The Rhema University Human Physiology cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for universities for 2026/2027. Rhema University, Aba has not published its own cut-off for B.Sc. Human Physiology, and it does not appear on the list of institution-declared cut-offs from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting. If you score 150 or more, choose Rhema and hold the right five O’level credits, you are eligible to apply.
2027/2028 update: Rhema cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Physiology is the study of how the body works: the heart, lungs, kidneys, nerves and hormones in action. It sits close to Medicine and Anatomy, and it attracts candidates who want a science career in health without the length of an MBBS. This page gives the official figures, a safe target score (my advice), the subjects and Direct Entry rules, the screening position, a worked example, the CAPS steps and a quick comparison with Anatomy.

Rhema University is on Aba-Owerri Road in Aba, Abia State. A few blogs place a “Rhema University” in Obeama-Asa, Rivers State, which is a mix-up; this page is about the Aba university.
Rhema Human Physiology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official, JAMB 2026 policy meeting |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | JAMB 2025 policy meeting |
| Any session | None | Rhema-declared Physiology cut-off | Never published in sources I reached |
A 2018/2019 “Rhema cut-off for all courses” list is still copied around online. It cites no Rhema document, so treat it as unofficial and out of date.
Safe target score for Human Physiology at Rhema (my advice)
Physiology usually has less pressure on places than Medicine, Nursing or Medical Laboratory Science, and a private university like Rhema gets fewer applicants than the big federal schools. The table is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a Rhema rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Rhema Human Physiology |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any Rhema degree course |
| 150 to 159 | Eligible; complete O’level and early application matter most |
| 160 to 179 | Reasonable chance |
| 180 to 199 | Good chance |
| 200 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME, I would aim for 180 or more. If Physiology is your backup for Medicine, push for 220 so the MBBS door stays open elsewhere.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Rhema Human Physiology
| Requirement | Human Physiology at Rhema |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (JAMB’s usual combination; confirm on the JAMB e-brochure) |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics |
| Exams accepted | WASSCE or NECO SSCE (named on Rhema’s page) |
| Sittings | Not stated |
| Entry modes | UTME into 100 level; Direct Entry into 200 level |
Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB brochure for Human Physiology lists Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with Use of English compulsory for all candidates. Rhema is not among the schools with special remarks for the course. Rhema’s page is silent on sittings for Physiology, so if your five credits come from two exams, check with the admissions office.
Direct Entry into Human Physiology
Rhema’s admissions page allows Direct Entry into 200 level with the five O’level credits plus one of these:
- A-level GCE passes in at least two relevant subjects
- IJMB
- NCE in relevant subjects
- ND at upper credit in relevant subjects
- HND at lower credit in relevant subjects
- A first degree in a related field
The JAMB brochure’s general Direct Entry rule for Physiology is two A-level passes from Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Zoology, so pick your A-level or IJMB subjects from those. Confirm with Rhema that an ND, HND or NCE in your field counts as relevant.
Rhema Post-UTME and screening for Physiology
Rhema has not published a screening procedure for Human Physiology in any source I reached. The only screening notice I could confirm, reprinted by Myschool on 10 September 2025, was for MBBS and Nursing candidates, held on 16 September 2025 at Rhema’s Academic Block, with extra centres in Abuja (Gwarimpa) and Lagos (Ojodu Berger).
Blog posts claiming a computer-based test for every Rhema course cite no notice from the university, and at least one quotes two different form prices. Apply through Rhema’s portal and ring the admissions office (08107159322) to ask whether Physiology applicants are tested.
Worked example (illustrative only)
Rhema publishes no aggregate formula. Below I compare scores against the 150 floor and my 180 target, and, in case a test is set, use the 50:50 aggregate common at Nigerian universities (UTME ÷ 8, plus the screening percentage halved). This is my illustration, not Rhema’s method.
- Kelechi: UTME 188. 188 minus 150 = 38 above the floor, and 8 above my target. Credits in all five subjects from one sitting. He is in my “good chance” band.
- If there is a test: Kelechi scores 58%. 188 ÷ 8 = 23.5, plus 29, gives an illustrative aggregate of 52.5.
- Amaka: UTME 163 (20.4) and 72% at screening (36), for 56.4. She would edge ahead despite a UTME score 25 marks lower.
- The lesson for you: prepare for a possible test in Biology, Chemistry and Physics even if Rhema has not announced one.
Human Physiology or Human Anatomy at Rhema?
Candidates often weigh these two against each other. Both are listed on Rhema’s admissions page with the same five O’level credits, so the choice comes down to what you enjoy.
| Point | Human Physiology | Human Anatomy |
|---|---|---|
| Main question | How does the body work? | How is the body built? |
| Typical lab work | Measuring heart, lung, nerve and muscle function; experiments | Dissection, histology slides, tissue processing |
| Strongest school subjects | Biology, Chemistry, Physics (for measurement and instruments) | Biology, with good visual memory |
| O’level at Rhema | Same five credits | Same five credits |
| Rhema Direct Entry A-level detail | “Relevant subjects” (not named) | Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Zoology named |
| Common careers | Clinical physiology, sports and exercise science, research, pharma | Anatomy teaching, histology and forensic labs, research |
Our Rhema Human Anatomy guide covers that course in full.
How to apply for Human Physiology at Rhema, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME: choose Human Physiology with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and select Rhema University. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre, with your WAEC or NECO result.
- Apply on Rhema’s portal: on rhemauniversity.edu.ng, go to Admissions, click “Apply Now”, sign in, complete the form and print your slip.
- Confirm any screening: call 08107159322 or 08076846648 and ask whether Physiology candidates sit a test that year.
- Accept on CAPS: at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gave four weeks to accept in 2026; our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the acceptance fee is not published in any source I reached. Get the figure from Rhema before paying, then go for clearance with your original documents.
Warning
Blogs disagree on the price of Rhema’s admission form. Pay only the amount on Rhema’s own portal or from its admissions office, and ignore agents offering guaranteed places. A genuine offer always shows on JAMB CAPS.
Studying Human Physiology at Rhema University
Rhema University is a private Christian university in Aba, established in 2010 according to its own news page. It awards a B.Sc. in Human Physiology. The admissions page does not give the duration or name the college; in Nigeria the degree normally takes four years through UTME and three through Direct Entry.
Accreditation
Rhema’s admissions page says all its courses are accredited by the NUC and relevant professional bodies. I could not find a published NUC result for B.Sc. Human Physiology at Rhema, so treat the current status as not confirmed and ask the department before you pay. Separately, Rhema reported in October 2022 that the MDCN gave its College of Medicine and Health Sciences pre-clinical accreditation, which covers physiology examinations for medical students. That relates to MBBS, not the B.Sc. Physiology degree.

Mistakes Physiology applicants make
- Reading 150 as a guaranteed place: it is the minimum to apply.
- No Physics credit: it is one of Rhema’s five required subjects.
- Waiting for a test notice that may never come: apply early and call the admissions office.
- O’level not on CAPS: Rhema cannot send an offer without it.
- Skipping acceptance and clearance: CAPS acceptance alone does not finish your admission.

Sources and updates
The O’level subjects, Direct Entry list, 200-level entry, the “Apply Now” route, the number 08076846648 and Rhema’s general accreditation statement come from Rhema University’s admissions page (undated, checked 29 October 2026). The MDCN pre-clinical accreditation is from Rhema’s news report of 27 October 2022. The MBBS and Nursing screening of 16 September 2025 and the number 08107159322 are from Myschool’s reprint of Rhema’s notice (10 September 2025). The national minimum of 150 and the four-week CAPS window come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026); News Central’s full list of declared cut-offs from that meeting does not include Rhema. UTME subjects and the general Direct Entry rule are JAMB’s brochure requirements for Human Physiology as reprinted by Myschool. The safe target score, worked example and Anatomy comparison are my advice. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated if Rhema publishes a Physiology cut-off or screening notice.
