Fed Poly Ukana Quantity Surveying Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028

Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana needs at least 100 in the UTME, the JAMB polytechnic minimum the school also used for 2026/2027. No departmental figure is published. Read on for the subjects, O’level rules, screening, CAPS steps and the score I would aim for.

The Fed Poly Ukana Quantity Surveying cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. Federal Polytechnic, Ukana asked for at least 100 in the 2026 UTME in its 2026/2027 ND screening notice. That matches JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics, and there is no separate published cut-off for Quantity Surveying.

2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ukana cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

JAMB lists Quantity Surveying for Fed Poly Ukana, and so does the school’s own 2025/2026 ND admission notice. It is an established course, and you can select it on your UTME profile. I have also added a safe target score and a worked example for Quantity Surveying, both marked as my advice.

The numbers line up: JAMB’s polytechnic minimum was 100 in 2025 and 2026, and the 2026/2027 notice from Fed Poly Ukana used the same 100. A Quantity Surveying cut-off has never been published, so treat any figure you see quoted as a guess.

Safe target score for Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana (my advice)

These bands are my own judgement as an admissions adviser, applied to Quantity Surveying. Fed Poly Ukana has not set them, and the school does not publish merit lists with scores.

Your UTME scoreMy read for ND Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana
Below 100Not eligible for any ND course this session
100 to 119Eligible; your chance depends on how many apply
120 to 139Good chance; 130 is the score I would aim for
140 and aboveStrong

If you are writing the 2027 UTME for Quantity Surveying, I would aim for 130 or more. Add clean credits in the O’level subjects below. The minimum only gets you screened, and the margin above it is your protection when applicants outnumber places.

Catchment and state of origin

Federal polytechnics like Fed Poly Ukana admit from every state. They usually spread places across merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states, but no split for ND places at Fed Poly Ukana has been published. Akwa Ibom indigenes applying for Quantity Surveying should not assume an automatic advantage; candidates from other states should not assume they start behind.

Fed Poly Ukana Quantity Surveying subject combination and O’level requirements

RequirementND Quantity Surveying
UTME subjectsUse of English and any three of Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and Biology/Agricultural Science
O’levelFive credits in Mathematics and Physics plus any three of Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing/Fine Arts, Chemistry, Geography, Further Mathematics, Woodwork, Biology, Religious Knowledge and Metal Work
English LanguageThe brochure makes a credit in English Language compulsory, and asks for at least a pass in Art or Technical Drawing
Brochure remark for Fed Poly UkanaNone found
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (named in the school notice)
SittingsNot more than two sittings (school notice)

My pick for the UTME: English, Mathematics, Physics and Economics (or Geography). Use our JAMB Economics syllabus to plan revision.

Your five credits should rest on the core subjects in the table (Mathematics, Physics and English Language for this course). If one slot is free, use it for a subject that helps Quantity Surveying. Then upload that exact result to JAMB CAPS and bring the same one to screening, so the grades match.

Direct Entry and the HND route

No Direct Entry route leads into the first year of an ND. For ND Quantity Surveying you need the UTME and JAMB CAPS. The next level up is separate: after the ND and the one-year industrial attachment you apply to the polytechnic directly for the HND, not through CAPS (see our guide to Fed Poly Ukana HND admission requirements).

How Fed Poly Ukana screening works

The 2026/2027 ND full-time screening at Fed Poly Ukana was announced in August 2026. The polytechnic’s own website would not open for me, so I used Myschool’s reprint of the notice, which cuts off partway through the list of documents to bring. Some details are missing as a result, for Quantity Surveying applicants as for everyone else.

Admission listsFirst batch out by 11 September 2026; third batch reported on 26 October 2026Myschool reports

Three batches have gone out and the 2026/2027 exercise is mostly at the acceptance stage. Later batches are still possible, because JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the deadline for polytechnics, so a 2026 UTME candidate who chose Fed Poly Ukana and has no offer should keep checking CAPS.

Worked example for an ND Quantity Surveying applicant

Take Nsima, who scored 134 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Economics, with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Economics and Technical Drawing from one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 134 minus 100 = 34. Nsima is above the school minimum.
  2. Against my safe target: 134 minus 130 = 4. That is inside the range I would aim for.
  3. O’level check: one sitting, with the Quantity Surveying core subjects covered, so there is no sittings problem.
  4. CAPS check: Nsima still has to upload the same O’level result to JAMB CAPS, or no offer can be approved.

To see how a combined score could work for Quantity Surveying, take an illustration only (Fed Poly Ukana has published no formula). Many polytechnics rank by a mix of UTME and screening scores. Divide the UTME score by 8 to get a mark out of 50 and add a screening score out of 50: Nsima’s 134 gives 16.75, and a screening score of 30 brings the total to 46.75 out of 100. A candidate on 110 with the same screening score would reach 43.75.

Your chances of getting Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana

  • Quantity Surveying usually has moderate competition.
  • A score in the 130s with credits in Mathematics, Physics and English is a reasonable position.
  • If CAPS offers you Building Technology or Estate Management instead, both sit in the same construction and property field.
  • ND lists at Fed Poly Ukana came out in batches in 2026, so not seeing your name in the first one did not mean rejection.
  • The 2026/2027 polytechnic deadline set by JAMB is 31 December 2026, so late offers are possible.

How to apply for Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and the 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the UTME: pick Federal Polytechnic, Ukana and Quantity Surveying under JAMB’s own course name, and sit the subject combination above.
  3. Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Ukana was not your choice, you need a JAMB change of institution ahead of screening. Coming from another course? See JAMB change of course.
  4. Apply on the eportal: visit eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng, open the ND application page, pay the ₦2,000 fee, complete the form and print your slip.
  5. Upload your O’level to CAPS: visit an accredited JAMB centre and upload the result with your Mathematics, Physics and English Language credits. Until CAPS shows an O’level result, JAMB cannot approve an offer.
  6. Turn up for screening: the portal announces the exercise. Take the slip, the UTME result slip and the original O’level result that shows your Mathematics, Physics and English Language credits.
  7. Accept your admission: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. The JAMB CAPS guide covers what each status means.
  8. Pay acceptance and do clearance: no source I reached gives the Fed Poly Ukana acceptance fee. Only pay through an invoice generated on the school portal, then clear with your printed JAMB admission letter.

Warning

Watch out for “special list” sellers. Admission into Fed Poly Ukana comes through JAMB CAPS, so anyone asking for money for a slot or a change of course is not offering anything real. Genuine offers appear on CAPS, and genuine payments go through a portal invoice generated in your name.

For the earlier stages, our guides cover when JAMB 2027 registration starts and, when results are released, how to check your JAMB result.

Studying Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana

ND Quantity Surveying belongs to the School of Environmental Studies. The school is at Ukana, in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The course trains technicians who measure building work, price materials and labour, and track costs on construction projects.

What you study

The NBTE ND curriculum for Quantity Surveying usually covers the topics below. The department has not published its own list online.

  • Measurement of building and civil engineering work
  • Construction technology and materials
  • Estimating and pricing
  • Contract procedure and tendering
  • Cost planning and cost control
  • Mathematics, computing and general studies

Duration and accreditation

Fed Poly Ukana has not published a timetable for Quantity Surveying, so plan with the national NBTE pattern. The ND takes two years full time, including a short SIWES placement. An HND then needs a one-year industrial attachment and, usually, an ND at Lower Credit or above.

Ask about accreditation early. After its July 2022 resource inspection, the NBTE approved eight ND programmes at Fed Poly Ukana (The Will, 10 August 2022), and Quantity Surveying was not on that list. It may have been approved since; I found no public record. An unapproved course can cause problems later, for example when you apply for HND, so get the NBTE approval status from the department before you pay fees.

Careers after the ND

  • Quantity surveying technician or cost assistant with construction firms
  • Estimator for contractors
  • Technical officer in public procurement and works departments
  • Site cost controller
  • HND Quantity Surveying, then the path to registration as a quantity surveyor

Mistakes that cost Quantity Surveying applicants

  • No pass in Art or Technical Drawing: the brochure asks for at least a pass in one of them.
  • No Physics credit: it is a core O’level subject.
  • Weak Mathematics: the course is mostly measurement and pricing.
  • O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
  • Paying anyone outside the eportal: the ₦2,000 form is paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng.

Fed Poly Ukana Quantity Surveying: frequently asked questions

What are the JAMB subjects for Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana? English plus any three of Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and Biology/Agricultural Science. I would include Mathematics and Physics.

Do I need Technical Drawing for Quantity Surveying? You need at least an O’level pass in Art or Technical Drawing, according to the brochure. A credit is better.

How much is the Fed Poly Ukana screening form? The 2026/2027 ND screening form cost ₦2,000, paid through eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng. The 2027/2028 price has not been announced; plan with ₦2,000 until it is.

Is 115 enough for Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Ukana? You are eligible, because 115 clears the 100 minimum. It is below the 130 I would aim for in Quantity Surveying, though, so your O’level result needs to be strong.

Sources and updates

The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 deadline for admissions come from the News Agency of Nigeria report on JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, dated 11 May 2026. The 2025 minimum, also 100, comes from Nairametrics (8 July 2025), matched by Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. Whether Quantity Surveying is on JAMB’s list was checked against the Myschool list of Fed Poly Ukana courses. The Will (10 August 2022) reported the 2022 NBTE approvals, and the location comes from the NBTE directory. Myschool reports of 11 September, 26 October and 31 October 2026 give the admission list dates. On 10 August 2026 Myschool reprinted the school’s screening notice, which gives the school’s 2026/2027 requirements (₦2,000 form on the eportal, minimum 100, five credits at not more than two sittings). The 2025/2026 course list comes from Myschool’s reprint of that year’s ND notice (18 July 2025). The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s polytechnic brochure (ND Quantity Surveying brochure page) gives the UTME and O’level requirements. Everything was checked on 3 November 2026, and this page will be updated when Fed Poly Ukana publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
