School of Midwifery Amachara admission requirements for 2027/2028, going by the last Abia basic midwifery advert, are five O’level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at no more than two sittings, plus the state entrance exam for the three-year Basic Midwifery programme. Midwifery at Amachara is run by the College of Nursing Sciences, Amachara, which holds full NMCN approval for midwifery (September 2021). No cut-off mark has been published.

They come from the latest notices we could find (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
The same college moved its nursing intake to ND Nursing through the UTME and JAMB CAPS for 2026/2027. Midwifery has had no new notice since the 2024 advert, so the 2027 route could go either way. Midwifery or ND Nursing at Amachara: which route?
Amachara offers two ways in for a school leaver, and they now work differently.

If you are sure you want to deliver babies and work in maternity care, basic midwifery is the direct route. If you want the wider options of a nurse, and perhaps midwifery later, the ND Nursing route at the same college is the one with a confirmed 2026/2027 intake. With a UTME result, you can keep both open.
Does School of Midwifery Amachara require JAMB?
The 2024 advert, reprinted by Myschool on 26 February 2024 and by Studentship, did not ask for JAMB. Applicants bought the form through a Remita invoice on the state portal and sat a written exam.
Since then the college’s nursing programme has moved to JAMB. I would write the 2027 UTME with English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. If midwifery stays on the state exam, you have spent one registration fee; if it moves to CAPS, or you switch to ND Nursing, you are already eligible.

How the Amachara midwifery entrance exam ran in 2024
The Abia State Government advertised one Basic Midwifery intake for three schools: Abiriba, Amachara and ABSUTH, Aba. Candidates:
- Generated an invoice: on abianursingschools.edu.ng and paid through Remita.
- Completed the form: with the RRR number, then printed the slip.
- Submitted the slip: a photocopy to the Nursing Services Department, Ministry of Health, New Secretariat, Umuahia.
- Wrote the exam: forms went on sale from 26 February 2024 and the exam was in late March 2024.
The fee was not shown in the reprints. An undated 2025 post quoted ₦10,000 for the Umuahia and Amachara nursing form, not for midwifery, so do not plan with it.
Worked example (illustrative)
- Candidate: Chidinma, 18, with credits in all five subjects from WAEC and NECO.
- Plan: she wants midwifery but writes the 2027 UTME and scores 183.
- Two routes open: if the midwifery advert comes out on the state portal, she applies there. If it does not, she still has 183 for ND Nursing at Amachara, 33 above the 2026 minimum.
- Later: as a nurse she could add midwifery through post-basic training.
How to apply to School of Midwifery Amachara, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the 2027 UTME: choose a nursing course with English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics; this covers both the midwifery and ND Nursing routes at Amachara.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at an accredited CBT centre, have WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results added to your JAMB record. If you used two sittings, upload both. Check on CAPS that every subject and grade shows correctly.
- Watch for the official notice: look for an Abia State basic midwifery advert that names Amachara. Pay only through the official portal invoice it gives, or apply on CAPS if that is what it says.
- Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer and print your JAMB admission letter later.
- Pay acceptance and clear: the school or the Abia State Ministry of Health will give the acceptance fee, medical test and document checklist. None of these fees has been published officially, so pay only through the channel named in the official letter or portal.
Warning
Posts saying an Abia nursing or midwifery “form is out, call 070…” are run by agents, not the schools. The 2026/2027 ND Nursing intake went through JAMB CAPS, and older entrance forms were paid through a Remita invoice on the state portal. Never pay a private phone number or a personal account for a form, a “slot” or an admission list.

About midwifery at the College of Nursing Sciences, Amachara
The college is a state government school near Umuahia under the Abia State Ministry of Health. It trains both nurses and midwives. Its midwifery approval (full, September 2021) is level with ABSUTH’s and stronger than Abiriba’s provisional post-basic listing:

Is Amachara School of Midwifery form out for 2027/2028? No official midwifery notice had been published by 29 October 2026. The last confirmed basic midwifery advert was in February 2024.
Does School of Midwifery Amachara accept JAMB? The 2024 advert did not require JAMB. The college’s nursing programme moved to the UTME and CAPS in 2026, so I would write the 2027 UTME as a safeguard.
Is Amachara midwifery accredited by NMCN? Yes. The December 2025 list gives the College of Nursing, Amachara full approval for midwifery, dated September 2021.
How many years is midwifery in Amachara? Basic midwifery runs for three years, according to the 2024 Abia State advert.
