The Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Accountancy is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi has not published a separate cut-off for ND Accountancy, and I found no departmental figure for earlier years either.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Mubi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Clearing 100 only makes you eligible. Accountancy is one of the busiest ND courses in most Nigerian polytechnics, and Fed Poly Mubi is unlikely to be different, so the score that wins a place is higher. This page covers the verified figures, a safe target score, the subject combination, O’level rules, screening and the CAPS steps.
Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Accountancy at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |

| School | School of Business and Management Technology | 2026/2027 notice (Myschool reprint) |

| On the 2026/2027 advert? | Yes | Listed under its school in the 2026/2027 ND/HND notice (Myschool reprint, 8 August 2026) |
| Screening fee and dates | Not published officially | Check the polytechnic portal |
| Admission deadline set by JAMB | 31 December 2026 for polytechnics (2026/2027) | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
Do not mix this school up with the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAM). They are two separate federal institutions in the same town. The polytechnic awards the ND and HND and uses the 100 polytechnic minimum; the university awards degrees and follows the 150 university minimum. On your JAMB profile, Fed Poly Mubi is listed as Federal Polytechnic, Mubi (MUBIPOLY on the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s course list).
Fed Poly Mubi Accountancy cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Fed Poly Mubi cut-off for Accountancy specifically | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic minimum at 100 in both 2025 and 2026. Fed Poly Mubi may admit above that line for some courses, but it has not announced a figure for Accountancy. If a website quotes an exact “Fed Poly Mubi Accountancy cut-off” such as 140 or 160, ask where it came from.
Safe target score for Accountancy at Fed Poly Mubi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a Fed Poly Mubi rule, and the polytechnic has not published merit lists with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Accountancy at Fed Poly Mubi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 129 | Eligible, but weak for a course that many people apply for |
| 130 to 159 | Reasonable |
| 160 to 189 | Competitive |
| 190 and above | Strong. This is the range I would aim for. |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 160, with credits in English, Mathematics and Economics, and ideally Principles of Accounts.
Catchment and state of origin
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic in Adamawa State, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. It admits candidates from across Nigeria. I would not count on a state-of-origin advantage unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Mubi Accountancy subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Accountancy |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language (not Literature) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| Fed Poly Mubi remark in the brochure | None |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE are the usual ones; Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own list for this course |
| Sittings | Not stated by Fed Poly Mubi; two sittings is the common polytechnic limit |
| Interview or practical | None published |
Mathematics is compulsory in the UTME for Accountancy. For the other two subjects I would pick Economics and Principles of Accounts, because they match your first-semester courses. Commerce, Government or Geography also satisfy the brochure.
At O’level, the brochure is specific that English Language, not Literature in English, must be one of the credits. Mathematics must be a credit too. A pass in either rules you out of Accountancy, and Fed Poly Mubi has no remark relaxing that for this course.
Direct Entry and the HND route
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Accountancy admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and industrial attachment, you can apply directly to the polytechnic for HND Accountancy, which is on the blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND courses.
For details of the HND form, see our Fed Poly Mubi HND admission requirements guide. The HND course list there comes from a blog, so check it on the portal.
How Fed Poly Mubi screening works
Fed Poly Mubi has not put its 2026/2027 screening details in any source I could reach. Its website at fpmubieportal.edu.ng has an Admission Portal link, and two reprints of the session’s notices exist, but neither gives a fee, a date or a test format. Here is what is known.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice | Announced; reprint lists programmes by school but is cut off in the engineering list | Myschool reprint, 8 August 2026 |
| Post-UTME form for ND full time | Released for 2026/2027 | AbsTechConnect, 12 August 2026 (blog) |
| Who can apply | The blog says candidates who did not choose the polytechnic can still apply | Unofficial; you would still need a change of institution before CAPS can admit you |
| Minimum UTME score | 100 | JAMB rule |
| Screening fee | Not published | Unknown |
| Screening date and format | Not published | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
Because the polytechnic has not said how it ranks applicants, the safest plan is a UTME score well above 100 and a clean O’level record on CAPS.
Worked example for an ND Accountancy applicant
Fed Poly Mubi has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring the gap between your score, the 100 minimum and a safe target. Take Aisha, who scored 171.
- Eligibility: 171 minus 100 = 71. Aisha is above JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics.
- Against my safe target: 171 minus 160 = 11. That puts the application in a good position.
- Subject check: she wrote Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts with English, which matches the brochure line.
- O’level check: credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Principles of Accounts from one sitting, uploaded to CAPS.
Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. Aisha’s 171 gives 21.38, and a screening score of 30 out of 50 would give 51.38 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Mubi has not published one.
Your chances of getting Accountancy at Fed Poly Mubi
- Accountancy usually draws more applicants than other business courses, so expect stiffer competition than for Cooperative Economics or Office Technology and Management.
- A UTME score in the 150s or above, plus clean O’level results on CAPS, puts you in a good position in my view.
- If your score is near 100, a place in Accountancy is unlikely, and you should be ready to accept a related course if the polytechnic offers one on CAPS.
- Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline. For the 2026/2027 session JAMB set 31 December 2026 for polytechnics, so keep checking CAPS until then.
If the polytechnic offers you Banking and Finance or Business Administration and Management instead, I would take it seriously. Both share first-year courses with Accountancy and still lead to HND and professional exams.
How to apply for Accountancy at Fed Poly Mubi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Accountancy and register Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, not the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Mubi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot offer you admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
- Fill the screening form: open the Admission Portal link on fpmubieportal.edu.ng, pay only through the invoice the portal generates, complete the form and print every slip it gives you.
- Attend screening if called: take your UTME result slip, O’level results and the portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Mubi has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through a portal invoice in your name, then complete clearance.
Warning
Admission into Fed Poly Mubi comes through JAMB CAPS. If anyone offers you a “special list” slot or a “direct admission” for money, walk away. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through a portal invoice in your name.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Accountancy at Fed Poly Mubi
ND Accountancy sits in the School of Business and Management Technology at Fed Poly Mubi. The ND trains you to keep books, prepare accounts and handle basic tax and audit work.
What you study
- Financial accounting and bookkeeping, from the double entry system to final accounts
- Cost accounting and basic management accounting
- Business law, economics and business mathematics or statistics
- Introductory taxation and public sector accounting
- Computer applications, including spreadsheets and accounting packages
- Communication in English and general studies courses
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT) before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Mubi has not published a course timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). I could not confirm the current NBTE accreditation status of ND Accountancy itself. Ask the department, or check the NBTE’s list of accredited programmes, before you pay school fees.
Careers after the ND
- Accounts clerk, bookkeeper or audit assistant
- Revenue and tax offices, including state internal revenue services
- Microfinance banks and cooperatives
- HND Accountancy, and later professional exams with bodies such as ICAN or ANAN

Mistakes that cost Accountancy applicants a place at Fed Poly Mubi
- Treating 100 as a safe score: it is the minimum to apply, not a promise of admission.
- Leaving out Mathematics in the UTME: the brochure makes it compulsory.
- Literature in place of English Language: the brochure asks for an English Language credit, not Literature.
- Choosing the wrong Mubi institution: the polytechnic and the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi are separate choices on JAMB.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot process your admission without it.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and clearance at the polytechnic are separate steps.
Fed Poly Mubi Accountancy cut-off: frequently asked questions
Is 140 enough for Accountancy in Fed Poly Mubi? It is well above JAMB’s 100 minimum, so you will be considered. For a comfortable chance in a crowded course like Accountancy, I would aim for 160 or more.
Can I study Accountancy at Fed Poly Mubi without Principles of Accounts? Yes. Principles of Accounts is one of several UTME options with Economics, Commerce, Government and Geography. Mathematics is the subject you cannot leave out.
Does Fed Poly Mubi accept two sittings for Accountancy? Fed Poly Mubi has not published a sittings rule. Most Nigerian polytechnics accept up to two sittings for ND, but one sitting is safer, so confirm on the portal.
Does Fed Poly Mubi have HND Accountancy? Yes, according to the blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND programmes. You apply directly after your ND and one-year industrial attachment.
Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The course list is from the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Federal Polytechnic, Mubi course list and the 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice reprinted by Myschool on 8 August 2026, which is cut off after the first engineering course. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (Accountancy brochure page), which has no Fed Poly Mubi remark. The 2026/2027 post-UTME form report is from AbsTechConnect (12 August 2026) and is unofficial. The polytechnic’s history (founded in 1979, moved from Yola to Mubi in 1982) is from Wikipedia, and the separation from the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi is from Leadership’s report on the 2023 approval of that university. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Mubi publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
