Peaceland University Psychology Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 & Admission Requirements

Peaceland University Psychology needs at least 150 in the UTME, with no separate cut-off published. See the JAMB subjects, why Biology helps, O’level, fees, CAPS steps and accreditation status.

The Peaceland University Psychology cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s minimum for all universities in 2026/2027. Peaceland has not announced a separate Psychology cut-off or a general minimum of its own in any notice I could find, so 150 is the score that makes you eligible to apply.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Psychology is a B.Sc. in Peaceland’s Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences. It appears on JAMB’s course list for Peaceland as Psychology, and on the university’s own current programme list. This page covers the figures, a safe target score, the subjects (including why I would sit Biology), O’level and Direct Entry rules, the university’s published fees, the CAPS steps and careers.

Safe target score for Psychology at Peaceland (my advice)

These bands are my own judgement, not a Peaceland rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Psychology at Peaceland
Below 150Not eligible for any Peaceland degree in that session
150 to 164Eligible. Strong O’level grades and an early application matter most
165 to 189A good position for a private university Psychology place
190 and aboveStrong. It also lets you keep ESUT (160 minimum) or UNN (160 to screen) as a public backup

Psychology has become a popular choice in the South East, and Peaceland’s intake is capped by its NUC quota. I would aim for 165 or more in the 2027 UTME, with credits in English, Mathematics and Biology.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Psychology

RequirementPsychology at Peaceland
UTME subjects (JAMB general rule)Use of English and any three Arts or Social Science subjects
O’level (JAMB general rule)Five credits including Government or History, English Language and three other subjects, with at least a pass in Mathematics
O’level (Peaceland’s own rule)Five credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus subjects relevant to the course
Direct EntryTwo A level passes including Government or History (JAMB general rule)
Peaceland remark in the JAMB brochureNone

Why I would still sit Biology

JAMB’s general line for Psychology lets you take any three Arts or Social Science subjects, and Peaceland has no remark of its own. But the remarks for other universities show where the course is heading: UNN, ESUT, OAU, Renaissance, EKSU and UNIUYO all ask for Biology in the UTME, and several (including GOUNI, UNN and ESUT) want Biology in the O’level. Psychology is partly a biological science, with physiological psychology and statistics in the core.

My recommended combination is Use of English, Biology, Economics and Government. It meets Peaceland’s general rule, keeps every Enugu backup open, and also qualifies you for Criminology and Political Science. Revise with our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Economics syllabus.

For O’level, plan for credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Government (or History) and one more subject such as Economics. Peaceland’s FAQ asks for a Mathematics credit, which is stricter than JAMB’s pass.

How Peaceland admits Psychology candidates

Peaceland’s only publicly announced screening test was on 18 September 2024 and covered six health courses (Myschool, 31 August 2024). There is no published test, aggregate or screening date for Psychology. According to the university’s FAQ, you apply on the e-Admission portal and upload your documents; the university checks your UTME score, subjects and O’level and then recommends qualified candidates on CAPS.

Documents Peaceland asks for

  • O’level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB)
  • JAMB result slip
  • Birth certificate
  • Passport photograph
  • Local government identification letter
  • NIN slip
  • Direct Entry certificate, where it applies

Worked example (illustration only)

Peaceland has no published aggregate, so I measure each candidate against the 150 minimum and my 165 target. This is not Peaceland’s method.

  1. Nkechi, 174: 174 minus 150 = 24 above the minimum, 9 above my target. English, Biology, Economics and Government; credits in all five core O’level subjects at one sitting. Good position.
  2. Somto, 153: 153 minus 150 = 3 above the minimum, 12 below my target. Eligible. He should apply early and make sure his O’level is on CAPS.
  3. Daniel, 168 with no Mathematics credit: the score is fine, but Peaceland asks for a Mathematics credit, so he cannot be admitted until he has one.

Your admission odds and what helps

At Peaceland’s second matriculation, the pro-chancellor, Felix Ugwuozor, said the university had admitted over 600 students and would have taken more, but the NUC quota for each faculty held it back (TheCable). Places are capped, so scoring 150 makes you eligible without guaranteeing a seat.

  • Apply early: private universities often fill their quota in batches, and later batches have fewer places.
  • Clean O’level: Peaceland asks for five credits including English Language and Mathematics. A missing credit stops you whatever your UTME score.
  • Results on CAPS: many candidates lose offers because their O’level is not uploaded.
  • Respond fast: accept on CAPS and pay acceptance within the time given, or the place can go to someone else.

Fees for Psychology at Peaceland

Psychology falls under the single fee line Peaceland publishes for all Arts, Management and Social Sciences departments. The page does not say which session it covers, so confirm on the portal.

LevelTuitionOther feesAccreditationTotal
100 level₦70,000₦200,000₦50,000₦320,000
200 level₦145,000₦145,000₦100,000₦390,000
300 level₦145,000₦145,000₦100,000₦390,000

The admission form and acceptance fee are ₦10,000 each for this faculty. Tuition can be split 60% and 40%, while other fees and accreditation are paid with the first instalment. No hostel charge is listed for this faculty, although the FAQ says on-campus hostels exist.

How to apply for Psychology at Peaceland, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with the profile code you take to the CBT centre.
  2. Register the UTME correctly: choose Peaceland University (not Peaceland College of Education) and the course Psychology, and sit Use of English and three Arts or Social Science subjects (I recommend Biology, Economics and Government). Make Peaceland your first choice. If you chose another school, Peaceland says you can still apply, but you may need a JAMB change of institution before it can offer you a place.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB-accredited centre and upload every sitting you want counted. If you are awaiting WAEC or NECO, upload as soon as the result is out. The university cannot recommend you on CAPS without it.
  4. Apply on Peaceland’s portal: go to apply.peacelanduni.edu.ng, create an account, enter your JAMB number and score, upload your documents, choose Psychology and pay the admission form fee (₦10,000 on the university’s fee schedule). Print your slip.
  5. Watch for screening: Peaceland has published no written test for this course, so check the portal and your email for any interview or document check, and keep your originals ready.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer only when it shows the right course at Peaceland University. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and fees, then clear: the fee schedule lists acceptance at ₦10,000. Pay only through the official portal or the Admissions Office, then bring your O’level, JAMB result slip, birth certificate, NIN slip, local government letter and passport photographs for clearance.

Warning

Peaceland University says it does not authorise unofficial admission agents. Every genuine offer shows on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB treats admissions done outside CAPS as illegal. Ignore anyone selling “slots”, and pay only through the university portal or its Admissions Office.

JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities (News Agency of Nigeria, 11 May 2026), so Peaceland’s 2026/2027 offers have to be on CAPS by that date. If you are planning for 2027, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and how to check your JAMB result and what to do with the score.

Studying Psychology at Peaceland University

Peaceland University is a private university in Independence Layout, Enugu. It grew out of Peaceland College of Education, which still runs as a separate institution, and began admitting degree students in 2023/2024. Its website lists five teaching faculties for 2026/2027 (Allied Health Sciences, Law, Science and Computing, Education, and Arts, Management and Social Sciences), and its news page carries a 15 September 2026 headline announcing full operational licence approval.

What you study

Peaceland has not published its course outline. Under NUC’s benchmark, a Nigerian B.Sc. Psychology normally covers introductory and developmental psychology, social psychology, physiological (biological) psychology, learning and cognition, personality, abnormal psychology, psychological testing, statistics and experimental methods, then industrial, clinical and counselling options in the later years, ending with a research project.

Duration and accreditation

  • Duration: four years is the usual length for UTME entrants; Peaceland has not stated it on a page I could read.
  • NUC accreditation: not confirmed. Psychology was not in the group of programmes Peaceland announced as fully accredited after NUC’s October/November 2025 exercise, and I found no NUC report page naming Peaceland for it. Ask the department about its status in writing before you accept.
  • Professional route: the Nigerian Psychological Association is the main professional body. Clinical work usually needs a postgraduate degree after the B.Sc.

Where it leads

  • Human resources, recruitment and staff training
  • Counselling support roles in schools, NGOs and hospitals
  • Market and consumer research
  • Social work and community programmes
  • Postgraduate study in clinical, industrial or counselling psychology

For a public backup in Enugu, see the ESUT Psychology cut-off mark and the UNN Psychology cut-off mark.

Mistakes Psychology applicants make

  • Dropping Biology: allowed for Peaceland, but it can block a backup at UNN or ESUT.
  • Confusing Psychology with Guidance and Counselling: the second is an Education degree for school counsellors, with a different JAMB course name.
  • Registering Peaceland College of Education: it is a separate institution that now admits only NCE students.
  • A Mathematics pass instead of a credit: Peaceland asks for a credit.
  • Paying before CAPS: accept the offer on CAPS first, then pay through the portal.

If you need to switch your course on JAMB, see our JAMB change of course guide.

Peaceland University Psychology cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Is Biology compulsory for Psychology in Peaceland University? JAMB’s brochure has no Peaceland remark, so the general rule (any three Arts or Social Science subjects) applies. I still advise taking Biology, because many universities you may use as a backup require it.

Can I study Psychology at Peaceland with 155? Yes, 155 is above the 150 minimum and Peaceland has published no higher figure. Make sure your O’level has credits in English and Mathematics and apply early.

Is Psychology in Peaceland University accredited? I could not confirm it. Psychology was not on the list of programmes Peaceland announced as fully accredited after NUC’s 2025 visit, so ask the department for its current NUC status in writing.

What is the school fees for Psychology in Peaceland University? The university’s schedule lists ₦320,000 at 100 level and ₦390,000 at 200 and 300 level for Arts, Management and Social Sciences departments, plus a ₦10,000 form and ₦10,000 acceptance fee. The page does not state the session.
