The GOUNI Educational Management cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, the minimum Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, publishes for its Education courses in 2026/2027. Educational Management is on GOUNI’s 2026/2027 list of available programmes. There is a catch, though: JAMB’s course list for GOUNI has no entry called Educational Management, so you cannot simply pick it when you register.
2027/2028 update: GOUNI cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Check before you register
JAMB’s course list for Godfrey Okoye University does not include Educational Management. Before you register for the UTME or change your course, e-mail GOUNI admissions and ask which JAMB course you should choose to be admitted into Educational Management. Get the answer in writing and keep it. If GOUNI cannot name one, choose a listed GOUNI course or another university’s Educational Management programme instead.
I checked JAMB’s GOUNI list, as reprinted by Myschool on 30 October 2026, against GOUNI’s own programme list. GOUNI’s list has 13 Education programmes. Ten of them have a matching JAMB entry. Educational Management, Guidance and Counselling and Primary Education do not. GOUNI’s Faculty of Education page, last updated on 17 February 2026, also leaves Educational Management out of its 11 programmes. The course appears on the newer admission list, so GOUNI may well be admitting into it, but the JAMB side is unclear.
Below I explain what that means for you, which JAMB course names to look at, the subjects JAMB normally sets for Educational Management, and the alternatives at GOUNI and elsewhere in Enugu.

Why the missing JAMB entry matters
JAMB only processes an admission into a course that the university has on its JAMB list. When GOUNI offers you a place, the offer goes up on CAPS under a course code. If Educational Management has no code for GOUNI, the university has to place you under some other listed course, or JAMB has to add the course first.
There are a few possible explanations. JAMB may have added the course after Myschool’s reprint was last updated. GOUNI may admit Educational Management students under a related course code and move them internally. Or the course may be new and still waiting for JAMB listing. I could not confirm which applies, and GOUNI has not said. GOUNI’s written answer settles it; this page cannot.
Which JAMB course name to check
- Search for it first: on the JAMB e-facility or at your registration centre, select Godfrey Okoye University and look for “Educational Management” in the course list. If it is there now, register it.
- If it is missing, ask GOUNI: write to admissions@gouni.edu.ng, say you want Educational Management, and ask which JAMB course to register. Keep the reply.
- Closest listed GOUNI course: JAMB’s general Educational Management rule uses Economics and Mathematics, which is the base of Education and Economics. If GOUNI tells you to use a listed course, that is the one I would expect.
- Other listed options: Education and Political Science and Education and Social Studies are also on JAMB’s GOUNI list, and many Nigerian universities pair Educational Management with them.
I would not register Education and Economics on the hope that GOUNI will move you later. Only do it if GOUNI confirms that route in writing, or if you are happy to study Economics Education anyway.
Is 150 enough for Educational Management at GOUNI?
On paper, yes. GOUNI’s 2026/2027 minimum JAMB scores read: Medicine and Surgery 200, Nursing 180, Law 200, Architecture 150, Computer Science 150, Education 150, other programmes 150. Educational Management is an Education course, so 150 is the figure. No departmental merit cut-off has been published.

Because the JAMB listing is uncertain, I would aim for 160 or more in the 2027 UTME. That keeps ESUT Educational Management open as a backup. GOUNI is private, so there is no catchment or state quota.
UTME subjects and O’level for Educational Management
Since GOUNI has no JAMB entry for the course, there is no GOUNI-specific brochure line. The table shows JAMB’s general rule for Educational Management, which other universities use, alongside GOUNI’s own requirement.

Two warnings here. First, JAMB’s general rule accepts a pass in Mathematics, but GOUNI asks every applicant for a Mathematics credit, so a pass will not do at GOUNI. Second, if GOUNI tells you to register Education and Economics, that course’s own rule applies: Economics, Mathematics and one of Geography or Physics, History, Government and Literature in English in the UTME, with credits in English, Economics and Mathematics. Government is the safest third subject because it fits both rules.
How GOUNI admission works
GOUNI’s 2026/2027 admission page describes an online application followed by an e-mailed decision within three working days. It mentions no written Post-UTME test or interview for undergraduates.

Worked example
Adaeze scored 164 in English, Economics, Mathematics and Government, with credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government and CRS from one sitting. She wants Educational Management at GOUNI.
- Eligibility: 164 minus 150 = 14. She clears GOUNI’s minimum.
- Subjects: her UTME fits JAMB’s general Educational Management rule and the Education and Economics rule.
- The JAMB question: she e-mails GOUNI admissions, asks which JAMB course leads to Educational Management, and saves the reply.
- Backup: with 164 she also clears ESUT’s 160, so she keeps that in view until GOUNI answers.
Emeka scored 171 but has only a pass in Mathematics. JAMB’s general rule would accept him at some universities, but GOUNI wants a credit. I would steer him to a university whose Educational Management remark accepts a Mathematics pass, or to a WAEC or NECO resit.
How to apply to GOUNI for Educational Management
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Settle the course name first: check JAMB’s GOUNI list for Educational Management. If it is missing, register only the course GOUNI names in writing.
- Fix your choice if needed: GOUNI says candidates who did not choose it first must do a JAMB change of institution. Our change of institution guide explains how.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB-accredited centre and confirm every grade on your e-Facility profile.
- Fill GOUNI’s online form: open the Fill Admission Form page, choose Educational Management, and use an e-mail address you check daily.
- Form fee: free. Anyone who asks you to pay for this form is not GOUNI.
- Check the course on CAPS: when an offer arrives, log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and look at the course name on CAPS before you accept. If it is not what GOUNI promised, e-mail admissions before accepting. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay fees the right way: only through GOUNI’s official online platform. GOUNI says money paid into a personal account is at the payer’s own risk.
For the 2026/2027 cycle, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities, and GOUNI repeated that date in its news post of 12 May 2026. That window runs until 30 November 2026. JAMB has not announced the 2027/2028 dates yet; they normally come after the UTME, so 2027 candidates should watch for them then.
Alternatives to GOUNI Educational Management
If GOUNI cannot tell you which JAMB course to use, these are the options I would weigh.

Educational Management is also often taken later as a postgraduate diploma or master’s degree after a first degree in a teaching subject. If you mainly want a career in school leadership, a listed education course now and a postgraduate qualification later is a sensible route.
What Educational Management covers
Educational Management studies how schools and education systems are planned, run and financed. GOUNI has not published a course outline, award title or duration for it on the pages I read. In Nigeria, such degrees usually run four years for UTME entrants.
- Management and planning: school administration, educational planning, supervision of instruction and personnel management.
- Finance and law: economics and financing of education, and the law and policy that govern schools.
- Foundations: educational psychology, sociology and philosophy of education, curriculum studies, and measurement and evaluation.
- Practice and research: teaching practice or an administrative placement, then a final-year project.
Graduates work as teachers who move into headship, school bursars and registrars, officers in education ministries and boards, and administrators in private school groups. GOUNI’s staff pages list a lecturer in Educational Management, so the subject is taught there, but that does not settle the JAMB question.
Accreditation
GOUNI’s accreditation page says all its programmes have NUC accreditation, without naming courses or dates. I found no NUC result for Educational Management at GOUNI: NUC’s online results PDF cuts off before universities starting with G, and searches turned up no NUC report page for it. Treat its NUC status as not confirmed and ask GOUNI in the same e-mail as the JAMB question.
One more thing for anyone training to teach: an education degree on its own does not license you to teach in Nigeria. Graduates register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which also runs a Professional Qualifying Examination. Ask GOUNI’s Faculty of Education how it prepares final-year students for that step.
