There is no UTME cut-off mark for Home Economics (NCE) at Peaceland College of Education, Enugu for 2027/2028 candidates who hold at least four O’level credits. The national admission policy of 11 May 2026 exempts four-credit NCE candidates from the UTME, but JAMB registration and admission through CAPS are still required. Peaceland has not published a separate cut-off for Home Economics.
2027/2028 update: Peaceland College of Education admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the rules on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official position (the 2026/2027 national admission policy and JAMB’s June 2026 NCE registration guide) and the college’s 2026/2027 admission notice as reprinted online. If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.
JAMB lists the course for Peaceland as Home Economics (Double Major), so you study the subject alone for the whole NCE: food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, and home management, with the methods for teaching them. This guide covers the cut-off position, the O’level subjects that count, JAMB’s NCE costs, two worked examples, the steps to apply and the routes after the NCE.

Peaceland College of Education Home Economics cut-off mark history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2027/2028 | No UTME score needed for NCE | Planning position carried over from 2026/2027 | Holds unless JAMB changes the policy |
| 2026/2027 | No UTME score needed | Four-credit NCE candidates register with JAMB and are admitted on CAPS without sitting the UTME | Official national policy and JAMB’s June 2026 guide |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum UTME score for colleges of education | Official national figure (JAMB, July 2025) |
| 2024/2025 | 140 and above | What Peaceland’s advert asked of UTME candidates when it still sold degree forms; not a Home Economics figure | College advert reprinted by Myschool, 31 July 2024 |
JAMB did not announce a numeric minimum for colleges of education in 2026, and the 150 figure that some sites quote for Peaceland is the university minimum. On timing, Nairametrics (11 May 2026) said the exemption begins with the 2027 admission cycle, while JAMB’s June 2026 NCE registration guide and Legit (23 July 2026) show it already applied in 2026. For 2027/2028 the answer is the same either way: no UTME for NCE if you have four or more credits.
Peaceland Home Economics admission requirements
Peaceland has not published its own O’level list for 2026/2027; the requirements part of its reprinted notice is cut off. This table combines the national rule, the usual college of education pattern and JAMB’s brochure entry for the subject, which is written for degree admission.
| Requirement | What applies | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Number of credits | At least four | National policy, 11 May 2026 |
| English Language and Mathematics | Expected at credit level | Usual college of education pattern; Peaceland wording not published |
| Relevant credits | A home subject (Food and Nutrition, Home Management, or Clothing and Textiles) and Biology or Chemistry | JAMB brochure entry for Home Economics and Education |
| Sittings | Not more than two | Usual pattern |
| JAMB brochure O’level (degree level) | Five credits including English, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology and Chemistry (O’level, NTC/NBC or TC II merit) | Same brochure entry |
| UTME for NCE | Not needed with four credits; JAMB registration still needed | National policy and JAMB guide |
UNN’s remark in the same entry is more flexible: five credits including any two from a list that covers Home Management, Clothing and Textiles and Food and Nutrition alongside the sciences. UNIBEN accepts a pass in Chemistry with a credit in Biology or Agricultural Science. Those are degree rules, but they show which subjects carry weight.
Which O’level profile is strongest?
| Your O’level profile | My read for NCE Home Economics at Peaceland |
|---|---|
| No credit in English or Mathematics | Not ready. Resit first |
| English, Mathematics and two arts subjects | Meets the count; relevance in doubt |
| English, Mathematics, Biology and one home subject | Acceptable |
| English, Mathematics, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles (or Home Management) and Biology or Chemistry | The profile I would aim for |
This ranking is my advice built on the JAMB brochure, not a Peaceland rule. A science credit alongside the home subjects keeps the degree route open, since every university rule in the entry asks for Biology or Chemistry.
If you are also sitting the UTME
If you also sit the UTME for a Home Economics degree, the brochure’s main combination is Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and one other subject; UNN asks for Chemistry or Biology plus any two other science or social science subjects. There is no Direct Entry into Peaceland: from 2026/2027 JAMB bars colleges of education from admitting into 100 or 200 level of any degree, so every entrant starts at NCE. Once the college recommends you for NCE, JAMB suspends any UTME or Direct Entry process you have running.
JAMB NCE registration costs and rules
| JAMB NCE item (2026) | What the guide says |
|---|---|
| O’level verification code | ₦1,500 for one sitting; ₦2,000 for two sittings |
| NCE application | ₦3,500 |
| CBT centre charge | ₦700 |
| Who puts you forward | The college proposes candidates on CAPS and the Provost recommends them |
| O’level result | Must be on CAPS; awaiting-result candidates cannot be proposed until they upload |
| 2026 UTME candidates with a college of education as first choice | Migrated to NCE for a ₦700 charge |
| Effect of an NCE recommendation | Any UTME or Direct Entry process is suspended |
| 2026 NCE registration opened | 23 July 2026 (Nairametrics) |
These are 2026 amounts and may change for 2027. Peaceland’s own form fee, acceptance fee and tuition were not in its notice as reprinted, so get them from the college bursary.
Peaceland screening for Home Economics
Peaceland opened its 2026/2027 admission portal in July 2026 (reported by Myschool on 18 July and AbsTechConnect on 21 July), but neither report gives a screening date, test, form price or portal address. No practical test for Home Economics has been announced. Under JAMB’s NCE flow, the college checks the O’level on your JAMB profile, proposes you on CAPS, and the Provost recommends you.
Worked example (illustrative)
Chinenye (an invented candidate) has WAEC in one sitting: English C6, Mathematics C5, Food and Nutrition B2, Biology C4, Clothing and Textiles C6, Civic Education B3.
- Credit count: six. Pass.
- English and Mathematics: both at credit. Pass.
- Relevant subjects: Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles and Biology. Strong.
- Degree-level check: five or more credits with two subjects from UNN’s list. Pass.
- Cost to JAMB: ₦1,500 for the verification code, ₦3,500 for the NCE application and ₦700 at the centre, on 2026 figures.
Ogechi (also invented) has two sittings: English and Mathematics in the first, then Economics, Government and Literature in the second. She has five credits but nothing in a home or science subject. I would advise a NECO or GCE resit in Food and Nutrition or Biology, or a Peaceland pairing that suits her arts and social science credits, such as Economics/Social Studies.
How to apply for Home Economics at Peaceland College of Education
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Buy the O’level verification code: ₦1,500 for one sitting or ₦2,000 for two (2026 figures).
- Register with JAMB for NCE: choose Peace Land College of Education and Home Economics (Double Major). If you registered for another school, use a JAMB change of institution.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: the college cannot propose you until the result shows on your profile.
- Complete the college’s form: use only the portal or admission office named in Peaceland’s own notice, and pay only through an official invoice.
- Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB allowed four weeks to accept in 2026/2027. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows each screen.
- Pay acceptance and register: confirm the acceptance fee with the college before you pay.
Warning
JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal. Nobody can sell you a Home Economics “slot” at Peaceland or a place straight into a degree. Confirm the course is admitting before you pay.
Your chances and common mistakes
Peaceland has not published how many Home Economics places it fills, so there are no real odds to quote. With no UTME score involved, a file usually stalls for practical reasons, and these are the ones I would check:
- Applying with no home or science subject: the course is practical and science based, so a credit in Food and Nutrition, Biology or Chemistry makes your file much stronger.
- O’level not on CAPS: the college cannot propose you without it. Upload as soon as your result is out.
- Names that do not match: your NIN, JAMB profile and O’level certificate should carry the same name.
- Missing the CAPS window: the 2026/2027 window for colleges of education runs until 31 December 2026, and each offer must be accepted within the time JAMB sets.

Peaceland Home Economics: frequently asked questions
