OSISATECH has not published a cut-off mark for Cooperative Economics and Management. What applies is JAMB’s 100, the minimum UTME score for every polytechnic in 2026/2027. Our Saviour Institute of Science and Technology’s own FAQ adds a softer guide: candidates scoring 140 and above are likely to be admitted, with the figure reviewed each year.
2027/2028 update: OSISATECH cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Cooperative Economics and Management is on JAMB’s list of courses for OSISATECH, so UTME candidates can choose it. It also has one of the widest UTME subject menus of any business course, which makes it a practical choice for candidates whose subjects mix arts, sciences and commercial subjects. Below are the figures, the subject rules, the admission process and how the course compares with the specialist cooperative college at Oji River.

Cooperative Economics cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (JAMB policy meeting, reported by NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (2025 policy meeting, reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Not dated (FAQ last updated October 2021) | 140 | Score OSISATECH says makes admission “likely” | OSISATECH FAQ page; reviewed yearly |
| Any year | None | Departmental cut-off for this course | Never published by OSISATECH |
No year-by-year departmental figure exists for this course. Cooperative Economics draws fewer applicants than Accountancy or Business Administration in most polytechnics, so I expect the practical bar at OSISATECH to sit close to the school’s general guide. That is a reasonable reading, not a published number.
Safe target score for Cooperative Economics at OSISATECH (my advice)
OSISATECH has not published this table. It is my advice.
| Your UTME score | My read for Cooperative Economics at OSISATECH |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for full-time ND at any polytechnic |
| 100 to 139 | Eligible under JAMB rules, below the score the school calls likely; possible, but don’t count on it |
| 140 to 159 | At or above OSISATECH’s own “likely” line |
| 160 and above | Comfortable. This is the range I would aim for |
I would plan for at least 150 in the 2027 UTME, and 160 if you also want a strong chance at a public option such as IMT Enugu or the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Cooperative Economics and Management
| Requirement | What JAMB’s brochure says |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English (compulsory) + Mathematics + any two of Economics, Geography, Biology or Agricultural Science, History, Government, Commerce, Principles of Accounts |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language (not Literature in English), Mathematics, and any three of Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| Sittings | Not more than two (OSISATECH admission page) |
| OSISATECH remark on the brochure | None. The general rule applies |
| Other schools’ remarks | IMTE, FEDCOOP-OJI, Nekede and Imo State Poly have their own rules that do not apply to OSISATECH |
| Direct Entry | Brochure section is blank; OSISATECH mentions year-two entry for NCE or ND holders |
The useful part of this combination is how much it accepts. A science-leaning candidate can sit English, Mathematics, Biology and Economics; an arts-leaning one can use Government and History. Mathematics is the one subject you cannot drop at UTME level for OSISATECH.
You may see that the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, accepts a Mathematics pass instead of a credit. That concession is written into the brochure for FEDCOOP-OJI only. At OSISATECH you need a credit in Mathematics, along with a credit in English Language.
How OSISATECH admits Cooperative Economics candidates
There is no Post-UTME test. OSISATECH’s FAQ says candidates who passed the UTME and have good O’level results can apply by taking their credentials to the admission officer at the Ogui Road campus for validation. After that, the school recommends candidates on JAMB CAPS, and you accept there.
Worked example (illustrative)
Emeka scored 136 in English, Mathematics, Biology and Economics. From WAEC and NECO combined he has credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Economics and Agricultural Science.
- JAMB floor: 136 minus 100 = 36 above the minimum.
- School guide: 140 minus 136 = 4 marks short of the score OSISATECH calls likely.
- Subjects: Mathematics, Biology and Economics are all on the brochure list, so his combination is valid.
- O’level: five credits in two sittings meets the rule.
- My advice: apply, because he is eligible and close to the guide. Upload O’level to CAPS straight away and check his CAPS status every few days, since the school will not necessarily call him.
If Emeka had written Physics instead of Economics, his combination would still be valid only if Economics, Geography or another listed subject made up the second slot. Physics is not on the general UTME list for this course.
How to apply for Cooperative Economics and Management at OSISATECH, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick Cooperative Economics and Management with English, Mathematics and two subjects from the brochure list. JAMB lists the school as “Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agric. & Tech.”
- Write the UTME and clear the minimum: 100 is the JAMB floor for polytechnics; aim well above it.
- Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre. A result that is not on CAPS cannot be used for your admission.
- Change institution if needed: if OSISATECH was not your choice at registration, do a JAMB change of institution first.
- Buy the OSISATECH form: the school’s FAQ says you take your credentials to the admission officer at the Ogui campus (#1 Ogui Road, Enugu) for validation, then pay at Ohha Microfinance Bank. Its fees page says admission is not currently done online.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay fees and register: pay at the bank named by the school, then complete registration. Returning students use the portal at osisatech.skool-board.com.
Warning
OSISATECH says its fees can only be paid at OHHA Microfinance Bank, #1 Ogui Road, Enugu. Do not pay anyone who offers to “process” your admission, and do not accept an admission letter that never shows up on JAMB CAPS. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal.
JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education to finish admissions.
OSISATECH fees for Cooperative Economics and Management students
OSISATECH does not list Cooperative Economics and Management separately on its fees page. It charges the same amounts for every ND, NCE and HND student. The page carries no session label and was last modified on 19 March 2021, so treat these as the most recent official figures, which may have risen since.
| Fee item | Amount | How often |
|---|---|---|
| School fees and accommodation | ₦36,000 | Per semester |
| Portal/ICT fee | ₦3,000 | Per semester |
| Utility fee | ₦3,000 | Per semester |
| Admission form | ₦10,000 | First year only |
| Matriculation fee | ₦10,000 | First year only |
| Medical insurance | ₦5,000 | First year only |
| Sports levy | ₦12,000 | First year only |
| Founder’s anniversary | ₦1,000 | First year only |
Adding those up (my arithmetic, not an OSISATECH total), a first-year ND student on the 2021 figures would pay ₦84,000 across two semesters plus ₦38,000 in one-off charges: about ₦122,000, with accommodation included in the semester fee. The school’s FAQ page (last updated October 2021) also says there is no acceptance fee. Ask the admission office for the current schedule before you pay anything, because 2021 prices are unlikely to have held.
Studying Cooperative Economics and Management at OSISATECH
The ND takes two years full-time, including SIWES. After the ND, a year of industrial training qualifies you to apply for HND. OSISATECH also runs part-time ND, which does not require the UTME according to its admission page.
What you study
- Cooperative principles, history and law, including how cooperative societies are registered and run.
- Cooperative accounting, auditing and business finance.
- Microfinance, savings and credit, and agricultural and consumer cooperatives.
- Economics, rural development, business statistics and a final project.
Accreditation
NBTE approved OSISATECH to admit ND students in December 1991, according to the school’s About page, and NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists it as a private polytechnic (serial 101, P.M.B. 01161, Enugu). The programme-level accreditation status of Cooperative Economics and Management is not confirmed: the directory’s programme tables could not be read, and OSISATECH does not publish it. Before you pay, ask the admission office to show you the current NBTE accreditation for the course. It affects whether you can move on to HND and how employers treat the ND.
Careers
Graduates work in thrift and credit societies, multipurpose cooperatives, microfinance banks, the cooperative departments of state ministries, development NGOs and farm produce marketing. It also suits anyone who wants to set up or manage a cooperative business.

Mistakes Cooperative Economics applicants make
- Assuming the Oji River concession applies: OSISATECH needs a Mathematics credit.
- Writing Physics or Chemistry as an extra subject: neither is on the general UTME list for this course.
- Waiting for a Post-UTME date: OSISATECH does not hold one, so buy the form once your result is out.
- Ignoring CAPS: an offer you have not accepted on CAPS can lapse.
