The Fed Poly Ukana Architectural Technology cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. It is the minimum Federal Polytechnic, Ukana asked for in its 2026/2027 ND screening notice (at least 100 in the 2026 UTME), and it is the same as JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. No separate cut-off for Architectural Technology has been published.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ukana cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Architectural Technology is an established course here. It is on JAMB’s course list for Fed Poly Ukana, and the school’s own 2025/2026 ND admission notice lists it too, so you can choose it on your UTME profile. The verified figures come first, then the Architectural Technology subjects, screening and the CAPS steps.

Fed Poly Ukana Architectural Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | Fed Poly Ukana ND screening notice: minimum UTME score for all ND applicants | Official (school notice, via Myschool) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2025/2026 | Not shown | Fed Poly Ukana ND notice (the reprint lists courses but no score) | Official notice, partial reprint |
| Any year | None | A separate Fed Poly Ukana cut-off for Architectural Technology | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB set 100 for polytechnics in 2025 and again in 2026, and Fed Poly Ukana used that same 100 in its 2026/2027 notice. No Architectural Technology figure has ever been published, so anyone who quotes one is guessing.
Safe target score for Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana (my advice)
Fed Poly Ukana does not publish merit lists with scores, so the bands below are my own reading for Architectural Technology, not a school rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible, but borderline |
| 120 to 139 | Fair to good chance |
| 140 to 159 | Good chance; 140 is the score I would aim for |
| 160 and above | Strong |
140 or more in the 2027 UTME is what I would go for, with clean credits in the O’level subjects listed below. The minimum only gets you into screening for Architectural Technology; a margin above it protects you when the department has more applicants than places.
Catchment and state of origin
Nobody can point to an automatic advantage for Akwa Ibom candidates, or a disadvantage for applicants from other states. Fed Poly Ukana is a federal polytechnic that admits from every state. Federal institutions usually divide places across merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states, but this one has not published its ND split for Architectural Technology or any other course.
Fed Poly Ukana Architectural Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Architectural Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing |
| O’level | Five credits in Mathematics, Physics and English Language plus any two of Biology, Fine Art, Chemistry, History, Geography, Further Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, Religious Knowledge, Technical Drawing and Business Method; a pass in Fine Art or Technical Drawing is an advantage |
| English Language | English Language is one of the core credits |
| Brochure remark for Fed Poly Ukana | None found |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (named in the school notice) |
| Sittings | Not more than two sittings (school notice) |
My pick for the UTME: English, Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing (or Chemistry). Use our JAMB Geography syllabus to plan revision.
Of the five credits, Mathematics, Physics and English Language carry the Architectural Technology requirement. Use any free slot for a subject related to the course. The O’level you upload to JAMB CAPS and the one you present at screening must be one and the same, so both see the same grades.
Direct Entry and the HND route
No Direct Entry route leads into ND year one. For ND Architectural Technology you need the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The next level up is separate: after the ND and the one-year industrial attachment you apply to the polytechnic directly for the HND, outside CAPS (see our guide to Fed Poly Ukana HND admission requirements).
How Fed Poly Ukana screening works
For Architectural Technology and every other ND course, Fed Poly Ukana announced 2026/2027 full-time screening in August 2026. The polytechnic’s website would not load for me, so I relied on Myschool’s reprint of the notice. Part of the documents list is cut off in that reprint, so some details are missing.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 notice says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who chose Fed Poly Ukana and scored at least 100 in the 2026 UTME | Official |
| O’level | Five credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent, at not more than two sittings | Official |
| Form fee | ₦2,000 | Official |
| Where to apply | eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng (the application page of the school portal) | Official |
| Closing date | Not shown in the reprint | Check the portal |
| Test or document check | Not shown in the reprint, which breaks off at the instruction to bring original documents | Check the portal |
| Admission lists | First batch out by 11 September 2026; third batch reported on 26 October 2026 | Myschool reports |
Three batches into 2026/2027, the exercise is largely at acceptance. Later batches are still possible, since JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the deadline for polytechnics. Keep checking CAPS if you chose Fed Poly Ukana in the 2026 UTME and no Architectural Technology offer has appeared.
Worked example for an ND Architectural Technology applicant
Take Nnamso, who scored 147 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing, with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Technical Drawing and Geography from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 147 minus 100 = 47. Nnamso is above the school minimum.
- Against my safe target: 147 minus 140 = 7. That is inside the range I would aim for.
- O’level check: one sitting, with the Architectural Technology core subjects covered, so there is no sittings problem.
- CAPS check: no offer can be approved until that same O’level result is on JAMB CAPS.
Many polytechnics rank candidates on a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how that works, and only as an illustration, divide the UTME score by 8 (giving a mark out of 50) and add a screening score out of 50. Nnamso’s 147 becomes 18.38; with a screening score of 30 the total is 48.38 out of 100. A candidate on 110 with the same screening score would have 43.75. Fed Poly Ukana has not published a formula.
Your chances of getting Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana
- Architectural Technology attracts steady interest from science candidates who like drawing.
- A score in the 140s with credits in Mathematics, Physics and English is a good position.
- If CAPS offers you Building Technology or Quantity Surveying instead, both work on the same projects.
- Fed Poly Ukana released ND lists in batches in 2026, so a missing name in the first list did not mean rejection.
- The 2026/2027 polytechnic deadline set by JAMB is 31 December 2026, so late offers are possible.
How to apply for Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana, step by step
- Profile code first: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Get the UTME choices right: pick Federal Polytechnic, Ukana and Architectural Technology as JAMB lists it, using the subjects shown above.
- Check your institution choice: if Fed Poly Ukana was not your choice, you need a JAMB change of institution before screening. Switching into Architectural Technology from another course? Read JAMB change of course.
- Pay for and fill the form: visit eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng, open the ND application page, pay the ₦2,000 fee, fill it in and print your slip.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB accredited centre to have the result with your Mathematics, Physics and English Language credits uploaded. Until CAPS shows an O’level result, JAMB cannot approve an offer.
- Go to screening: the portal will say what the exercise involves. Bring the slip, the UTME result slip and the original O’level result with your Mathematics, Physics and English Language credits.
- Accept on CAPS: sign in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept it. The JAMB CAPS guide covers what each status means.
- Pay acceptance, then clear: I could not find the Fed Poly Ukana acceptance fee in any source I reached. Only pay through an invoice generated on the school portal, then complete clearance using your printed JAMB admission letter.
Warning
Watch out for “special list” sellers. Admission into Fed Poly Ukana comes through JAMB CAPS, so anyone asking for money for a slot or a change of course is not offering anything real. Genuine offers appear on CAPS, and genuine payments go through a portal invoice generated in your name.
For the earlier stages, read our guides on when JAMB 2027 registration starts and, once results come out, how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana
ND Architectural Technology is run by the School of Environmental Studies on the Ukana campus in Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. It trains technicians who draw, model and detail building designs and help architects produce working drawings.
What you study
These are the usual NBTE ND curriculum topics for Architectural Technology. The department has not published its own course list online.
- Architectural drawing and graphics
- Building construction and materials
- Design studio projects
- History of architecture
- Computer-aided design (CAD)
- Surveying basics, mathematics and general studies
Duration and accreditation
Under the usual NBTE structure, ND Architectural Technology takes two years full time, with a short SIWES placement inside those two years. Students heading for the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment and usually need an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Ukana has not published its own timetable for the course, so treat this as the national pattern.
The NBTE approved eight ND programmes at Fed Poly Ukana after a July 2022 resource inspection (The Will, 10 August 2022), and Architectural Technology was not one of them. I found no public record of a later approval, though there may have been one. Before paying fees, ask the department for the course’s NBTE approval status. An unapproved course can cause problems later, for example when you apply for HND.
Careers after the ND
- Architectural technician or draughtsperson in design firms
- CAD operator
- Site assistant on building projects
- Technical officer in town planning and works departments
- HND Architectural Technology, then a degree path towards becoming an architect

Mistakes that cost Architectural Technology applicants
- No Physics credit: it is one of the core O’level subjects.
- Ignoring drawing: a pass in Fine Art or Technical Drawing is listed as an advantage.
- Expecting to be called an architect after the ND: that title needs a degree and registration.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
- Paying anyone outside the eportal: the ₦2,000 form is paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng.
Fed Poly Ukana Architectural Technology: frequently asked questions
What are the JAMB subjects for Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana? English, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.
Is Technical Drawing compulsory for Architectural Technology? No, but a pass in Fine Art or Technical Drawing is listed as an advantage, and TD is one of the UTME options.
How much is the Fed Poly Ukana screening form? It was ₦2,000 for 2026/2027, paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng. No 2027/2028 price has been announced, so plan with ₦2,000 until it is.
Is 125 enough for Architectural Technology at Fed Poly Ukana? 125 is above 100, which makes you eligible. I would want 140 or more for Architectural Technology to feel safe, so make sure the O’level result is strong.
Sources and updates
The polytechnic minimum of 100 and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report on JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, dated 11 May 2026. The 2025 figure of 100 comes from Nairametrics (8 July 2025), and Blueprint and AllAfrica reports match it. Whether Architectural Technology is on JAMB’s list was checked against the Myschool list of Fed Poly Ukana courses. The Will’s report of 10 August 2022 is the source for the 2022 NBTE approvals, and the NBTE directory gives the location. Myschool reports of 11 September, 26 October and 31 October 2026 give the admission list dates. Myschool reprinted the school’s screening notice on 10 August 2026, and that is my source for the school’s 2026/2027 requirements (minimum 100, five credits at not more than two sittings, ₦2,000 form, eportal). For the 2025/2026 course list I used Myschool’s reprint of that year’s ND notice (18 July 2025). The worked example and the safe target scores are my own advice, not school figures. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s polytechnic brochure (ND Architectural Technology brochure page) is the source for the UTME subjects and O’level requirements. Checked on 3 November 2026; I will update this page when Fed Poly Ukana publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
