Brainfill Polytechnic admission requirements for the National Diploma are a UTME score of at least 100, the right UTME subjects for your course, and five O’level credits including English Language and Mathematics. The 100 figure is both JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics in 2026/2027 and the minimum Brainfill states on its own website. NBTE’s 2025 Directory lists six ND courses at the school in Ikot Ekpene: Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Statistics.
2027/2028 update: Brainfill Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Brainfill is a private polytechnic off Aba Road, Ikot Ekpene, near Mickon Filling Station. It appears on JAMB’s polytechnic list and takes applications through its website and student portal. Its website also advertises courses that are not in NBTE’s directory for the school, which I flag below. This page covers the cut-off, the course list with NBTE status, subjects for each course, how to apply, and my advice.

Brainfill Poly courses and NBTE status
| ND course (NBTE name) | First granted | Current status | Expires | Our guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Administration | 2022 | Accredited (2025) | 1 October 2030 | Cut-off and requirements |
| Public Administration | 2025 | Interim | 1 October 2027 | Cut-off and requirements |
| Computer Engineering | 2022 | Accredited (2025) | 1 October 2030 | Cut-off and requirements |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering | 2022 | Accredited (2025) | 1 October 2030 | Cut-off and requirements |
| Computer Science | 2022 | Accredited (2025) | 1 October 2030 | Cut-off and requirements |
| Statistics | 2025 | Interim | 1 October 2027 | Cut-off and requirements |
NBTE also lists Institutional Administration at Brainfill as accredited to 2030, which covers the school’s general running. Four courses have full accreditation that outlasts a 2027/2028 ND. Public Administration and Statistics are on interim approval to 1 October 2027, so ask how the school plans to secure full accreditation before then.
Courses Brainfill advertises that NBTE does not list
Brainfill’s website also advertises ND Accountancy, ND Renewable Energy and ND Fashion and Designing, and six HND programmes: Software and Web Development, Networking and Cloud Computing, Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Power and Machines), Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Telecommunication and Electronics), Computer Engineering Technology and Business Administration and Management. None of these appears for Brainfill in NBTE’s 2025 Directory. They may be newly approved or still awaiting approval; I could not confirm either. Ask for the NBTE letter before you enrol in one.
Brainfill Poly cut-off mark
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | Brainfill minimum UTME for ND | School website, checked 3 November 2026 |
| Any year | None | Brainfill departmental figure | No published figure found |
Brainfill’s website banner still mentions 2025/2026 while the text talks about 2026/2027 applications, but both give 100 as the minimum. These are my own safe targets for 2027, based on how small private polytechnics fill their classes:
| Course | Legal minimum | My safe target for 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Business Administration | 100 | 115 or more |
| Public Administration | 100 | 110 or more |
| Computer Engineering (Technology) | 100 | 130 or more |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Technology) | 100 | 125 or more |
| Computer Science | 100 | 130 or more |
| Statistics | 100 | 115 or more |
UTME subjects and O’level for each Brainfill course
These are the JAMB polytechnic brochure base rules; I found no Brainfill remark. Use of English is compulsory and not repeated in the table.
| Course | UTME subjects besides Use of English | O’level credits (five in all) |
|---|---|---|
| Business Administration | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Economics, Commerce and Principles of Accounts |
| Public Administration | Government, History and Economics (JAMB polytechnic brochure base line) | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Government or History, Economics and Commerce |
| Computer Engineering (Technology) | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language plus one technical or science subject |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Technology) | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus two from the technical list (get English as one) |
| Computer Science | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics and Chemistry | Mathematics, English Language and Physics plus two others such as Chemistry and Economics |
| Statistics | Mathematics and two of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography or Biology/Agricultural Science (JAMB page did not load; pattern from Federal Polytechnics Offa and Nekede) | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Physics, Economics and Geography |
Three points catch candidates out. Business Administration needs Mathematics in the UTME. Public Administration’s base line is Government, History and Economics, with no Mathematics, though you still need a Mathematics credit at O’level. Computer Science treats Physics as optional in the UTME but compulsory at O’level. For Statistics the JAMB brochure page did not load; English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics fits the published polytechnic patterns.
Part-time and HND
Brainfill’s website says part-time programmes do not require JAMB, and that HND applicants need an ND of at least Lower Credit. Under the standard NBTE rule an HND also needs a year of industrial attachment after the ND. Remember that NBTE lists no HND for Brainfill yet.
How to apply to Brainfill Polytechnic
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: pick your course and choose Brainfill Polytechnic, Ikot Ekpene as your polytechnic. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. CAPS cannot offer you admission without it.
- Apply to Brainfill: use the apply page on Brainfill’s website or the portal at portal.brainfillpolytechnic.edu.ng, or visit the campus. Confirm the course and fee with the admissions office before you pay, and keep every receipt.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing from the bursary, pay only through the channel the school names, and complete medical and departmental registration.
Brainfill does not publish a form price, screening dates or a test format. Ask the admissions office whether there is a written test, what the acceptance fee and first-year fees are, and whether there is a hostel.
Warning
Pay Brainfill fees only through the school’s own website, portal or bursary. Agents selling forms or promising admission have no link to the school, and JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.
My advice
- The four fully accredited NDs (Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic and Computer Science) are the safest choices at Brainfill for 2027/2028.
- For Public Administration or Statistics, ask for the school’s plan for full accreditation before 1 October 2027.
- Check that your course appears under Brainfill on the JAMB portal; I could not open JAMB’s course list for the school.
- Candidates from Ikot Ekpene, Essien Udim, Ikono, Obot Akara and Abak can live at home and save on rent.

Sources and updates
The 2026/2027 polytechnic minimum of 100, the 31 December 2026 deadline and JAMB’s warning against admissions outside CAPS come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026; the 2025/2026 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). Brainfill’s address, its 100 minimum, the part-time and HND rules, the apply page, portal and the advertised courses are from the Brainfill Polytechnic website (checked 3 November 2026). Programme status is from NBTE’s 25th Edition 2025 Directory of Accredited Programmes. The school’s JAMB listing is from a reprint of Chapter 3 of the JAMB brochure. Subject rules are the JAMB polytechnic brochure base lines as reprinted by Myschool, with Federal Polytechnic Offa and Nekede patterns for Statistics. Safe targets are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Brainfill publishes a 2027/2028 notice.
