Amadeus University Physiotherapy Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Physiotherapy is the JAMB minimum of 150; no departmental figure is published. See the safe target, subjects, O’level, fees and the MRTB question.

The Amadeus University Physiotherapy cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, the minimum JAMB set for all universities for 2026/2027 at its policy meeting of 11 May 2026. Amadeus, a private university at Amizi in Abia State, has not published a separate Physiotherapy figure and did not declare its own cut-off at that meeting.

2027/2028 update: Amadeus cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Physiotherapy is on Amadeus’s own programme list as “DPT. Physiotherapy”, a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and on the JAMB-style course list for Amadeus as Physiotherapy, the course name to pick when you register. (JAMB’s brochure also has a separate “Doctor of Physiotherapy” entry; Amadeus is listed under Physiotherapy.) I could not open JAMB’s own institution page for Amadeus, so confirm it on the e-brochure. One caution: I found no record of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB) accrediting Amadeus’s Physiotherapy programme, and physiotherapists need MRTB registration to practise.

Below: the figures, a safe target score (my advice), the UTME subjects and O’level rules, Direct Entry, how Amadeus selects, the official fees, the CAPS steps and the accreditation position.

Amadeus has set its own figures only for Medicine and Pharmacy. Physiotherapy follows the general rule, but it is a professional health degree, and I would not apply with a bare 150.

Safe target score for Physiotherapy at Amadeus (my advice)

This is my judgement, not an Amadeus rule. Physiotherapy is a small course everywhere in Nigeria and draws strong candidates who narrowly missed Medicine. Amadeus is new and private, which lowers the competition, but places in a clinical course are limited.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Amadeus Physiotherapy
Below 150Not eligible for any university in 2026/2027
150 to 179Eligible; you need strong science credits and a good interview
180 to 209Good chance with clean credits in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
210 and aboveStrong. This is the range I would aim for.

For the 2027 UTME, aim for 200 or more. That also keeps ESUT Physiotherapy in Enugu realistic if you want a public option nearby.

Amadeus Physiotherapy subject combination and O’level requirements

Amadeus’s admission page asks for five credits including Mathematics and English plus three other relevant subjects, from WASSCE, NECO or GCE. It does not list the Physiotherapy subjects, so the rest of this table is JAMB’s brochure rule for Physiotherapy as reprinted on Myschool. Amadeus has no remark on that page.

RequirementPhysiotherapy
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
O’level (JAMB brochure)Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry
O’level (Amadeus page)Five credits including Mathematics and English plus three other relevant subjects
SittingsAmadeus’s 2025/2026 admission notice allowed one or two sittings
Direct Entry (JAMB brochure)Two A-level passes from Physics, Chemistry and Biology

O’level mistakes to avoid

  • A pass in Physics. All five subjects need credits.
  • Agricultural Science in place of Biology. It does not count for this course.
  • Different names or dates of birth on WAEC, NECO and JAMB records. Fix them before you upload to CAPS.

Direct Entry into Physiotherapy at Amadeus

JAMB’s brochure accepts two A-level passes from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Universities such as UNILORIN and UNILAG add routes for graduates of basic medical sciences, but Amadeus has not published its own Direct Entry rule. Email admissions@amadeus.edu.ng before you buy a Direct Entry form.

How Amadeus selects Physiotherapy candidates

Amadeus does not publish a post-UTME test or an aggregate formula. Its admission page says academic performance comes first but that it also weighs character, extracurricular activities and social involvement, and that it makes room for students from underserved communities. A 2024 blog report spoke of an interview and a minimum age of 16; the university’s own page confirms neither, so prepare for an interview without counting on one.

Amadeus’s steps are short: choose Amadeus University Amizi through JAMB, then complete the form at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng. JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities, and every offer must pass through CAPS; JAMB has said admission outside CAPS is illegal. In 2025/2026 Amadeus closed admission on 30 November 2025 and took candidates through JAMB change of institution.

Worked example (illustrative only)

Amadeus has no published scoring method. Many Nigerian universities rank candidates by a 50/50 mix: UTME score divided by 8 (maximum 50) plus O’level points for five relevant subjects (A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5). I use it here only to show how to judge your own strength.

SubjectGradePoints
English LanguageB38
MathematicsC47
PhysicsC47
ChemistryB38
BiologyB29
O’level total39

A candidate with 200 in the UTME earns 200 ÷ 8 = 25 points. With 39 O’level points the aggregate is 64 out of 100. A rival with 224 but three C6 grades scores 28 + 33 = 61. In a course that weighs your record, the candidate with better grades and a lower score can come out ahead.

Amadeus Physiotherapy school fees and scholarships

Amadeus publishes its fees on its tuition and fees page. These are the figures it showed when I checked on 29 October 2026. The page says the fees are per session but does not name the session, and it does not say which of the other charges are paid once. Confirm the current schedule with the admissions office before you pay.

ItemAmount
Physiotherapy tuition (per session)N1,980,000
Acceptance fee (first-year students only, non-refundable)N200,000
Medical insuranceN85,000
Library and ICTN120,000
Laboratory and workshopsN50,000
Hostel, two-person room (per bed space)N900,000
Hostel, four-person room (per bed space, limited)N550,000

The form fee is not on that page. Amadeus also runs scholarships tied to its founder: the Vice-Chancellor told The Sun in November 2025 about the Dr Godwin Nwabunka Foundation scholarship (tuition, services and accommodation for students from low-income homes), a Grooming Centre scholarship for children of the microfinance group’s clients and staff, and a Grooming Endowment Trust scholarship open to Nigerian undergraduates. Ask the admissions office whether these are open for the 2027/2028 intake and what the deadline is.

How to apply for Physiotherapy at Amadeus, step by step

  1. Create your JAMB profile: send your NIN to 55019 or 66019 from your own line to get a profile code, then register for the UTME at an accredited centre.
  2. Choose Amadeus and Physiotherapy: pick Amadeus University, Amizi, and “Physiotherapy” with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If you chose another school, use JAMB change of institution.
  3. Meet the score: check your result and plan with our guide on what to do with your JAMB score.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre, as soon as your WAEC, NECO or GCE result is out. Amadeus cannot propose you for admission without it.
  5. Apply on the Amadeus portal: register at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, fill the form and upload your documents. The fee for the form is not published; confirm it on the portal.
  6. Attend any interview or assessment: if the admissions office invites you, take your original O’level results, UTME result slip and birth certificate or age declaration.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, go to Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gives four weeks to accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows each screen.
  8. Pay acceptance and school fees: only to Amadeus’s official account, and only after CAPS shows your admission.

Warning

Physiotherapists cannot practise in Nigeria without registration by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board, which accredits university programmes. I found no MRTB accreditation for Amadeus. Before you pay, ask the admissions office in writing when MRTB will visit and where clinical training will take place.

About Amadeus University and its Physiotherapy programme

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State. NUC handed over its licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023), lectures began in September 2024, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio declared it open at its first matriculation on 8 February 2025. Amadeus says NUC granted it a full operational licence on 23 September 2026. The founder is Dr Godwin Nwabunka, chairman of the Grooming Centre board, and the Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta. Physiotherapy sits in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences with Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health.

What you study

Amadeus has not published its DPT course outline or how many years it runs. Nigerian Doctor of Physiotherapy programmes follow NUC’s curriculum, and are longer than the older five-year BPT degree. Expect:

  • First-year sciences and general studies
  • Human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry
  • Biomechanics, kinesiology and exercise physiology
  • Electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise
  • Musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary and paediatric physiotherapy
  • Supervised clinical postings in hospitals and a research project

Accreditation

NUC accredits the degree; Amadeus is not in NUC’s “Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025” publication, and I found no NUC report page for its Physiotherapy programme, which is normal for a course whose first students started in September 2024. MRTB accredits physiotherapy training institutions and registers graduates. Its published list of accredited institutions is dated November 2017, years before Amadeus opened, and I found no later report naming Amadeus. Treat MRTB accreditation as not confirmed, and ask which hospital will host your clinical postings: Amadeus has only said its medical centre will grow into a teaching hospital.

Careers

Registered physiotherapists work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, sports clubs, private clinics and community health programmes, or go on to specialise in areas such as sports, neurological or paediatric physiotherapy.

The 150 minimum and the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities are from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026; News Central’s full list of institution cut-offs does not include Amadeus. The programme name, faculty, entry rule, selection approach and contacts are from Amadeus’s admission overview page, and the fees from its tuition page. Subject rules are JAMB’s brochure entry for Physiotherapy as reprinted by Myschool.
