OSISATECH Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

OSISATECH Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology cut-off mark for 2027/2028: JAMB’s 100 minimum, OSISATECH’s 140 guidance, UTME subjects (Chemistry required), O’level credits, fees and CAPS steps.

The OSISATECH cut-off mark for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology starts at 100, JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. Our Saviour Institute of Science and Technology, Enugu has no departmental figure, but its official FAQ says applicants who score 140 and above are likely to be admitted. The course is on JAMB’s list for OSISATECH under the name Electrical / Electronics Engineering Technology, and it also appears on the school’s older list of NBTE-accredited courses at both ND and HND level.

2027/2028 update: OSISATECH cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Read on for the figures and their sources, my safe target score, the UTME and O’level rules from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure, how OSISATECH’s admission works, a worked example, the CAPS steps and what an ND in this course leads to.

OSISATECH Electrical/Electronics cut-off mark: the official figures

Two figures matter. The first is JAMB’s. At its 2026 policy meeting JAMB kept the minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics at 100 for 2026/2027 (NAN, 11 May 2026), the same figure it set for 2025/2026 (Nairametrics, 8 July 2025). Below 100 no polytechnic can admit you.

The second is OSISATECH’s own. Its official FAQ page, published in September 2021, says the cut-off is reviewed every year and that, for now, applicants who score 140 and above are likely to be admitted. That line covers all courses; there is no separate figure for Electrical/Electronics Engineering. The school has not posted a newer number, so 140 is the best guide to what OSISATECH expects.

If a blog quotes a different OSISATECH departmental cut-off for Electrical/Electronics Engineering, ask for the school notice behind it. I could not find one.

Safe target score (consultant advice)

I would aim for 150 or more. This is my planning figure, not an OSISATECH one. It sits clear of the school’s 140 line, which dates from 2021 and is reviewed yearly, and it leaves IMT Enugu and Fed Poly Ohodo within reach as backups.

Your UTME scoreWhat it means at OSISATECH
Below 100Not eligible for any polytechnic
100 to 139Eligible on paper, but below OSISATECH’s own 140 guidance
140 to 149Within OSISATECH’s guidance
150 and aboveComfortable at OSISATECH, with Enugu backups open

UTME subject combination for Electrical/Electronics at OSISATECH

JAMB’s polytechnic brochure asks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with Use of English compulsory (brochure entry). Four schools have UTME remarks: IMT Enugu accepts Biology, Auchi asks for Further Mathematics, Statistics or Economics, SURE-POLY repeats the standard set, and Fed Poly Bauchi allows one of several subjects in place of Chemistry. OSISATECH has no remark.

SubjectStatus at OSISATECH
Use of EnglishCompulsory
MathematicsCompulsory
PhysicsCompulsory
ChemistryCompulsory
Biology instead of ChemistryAccepted at IMT Enugu only, not OSISATECH

This catches some Enugu candidates out. A friend at IMT may tell you Biology is fine, and for IMT it is. For OSISATECH you must sit Chemistry.

O’level requirements for OSISATECH Electrical/Electronics

The brochure asks for five credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and any two from a list: Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography, and Economics or Commerce. In JAMB’s main text English is one of the optional subjects, but OSISATECH’s own admission page requires credits in English Language and Mathematics for every ND applicant. So at OSISATECH, English is compulsory.

RequirementDetail
Number of creditsFive
Compulsory creditsMathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language
Fifth subjectBasic Electricity, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Biology or another listed subject
SittingsNo more than two (OSISATECH admission page)
Exams acceptedWAEC, GCE O’level, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent

NABTEB candidates have an advantage here, because trade subjects such as Basic Electricity count as one of the two extra credits.

HND and Direct Entry

The brochure’s Direct Entry section for this course is empty, and HND entry does not use the UTME. OSISATECH asks HND applicants for an ND result from an accredited polytechnic, and the 2018 schoolings.org list shows Electrical/Electronics at ND and HND in the School of Technology. NBTE runs HND options such as Power and Machines and Electronics and Telecommunications nationally; which options OSISATECH offers is not published. See our OSISATECH HND guide.

OSISATECH also runs part-time ND, and its admission page says part-time applicants do not need the UTME. A 2018 blog list of OSISATECH courses (schoolings.org) shows Electrical/Electronics Engineering under the School of Continuing Education as well. If you missed the UTME, ask the school whether part-time Electrical/Electronics Engineering is admitting and how long it runs before you pay; the details are not on the website.

OSISATECH screening and a worked example

OSISATECH’s FAQ page says the school does not currently hold a post-UTME exam, that applicants who passed JAMB and have good O’level results can apply, and that you first present your credentials to the admission officer at the Ogui campus for validation, then pay for the form at Ohha Microfinance Bank, #1 Ogui Road. The fees page lists the form at N10,000. The admission page also says forms are bought at the school, so plan to go in person. The school’s published email for questions is osisatechinstitute@gmail.com.

Without a test, your ranking is likely to rest on your UTME score and your O’level grades, which is why the worked example below uses only those two.

Worked example (illustrative)

Tobenna scored 152 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. He has two sittings: WAEC with English C6, Mathematics C4 and Physics C5, and NABTEB with Chemistry C6 and Basic Electricity B3. Two sittings are allowed, and he has all four compulsory credits.

Using a 50/50 UTME and O’level mix only as an illustration: 152 divided by 8 gives 19. With A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6 and C6 = 5, his grades give 5 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 8 = 31. His illustrative total is 50 out of 100. OSISATECH publishes no formula, so this is a self-check. Tobenna clears the school’s 140 line and my 150 target, so his weak point is the two C6 grades, not his score.

How to apply for Electrical/Electronics at OSISATECH

  1. Create your JAMB profile: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line you will use for JAMB. The reply carries your profile code.
  2. Pick OSISATECH and Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology: JAMB lists the school as Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agric. & Tech. Choose it at registration, or move to it later with a JAMB change of institution.
  3. Write the UTME: aim for 150 or more, then check your JAMB result.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB accredited centre, and upload both results if you are using two sittings. A school cannot recommend you on CAPS without them.
  5. Validate and buy the form: take your JAMB result and O’level certificates to the admission officer at the Ogui campus, #1 Ogui Road, Enugu, then pay for the form (N10,000 on the 2021 fees page) at Ohha Microfinance Bank.
  6. Accept on CAPS: JAMB’s 2026 rules give you four weeks to accept an offer before it can lapse. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows the screens.
  7. Pay and register: print your JAMB admission letter, pay school fees at Ohha Microfinance Bank and keep every receipt. Your student portal is osisatech.skool-board.com.

JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education, so the current cycle runs until 31 December 2026. If you chose a different course or school on your JAMB form, use JAMB change of course together with change of institution before then.

What OSISATECH charges (older official figures)

OSISATECH’s fees page lists one set of charges for its ND, HND and NCE students, payable at Ohha Microfinance Bank on Ogui Road. The page was last changed in March 2021 and names no session, so treat these as a guide and confirm the current amounts before you pay. The 2021 FAQ adds that OSISATECH charges no acceptance fee; you still accept the offer on JAMB CAPS.

Warning

JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. A full-time ND place at OSISATECH must show on your CAPS page before you pay school fees. Do not pay anyone who offers a place without it.

Your chances and backup options

With no published intake numbers, this is my judgement. A first-choice candidate with 140 or more, the four compulsory credits and an early CAPS upload should be in a good position at OSISATECH. Below 140, prepare a backup.

What you study in ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology

OSISATECH’s own outline is not online. The NBTE national curriculum for the ND generally covers:

  • Electrical circuit theory and electrical measurements
  • Electronics, from components to basic circuits
  • Electrical machines, power and installation work
  • Engineering mathematics and technical drawing
  • Workshop practice in wiring, soldering and fault finding
  • A project and the general ND courses in communication and entrepreneurship

SIWES places you with an employer, such as an electricity distribution company, a factory or a contractor, between the first and second years. Your ND grade decides HND entry.

Duration and accreditation

The full-time ND takes two years. OSISATECH says NBTE approved its ND admissions in December 1991, and the 2018 schoolings.org list names Electrical/Electronics among its NBTE-accredited courses, but that article cites no NBTE document and I found no current NBTE record for the programme. Treat accreditation as not confirmed and ask the department for its NBTE letter before paying fees.

Careers

  • Electrical installation and maintenance technician
  • Technician roles with power distribution and generation companies
  • Repair of electronic equipment, solar and inverter installation
  • Self-employment as an electrical contractor (after the relevant licensing)
  • HND, or Direct Entry into a university engineering degree

For the UTME itself, our JAMB Chemistry syllabus guide covers the subject that trips most engineering candidates.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Copying IMT’s rule: Biology in place of Chemistry works at IMT, not at OSISATECH.
  • Skipping English at O’level: OSISATECH requires the credit even though JAMB’s main text lists it as optional.
  • Using three sittings: the limit is two.
  • Forgetting the CAPS upload.
  • Paying before your admission shows on CAPS.

OSISATECH Electrical/Electronics Engineering cut-off mark: FAQs

What is the cut-off mark for Electrical Engineering in OSISATECH? JAMB’s minimum is 100, and OSISATECH’s FAQ says 140 and above are likely to be admitted. I suggest 150 or more.

Can I write Biology instead of Chemistry for OSISATECH Electrical/Electronics? No. JAMB allows that swap only for IMT Enugu. OSISATECH follows the standard set of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Is NABTEB accepted for Electrical/Electronics at OSISATECH? Yes. OSISATECH’s admission page lists NABTEB among the accepted exams, and you can combine it with WAEC or NECO as long as you use no more than two sittings.

Does OSISATECH run HND Electrical/Electronics? A 2018 list of the school’s accredited courses shows it at HND level. Ask the department which HND options it is admitting into this session.
