Peaceland University Data Science Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Peaceland University advertised Data Science, but the course is not on JAMB’s list for the university, so it has no cut-off you can apply with. See what to register instead, the subjects, JAMB’s 150 minimum and the CAPS steps.

There is no Peaceland University Data Science cut off mark you can apply with yet. Peaceland University, Enugu advertised a B.Sc. Data Science for 2026/2027 and lists it in the Faculty of Science and Computing on its official FAQ page, but Data Science is not on JAMB’s course list for Peaceland. JAMB only lets you pair a university with a course it holds for that university, so you cannot choose “Data Science” at Peaceland when you register. The minimum that does apply to every Peaceland course is JAMB’s 150 for universities in 2026/2027.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

If data is what you want to study, the practical route is to register Computer Science at Peaceland (or Software Engineering or Cyber Security, which are also on JAMB’s list), then ask the university in writing whether Data Science is admitting and how students get into it. This page shows what each source says, the subjects to write, my safe target score and the CAPS steps.

Does Peaceland University offer Data Science?

The sources disagree, and the one that matters for admission says no.

Every UTME admission into a Nigerian university goes through JAMB CAPS, and CAPS can only match you to a course JAMB holds for that school. Until JAMB adds Data Science for Peaceland, a UTME candidate cannot be offered it directly. Peaceland treats the course as its own, so it may be waiting for JAMB to list it, but it has not explained how it admits Data Science students in the meantime.

My advice: do not pay a Peaceland form fee for Data Science on the strength of the advert or FAQ alone. Email or write to the Admissions Office and ask three things: is B.Sc. Data Science admitting this session, which JAMB course should you register, and can you move into Data Science after admission. Keep the written reply.

Alternatives to Data Science at Peaceland University

CourseOn JAMB’s Peaceland list?On published accredited lists? Why consider it
Computer ScienceYesYesClosest to Data Science: programming, algorithms, databases, statistics
Software EngineeringYesYesProgramming-heavy; suits building data products
Cyber SecurityYesYesComputing degree with a security focus
Physics with ElectronicsYesYesStrong mathematics, a route into data work through postgraduate study

Data Science grew out of computer science and statistics, so a Computer Science degree with electives and projects in machine learning and data analysis gets you most of the way. Many data analysts and data scientists working in Nigeria today studied Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Economics.

If you are set on a degree titled Data Science, look for a university where JAMB lists it. Check the JAMB e-brochure on your profile before you register, because new courses are added through the year.

Safe target score for Data Science or Computer Science at Peaceland (my advice)

This is my judgement, not a Peaceland rule. Computing courses are the most crowded science courses at most Nigerian universities, private ones included. Peaceland’s intake is also capped by its NUC quota; its Pro-Chancellor said at the second matriculation that qualified applicants were being turned away (TheCable).

Your UTME scoreMy read for Computer Science at Peaceland
Below 150Not eligible for any Nigerian university this session
150 to 169Eligible; strong Mathematics and Physics grades help
170 to 189A fair chance with all five credits
190 and aboveStrong

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 180 or more. If Data Science does open through JAMB, that score should cover it as well.

JAMB subject combination and O’level for Data Science at Peaceland

JAMB’s Data Science brochure entries would not load when I checked on 30 October 2026, so I cannot quote their line. What you can rely on is the line for Computer Science, the course you would actually register at Peaceland. JAMB’s brochure has no Peaceland remark on it.

RequirementJAMB brochure line for Computer Science
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other science subjects
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other science or social science subject
Peaceland-specific remarksNone

I would write Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. That set meets Computer Science, and Chemistry is the fourth subject that also fits Peaceland’s science courses if you are moved on CAPS. Economics is allowed for Computer Science but narrows your options. At O’level, Economics and Commerce do not count as the two “other science subjects”; Chemistry and Biology are the usual pair.

How Peaceland screens computing candidates

Peaceland has not published a Post-UTME test, dates or aggregate formula for 2026/2027 in any source I could reach. Its website says undergraduate admission for 2026/2027 is open, that you apply through its e-admission page, that it has no authorised agents, and that payment goes only through the official portal or the Admissions Office. Its fee schedule lists ₦320,000 at 100 level for the Faculty of Science and Computing, with a ₦10,000 form and ₦10,000 acceptance fee.

Worked example for a would-be Data Science student

Kosi scored 184 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with five credits including Mathematics and Physics.

  1. Course choice: Data Science is not selectable for Peaceland, so she registers Computer Science.
  2. Score: 184 minus 150 = 34 above JAMB’s minimum, and above my 180 target.
  3. Subjects: her combination meets the Computer Science line in full.
  4. Data Science question: she writes to the Admissions Office before paying and decides based on the written answer.

How to apply to Peaceland for a computing course, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME: choose Peaceland University and Computer Science (or Software Engineering or Cyber Security), with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. To switch schools later, use JAMB change of institution.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre.
  4. Ask about Data Science in writing: before paying any Peaceland fee.
  5. Apply on Peaceland’s portal: through the e-admission link on peacelanduni.edu.ng, paying only through the portal.
  6. Accept on CAPS: at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, under Check Admission Status, within JAMB’s four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. If JAMB later lists Data Science for Peaceland: you can move to it through a JAMB change of course before admission.

Warning

Anyone who offers to get you “Data Science admission” at Peaceland outside JAMB CAPS is offering something JAMB does not recognise. Peaceland says it has no authorised agents, and payment goes only through its portal or Admissions Office.

Peaceland College of Education, Enugu is a separate institution that admits NCE students; it does not run the university’s B.Sc. programmes.

What a Data Science degree covers

Peaceland’s FAQ places Data Science in the Faculty of Science and Computing but gives no curriculum or duration. A Nigerian B.Sc. in a computing discipline normally runs four years for UTME entrants. In general, a Data Science degree covers:

  • Mathematics and statistics: calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistical inference.
  • Programming: Python or R, data structures and algorithms.
  • Data handling: databases, SQL, data cleaning and visualisation.
  • Machine learning: models for prediction and classification, and the ethics of using data.
  • Careers: data analyst, data scientist, business intelligence and research roles in banks, telecoms, fintech, health and government.

On accreditation: Peaceland posted on 1 May 2026 that NUC fully accredited several of its programmes after an October and November 2025 evaluation. The fuller lists published by DTW Tutorials, Myschoolgist and Allschool include Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering, but not Data Science.

Planning for next year? See when JAMB 2027 registration starts.

Mistakes Data Science applicants make with Peaceland

  • Trusting the advert alone: JAMB’s list is what CAPS uses.
  • Dropping Physics: the Computer Science line requires it in the UTME and at O’level.
  • Paying for a promised Data Science slot: offers outside CAPS are not valid admissions.
  • Ignoring the calendar: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities.

Peaceland Data Science cut off mark: frequently asked questions

Does Peaceland University offer Data Science through JAMB? No, not when I checked on 30 October 2026. Peaceland lists B.Sc. Data Science on its own FAQ page and in its 2026/2027 advert, but JAMB’s course list for Peaceland does not include it.

What is the cut off mark for Data Science in Peaceland University? There is none, because the course cannot yet be chosen through JAMB. JAMB’s 150 minimum applies to every Peaceland course you can register.

What course should I choose in JAMB if I want Data Science at Peaceland? Computer Science is the closest course on Peaceland’s JAMB list. Register it with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and ask Peaceland in writing about moving to Data Science.

Is Peaceland Data Science accredited by NUC? I found no evidence of it. The published lists of Peaceland programmes NUC fully accredited include Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering, but not Data Science.
