The Gregory University Agriculture cut off mark is not published as a separate figure. Gregory used 140 as its general minimum UTME score in the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 notices, but JAMB’s minimum for universities in 2026 is 150, so 150 is the floor. Agriculture is one of the less crowded courses, and I would treat 160 and above as a safe score. JAMB lists the course at Gregory as Agriculture, so that is the name you register; you do not pick an option such as Animal Science on the JAMB form.
2027/2028 update: Gregory University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest notices Gregory has published (2024/2025 and 2025/2026) and JAMB’s 2026 national minimum, because no 2026/2027 Gregory notice with a score was available. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
I could not find an NUC accreditation result for Gregory’s Agriculture programme: there is no NUC report page for it, and Gregory’s section of NUC’s 1990 to 2025 results publication would not load. Ask the College of Agriculture for its current NUC letter before paying. If you want an Agriculture degree in Abia with a published NUC result, Abia State University (ABSU) has one: its NUC report page shows full accreditation with 84.80%, and NUC’s results publication gives a maturity date of 2029. Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) is the federal agriculture university in the state, though I did not find its Agriculture result either.

Gregory University cut-off history for Agriculture
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | Not published | No Gregory notice with a minimum score was found | JAMB’s university minimum for 2026 is 150 |
| 2025/2026 | 140 | General minimum UTME score for Gregory’s post-UTME (Gregory as first choice) | Myschool reprint of the notice, 24 July 2025 |
| 2024/2025 | 140 | General minimum UTME score (2023 UTME) for screening | Official, Gregory University website, 19 August 2024 |
Gregory has never published a separate figure for Agriculture. The 140 in both notices covered every course. JAMB raised the floor for universities to 150 at its May 2026 policy meeting, so no university can admit a candidate below 150 in the 2026 cycle, and I would not expect the floor to fall back for 2027. Treat 150 as the line you must cross and anything above it as your margin.
Do you still need the UTME for Agriculture in 2027?
Yes, for a degree. At its May 2026 policy meeting JAMB said education programmes and non-engineering agriculture courses were exempted from the UTME, according to TheNigeriaLawyer (11 May 2026). The Minister of Education’s explanation at the same meeting tied the exemption to NCE candidates and to agriculture-related ND courses at polytechnics, and JAMB’s 150 minimum for universities covers degree courses. Gregory admits into a B.Agric degree, so write the UTME, choose Gregory, and score at least 150.
Safe target score for Agriculture at Gregory (my advice)
Agriculture rarely fills up the way Nursing or Law does, and a private university’s fees reduce the number of applicants further. Many candidates who land in Agriculture had applied for a health course and were moved. The bands below are my judgement, not a Gregory rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Gregory Agriculture |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible in the 2026 cycle |
| 150 to 159 | Eligible; admission is possible if your O’level fits |
| 160 to 179 | Good |
| 180 and above | Strong |
UTME subject combination and O’level for Gregory Agriculture
| Requirement | Agriculture |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Physics or Mathematics |
| O’level (JAMB general line) | Five credits including English Language, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and one of Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics |
| O’level (safe version for Gregory) | Credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology, plus Agricultural Science or Physics |
| Sittings | Not more than two (Gregory’s 2025/2026 notice) |
| Direct Entry | Two A level passes in Chemistry and one of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography, Geology or Mathematics |
| Gregory-specific remark | None in the brochure reprint |
These rules come from the JAMB brochure entry for Agriculture as reprinted by Myschool. The page has remarks for many universities; some allow Economics or Geography as the third UTME subject (UNILORIN, IMSU) and some want Physics at O’level (MOUAU, FUTO, DELSU). Gregory has no remark, so the general line applies: Chemistry, then Biology or Agricultural Science, then Physics or Mathematics.
Notice that the general O’level line does not name Mathematics as compulsory. It lets Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics fill the last slot. I would still get a Mathematics credit, because nearly every university checks for English and Mathematics at clearance. If you plan to use Agricultural Science in place of Biology, also have at least a pass in Biology; several universities on the page insist on it.
For Direct Entry, the general rule is two A level passes with Chemistry plus one related subject. Other universities on the same page accept ND, HND or NCE (Agriculture) through their own remarks, but Gregory has no remark, so ask its admissions office whether it takes ND or NCE holders and at what level.
How Gregory University screening works for Agriculture
Gregory runs an online post-UTME registration. The details below come from the university’s 2024 notice and the 2025/2026 notice as reprinted by Myschool. I could not find 2026/2027 dates or a new fee, so treat the fee as last year’s figure.
| Detail | What Gregory has published |
|---|---|
| Where to apply | gregoryuniversityuturu.edu.ng/postutme |
| Who can apply | Candidates who chose Gregory University in the UTME and met the minimum score (140 in 2024/2025 and 2025/2026; JAMB’s floor is now 150) |
| Fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable, paid with an ATM card (2025/2026 notice) |
| Uploads | Passport photograph (PDF), UTME result slip, O’level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) |
| O’level sittings | Up to two sittings |
| Test or interview | Not stated in any notice; Gregory has not said whether it runs a CBT |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
| Other routes | Gregory’s site has links for transfer, JUPEB and distance learning; Direct Entry candidates are screened too |
Worked example for an Agriculture candidate
Gregory has not published how it ranks candidates, so there is no official aggregate to calculate. You can still check your margin above the floor and whether your O’level fits the course. The method below is my illustration, not a Gregory formula.
Take Uche, who scored 163 with English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics, and has C4 in English, C5 in Mathematics, B3 in Biology, C6 in Chemistry and B2 in Agricultural Science from one sitting.
- National floor: 163 minus 150 = 13.
- Against my safe target: 163 minus 160 = 3. He is in the good band.
- O’level check: English, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics are credits, with Agricultural Science as a fifth. That meets the rule.
- What I would advise: register for screening early and keep Agriculture as his course.
Ngozi scored 175 with English, Biology, Chemistry and Economics. Her score is good, but Economics is not one of the third-subject options in JAMB’s general line for Agriculture, and Gregory has no remark that adds it. She should ask Gregory before screening whether it will consider her, and choose Physics or Mathematics next time.
How to apply for Agriculture at Gregory University, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: pick Agriculture as the course and Use of English, Chemistry, Biology (or Agricultural Science) and Physics or Mathematics as your subjects, with Gregory University, Uturu as your first choice.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Gregory was not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before you register for screening. The 2025/2026 notice was for candidates who chose Gregory first.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. A university cannot recommend you on CAPS without it.
- Register for screening: on the Gregory post-UTME portal, fill the form, upload your passport photograph (PDF), UTME result and O’level result, then pay the screening fee online.
- Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and then Access my CAPS. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Accept on CAPS: accept the offer, print your JAMB admission letter, then follow Gregory’s instructions for the acceptance fee and clearance. I did not find Gregory’s acceptance fee in any source, so confirm the amount on the official portal before paying.
Warning
Gregory University tells applicants to pay only through its official portals and says it has no authorised agents. Every genuine admission shows on JAMB CAPS, so ignore anyone selling a “slot” or a “special list”.
For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). JAMB also said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal. The phone lines on Gregory’s 2024 admission notice were 0806 094 4681 and 0803 733 3920.
Studying Agriculture at Gregory University
Gregory University is a private university licensed in 2012 and sited at Amaokwe Achara, Uturu, in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State. Its founder is Prof. Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe. The university lists twelve colleges on its website and says it runs over 55 programmes. A Voice of Nigeria report in September 2026 named Prof. Cele U. Njoku as Vice-Chancellor.
Agriculture sits in Gregory’s College of Agriculture. JAMB lists one course, Agriculture, and AdmitNode lists the options inside it as Agricultural Economics and Extension, Animal Science, Crop Science and Soil Science. In most Nigerian B.Agric programmes, students share the same courses for the early years, spend a year on farm practice, and choose an option for the final years. Gregory has not published its structure or duration; a B.Agric in Nigeria normally takes five years.
NUC accreditation
NUC report pages name Gregory for English Language and Literature in English, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, Insurance, Medical Laboratory Science and Health Education, all with full accreditation. None covers Agriculture. For comparison, this is what I could confirm for nearby universities:
| University | Agriculture NUC result | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Gregory University, Uturu | Not found | No NUC report page; results publication unreadable for Gregory |
| Abia State University, Uturu | Full, 84.80%; maturity 2029 | NUC report entry 5432; NUC results publication |
| Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike | Not found | Federal agriculture university; ask the university |

Mistakes that cost Agriculture applicants
- Assuming the 2026 exemption covers degrees: it was tied to NCE and ND; a B.Agric still needs the UTME.
- Planning with 140: JAMB’s 150 floor applies now.
- Economics as the third UTME subject: the general line wants Physics or Mathematics.
- No Chemistry credit: it is in every version of the O’level rule.
- Gregory not as first choice: fix it with a change of institution before screening.
If you missed out this year, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts.
Gregory University Agriculture cut off mark: FAQs
Is 150 enough for Agriculture at Gregory University? 150 is the least you can apply with in the 2026 cycle. Agriculture is not heavily contested, so 150 can work with good O’level credits, but 160 or more gives you room.
Can I use Agricultural Science instead of Biology for Gregory Agriculture? Yes. JAMB’s rule accepts Biology or Agricultural Science in both the UTME and O’level. I would still keep at least a pass in Biology.
Is Physics compulsory for Agriculture at Gregory University? No. The UTME accepts Physics or Mathematics, and the O’level line lets Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics fill the last credit. Gregory has no remark asking for Physics.
Is Gregory University Agriculture accredited by NUC? I could not find an NUC result for it. ABSU’s Agriculture has full accreditation, so ask Gregory for its letter before you pay.
