The Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Quantity Surveying is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi has not published a separate cut-off for ND Quantity Surveying, and I found no departmental figure for earlier years either.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Mubi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Quantity Surveying has a requirement many candidates miss: the brochure asks for an O’level pass in Art or Technical Drawing. Clearing 100 only makes you eligible. This course is on JAMB’s course list for Fed Poly Mubi, but it was not in the visible part of the 2026/2027 notice reprint, which is cut off early in the engineering list. Confirm with the admissions office that it is admitting this session. This page covers the figures, a safe target score, the subjects, screening and the CAPS steps.
Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Quantity Surveying at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | 100 | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| Fed Poly Mubi departmental cut-off for Quantity Surveying | Not published | No official figure found for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 |
| Programme level | National Diploma (ND), full time | Entry through the UTME and JAMB CAPS |
| School | School of Environmental Technology (my inference) | The polytechnic’s homepage lists Environmental Technology among its disciplines; the school for this course is not confirmed |
| UTME subjects | Any three of Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agric | JAMB polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool |
| On the 2026/2027 advert? | Not in the visible part | Not among the courses visible in the cut-off 2026/2027 notice reprint; it is on JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic |
| Screening fee and dates | Not published officially | Check the polytechnic portal |
| Admission deadline set by JAMB | 31 December 2026 for polytechnics (2026/2027) | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
Do not mix this school up with the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAM). They are two separate federal institutions in the same town. The polytechnic awards the ND and HND and uses the 100 polytechnic minimum; the university awards degrees and follows the 150 university minimum. On your JAMB profile, Fed Poly Mubi is listed as Federal Polytechnic, Mubi (MUBIPOLY on the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s course list).
Fed Poly Mubi Quantity Surveying cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Fed Poly Mubi cut-off for Quantity Surveying specifically | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic minimum at 100 in both 2025 and 2026. Fed Poly Mubi may admit above that line for some courses, but it has not announced a figure for Quantity Surveying. If a website quotes an exact “Fed Poly Mubi Quantity Surveying cut-off” such as 140 or 160, ask where it came from.
Safe target score for Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Mubi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a Fed Poly Mubi rule, and the polytechnic has not published merit lists with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Mubi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible, but close to the floor |
| 120 to 149 | Reasonable |
| 150 to 179 | Good |
| 180 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 145, with credits in English, Mathematics and Physics and at least a pass in Technical Drawing or Fine Art.
Catchment and state of origin
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic in Adamawa State, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. It admits candidates from across Nigeria. I would not count on a state-of-origin advantage unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Mubi Quantity Surveying subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Quantity Surveying |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English and any three of Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agricultural Science |
| O’level | Five credits in Mathematics and Physics and any three of Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing/Fine Arts, Chemistry, Geography, Further Mathematics, Woodwork, Biology, Religious Knowledge, Metal Work. A credit in English Language is compulsory, and an O’level pass in Art or Technical Drawing is required. |
| Fed Poly Mubi remark in the brochure | None. Remarks on the page cover polytechnics such as IMTE, AKANUPOLY, YABATECH and OFFAPOLY. |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE are the usual ones; Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own list for this course |
| Sittings | Not stated by Fed Poly Mubi; two sittings is the common polytechnic limit |
| Interview or practical | None published |
The UTME line is any three of Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and Biology/Agricultural Science. Chemistry is not on it. Mathematics is not strictly required in the UTME, but I would include it with Physics and Economics, since both Mathematics and Physics are compulsory O’level credits.
The O’level rule has three fixed points: credits in Mathematics, Physics and English, and at least a pass in Art or Technical Drawing. If you never sat Technical Drawing or Fine Art, you do not meet the printed rule, so check before applying.
Direct Entry and the HND route
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Quantity Surveying admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and industrial attachment, you can apply for an HND. Quantity Surveying is not on the blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND courses I found, so ask the department where the ND leads, or plan to take the HND at another polytechnic.
For details of the HND form, see our Fed Poly Mubi HND admission requirements guide. The HND course list there comes from a blog, so check it on the portal.
How Fed Poly Mubi screening works
Fed Poly Mubi has not put its 2026/2027 screening details in any source I could reach. Its website at fpmubieportal.edu.ng has an Admission Portal link, and two reprints of the session’s notices exist, but neither gives a fee, a date or a test format. Here is what is known.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice | Announced; reprint lists programmes by school but is cut off in the engineering list | Myschool reprint, 8 August 2026 |
| Post-UTME form for ND full time | Released for 2026/2027 | AbsTechConnect, 12 August 2026 (blog) |
| Who can apply | The blog says candidates who did not choose the polytechnic can still apply | Unofficial; you would still need a change of institution before CAPS can admit you |
| Minimum UTME score | 100 | JAMB rule |
| Screening fee | Not published | Unknown |
| Screening date and format | Not published | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
Because the polytechnic has not said how it ranks applicants, the safest plan is a UTME score well above 100 and a clean O’level record on CAPS.
Worked example for an ND Quantity Surveying applicant
Fed Poly Mubi has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring the gap between your score, the 100 minimum and a safe target. Take Samson, who scored 144.
- Eligibility: 144 minus 100 = 44. Samson is above JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics.
- Against my safe target: Samson is 1 points below my 145 target, so a strong screening performance and clean O’level results matter more.
- Subject check: he wrote Mathematics, Physics and Economics with English, which matches the brochure line.
- O’level check: credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Economics and Geography, and a pass in Technical Drawing, uploaded to CAPS.
Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. Samson’s 144 gives 18, and a screening score of 30 out of 50 would give 48 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Mubi has not published one.
Your chances of getting Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Mubi
- In my view Quantity Surveying draws moderate interest, so a score in the 140s is a fair position.
- The Art or Technical Drawing pass rules out more candidates than the UTME score does.
- Confirm the course is admitting, since it was not in the visible part of the 2026/2027 notice.
- Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline. For the 2026/2027 session JAMB set 31 December 2026 for polytechnics, so keep checking CAPS until then.
If you are offered Building Technology or Estate Management and Valuation instead, both work closely with quantity surveyors.
How to apply for Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Mubi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Quantity Surveying and register Use of English and any three of Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agricultural Science. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, not the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Mubi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot offer you admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
- Fill the screening form: open the Admission Portal link on fpmubieportal.edu.ng, pay only through the invoice the portal generates, complete the form and print every slip it gives you.
- Attend screening if called: take your UTME result slip, O’level results and the portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Mubi has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through a portal invoice in your name, then complete clearance.
Warning
Admission into Fed Poly Mubi comes through JAMB CAPS. If anyone offers you a “special list” slot or a “direct admission” for money, walk away. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through a portal invoice in your name.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Quantity Surveying at Fed Poly Mubi
ND Quantity Surveying trains technicians who measure building work, prepare bills of quantities and estimate construction costs. JAMB lists it for Fed Poly Mubi; the polytechnic has not published which school runs it.
What you study
- Measurement of building and civil engineering work
- Preparing bills of quantities
- Construction cost estimating and tendering
- Building construction and materials
- Contract law and procedure basics
- Communication in English and general studies courses
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT) before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Mubi has not published a course timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). I could not confirm the current NBTE accreditation status of ND Quantity Surveying itself. Ask the department, or check the NBTE’s list of accredited programmes, before you pay school fees.
Careers after the ND
- Quantity surveying assistant in consultancies and construction firms
- Cost estimator for contractors
- Procurement and contract offices in public works departments
- HND Quantity Surveying at a polytechnic that offers it

Mistakes that cost Quantity Surveying applicants a place at Fed Poly Mubi
- Treating 100 as a safe score: it is the minimum to apply, not a promise of admission.
- No pass in Art or Technical Drawing: the brochure requires one.
- Registering Chemistry in the UTME: it is not on the Quantity Surveying list.
- Choosing the wrong Mubi institution: the polytechnic and the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi are separate choices on JAMB.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot process your admission without it.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and clearance at the polytechnic are separate steps.

Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The course list is from the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Federal Polytechnic, Mubi course list and the 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice reprinted by Myschool on 8 August 2026, which is cut off after the first engineering course. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (Quantity Surveying brochure page), which has no Fed Poly Mubi remark. The 2026/2027 post-UTME form report is from AbsTechConnect (12 August 2026) and is unofficial. The polytechnic’s history (founded in 1979, moved from Yola to Mubi in 1982) is from Wikipedia, and the separation from the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi is from Leadership’s report on the 2023 approval of that university. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Mubi publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
