it took any students in 2026/2027. “Information Science” means different things at different Nigerian universities: some use it for a computing degree close to Information Systems or Information Technology, others for a library and records degree, and others (such as the “Information Science and Media Studies” entry in JAMB’s brochure) for a mix of computing and media. Ask Peaceland which one it means.

Before you pay any fee, write to the Admissions Office and ask: is B.Sc. Information Science admitting this session, which JAMB course should you register, and can you transfer into it after admission? Keep the written answer.

Alternatives to Information Science at Peaceland University

CourseOn JAMB’s Peaceland list?On published accredited lists?Good fit if you want
Computer ScienceYesYesInformation systems, databases, programming
Software EngineeringYesYesBuilding applications and information systems
Cyber SecurityYesYesProtecting information and networks
Health Information ManagementYesNoHealth records and hospital information work

Health Information Management is a different course with different subjects (it sits in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences), but it is the one Peaceland course on JAMB’s list that is mostly about managing information. If records and archives are your interest and you want a degree titled Library and Information Science, you will need another university; check JAMB’s e-brochure for schools that list it.

Safe target score for Information Science or Computer Science at Peaceland (my advice)

This is my judgement, not a Peaceland rule. You will most likely be registered for Computer Science, which tends to be the most crowded science course at Nigerian universities, private ones included.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Computer Science at Peaceland
Below 150Not eligible for any Nigerian university this session
150 to 169Eligible; good Mathematics and Physics grades help
170 to 189A fair chance with all five credits
190 and aboveStrong

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 180 or more.

JAMB subject combination and O’level for Information Science at Peaceland

JAMB’s brochure has no plain “Information Science” entry I could find. The nearest computing entry, Information Science and Media Studies (offered by other universities), carries exactly the same line as Computer Science. Since Computer Science is what you would register at Peaceland, that is the line to meet. Neither entry has a Peaceland remark.

RequirementJAMB line (Computer Science; same for Information Science and Media Studies)
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other science subjects
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other science or social science subject
Peaceland-specific remarksNone

I would write Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. It meets the Computer Science line in full, and Chemistry keeps Peaceland’s other science courses within reach. Arts and commercial students should notice that Physics is fixed here, so this route is closed to anyone without Physics.

How Peaceland screens computing candidates

No Post-UTME test, dates or aggregate formula for 2026/2027 has been published in any source I could reach. Peaceland’s website says undergraduate admission for 2026/2027 is open, applications go through its e-admission page, there are no authorised agents, and payment goes only through the official portal or the Admissions Office. Its fee schedule lists ₦320,000 at 100 level for the Faculty of Science and Computing, with a ₦10,000 form and ₦10,000 acceptance fee.

Worked example

Ebuka scored 172 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Government, hoping for Information Science.

  1. Course: Information Science cannot be chosen for Peaceland on JAMB.
  2. Score: 172 minus 150 = 22 above JAMB’s minimum.
  3. Subjects: no Physics, so he does not meet the Computer Science line either.
  4. What fits: his subjects suit Peaceland’s social science and management courses, such as Economics. If he wants computing, he needs Physics in the 2027 UTME and a Physics credit at O’level.

How to apply to Peaceland for a computing course, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME: choose Peaceland University and Computer Science (or Software Engineering or Cyber Security), with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. To change schools later, use JAMB change of institution.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre.
  4. Ask about Information Science in writing: before you pay anything.
  5. Apply on Peaceland’s portal: through the e-admission link on peacelanduni.edu.ng, paying only through the portal.
  6. Accept on CAPS: at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, under Check Admission Status, within JAMB’s four weeks. See our JAMB CAPS guide.
  7. If JAMB later lists Information Science for Peaceland: switch through a JAMB change of course before admission.

Warning

An “Information Science admission” sold to you outside JAMB CAPS is not a valid admission. Peaceland says it has no authorised agents; pay only through its portal or Admissions Office.

Peaceland College of Education, Enugu is a separate institution that admits NCE students and does not award the university’s B.Sc. degrees.

What an Information Science degree usually covers

Peaceland has published no curriculum, duration or department for its Information Science. Computing-type Information Science degrees in Nigeria usually run four years for UTME entrants and cover:

  • Foundations: mathematics, statistics and introductory programming.
  • Information systems: databases, systems analysis and design, networks and the web.
  • Information management: organising, retrieving and preserving information, records and digital archives.
  • Careers: systems and database administration, IT support, records and information management, data analysis, and digital library roles.

On accreditation: Peaceland posted on 1 May 2026 that NUC fully accredited several programmes after an October and November 2025 evaluation. The fuller lists from DTW Tutorials, Myschoolgist and Allschool include Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering but not Information Science.

Planning for next year? See when JAMB 2027 registration starts.

Mistakes Information Science applicants make with Peaceland

  • Trusting the advert alone: CAPS works from JAMB’s list, not the advert.
  • Assuming it is a library course: Peaceland has not said what its Information Science covers.
  • No Physics: the computing alternatives require it in the UTME and at O’level.
  • Ignoring the calendar: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities.

Peaceland Information Science cut off mark: frequently asked questions

Is Information Science on JAMB’s list for Peaceland University? No. When I checked on 30 October 2026, JAMB’s list of 30 Peaceland courses did not include it, and neither did Peaceland’s own FAQ programme list, although the April 2026 advert did.

What is the cut off mark for Information Science in Peaceland University? There is none, because the course cannot yet be chosen through JAMB. JAMB’s 150 minimum applies to every Peaceland course you can register.

Which course should I choose in JAMB instead of Information Science at Peaceland? Computer Science is the closest, with Software Engineering and Cyber Security as other options. Register with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Does Peaceland University offer Library and Information Science? No. It is not on JAMB’s course list for Peaceland or in its 2026/2027 advert.
