The OSISATECH cut-off mark for Public Administration is 100, JAMB’s minimum UTME score for polytechnics in 2026/2027. Our Saviour Institute of Science and Technology has not published a departmental figure, though its FAQ says candidates scoring 140 and above are likely to be admitted, with the number reviewed yearly.
2027/2028 update: OSISATECH cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Public Administration is on JAMB’s OSISATECH list (twice, under Administration and under Social and Management Sciences), and it is one of the few courses where the JAMB brochure names OSISATECH directly. The bigger issue for most candidates is the UTME combination, which is fixed at Government, History and Economics. This page covers that rule, the scores, the admission process and fees.

Public Administration cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (JAMB policy meeting, reported by NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (2025 policy meeting, reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Not dated (FAQ last updated October 2021) | 140 | Score OSISATECH says makes admission “likely” | OSISATECH FAQ page; reviewed yearly |
| Any year | None | Departmental cut-off for this course | Never published by OSISATECH |
Public Administration is popular with candidates aiming for the civil service, and at a private polytechnic the subject rule turns away more applicants than the score does. OSISATECH has published no applicant numbers, so the 140 guide is the best figure to plan with.
Safe target score for Public Administration at OSISATECH (my advice)
The table is my advice. OSISATECH has not published one.
| Your UTME score | My read for Public Administration at OSISATECH |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for full-time ND at any polytechnic |
| 100 to 139 | Eligible under JAMB rules, below the score the school calls likely; possible, but don’t count on it |
| 140 to 159 | At or above OSISATECH’s own “likely” line |
| 160 and above | Comfortable. This is the range I would aim for |
I would aim for 160 in the 2027 UTME. That covers OSISATECH comfortably and keeps you competitive for public polytechnics in Enugu.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Public Administration at OSISATECH
| Requirement | What JAMB’s brochure says |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English (compulsory) + Government, History and Economics |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language (not Literature in English), Mathematics, and any three of Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| OSISATECH remark | OSISATECH, with KADPOLY, IMTE and WOLEX, requires credit passes in English Language and Mathematics |
| Sittings | Not more than two (OSISATECH admission page) |
| Direct Entry | No general DE rule on the brochure; OSISATECH mentions year-two entry for NCE or ND holders |
What the OSISATECH remark means
Several polytechnics on the Public Administration page accept a pass in Mathematics (Plateau, Akanu Ibiam, Fidei and others). OSISATECH is grouped with the schools that insist on a credit in both English Language and Mathematics. A D7 in Mathematics rules you out here even if your UTME score is high.
The History problem
The general UTME line is Government, History and Economics, with no alternatives for OSISATECH. Many secondary schools in the South East do not offer History, so candidates register Literature, CRS or Commerce instead. Some polytechnics have remarks that accept those (IMT Enugu, for one, uses Literature, CRS and Principles of Accounts or Commerce), but OSISATECH has no UTME remark. If you cannot write History, ask OSISATECH’s admission office in writing whether it will recommend you with your combination before you buy the form, or consider Business Administration or Office Technology and Management, which accept Government without History.
History is a UTME subject you can register even without an O’level in it. JAMB’s History syllabus is the place to start if you choose that route.
How OSISATECH admits Public Administration candidates
There is no Post-UTME exam, according to the school’s FAQ. You present your UTME result and O’level to the admission officer at the Ogui Road campus and buy the form at Ohha Microfinance Bank. OSISATECH then recommends successful candidates on JAMB CAPS.
Worked example (illustrative)
Obinna scored 164 in English, Government, Literature in English and CRS. His NECO result has credits in English Language, Mathematics, Government, Economics and Literature.
- Score: 164 is 64 above JAMB’s floor and 24 above OSISATECH’s guide.
- Subjects: only Government matches the brochure line. Literature and CRS are not in it, and OSISATECH has no remark accepting them.
- O’level: credits in English Language and Mathematics meet OSISATECH’s remark.
- My advice: his score is strong but his combination is the risk. He should confirm with the school before paying, and keep Business Administration or OTM at OSISATECH, or IMT Enugu’s Public Administration, as fallbacks.
Had Obinna written Government, History and Economics, he would be one of the stronger Public Administration applicants at OSISATECH. If his plans change after the exam, our JAMB change of course guide explains how to switch.
How to apply for Public Administration at OSISATECH, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick Public Administration with English, Government, History and Economics. JAMB lists the school as “Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agric. & Tech.”
- Write the UTME and clear the minimum: 100 is the JAMB floor for polytechnics; aim well above it.
- Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre. A result that is not on CAPS cannot be used for your admission.
- Change institution if needed: if OSISATECH was not your choice at registration, do a JAMB change of institution first.
- Buy the OSISATECH form: the school’s FAQ says you take your credentials to the admission officer at the Ogui campus (#1 Ogui Road, Enugu) for validation, then pay at Ohha Microfinance Bank. Its fees page says admission is not currently done online.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay fees and register: pay at the bank named by the school, then complete registration. Returning students use the portal at osisatech.skool-board.com.
Warning
OSISATECH says its fees can only be paid at OHHA Microfinance Bank, #1 Ogui Road, Enugu. Do not pay anyone who offers to “process” your admission, and do not accept an admission letter that never shows up on JAMB CAPS. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal.
JAMB fixed 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics and monotechnics.
OSISATECH fees for Public Administration students
OSISATECH does not list Public Administration separately on its fees page. It charges the same amounts for every ND, NCE and HND student. The page carries no session label and was last modified on 19 March 2021, so treat these as the most recent official figures, which may have risen since.
| Fee item | Amount | How often |
|---|---|---|
| School fees and accommodation | ₦36,000 | Per semester |
| Portal/ICT fee | ₦3,000 | Per semester |
| Utility fee | ₦3,000 | Per semester |
| Admission form | ₦10,000 | First year only |
| Matriculation fee | ₦10,000 | First year only |
| Medical insurance | ₦5,000 | First year only |
| Sports levy | ₦12,000 | First year only |
| Founder’s anniversary | ₦1,000 | First year only |
Adding those up (my arithmetic, not an OSISATECH total), a first-year ND student on the 2021 figures would pay ₦84,000 across two semesters plus ₦38,000 in one-off charges: about ₦122,000, with accommodation included in the semester fee. The school’s FAQ page (last updated October 2021) also says there is no acceptance fee. Ask the admission office for the current schedule before you pay anything, because 2021 prices are unlikely to have held.
Studying Public Administration at OSISATECH
The full-time ND lasts two years and includes SIWES. NBTE’s ND Public Administration curriculum (June 2021) also lists Government or History among the O’level entry credits, so having one of them helps. After the ND, a year of industrial training qualifies you to apply for HND. OSISATECH’s part-time ND does not require the UTME.
What you study
- Principles of public administration, Nigerian government and politics, and the constitution.
- Local government administration, public finance and budgeting.
- Personnel management, administrative law and public policy.
- Research methods, economics, computer applications and a final project.
Accreditation
NBTE approved OSISATECH to admit ND students in December 1991, according to the school’s About page, and NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists it as a private polytechnic (serial 101, P.M.B. 01161, Enugu). The programme-level accreditation status of Public Administration is not confirmed: the directory’s programme tables could not be read, and OSISATECH does not publish it. Before you pay, ask the admission office to show you the current NBTE accreditation for the course. It affects whether you can move on to HND and how employers treat the ND.
Careers
Graduates work as administrative officers in federal and state ministries, local government councils and parastatals, and in NGOs, political offices, schools and human resources departments of private firms. An HND opens higher entry points in the civil service.

Mistakes Public Administration applicants make
- Registering without History or Economics: the brochure line names Government, History and Economics.
- Relying on a Mathematics pass: OSISATECH is named among schools that need a credit.
- Assuming another school’s remark applies: IMT’s Literature and CRS remark is for IMT only.
- Paying before CAPS shows an offer: admission outside CAPS is not valid.
