Sure Foundation Poly Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Sure Foundation Poly admits ND candidates with JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100. See its 6 courses on JAMB’s list, UTME subjects, O’level credits, NBTE status and how to apply for 2027/2028.

Sure Foundation Poly admission requirements for the National Diploma come down to three things: a UTME score of at least 100, JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics; the right UTME subjects for your course, which for this school include its own remarks in JAMB’s brochure; and five O’level credits in no more than two sittings. Sure Foundation Polytechnic, Ikot Akai, in Ukanafun LGA, has not published its own cut-off mark for any course in any year I could trace. JAMB’s list shows six ND courses for it.

2027/2028 update: Sure Foundation Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum, because Sure Foundation Poly has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

NBTE’s 2020 Directory lists it as a private polytechnic (serial number 117) approved in 2016. The school’s website is sfp.edu.ng: a 2021 admission notice reprinted by Myschool told admitted candidates to check their status there under Admission and then finish registration on campus. I found no 2026/2027 notice, fee list or screening timetable. Do not confuse it with Foundation Polytechnic (Foundation College of Technology), Ikot Ekpene, which is a different institution.

Most small polytechnics in Akwa Ibom have no remarks of their own in JAMB’s brochure, so the base rules apply. Sure Foundation Poly is different: it has its own remarks on the Accountancy, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics and Public Administration pages. They change which subjects you need, so read the tables below carefully.

Any yearNoneSure Foundation Poly figure for any courseNo published figure in any source I found

JAMB kept the polytechnic floor at 100 for two years running. A polytechnic may set a higher mark for itself, but Sure Foundation Poly has never announced one that I could find. So 100 is the legal minimum you must have, and anything above it improves your position at screening.

Safe target scores (my advice)

These are my own targets, based on how small private polytechnics usually admit and on how popular each course tends to be. Sure Foundation Poly publishes no merit lists or applicant numbers.

CourseLegal minimumMy safe target for 2027
Accountancy100130 or more
Public Administration100115 or more
Computer Engineering Technology100130 or more
Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology100125 or more
Computer Science100135 or more
Statistics100120 or more

Computing and the busier management courses get the higher targets. If your score is between 100 and the target, you can still apply; your O’level and screening will carry more weight.

UTME subject combination for each Sure Foundation Poly course

Use of English is compulsory for every UTME candidate, so the brochure lists only your other three subjects. I read each course page on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s polytechnic brochure on 3 November 2026. Five of the six pages have remarks naming SURE-POLY, the code Myschool uses for this school. I have added each one next to the base line.

CourseUTME subjects besides Use of EnglishSource status
AccountancyMathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics. School remark: Mathematics, Economics and any other subjectJAMB brochure, with a remark naming Sure Foundation Poly
Public AdministrationGovernment, History and Economics. School remark: Government, Economics and any other subjectJAMB brochure, with a remark naming Sure Foundation Poly
Computer Engineering TechnologyMathematics, Physics and Chemistry. School remark: Mathematics, Physics and any other subjectJAMB brochure, with a remark naming Sure Foundation Poly
Electrical/Electronic Engineering TechnologyMathematics, Physics and Chemistry. School remark: Mathematics, Physics and ChemistryJAMB brochure, with a remark naming Sure Foundation Poly
Computer ScienceMathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics or Chemistry. School remark: “Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or any other Science subject” and “Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject”JAMB brochure, with a remark naming Sure Foundation Poly
StatisticsMathematics and two related subjects (the brochure page did not load; see the note below)Brochure page would not load; confirm on JAMB’s e-brochure

What the remarks change. Accountancy: Economics becomes compulsory in the UTME. Computer Science: Physics becomes compulsory, and one of the two remarks also wants a science as the third subject. Computer Engineering: the third subject can be anything, though Chemistry is still my pick because the base rule fixes it. Electrical/Electronics: the UTME line stays the same. Public Administration: History is no longer required; you need Government and Economics plus any other subject.

The Statistics page on Myschool’s brochure reprint loaded empty when I checked, as it has for other researchers. For a guide, Federal Polytechnic Offa’s Statistics department asks for Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics or Commerce, Geography, Computer Studies, Government and Biology or Agricultural Science; Federal Polytechnic Nekede uses Mathematics plus two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology or Agricultural Science and Geography. English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics fits both, so it is the safest pick until you confirm JAMB’s line.

O’level requirements for Sure Foundation Poly courses

CourseO’level credits (five in all)
AccountancyEnglish Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Typewriting and Shorthand. For this school: plan for credits in English, Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts, plus one more, in no more than two sittings.
Public AdministrationEnglish Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History or Government, Typewriting and Shorthand. For this school: plan for credits in English, Economics and Government plus two others, and at least a pass in Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
Computer Engineering TechnologyMathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus two from Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics or Commerce. The page also says a credit in English Language is required. For this school: plan for credits in English, Mathematics and Physics, plus two of Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Biology and Agricultural Science, in no more than two sittings. Chemistry should be one of them.
Electrical/Electronic Engineering TechnologyMathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus two from Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics or Commerce. For this school: plan for credits in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus one more science subject such as Biology, Agricultural Science or Further Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
Computer ScienceMathematics, a basic science and three others from Economics, Geography, Government or History, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, English Language and Typewriting. Credits in English Language and Physics are compulsory. For this school: plan for credits in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus one of Biology, Economics, Geography or Agricultural Science, in no more than two sittings.
StatisticsFive credits including English Language and Mathematics, at least one science and two others (Federal Polytechnic Offa pattern; the JAMB page did not load)

The O’level remarks matter too. For Electrical/Electronics, English becomes compulsory and your fifth credit must be a science. For Public Administration, Mathematics needs only a pass, while English, Economics and Government must be credits. Every SURE-POLY remark limits you to two sittings.

The school has published nothing on awaiting results. JAMB’s rule is simple: CAPS cannot offer you admission until your O’level result is uploaded, so have it on the portal before the school processes its list.

Direct Entry and HND

ND entry is through the UTME, and the brochure’s Direct Entry sections are blank for these courses. For HND, a blog list (schoolings.org, page updated 12 March 2026) shows Accountancy, Business Administration and Public Administration in a School of Management and Business Studies, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering in a School of Engineering. The same page gives a ₦5,000 HND form, asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above with a year of industrial attachment, and points to an application page on sfp.edu.ng. I could not match it to an official notice, so confirm the price and list with the school. HND admission is outside UTME and CAPS.

Screening at Sure Foundation Poly

Sure Foundation Poly has not published a 2026/2027 screening notice or form price that I could find. The newest school notice I found is from January 2021, reprinted by Myschool: candidates who received an admission SMS were told to check their status on sfp.edu.ng under Admission and then complete registration on campus, with directions from Uyo through Itam and Abak. Ask the office these questions:

  • Is my course admitting for 2027/2028, and does it have NBTE accreditation?
  • How much is the form, where do I pay, and what is the closing date?
  • Is there a written test or interview, and on which subjects?
  • What are the acceptance fee and first-year fees, and is there a hostel?

Worked example (illustrative)

Take Ifiok, who wants Public Administration. He scored 116 in English, Government, Economics and Literature in English. His WAEC has credits in English, Government, Economics, Literature in English and CRS, and a pass (D7) in Mathematics, from one sitting.

  1. JAMB minimum: 116 is 16 above 100, so he is eligible.
  2. My safe target: 116 clears my 115 line for Public Administration.
  3. UTME subjects: at most polytechnics, Literature would not fit, because the base line needs History. The SURE-POLY remark accepts Government, Economics and any other subject, so he qualifies here.
  4. O’level: the SURE-POLY remark needs credits in English, Economics and Government plus two others, and only a pass in Mathematics. His result fits.

This is exactly the kind of case where a school remark changes the answer. If CAPS moved Ifiok to another polytechnic, his Literature and his Mathematics pass could both become problems. The 50:50 ranking I use elsewhere would give him 14.5 out of 50 from the UTME; Sure Foundation Poly has not published any formula.

How to apply to Sure Foundation Poly, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME with the right subjects: choose your course and pick Sure Foundation Polytechnic (short code SURE-POLY) as your polytechnic. If you picked another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
  3. Upload your O’level result to CAPS: visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is released.
  4. Check with the school: use sfp.edu.ng and the admissions office at Ikot Akai to confirm your course is admitting, how the form is sold and what it costs. The 2021 notice gave directions from Uyo through Itam and Abak.
  5. Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts from the bursary in writing, pay through the channel the school names, then complete medical and departmental registration.

Warning

Pay Sure Foundation Poly only through channels the school itself names on sfp.edu.ng or at its admissions office. Nobody can sell you a place, and JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.

Your chances and my advice

  • If you meet the subject rules, including the school’s remarks, and score 100 or more, your main risk is that your course is not admitting this year. Confirm on sfp.edu.ng or at the office.
  • Candidates from Ukanafun, Abak, Oruk Anam, Etim Ekpo and Essien Udim save on transport and rent by studying close to home.
  • Because Sure Foundation Poly has its own remarks, a combination that works here may not work elsewhere, and the reverse. If you list it as one of several choices, pick subjects that satisfy both the base line and the remark.
  • JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
