Amadeus University Public Health Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Public Health is the JAMB minimum of 150; no departmental figure is published. See the safe target, UTME subjects, O’level, Direct Entry, fees and how to apply.

The Amadeus University Public Health cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, the minimum JAMB set for all universities for 2026/2027 at its policy meeting of 11 May 2026. Amadeus, a private university at Amizi in Abia State, has not published a separate Public Health figure and did not declare its own cut-off at that meeting, so 150 plus five good science credits is what you need to apply.

2027/2028 update: Amadeus cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Public Health is on Amadeus’s own programme list as “B.Sc. Public Health” in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and on the JAMB-style course list for Amadeus as Public Health, the course name to pick when you register. I could not open JAMB’s own institution page for Amadeus, so confirm it on the e-brochure. Note that the UTME combination includes Physics: candidates who register Mathematics in its place end up with an invalid combination.

Below: the figures, a safe target score (my advice), the UTME subjects and O’level rules, Direct Entry, how Amadeus selects, the official fees, the CAPS steps and the programme’s accreditation position.

Safe target score for Public Health at Amadeus (my advice)

This is my judgement, not an Amadeus rule. Amadeus is young and private, so competition is lighter than at ABSU, and its admission page says it looks at your character and activities as well as your grades.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Amadeus Public Health
Below 150Not eligible for any university in 2026/2027
150 to 169Eligible; your science credits and any interview decide it
170 to 189Good chance with clean credits in all five subjects
190 and aboveStrong. This is the range I would aim for.

For the 2027 UTME, aim for 180 or more. That also keeps ABSU Public Health and Gregory University Public Health open as options.

Amadeus Public Health subject combination and O’level requirements

Amadeus’s admission page asks for five credits including Mathematics and English plus three other relevant subjects, from WASSCE, NECO or GCE. It does not list the Public Health subjects, so the rest of this table is JAMB’s brochure rule for Public Health as reprinted on Myschool. Amadeus has no remark on that page.

RequirementPublic Health
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
O’level (JAMB brochure)Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
O’level (Amadeus page)Five credits including Mathematics and English plus three other relevant subjects
SittingsAmadeus’s 2025/2026 admission notice allowed one or two sittings
Direct Entry, route 1 (JAMB brochure)Two A-level passes from Biology or Zoology, Chemistry and Physics, plus O’level Mathematics, Physics and English
Direct Entry, route 2 (JAMB brochure)Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent, plus five O’level credits including English and four science subjects

Physics, not Mathematics

Some admission blogs list the Public Health UTME subjects as Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. JAMB’s brochure entry for Public Health names Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with no Mathematics option. Register Physics.

O’level mistakes to avoid

  • Missing Physics at credit level. The brochure lists it among the five.
  • Using Agricultural Science or Health Science in place of Biology.
  • Different names or dates of birth on WAEC, NECO and JAMB records. Fix them before you upload to CAPS.

Direct Entry into Public Health at Amadeus

JAMB’s brochure gives two routes: A-level passes in two of Biology or Zoology, Chemistry and Physics, or a nursing qualification (RN or equivalent) with five science credits. Nurses who want a degree in public health often use the second route. Amadeus has not published its own Direct Entry rule, so email admissions@amadeus.edu.ng before you buy a Direct Entry form.

How Amadeus selects Public Health candidates

Amadeus does not publish a post-UTME test or an aggregate formula. Its admission page says academic performance comes first but that it also weighs character, extracurricular activities and social involvement, and that it makes room for students from underserved communities. A 2024 blog report spoke of an interview and a minimum age of 16; the university’s own page confirms neither, so prepare for an interview without counting on one.

Amadeus’s steps are short: choose Amadeus University Amizi through JAMB, then complete the form at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng. JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities, and every offer must pass through CAPS; JAMB has said admission outside CAPS is illegal. In 2025/2026 Amadeus closed admission on 30 November 2025 and took candidates through JAMB change of institution.

Worked example (illustrative only)

Amadeus has no published scoring method. Many Nigerian universities rank candidates by a 50/50 mix: UTME score divided by 8 (maximum 50) plus O’level points for five relevant subjects (A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5). I use it here only to show how to judge your own strength.

SubjectGradePoints
English LanguageC56
MathematicsC47
PhysicsC65
ChemistryC47
BiologyB38
O’level total33

A candidate with 176 in the UTME earns 176 ÷ 8 = 22 points. With 33 O’level points the aggregate is 55 out of 100. With a C6 in Physics this candidate is eligible but not strong. Raising Physics to B3 through a NECO or GCE resit adds 3 points, the same as 24 more UTME marks.

Amadeus Public Health school fees and scholarships

Amadeus publishes its fees on its tuition and fees page. These are the figures it showed when I checked on 29 October 2026. The page says the fees are per session but does not name the session, and it does not say which of the other charges are paid once. Confirm the current schedule with the admissions office before you pay.

ItemAmount
Public Health tuition (per session)N2,160,000
Acceptance fee (first-year students only, non-refundable)N200,000
Medical insuranceN85,000
Library and ICTN120,000
Laboratory and workshopsN50,000
Hostel, two-person room (per bed space)N900,000
Hostel, four-person room (per bed space, limited)N550,000

The form fee is not on that page. Amadeus also runs scholarships tied to its founder: the Vice-Chancellor told The Sun in November 2025 about the Dr Godwin Nwabunka Foundation scholarship (tuition, services and accommodation for students from low-income homes), a Grooming Centre scholarship for children of the microfinance group’s clients and staff, and a Grooming Endowment Trust scholarship open to Nigerian undergraduates. Ask the admissions office whether these are open for the 2027/2028 intake and what the deadline is.

How to apply for Public Health at Amadeus, step by step

  1. Create your JAMB profile: send your NIN to 55019 or 66019 from your own line to get a profile code, then register for the UTME at an accredited centre.
  2. Choose Amadeus and Public Health: pick Amadeus University, Amizi, and “Public Health” with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If you chose another school, use JAMB change of institution.
  3. Meet the score: check your result and plan with our guide on what to do with your JAMB score.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre, as soon as your WAEC, NECO or GCE result is out. Amadeus cannot propose you for admission without it.
  5. Apply on the Amadeus portal: register at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, fill the form and upload your documents. The fee for the form is not published; confirm it on the portal.
  6. Attend any interview or assessment: if the admissions office invites you, take your original O’level results, UTME result slip and birth certificate or age declaration.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, go to Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gives four weeks to accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows each screen.
  8. Pay acceptance and school fees: only to Amadeus’s official account, and only after CAPS shows your admission.

Warning

Quiz and classified-ad sites carry posts saying an Amadeus University “post-UTME, Direct Entry and IJMB form is out” with a private phone number to call. Amadeus’s official channels are admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, admissions@amadeus.edu.ng and the phone numbers on amadeus.edu.ng. Never pay for a form or a list through anyone else.

About Amadeus University and its Public Health programme

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State. NUC handed over its licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023), lectures began in September 2024, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio declared it open at its first matriculation on 8 February 2025. Amadeus says NUC granted it a full operational licence on 23 September 2026. The founder is Dr Godwin Nwabunka, chairman of the Grooming Centre board, and the Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta. Public Health sits in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences with Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science and Physiotherapy.

What you study

Amadeus has not published its Public Health course outline or the length of the degree. Nigerian B.Sc. Public Health programmes follow NUC’s curriculum, so expect:

  • First-year sciences and general studies, then human anatomy and physiology
  • Epidemiology and biostatistics
  • Environmental and occupational health
  • Health promotion, nutrition, and reproductive and family health
  • Health policy, management and health economics
  • Community field postings and a final-year research project

Accreditation

Public Health at Amadeus has no NUC accreditation result yet. Amadeus is not in NUC’s “Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025” publication, and I found no NUC report page for the programme. That is normal for a course whose first students started in September 2024; it runs on NUC’s approval to start. Unlike Medical Laboratory Science or Nursing, I found no professional board that publishes an approved list for B.Sc. Public Health, so NUC accreditation is the check that matters. Ask when the first NUC visit is due.

Careers

Graduates work as public health officers, disease surveillance and immunisation officers, monitoring and evaluation officers, and health educators, with state ministries and primary health care boards, NGOs and international health agencies. Many go on to an MPH.

Other Abia universities with Public Health: Abia State University, Clifford University and Gregory University.
