The Fed Poly Isuochi cut off mark for Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology is 100 in the UTME. That is the figure in Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi’s own 2026/2027 admission advert, and it matches the minimum JAMB set for all polytechnics in 2026. The school has not published a separate, higher cut-off for this course.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
ND Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology (EEE) is one of four courses in the polytechnic’s School of Environment Design and Engineering Technology. Fed Poly Isuochi is a young federal polytechnic in Umunneochi LGA, Abia State, so there is very little admission history to go on. Below I set out the verified figures, the UTME combination from JAMB’s brochure, the O’level subjects, the application steps and my own safe target score, with every unconfirmed point marked as such.

Fed Poly Isuochi Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | “Score of 100 and above” in Fed Poly Isuochi’s admission advert | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |

| Any year | None | A Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology cut-off of its own | Never published |
So 100 is the only number the school and JAMB have used. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published merit lists with scores, so no one outside its admissions office knows the lowest score that actually got into Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology. Treat any blog that quotes a precise departmental figure with suspicion unless it links to a school notice.
Safe target score for Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi (my advice)
These bands are my own advice as an admissions adviser. Fed Poly Isuochi has published nothing like them.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course |
| 100 to 114 | Eligible, but borderline |
| 115 to 129 | Fair chance |
| 130 to 149 | Good chance |
| 150 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 130 or more. Fed Poly Isuochi is new and sits outside the big towns, so I do not expect the heavy crowding you see at Nekede or Akanu Ibiam. EEE is still one of the more popular ND engineering courses, and candidates who missed Electrical Engineering at a university often take it as a second option. A score in the 130s gives you room if that happens.
Does state of origin matter?
Fed Poly Isuochi is a federal institution, so it admits candidates from every state. It has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. I would not plan around an indigene advantage unless the school’s own notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Isuochi Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (brochure wording) | Use of English plus Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry |
| Any waiver for Fed Poly Isuochi | None. The brochure remarks name other schools (IMT Enugu accepts Biology, for example), not Isuochi |
| O’level core credits | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry |
| Two more credits from | Biology/Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography, Economics/Commerce |
| Fed Poly Isuochi advert rule | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
The UTME line is simple: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. JAMB’s polytechnic brochure, as Myschool reprints it, lists no alternative for this school. A few polytechnics have their own waivers (IMT Enugu takes Biology in place of one subject), but those remarks do not cover Isuochi, so do not copy a friend’s combination from another school. Our JAMB Chemistry syllabus lists the Chemistry topics you will face.
For O’level, the brochure asks for five credits made up of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus two from a long list that includes Basic Electricity, Technical Drawing and Further Mathematics. English Language sits inside that list, but Fed Poly Isuochi’s advert makes English and Mathematics compulsory for every course. So the safe set is English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one of Basic Electricity, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology, all at credit level and in no more than two sittings.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology admission is through the UTME and JAMB CAPS only. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so Fed Poly Isuochi does not appear to run an HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology yet. After the ND, the standard NBTE route is one year of industrial attachment and then an HND application, usually needing at least a Lower Credit, at a polytechnic that offers the HND. HND admission is handled by the polytechnic directly, outside CAPS.
The same advert lists a Basic Studies Programme under the School of Business and General Studies. That kind of programme is usually a pre-ND route for candidates still fixing their O’level. The advert gives no entry rules for it, so ask the Admission Unit before you count on it.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology
The 2026/2027 advert is short. It tells you how to apply and what you need, but it does not mention a screening test, a closing date or an admission list date. Here is what is confirmed and what is not.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who sat the UTME and scored 100 or above | Official (advert) |
| O’level | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings | Official (advert) |
| O’level upload | Results must be uploaded to the JAMB portal (CAPS) | Official (advert) |
| Form fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable | Official (advert) |
| Where to apply | Online at fedpis.edu.ng, or the Admission Unit, Nkwoagu Temporary Site, Abia State | Official (advert) |
| Enquiries | 07034376858, 07034200093, registrar@fedpis.edu.ng | Official (advert) |
| Screening test | Not stated | Unknown |
| Closing date | Not stated | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
Because the advert names no test, I expect selection to rest on your UTME score, your O’level grades and the number of places in each course. If the school schedules a test or a document check, it will announce it on its portal, so keep your login details safe after you pay.
Worked example for an ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology applicant
Take Chiamaka, who scored 138 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Her WAEC from one sitting has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Basic Electricity.
- Eligibility: 138 minus 100 = 38. Comfortably above the school’s minimum.
- Against my safe target: 138 minus 130 = 8. That puts the score in my good band.
- UTME combination: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry match the brochure line for Fed Poly Isuochi.
- O’level check: the credits cover the advert’s English and Mathematics rule and the brochure’s core subjects for Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology.
Fed Poly Isuochi has not published how it ranks applicants. Many polytechnics combine the UTME score with O’level grade points, so here is one way that could look. Divide the UTME score by 8 to get a mark out of 50, then add points for five relevant O’level grades (A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5) for another mark out of 50.
| Subject | Grade | Points |
|---|---|---|
| English Language | C4 | 7 |
| Mathematics | B3 | 8 |
| Physics | B2 | 9 |
| Chemistry | C5 | 6 |
| Basic Electricity | C4 | 7 |
| Total O’level points | 37 |
Chiamaka’s UTME part is 138 ÷ 8 = 17.2, and the O’level part is 37, so the total is 54.2 out of 100. A rival with 112 in the UTME and the same grades would get 14.0 + 37 = 51.0. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published one. Under most methods a polytechnic might use, a weak O’level grade can cancel out a few extra UTME marks.
Your chances of getting Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
- A score in the 130s with credits in Physics and Chemistry puts you in a good position for a new school like this one.
- A missing Chemistry credit is the most common reason engineering applicants fail the O’level check. The brochure needs it, even though many students think Physics and Mathematics are enough.
- If CAPS offers you Computer Engineering Technology instead, take it seriously. It is in the same school, uses the same UTME subjects and was on the February 2025 list of accredited courses.
- JAMB asked polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so offers can appear late. Keep checking CAPS.
Because Fed Poly Isuochi’s engineering school is still growing, I would also ask about workshops and laboratory equipment when you visit the temporary site. EEE is a hands-on course, and you will spend much of your time in the workshop.
How to apply for Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN, then use the code to register for the UTME.
- Register the right subjects: for Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, that is English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Check the course on JAMB’s e-brochure during registration before you pay.
- Choose Fed Poly Isuochi: if the polytechnic was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before admissions start. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB accredited centre. The advert makes this a condition, and JAMB cannot approve an offer while your O’level is missing.
- Buy the form: apply online at fedpis.edu.ng and pay the ₦2,000 non-refundable fee. Print every page and receipt the portal gives you.
- Watch for screening or document checks: the advert does not name a test date, so check the portal and call 07034376858 or 07034200093 if you are unsure.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its acceptance fee in any source I could reach. Pay only through the school’s portal or an invoice in your name, then complete clearance at the temporary site.
Warning
Admission into Fed Poly Isuochi comes through JAMB CAPS. If anyone offers you a “special list” or a “supplementary slot” for money, walk away. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through the polytechnic’s own portal.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. When results come out, see how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
ND EEE trains technicians who install, test and repair electrical machines, wiring, power systems and electronic equipment. The NBTE curriculum mixes classroom theory with workshop practice from the first semester.
What you study
- Electrical engineering science, circuit theory and electrical measurements
- Electronics: devices, circuits and digital electronics
- Electrical machines, power and installation practice
- Technical drawing and workshop technology
- Engineering mathematics and computer programming basics
- Communication in English, entrepreneurship and SIWES
This is the usual NBTE pattern for the ND. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own course outline, so exact course titles may differ.
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time, including a short period of SIWES. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment before applying. The school has not published a course-specific timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
On accreditation, The Mirror (2 February 2025) reported six NBTE-accredited courses at the polytechnic: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Statistics, Accountancy and Business Administration and Management. Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology was not on that list. It appears in the 2026/2027 advert, so it may have been approved since, but I could not find an NBTE notice. Ask the department for its current status before you pay fees.
About Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi LGA, Abia State. News reports describe it as a new institution established in 2022. Classes run from a temporary site while the permanent site is built, and the groundbreaking for the permanent site was reported in February 2025. The rector, Dr Paul-Darlington Ibemezie Ndubuisi, began a single five-year term on 17 January 2023. Expect the facilities of a growing school, and visit before you accept if you can.
Do not confuse it with Ihechukwu Madubuike Institute of Technology, a separate private institution listed in the same LGA.
Careers after the ND
- Electrical installation and maintenance technician in factories, hospitals and estates
- Technician roles with electricity distribution companies and contractors
- Solar and inverter installation, a fast-growing small business area in the South East

Mistakes that cost EEE applicants a place at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Registering Biology instead of Chemistry in the UTME: the Biology option belongs to another school’s waiver, not Isuochi’s.
- Bringing only four relevant credits: the brochure wants Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and two others, and the advert insists on English.
- Using three sittings: the advert allows two at most.
- Forgetting the CAPS upload: the advert makes the O’level upload to JAMB a condition, and JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
- Paying before checking accreditation: EEE was not on the list of six accredited courses reported in February 2025. Ask about its current NBTE status first.
Fed Poly Isuochi Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology cut-off: frequently asked questions
What are the JAMB subjects for Electrical Electronics at Fed Poly Isuochi? Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. JAMB’s polytechnic brochure gives no other combination for this school.
Is 120 a good score for Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Fed Poly Isuochi? Yes, 120 clears the official minimum of 100 and puts you in the fair band. I would aim for 130 or more to feel safe, because EEE is usually one of the busier engineering courses.
Can I study EEE at Fed Poly Isuochi without a Chemistry credit? I would not count on it. The brochure lists Chemistry as a core O’level credit for this course, and no remark waives it for Isuochi.
Does Fed Poly Isuochi offer HND Electrical Engineering? The 2026/2027 advert lists only ND programmes, so plan to do your HND at another polytechnic after the ND and one year of industrial attachment.
