Peaceland College of Education Cut-Off Mark for NCE Programmes 2027/2028: Requirements, Subject Combination and Screening

Peaceland College of Education, Enugu needs no UTME score for NCE if you have four O’level credits, but JAMB registration and CAPS still apply. See all 32 courses, the O’level rules, JAMB NCE costs and why the degree route ended.

Peaceland College of Education, Enugu has no UTME cut-off mark for its NCE programmes in 2027/2028 if you hold at least four O’level credits. Under the national admission policy of 11 May 2026, NCE candidates with four credits are exempt from the UTME, but they must still register with JAMB and be admitted through CAPS. The college itself has not published a cut-off for any of its NCE courses.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland College of Education admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the rules on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official position (the 2026/2027 national admission policy and JAMB’s June 2026 NCE registration guide) and the college’s 2026/2027 admission notice as reprinted online. If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.

Peaceland is a private college of education in Enugu, and it is a different institution from Peaceland University, Enugu. This guide covers the cut-off position, all 32 NCE courses JAMB lists for the college, the O’level rules, what JAMB charges for NCE registration, the wrong figures you will see on some websites, the steps to apply and what changed about the college’s degree programme.

2024/2025140 and aboveWhat the college’s advert asked of UTME candidates when it still sold degree, NCE and PDE formsCollege advert as reprinted by Myschool, 31 July 2024

The 140 figure belongs to a year when Peaceland was still admitting degree students, and it no longer applies to NCE. JAMB announced no numeric minimum for colleges of education in 2026. Sources also differ on timing: Nairametrics (11 May 2026) said the exemption starts with the 2027 admission cycle, while JAMB’s June 2026 NCE registration guide and Legit (23 July 2026) show it already applied in 2026. For a 2027/2028 candidate both readings lead to the same place: no UTME for NCE with four or more credits.

Wrong figures you may see online

One widely shared 2026/2027 “Peaceland COE post-UTME” article (Schoolings.org, June 2026) says NCE applicants need a JAMB score of 150. That is the university minimum, and it does not apply to NCE. The same article gives a closing date earlier than its opening date and lists courses, such as Guidance and Counselling, that are not on JAMB’s list for the college. Treat its form price, fee ranges and dates as unconfirmed.

Does Peaceland College of Education still offer degree programmes?

Not for new students entering through JAMB. The college’s 2024/2025 advert, reprinted by Myschool, sold forms for degree (regular and part-time), NCE and PDE, and invited UTME and Direct Entry candidates. Its 2026/2027 notice lists only NCE, PDE, PGDE and part-time programmes. That fits JAMB’s June 2026 guide, which says that from 2026/2027 no college of education may admit candidates into 100 or 200 level of a degree, affiliated degrees included, and that every entrant comes in through NCE.

PDE (Professional Diploma in Education) and PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) are teaching qualifications for people who already hold a diploma or degree. They do not go through JAMB, so this page does not cover them. If you want a bachelor’s degree, the route is NCE at Peaceland and then Direct Entry into a university, or the UTME straight into a university.

Do not confuse the two Peacelands. Peaceland University, Enugu is a private university with its own UTME cut-off and post-UTME screening. Peaceland College of Education is the NCE college this page is about. Check the institution name on JAMB before you pay for any form.

NCE courses at Peaceland College of Education

JAMB lists the college as “Peace Land College of Education”. The grouping below is mine, made to help you scan; the course names are as JAMB lists them.

GroupCourses on JAMB’s list
Vocational (single subject)Agricultural Science (Double Major); Business Education; Home Economics (Double Major)
SciencesBiology/Chemistry; Biology/Physics; Chemistry/Physics; Computer Education/Physics; Computer Education/Biology; Computer Education/Chemistry; Computer Education/Mathematics; Integrated Science/Mathematics Education; Geography/Chemistry; Geography/Integrated Science; Geography/Mathematics; Geography/Physics
Arts and social sciencesCRS/English; CRS/Igbo; CRS/Social Studies; Economics/Geography; Economics/Political Science; Economics/Social Studies; Geography/History; Igbo/Social Studies
LanguagesEnglish/French; English/Geography; English/Hausa; English/Igbo; English/Social Studies; French/Hausa; French/Igbo
Early childhood and primaryEarly Childhood Care Education; Primary Education Studies

A paired course such as Biology/Chemistry means you study two teaching subjects side by side. A double major means you study one subject for the whole NCE. Pick the exact name from JAMB’s list when you register, because a course you write in by hand will not match the college’s CAPS list.

Peaceland College of Education admission requirements

Peaceland has not published its own O’level rule for 2026/2027; the requirements section of its reprinted notice is cut off. The table below gives the national rule and the pattern colleges of education normally use.

RequirementWhat appliesSource
Number of creditsAt least fourNational policy, 11 May 2026
English Language and MathematicsExpected at credit levelUsual college of education pattern; Peaceland wording not published
Relevant subjectsCredits in the subjects you will teachUsual pattern
SittingsNot more than twoUsual pattern
UTMENot needed with four credits; JAMB registration still neededNational policy and JAMB guide
Minimum age for tertiary admission162026 policy meeting

Relevant O’level subjects by course group

Course groupCredits I would make sure you have, besides English and Mathematics
Agricultural Science (DM)Agricultural Science or Biology, and Chemistry
Business EducationEconomics, plus Commerce, Financial Accounting or Office Practice if you have them
Home Economics (DM)Food and Nutrition, Home Management or Clothing and Textiles, plus Biology or Chemistry
Science pairsBoth subjects of the pair (for example Biology and Chemistry for Biology/Chemistry)
Computer Education pairsThe paired science, plus Physics or another science
Arts, social science and language pairsBoth subjects of the pair; for French, Hausa or Igbo, a credit in that language helps
Early Childhood and Primary EducationA spread of arts, science and social science credits

This table is my advice drawn from JAMB’s degree-level brochure entries for the same subjects, not a Peaceland rule. Matching your credits to both halves of a paired course is the safest way to avoid being turned down for relevance.

Peaceland College of Education screening

The college opened its 2026/2027 admission portal in July 2026 (Myschool reported it on 18 July and AbsTechConnect on 21 July), but neither reprint gives a screening date, test, form price or portal address. Under JAMB’s NCE flow, the college checks the O’level on your JAMB profile, proposes you on CAPS, and the Provost recommends you. If Peaceland adds an interview or test, it will say so in its own notice.

Worked example (illustrative)

Ebuka (an invented candidate) wants Economics/Political Science. His NECO, one sitting: English C6, Mathematics C5, Economics B3, Government C4, Civic Education B2, Biology D7.

  1. Credit count: five. Pass.
  2. English and Mathematics: both at credit. Pass.
  3. Relevance: Economics covers one half of the pair; Government is the school subject closest to Political Science. Strong.
  4. UTME: not needed for NCE.
  5. Cost to JAMB: ₦1,500 for the verification code, ₦3,500 for the NCE application and ₦700 at the centre, on 2026 figures.

If Ebuka had applied for Biology/Chemistry with the same result, I would steer him away: he has no science credit at all.

How to apply to Peaceland College of Education

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Buy the O’level verification code: ₦1,500 for one sitting or ₦2,000 for two (2026 figures).
  3. Register with JAMB for NCE: choose Peace Land College of Education and your course exactly as JAMB names it. If you are registered for another school, use a JAMB change of institution.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: the college cannot propose you until the result shows on your profile.
  5. Complete the college’s form: use only the portal or office the college names in its own notice, and pay only through an official invoice.
  6. Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB allowed four weeks to accept in 2026/2027. Our JAMB CAPS guide walks through it.
  7. Pay acceptance and register: confirm the acceptance fee with the college bursary before paying.

Warning

JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal, and colleges of education may no longer admit straight into a degree. Ignore “no JAMB” offers and anyone selling a Peaceland degree slot.

Your chances at Peaceland

Peaceland has not published how many candidates it admits per course. As a private college with no UTME score in play, your admission depends mostly on a complete JAMB record and an O’level that fits the course. These are the points I would check before registering:

  • Course fit: pick a pair where you have credits in both subjects.
  • Early upload: put your O’level on CAPS as soon as the result is out.
  • Matching names: your name should read the same on NIN, JAMB and your O’level certificate.
  • Your degree plans: an NCE recommendation suspends any UTME process, so decide first whether you want NCE or a university place this year.

About Peaceland College of Education

The NCCE accredited colleges list shows “Peaceland College of Education, Enugu” as an open private college of education (checked 29 October 2026). Its 2026/2027 notice describes its courses as fully accredited without naming the body; NCCE accreditation of individual courses is not confirmed. The notice offers full-time and part-time study, and the NCE normally takes three years full time.

An NCE qualifies you to teach in primary and junior secondary schools after TRCN registration. It also counts as a Direct Entry qualification at many Nigerian universities when you pass at merit level or above, which is now the main way a Peaceland student moves on to a degree.
