Ultra Excellence Polytechnic admission requirements for the National Diploma are a UTME score of at least 100, JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics in 2026/2027, plus the right UTME subjects and five O’level credits including English Language and Mathematics. The school, a private polytechnic in Uyo, has published no cut-off of its own. NBTE’s 2025 Directory lists five ND courses there: Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Accountancy, Computer Science and Statistics.
2027/2028 update: Ultra Excellence Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
The name is the first thing to get right. JAMB’s polytechnic list, in the brochure reprint I checked, shows the school as Ultra-Excellence College of Technology (UEC-TECH), Uyo. NBTE’s 2025 Directory calls it Ultra Excellence Polytechnic, Uyo (printed “Ultra Execellence”), and Wikipedia’s list of polytechnics places it at Ikono. When you register for the UTME, search for both names. I found no school website or admission advert, so this page relies on NBTE and JAMB records.

Ultra Excellence Poly courses and NBTE status
| ND course | First granted | Current status | Expires | Our guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | 2022 | Accredited (2025) | 1 October 2030 | Cut-off and requirements |
| Computer Engineering Technology | 2025 | Interim | 1 October 2027 | Cut-off and requirements |

| Statistics | 2021 | Accredited (2025) | 1 October 2030 | Cut-off and requirements |
NBTE also lists Institutional Administration at the school as accredited to 2030. Four of the five NDs have accreditation that outlasts a two-year ND starting in 2027/2028. Computer Engineering Technology is on interim approval to 1 October 2027, so ask when NBTE’s full accreditation visit is due.
I could not open JAMB’s course list for the school on Myschool, so check that your course appears under Ultra-Excellence College of Technology or Ultra Excellence Polytechnic when you register.
Ultra Excellence Poly cut-off mark
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Ultra Excellence figure for any course | No published figure found |
These targets are my own advice for 2027, based on how small private polytechnics usually fill their classes:
| Course | Legal minimum | My safe target for 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | 100 | 125 or more |
| Computer Engineering Technology | 100 | 130 or more |
| Accountancy | 100 | 120 or more |
| Computer Science | 100 | 130 or more |
| Statistics | 100 | 115 or more |
UTME subjects and O’level for each course
These are the JAMB polytechnic brochure base rules as reprinted by Myschool. Use of English is compulsory and not repeated in the table.
| Course | UTME subjects besides Use of English | O’level credits (five in all) |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus two from the technical list (get English as one) |
| Computer Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language plus one technical or science subject |
| Accountancy | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Economics, Principles of Accounts and Commerce |
| Computer Science | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics and Chemistry | Mathematics, English Language and Physics plus two others such as Chemistry and Economics |
| Statistics | Mathematics and two of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography or Biology/Agricultural Science (JAMB page did not load; pattern from Federal Polytechnics Offa and Nekede) | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Physics, Economics and Geography |
The two engineering courses have a fixed UTME line of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Accountancy needs Mathematics plus two business or social subjects. Computer Science treats Physics as optional in the UTME but compulsory at O’level. For Statistics the JAMB page did not load; English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics fits every published polytechnic pattern I found.
HND
NBTE lists no HND at Ultra Excellence, so plan to take your HND elsewhere. Under the standard NBTE rule you need an ND of at least Lower Credit and a year of industrial attachment; HND admission is outside the UTME and CAPS.
How to apply to Ultra Excellence Polytechnic
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: pick your course and choose Ultra-Excellence College of Technology, Uyo (the JAMB name) as your polytechnic. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. CAPS cannot offer you admission without it.
- Contact the school: visit the campus in Uyo, confirm your course is admitting under the name JAMB uses, buy the form at the school and keep every receipt.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing from the bursary, pay only through the channel the school names, and complete medical and departmental registration.
With no published notice, ask the admissions office about the form price, any written test, the acceptance and first-year fees, and accommodation.
Warning
Ultra Excellence Polytechnic has no official website I could find, so any page, WhatsApp group or agent selling its forms online may have nothing to do with the school. Buy forms only at the school, and remember that JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.
My advice
- Electrical/Electronic, Accountancy, Computer Science and Statistics carry NBTE accreditation to 2030, which is strong for a small private polytechnic.
- Confirm the campus address before screening day, because sources disagree between Uyo and Ikono.
- Plan your HND route early, since the school has none.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
The five ND courses in brief

| Statistics | Probability and inference; Sampling and surveys; Applied statistics; Computing | data collection officer, research or survey assistant, monitoring and evaluation assistant with NGOs, records and data officer |
Each ND takes two years full-time with a SIWES placement under NBTE’s standard pattern. Compare with Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic and Brainfill Polytechnic.

Sources and updates
The 2026/2027 polytechnic minimum of 100, the 31 December 2026 deadline and JAMB’s warning against admissions outside CAPS come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026; the 2025/2026 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). Programme status and the NBTE name are from NBTE’s 25th Edition 2025 Directory of Accredited Programmes. The JAMB name, Ultra-Excellence College of Technology (UEC-TECH), Uyo, is from a reprint of Chapter 3 of the JAMB brochure, and the Ikono location from Wikipedia’s list of polytechnics in Nigeria. Subject rules are the JAMB polytechnic brochure base lines as reprinted by Myschool, with Federal Polytechnic Offa and Nekede patterns for Statistics. Safe targets are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when the school publishes a 2027/2028 notice.
