The Madonna University cut off mark for Computer Engineering is 150. Madonna’s 2026/2027 admission page uses 150 as the general minimum and lists higher figures only for Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing, so Computer Engineering at the Akpugo campus in Enugu State takes the 150 line, which is JAMB’s national minimum for universities too. For the 2027 UTME I advise aiming for 180.
2027/2028 update: Madonna University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Course check: Computer Engineering is on Madonna’s JAMB course list under the exact name “Computer Engineering”, and Madonna’s own department page places it at the Akpugo campus. The same JAMB list also has Computer Science, Cyber Security and Information Technology, which are separate degrees in Madonna’s Faculty of Computing, so register the one you actually want.
Accreditation check: Madonna’s page says the department “has been given full approval to function by NUC”. Approval to run a course is not the same as an accreditation result, and I found no NUC report or COREN record for Madonna Computer Engineering. Ask for the current letters before you pay.

Madonna has never published a separate figure for Computer Engineering. Its general minimum applies.

Madonna’s two official pages disagree on the higher courses. The admission page lists Law 190, Medicine 180, Pharmacy 160 and Nursing 170, while the undergraduate page says those four need 200. Neither page names any engineering course, and both say 150 applies to everything else, so the conflict does not change the figure for engineering candidates at Akpugo. Aggregator pages that still print 140 are repeating the 2021/2022 notice; 140 is now below JAMB’s legal floor.
Safe target score for Computer Engineering at Madonna (my advice)
This is my judgement, since Madonna publishes no departmental figure. Computer Engineering is one of the most requested engineering courses in the country, so I set the target at 180.

Madonna University Computer Engineering subject combination and O’level requirements
I checked the JAMB brochure entry for Computer Engineering on Myschool. There is no Madonna remark on it, and the only universities allowed to replace Further Mathematics with another science are ABUAD and OOU.

Do you need Further Mathematics for Computer Engineering at Madonna?
JAMB’s brochure line for Computer Engineering lists Further Mathematics as one of the five O’level credits, and Madonna is not among the universities with a waiver. Madonna’s department page is softer: it calls Further Mathematics desirable and says it gives candidates an added advantage. The two sources disagree, and the brochure is what admission officers check on CAPS. If you can still sit Further Mathematics in WAEC or NECO, do it. If you already have five credits without it, ask the Akpugo admissions office in writing whether they will accept you before you pay the medical test fee.
Points Computer Engineering applicants get wrong
- Registering Computer Science by mistake: it is a different course with different O’level rules and sits in the Faculty of Computing.
- No Further Mathematics: see above. It is the most common reason a good score fails at this course.
- Biology in the UTME: the line is Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only.
- Three sittings: Madonna caps O’level results at two sittings.
Direct Entry into Computer Engineering
Madonna’s page accepts A level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and considers OND holders for 200 level and HND holders for 300 level if they have at least an upper credit. JAMB’s line asks for three A level passes in Pure Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Register Direct Entry through JAMB, and bring your O’level credits too.
How Madonna screens Computer Engineering applicants
Madonna does not advertise a written post-UTME examination. Its admission page says the screening and admission forms are free and that every fresh applicant for 2026/2027 pays a ₦30,000 medical test fee. You generate an invoice on the portal (it begins with MNT), then pay through Quickteller or at any commercial bank. Legit.ng reported the same fee on 14 September 2026. Older blog posts mention a ₦6,000 medical fee paid at Mayfresh Mortgage Bank; that is the old arrangement, so follow the portal invoice.

Worked example for a Computer Engineering candidate
Without a published formula, check yourself against the 150 floor, my 180 target and the subject rules.
Tobenna scored 192 with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. In one NECO sitting he has credits in English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and a pass in Technical Drawing.
- Legal floor: 192 is above 150.
- My safe target: 192 clears 180 by 12 marks.
- UTME subjects: the required combination.
- O’level: all five JAMB credits, Further Mathematics included. He qualifies, and the Technical Drawing is a bonus Madonna’s page mentions.
Illustration only: on the 50:50 aggregate used by many Nigerian universities, 192 divided by 8 gives 24 of the 50 UTME points. Madonna has not said it uses this or any formula.
Is Computer Engineering at Madonna accredited?
Not confirmed. Madonna’s department page says NUC gave the department full approval to function and does not mention COREN. NUC’s report pages for Madonna (listed as Madonna University, Okija) cover Anatomy, Physiology, Marketing and Business Education, all graded Full in November 2024, with nothing for engineering; NUC’s full results list cannot be read past Crawford University, and COREN’s published visit reports do not include Madonna.
Approval lets a university start a course; accreditation is the later NUC visit that grades it Full, Interim or Denied. For an engineering degree you also want COREN accreditation, since it affects registration as an engineer. Ask the department for its latest NUC and COREN letters naming Computer Engineering before you pay acceptance.
How to apply for Computer Engineering at Madonna, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your NIN.
- Register the right course: pick Madonna University and the course listed by JAMB as “Computer Engineering”, with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus Use of English. If Madonna was not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution; JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre as soon as your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. Madonna lets awaiting-result candidates apply, but CAPS cannot carry an offer until the upload is done.
- Create your Madonna applicant account: on the portal at madonna.skool-board.com, choose Computer Engineering and note your applicant number.
- Pay the medical test fee: generate the ₦30,000 MNT invoice on the portal and pay through Quickteller or a commercial bank. Keep the receipt.
- Attend the medical examination and oral interview: at the admissions office of the campus you chose. For engineering, ask whether it holds at Akpugo.
- Check and accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept or reject offers in 2026. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay school charges to Madonna only: Madonna has not published an acceptance fee. Ask the bursary for the full first-year bill in writing and pay only through the portal or channels it names.
Admission outside CAPS is illegal
JAMB and the News Agency of Nigeria have both stated that any admission given outside CAPS is illegal. A real Madonna offer always shows on your JAMB CAPS page, so do not pay anyone who promises a place in exchange for money.
Studying Computer Engineering at Madonna
Madonna describes a full-time five-year B.Eng that stresses hardware and software engineering, microprocessor systems, computer architecture and system programming, along with designing computer systems and building networks. The breakdown below is the usual shape of the degree in Nigeria; Madonna has not published its course outline.

Madonna’s page lists the computer, communication, instrumentation and semiconductor industries, in networking, telecoms and product design. Graduates also work as embedded systems developers, network engineers, IT infrastructure staff and software developers. Registration as an engineer is with COREN; computing professionals can also register with the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria.
Computer Engineering school fees at Madonna
Madonna’s fees page could not be opened. Legit.ng’s Madonna fees article (updated 5 May 2026) shows ₦370,000 for the first semester and ₦230,000 for the second, ₦600,000 in all, against Computer Engineering and the other engineering courses, but the table carries no session label. Treat it as a rough guide and ask the bursary for the current bill, including hostel, laboratory and medical charges.

Madonna University is a private Catholic university founded on 10 May 1999 at Okija, Anambra State, by Very Rev. Fr. Prof. E. M. P. Edeh, who is also its Chancellor. It has three campuses. Okija is the founding campus, Elele in Rivers State hosts the teaching hospital and clinical training, and Akpugo in Enugu State is described by the university as the campus for engineering and emerging sciences.
