Trinity Poly admission requirements for the National Diploma come down to three things: a UTME score of at least 100, JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics; the right UTME subjects for your course; and five O’level credits including English Language and Mathematics. Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, has not published its own cut-off mark for any course in any year I could trace. Eight ND courses on JAMB’s list for it are genuine polytechnic courses, and those are the ones this page covers.
2027/2028 update: Trinity Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum, because Trinity Poly has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
NBTE’s 2020 Directory lists it as a private polytechnic (serial number 129) at Mbak Road, Ita Itai, Uyo LGA, P.M.B. 3997, Uyo, approved in 2016. The last admission advert I could find is the 2023/2024 ND/HND advert reprinted by Myschool on 28 June 2023. It pointed to an admission page on trinitypoly.edu.ng that Myschool itself flagged as not existing at the time. I found no 2026/2027 notice, fee list or screening timetable. It has no link to Trinity University in Lagos.
Trinity Poly admission requirements at a glance

| ND courses on JAMB’s list | 8 | Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, Mass Communication and Science Laboratory Technology |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus course subjects (some courses differ; see below) | JAMB polytechnic brochure |
| Last admission advert found | 2023/2024 ND/HND advert | Myschool reprint, 28 June 2023 |
| Form fee, screening, school fees | Not published | No current notice from the school found |
| Programme accreditation for each course | Not confirmed | Ask the school for NBTE letters |
| JAMB deadline for 2026/2027 polytechnic admissions | 31 December 2026 | Official (JAMB, reported by NAN); runs until 31 December 2026 |
JAMB’s list for Trinity Poly has 18 entries, and ten of them are degree-style names: Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, English and Literary Studies, Industrial Chemistry, Information Technology, Microbiology, Nursing/Nursing Science, Physics with Electronics and Political Science. Those are not NBTE ND programmes, and a polytechnic cannot award degrees on its own. They may be a data error or names from an HND list. I would not register for any of them through the UTME without written confirmation from the school.
The 2023/2024 advert also named Public Administration, Building Technology and Architecture, which are not on JAMB’s list for the school now. Choose a course that is on both.
Trinity Poly cut-off mark: what the figures say
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum UTME score for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Trinity Poly figure for any course | No published figure in any source I found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic floor at 100 for two years running. A polytechnic may set a higher mark for itself, but Trinity Poly has never announced one that I could find. So 100 is the legal minimum you must have, and anything above it improves your position at screening.
Safe target scores (my advice)
These are my own targets, based on how small private polytechnics usually admit and on how popular each course tends to be. Trinity Poly publishes no merit lists or applicant numbers.
| Course | Legal minimum | My safe target for 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Engineering Technology | 100 | 130 or more |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | 100 | 125 or more |
| Estate Management and Valuation | 100 | 115 or more |
| Accountancy | 100 | 130 or more |
| Business Administration and Management | 100 | 120 or more |
| Mass Communication | 100 | 130 or more |
| Computer Science | 100 | 135 or more |
| Science Laboratory Technology | 100 | 125 or more |
Computing and the busier management courses get the higher targets. If your score is between 100 and the target, you can still apply; your O’level and screening will carry more weight.
UTME subject combination for each Trinity Poly course
Use of English is compulsory for every UTME candidate, so the brochure lists only your other three subjects. I read each course page on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s polytechnic brochure on 3 November 2026. None of the remarks on the eight pages names Trinity Poly, so the base rule applies to every course.
| Course | UTME subjects besides Use of English | Source status |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | JAMB brochure |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | JAMB brochure |
| Estate Management and Valuation | Mathematics and any two of Economics, Arts, Physics, Chemistry and Biology | JAMB brochure |
| Accountancy | Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | JAMB brochure |
| Business Administration and Management | Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | JAMB brochure |
| Mass Communication | Any three subjects from Arts, Social Science or Physical Science | JAMB brochure |
| Computer Science | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics or Chemistry | JAMB brochure |
| Science Laboratory Technology | Any three of Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Physics | JAMB brochure |
Estate Management’s line allows “Arts” as an option, but Geography, which many candidates expect, is not on it. Mass Communication’s line is wide open: any three subjects from Arts, Social Science or Physical Science, with Literature not compulsory.
Science Laboratory Technology’s base line, as reprinted, is Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Physics. Chemistry appears only in other schools’ remarks, none of which names Trinity Poly.
Computer Science trips up many candidates. Physics is optional in the UTME, but the O’level rule makes a Physics credit compulsory, and Biology is not on the UTME list at all. I would write Physics in the UTME so there is no gap.
O’level requirements for Trinity Poly courses
| Course | O’level credits (five in all) |
|---|---|
| Computer Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus two from Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics or Commerce. The page also says a credit in English Language is required |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus two from Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics or Commerce. The standard NBTE ND rule also requires a credit in English Language, so make English one of the two |
| Estate Management and Valuation | Mathematics, English Language, a basic science and two from Geography, Economics or Commerce, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Woodwork, Literature, Metal Work, Principles of Accounts and Book Keeping, and Government |
| Accountancy | English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Typewriting and Shorthand |
| Business Administration and Management | English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History or Government, Typewriting and Shorthand |
| Mass Communication | English Language and Mathematics, plus three from History, Literature in English, Economics or Commerce, Fine Arts, Government, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electricity, Geography, Typewriting and Commerce or Principles of Accounting |
| Computer Science | Mathematics, a basic science and three others from Economics, Geography, Government or History, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, English Language and Typewriting. Credits in English Language and Physics are compulsory |
| Science Laboratory Technology | Mathematics and two of Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science or Health Science, and Chemistry, plus two from Technical Drawing, Metal Work or Woodwork, Basic Electricity, Geography, Further Mathematics and Fine Arts. Credits in each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and in English Language, are compulsory |
For Science Laboratory Technology, credits in all three of Biology, Chemistry and Physics are compulsory, plus English and Mathematics. For Mass Communication, many arts students forget that Mathematics is still a required credit.
The school has published nothing on awaiting results. JAMB’s rule is simple: CAPS cannot offer you admission until your O’level result is uploaded, so have it on the portal before the school processes its list.
Direct Entry and HND
ND entry is through the UTME, and the brochure’s Direct Entry sections are blank for these courses. The 2023/2024 advert did not separate ND from HND, but it named options such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Biology, Physics with Electronics, Power and Machines, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Instrumentation and Control. Those are normally HND options after ND Science Laboratory Technology or ND Electrical/Electronics. Under the standard NBTE rule, an HND needs an ND at Lower Credit or better plus a year of industrial attachment, and you apply directly to the polytechnic, outside CAPS.
Screening at Trinity Poly
Trinity Poly has not published a 2026/2027 screening notice, form price or timetable that I could find. Its 2023/2024 advert pointed applicants to an admission page on trinitypoly.edu.ng, and Myschool noted at the time that the link did not exist. Ask the office these questions:
- Is my course admitting for 2027/2028, and does it have NBTE accreditation?
- How much is the form, where do I pay, and what is the closing date?
- Is there a written test or interview, and on which subjects?
- What are the acceptance fee and first-year fees, and is there a hostel?
Worked example (illustrative)
Take Idara, who wants Mass Communication. She scored 133 in English, Literature in English, Government and Economics. Her WAEC has credits in English, Mathematics, Literature, Government and Economics from one sitting.
- JAMB minimum: 133 is 33 above 100, so she is eligible.
- My safe target: 133 clears my 130 line for Mass Communication.
- UTME subjects: Literature, Government and Economics are arts and social science subjects, which the open line allows.
- O’level: English and Mathematics are there, with three subjects from the course list.
If the school used a 50:50 ranking, 133 divided by 8 gives 16.625 out of 50, and 30 out of 50 at screening would bring her to 46.625. That formula is only an illustration; Trinity Poly has not published one.
How to apply to Trinity Poly, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: choose your course and pick Trinity Polytechnic as your polytechnic. If you picked another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is released.
- Contact the polytechnic: visit the campus on Mbak Road, Ita Itai, Uyo, confirm that your course is admitting this year, and pay only through the channel the school names.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts from the bursary in writing, pay through the channel the school names, then complete medical and departmental registration.
Warning
Trinity Poly’s admission web page was not working when its last advert was reprinted, so be careful with any site or agent selling its forms. Confirm on campus, and remember that JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.
Your chances and my advice
- If you meet the subject rules and score 100 or more, your main risk is that your course is not admitting this year. Confirm on campus first.
- Candidates living in and around Uyo save on rent by studying from home, which matters over a two-year ND.
- Computer Science, Mass Communication and Accountancy usually draw the most applicants; Estate Management and Business Administration tend to be easier to enter.
- Stay away from the degree-style names on JAMB’s list for the school unless the school confirms them in writing.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
