Law is not on Peaceland University’s JAMB course list. When I checked Myschool’s reprint of that list on 30 October 2026, it had 30 courses and Law was not one of them. Yet the Council of Legal Education (CLE) does list “Peaceland University, Enugu, Enugu State” among the universities approved to admit LL.B. students as at August 2026. So the council has approved Peaceland for Law, but you cannot yet pick Law at Peaceland on a JAMB form as the list stands. If Law is added, the only official minimum would be JAMB’s 150 for universities, because Peaceland has not published a Law cut-off.
2027/2028 update: Peaceland University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
If you want Law in 2027/2028, do two things. First, check the course dropdown for Peaceland University on JAMB’s own registration portal; if Law shows there, the reprint has simply not caught up. Second, keep a university where Law is already on JAMB’s list as a real option, such as ESUT, UNN or Renaissance University. The rest of this page covers the CLE position, the cut-off, subjects, screening and the CAPS steps.

Why Law is missing from Peaceland’s JAMB list, and what that means for you
The CLE list and the JAMB course list are two separate records. The CLE list says the council allows Peaceland to admit students into the LL.B. programme. The JAMB list says which courses a candidate can choose under Peaceland when registering for the UTME or Direct Entry. Admission into any Nigerian university now runs through JAMB’s CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal, so a course has to be available under the institution on JAMB before you can be offered it.
Myschool reprints JAMB’s lists and can lag behind JAMB’s live e-brochure. Peaceland’s own website lists the LL.B. and its fee schedule has a Faculty of Law line, but it does not say whether Law is open through JAMB for 2026/2027, and the summary of its 2026/2027 advert that I read listed only Allied Health and Science and Computing programmes. That leaves three plain possibilities: JAMB has added Law and the reprint is behind; Law will be added for a later session; or Peaceland is not yet admitting into Law. Only JAMB’s portal and a written reply from Peaceland can settle it.
- If Law shows under Peaceland on the JAMB portal: register it as your course, with the right subjects, and follow the steps below.
- If it does not: do not pay anyone who promises Peaceland Law admission outside JAMB. Choose a university where Law is listed, or a Peaceland course that is on its list.
- If someone offers to move you into Law after admission: ask Peaceland to put that in writing first. A change of course also has to be done through JAMB.
The CLE approval in detail
The Council of Legal Education’s public notice, “List of updated universities approved by the Council of Legal Education to admit students into the LL.B programme in Nigeria as at August 2026”, is dated 14 August 2026 and signed by Aderonke O. Osho, Secretary to the Council. Peaceland appears at serial 84 as “Peaceland University, Enugu, Enugu State”, with no moratorium remark. The only moratorium remarks on that list are for Baze University, Lead City University and the Nigeria Police Academy. You can read the notice in the copy published by TheNigeriaLawyer.
CLE approval matters because only graduates of approved faculties can go to the Nigerian Law School and be called to the Bar. The notice does not state how many students each university may admit. Ask Peaceland for its CLE quota, because a small quota means few places however many candidates qualify.

Peaceland Law cut-off history and safe target score
| Session | Figure | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities. No Peaceland Law figure |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities (July 2025). No Peaceland figure found |
Peaceland was founded in 2023 from Peaceland College of Education, Enugu, which still runs as a separate college. It has no published history of Law cut-offs. The table below is my advice for the day Law is open to you at Peaceland. It is not a Peaceland rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Law at Peaceland |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any university degree |
| 150 to 179 | Eligible on paper, but weak for Law, which is usually the most competitive course in a faculty of arts and social sciences |
| 180 to 199 | Reasonable if your O’level grades are strong |
| 200 to 239 | Strong for a new private university |
| 240 and above | Very strong. You would also meet ESUT’s 240 minimum for Law |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 200 or more. Law places at any university are limited by the CLE quota, and Law candidates generally score higher than candidates for other arts courses.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Law
Since Law is not on Peaceland’s JAMB list, there is no Peaceland remark to follow. The general Law entry in the JAMB brochure, as reproduced on Myschool, says:
| Requirement | General Law entry (JAMB brochure) |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Literature in English and any two other Arts or Social Science subjects |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language and Literature in English, plus three other Arts or Social Science subjects |
| Mathematics | Not named in the general line, but many law faculties ask for it. Get a credit to be safe |
| Direct Entry | Two A-level (GCE or IJMB) passes in Arts or Social Science subjects, or a first degree with at least Second Class Lower from an accredited university |
A typical strong UTME set is English, Literature in English, Government and CRS or Economics. Do not drop Literature in English; it is the one subject the Law line names. Physics, Chemistry or Biology do not count toward the two Arts or Social Science subjects.
How Peaceland would screen Law applicants
Peaceland has not published a Post-UTME test, screening date or aggregate formula for 2026/2027 in any source I reached. New private universities usually check UTME scores and O’level results online and sometimes add a short test or interview. Law faculties often interview candidates as well.
Worked example for a Law candidate (illustration only)
Peaceland has not published a screening formula. Many Nigerian universities combine the UTME score with O’level grades, so here is one common method, used only to show how your numbers could add up. It is not Peaceland’s rule.
- UTME part: UTME score divided by 8, out of 50.
- O’level part: five relevant subjects scored A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5, out of 50.
Adaeze scored 214 in the UTME and has A1 in English, B2 in Literature in English, B3 in Government, B3 in CRS and C4 in Economics from one sitting.
- UTME part: 214 ÷ 8 = 26.75.
- O’level part: 42 out of 50.
- Illustrative total: 26.75 + 42 = 68.75 out of 100.
- Against the minimum: 214 minus 150 = 64. Adaeze clears JAMB’s line by 64 marks.
If Peaceland sets a test or an interview, that score would change the picture. What does not change is that the O’level carries real weight under most methods, so a C6 in Mathematics or Physics hurts more than a few UTME marks.
How to apply for Law at Peaceland, step by step
- Check the JAMB course list first: on JAMB’s registration portal, select Peaceland University and see whether Law appears. If it does not, choose another university for Law.
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Register with the right subjects: Use of English, Literature in English and two Arts or Social Science subjects.
- Fix your choice if needed: a JAMB change of institution or change of course must be done on JAMB, not at the university.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. No university can recommend you without it.
- Apply on Peaceland’s portal: the 2026/2027 advert pointed to apply.peacelanduni.edu.ng. The university’s fee schedule lists the admission form at ₦20,000; follow the instructions shown there.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and fees only through official channels: Peaceland’s fee schedule lists acceptance at ₦20,000 and ₦1,200,000 for 100 level in the Faculty of Law, with tuition payable 60% and then 40%.
Warning
Adverts that sell Peaceland University forms or “admission slots” through private phone numbers and agents circulate online. JAMB says any admission outside CAPS is illegal, so a genuine Peaceland offer will show on your CAPS page. Apply only through the university’s own portal and pay only into accounts the university confirms in writing.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). That date applies to Peaceland for this cycle.
Studying Law and becoming a lawyer
In Nigeria the LL.B. normally takes five years for UTME entrants. After graduating from a CLE-approved faculty, you attend the Nigerian Law School for the Bar Part II course, pass the Bar Final examination and are called to the Bar. Peaceland has not published its Law curriculum or department list, but NUC’s minimum standards cover subjects such as the Nigerian legal system, constitutional law, contract, criminal law, torts, land law, commercial law, equity and trusts, evidence and jurisprudence.
- Careers: legal practice, corporate and in-house counsel, the judiciary, public service, banking and compliance, and academic law.
- Accreditation: CLE approval is confirmed (August 2026). Law is not among the 17 programmes Peaceland announced as fully accredited after NUC’s 2025 exercise, and no NUC report naming Peaceland University for Law was found; the NUC reports under the Peaceland name belong to Peaceland College of Education.
Peaceland courses that are on its JAMB list
If you want Peaceland itself and Law is not available, these arts and social science courses are on its JAMB list:
- Peaceland Criminology and Security Studies
- Peaceland International Relations and Diplomacy
- Peaceland Political Science
- Peaceland English Language and Linguistics
A degree in one of these does not lead to the Bar. Only an LL.B. from a CLE-approved faculty does, so do not take one of them hoping to switch into Law later without written confirmation from Peaceland and a JAMB change of course.
Mistakes Law applicants make with new universities
- Assuming CLE approval puts Law on JAMB: check the JAMB portal for the course under Peaceland.
- Dropping Literature in English: it is the subject the Law line names.
- Paying for “Law admission” outside CAPS: JAMB treats it as illegal.
- Ignoring the CLE list: always check that your university is on the latest one, without a moratorium.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping: acceptance fee and clearance are separate steps.
