The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Nursing Science is 150 in the UTME, JAMB’s minimum for universities in 2026/2027. Amadeus University, Amizi has not published a separate Nursing figure. The bigger issue is approval: Amadeus is not on the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria’s list of approved nursing schools (December 2025). NMCN approval decides whether a nursing student can be indexed and whether a graduate can sit the licensing exam, so confirm it in writing before you pay.
2027/2028 update: Amadeus University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Nursing Science (B.N.Sc) is in the Amadeus Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and is the most expensive course in that faculty. This guide covers the official position, the NMCN question and approved alternatives in Abia State, a safe target score (my advice, clearly labelled), the JAMB combination, O’level and Direct Entry, fees, selection and the CAPS steps.

Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. It was founded by Dr Godwin Nwabunka, who chairs the board of Grooming Centre, received its NUC licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023) and held its inaugural matriculation in February 2025. Its Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Samuel Nzotta.
Nursing Science is on Amadeus’s own programme list as B.N.Sc Nursing Science and in the list of 19 Amadeus course names that follows JAMB’s naming (universitycourses.ng, updated February 2026). JAMB’s brochure calls the course Nursing / Nursing Science. I could not open JAMB’s own Amadeus list directly, so check that it shows under Amadeus when you register.
Is Amadeus University Nursing approved by NMCN?
Not on the latest list. I searched NMCN’s “New List of Approved Schools” dated December 2025 for Amadeus, Amizi and Ikwuano and found no entry. I also found no news of an NMCN approval visit to Amadeus. The course is new: Amadeus admitted its first students in 2025.
NMCN approves each nursing programme and gives it a quota. Students on unapproved programmes can have trouble being indexed by the council, and only graduates of approved programmes sit the council’s licensing examination to practise as Registered Nurses. A missing listing does not prove Amadeus has no approval in progress, but it means you should ask for proof.
Before you pay
Ask Amadeus admissions (admissions@amadeus.edu.ng or +234 708 063 1863) for the NMCN letter approving its Nursing Science programme and its quota, and check the school’s name on NMCN’s current approved list. If you cannot get that proof, put an NMCN-approved university first on JAMB.

NMCN’s full approval runs five years and provisional approval two, so Clifford’s July 2023 provisional status should be rechecked with the council. Amadeus has only given course-level scores for Medicine (200 and above) and Pharmacy (180). Nursing has no published figure, so 150 remains the only official number.
Safe target score for Nursing Science at Amadeus (my advice)
Nursing is one of the most competitive courses in Nigeria. Approved public universities often admit at well above 200. Amadeus’s pool is smaller, and it set 200 for Medicine at the same school, which is a useful benchmark. These bands are my own reading.

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 200 or more. That score keeps an NMCN-approved programme within reach, which is the safer first choice while Amadeus’s approval is unconfirmed.

Register Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics is not a UTME subject for Nursing, but you need a Mathematics credit at O’level, and Amadeus asks every applicant for English and Mathematics credits. Physics is the subject Nursing candidates most often lack: without a Physics credit you do not meet the rule.

Direct Entry into Nursing Science
JAMB’s general rule accepts A-level science passes or a Registered Nurse qualification with five O’level credits. Amadeus’s website says nothing about Direct Entry or about RN holders, and some approved universities do not take Direct Entry for Nursing at all. Get a written answer from admissions before you register.
How Amadeus selects Nursing Science candidates
Amadeus has not published a post-UTME test, screening date or form fee for Nursing. Its admission overview says selection weighs academic results together with character, extracurricular activities and social involvement. A 2024 admission blog said applicants are interviewed and must be 16 or older when the course starts. Neither point is on the university’s own page, so confirm with the admissions office.
If there is an interview, the questions most nursing panels ask are simple: why nursing, what a nurse does in a hospital ward, and how you handle stress. Ask your own questions too: NMCN approval, the clinical training hospital, and how many students the department admits.
Worked example (illustrative only)
Amadeus publishes no aggregate formula, so this example checks eligibility against the rules above and my target of 200.
- Chiamaka: UTME 214 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology; credits in all five O’level subjects at one sitting. She meets every rule and is competitive at NMCN-approved universities, so she can choose.
- Nnamdi: UTME 188, right subjects, but a D7 in Physics. He does not meet the O’level rule until he gets a Physics credit at a second sitting.
- Ugochi: UTME 176 with English, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Without Physics in her UTME she does not meet JAMB’s Nursing combination, whatever her score.
Amadeus University Nursing Science school fees
Amadeus publishes its fees on its own tuition and fees page. The page does not print a session heading, but it lists Law as starting in 2026/2027, so it is the current schedule. All amounts are per session. Nursing Science is charged N2,430,000 in tuition.

Add tuition, acceptance and the three other fees and a new Nursing Science student needs about N2,885,000 before accommodation. With a four-person room the first year comes to about N3,435,000, and with a two-person room about N3,785,000. Books, feeding and transport are extra. Amadeus does not say on that page whether fees can be paid in instalments, so ask the bursary before you plan. Nursing students should also budget for uniforms, clinical posting transport and, later, NMCN indexing and examination charges.
The acceptance fee, the three other fees and the N900,000 two-person room were the same in the 2024/2025 schedule Myschool reported in June 2024, so these charges have held steady since the first intake.
Scholarships at Amadeus
The Sun (20 November 2025) reported three schemes linked to the founder: the Dr Godwin Nwabunka Foundation scholarship (tuition, service charges and accommodation for students from low-income homes), Grooming Centre awards (full scholarships for children of its active clients and tuition-only awards for children of its staff), and Grooming Endowment Trust awards for academically strong Nigerian undergraduates. Ask the admissions office whether each one is open in your year and how to apply.
Amadeus applications run only through admissions.amadeus.edu.ng. Classified and forum sites carry posts with private phone numbers claiming the Amadeus Nursing form or admission list is out; ignore them, and remember that a real offer always shows on JAMB CAPS.
How to apply for Nursing Science at Amadeus University, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space, then your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick Amadeus University, Amizi and the course Nursing / Nursing Science, with Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If you wrote another school first, use a JAMB change of institution before admission closes.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre, enter your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB details. Amadeus cannot offer you a place on CAPS without them.
- Apply on the Amadeus portal: create an account at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, choose Nursing Science, fill the form, upload your result and keep your printout.
- Attend selection: Amadeus says it looks at your results together with character, extracurricular activities and background. Ask the admissions office whether there is an interview or test for your intake and when it holds.
- Accept on CAPS: on efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. In 2026 JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept an offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the acceptance fee on the current schedule is N200,000. Pay only through channels on the admission portal or the official fees page, then bring your original documents for clearance.
For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities (NAN, 11 May 2026). Amadeus is private, so that date governed 2026/2027 offers. JAMB also says any admission done outside CAPS is illegal.
Studying Nursing Science at Amadeus University
The degree is B.N.Sc Nursing Science in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. Amadeus does not state the length; B.N.Sc programmes in Nigeria normally run five years, with clinical postings from the early years.
NUC’s consolidated Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 has no Amadeus entry, which is normal for a university that admitted its first students in 2025. Amadeus has said it plans a teaching hospital (The Sun, November 2025); ask where Nursing students do their clinical training until it is built.
What you will study
Amadeus has not posted a course outline. B.N.Sc degrees in Nigeria usually include:
- Basic sciences: anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, physics and chemistry for health sciences.
- Nursing foundations: fundamentals of nursing, nursing ethics and health assessment.
- Clinical nursing: medical-surgical, paediatric, mental health and maternal and child health nursing.
- Community health: public health nursing, nutrition, epidemiology and health education.
- Pharmacology and management: drugs in nursing practice, nursing administration and research methods.
- Practice: ward and community postings and a final-year research project.
After licensing, nurses work in hospitals and clinics, public health programmes, schools, the armed forces, NGOs and research. Many go on to specialise in midwifery, anaesthesia or critical care, or to practise abroad after passing foreign licensing exams.

Mistakes Nursing applicants make
- Not checking NMCN approval: an unapproved programme can stop you from being indexed or licensed.
- No Physics credit: Physics is in both the UTME and O’level rules.
- Writing Mathematics instead of Physics in the UTME: the combination is Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Treating 150 as admission: it only makes you eligible to be considered.
- Paying an agent for a Nursing form: Amadeus admits through its portal and JAMB CAPS only.
