Before you look at the ESPOLY Business Administration cut-off mark, check one thing: Business Administration and Management is not on JAMB’s course list for Enugu State Polytechnic, as Myschool reprints it. That list has 10 courses, including Accountancy and Banking and Finance, but not Business Administration. ESPOLY has advertised the course before, so it may simply be missing from the reprint. If you can choose it on JAMB, the score to plan with is JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100; ESPOLY’s last published floor was 120 in 2021/2022.
2027/2028 update: ESPOLY cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because ESPOLY has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Is Business Administration on JAMB’s list for ESPOLY?
Not on the reprint I checked. Myschool’s copy of JAMB’s institution course list for Enugu State Polytechnic (abbreviated Enu-poly there) has 10 courses: Accountancy, Agricultural Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Banking and Finance, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Horticultural Technology, Production Tech and Statistics (Myschool course list). Business Administration is not one of them.
ESPOLY has offered the course. Its 2021/2022 screening notice, reprinted by Myschool on 30 November 2021, listed Business Administration among 17 ND programmes (Myschool reprint), and Teezab’s July 2026 course list puts ND Business Administration and Management in the School of Business Studies. ESPOLY’s own programme page could not be opened, so I cannot confirm from an ESPOLY source that it admits into the course in 2026/2027.
What this means for you
- JAMB’s registration and change-of-course screens only show courses JAMB has listed for an institution. If Business Administration is not there under Enugu State Polytechnic, you cannot choose it.
- ND admission goes through JAMB CAPS, and JAMB said on 11 May 2026 that admissions outside CAPS are illegal.
- If the live JAMB screen does show the course, the reprint is out of date and you can go ahead.
- If it does not, choose Accountancy or Banking and Finance at ESPOLY, both listed, or Business Administration at IMT Enugu.
ESPOLY Business Administration cut-off mark: official figures
ESPOLY’s 15 May 2026 announcement says it is accepting admissions for 2026/2027 but gives no minimum score (espoly.edu.ng). The national floor applies: JAMB kept the polytechnic minimum at 100 for 2026/2027 (NAN, 11 May 2026), the same as 2025/2026 (Nairametrics, 8 July 2025). ESPOLY last set its own figure for 2021/2022, when its screening notice invited candidates who scored 120 and above.

No ESPOLY notice has ever given a separate figure for Business Administration and Management. Treat any blog figure for it as unofficial.
Safe target score (consultant advice)
My advice is to aim for 140 or more. That is my planning number, not an ESPOLY figure. ESPOLY’s last published floor was 120 (2021/2022). Because of the JAMB listing problem above, you may need to switch to Accountancy at ESPOLY or Business Administration at IMT, and 140 or more keeps those realistic.

UTME subject combination for Business Administration and Management at ESPOLY
JAMB’s polytechnic brochure entry asks for Use of English plus Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics (brochure entry). The remarks on that page name other polytechnics (Igbajo, Akanu Ibiam, Yabatech, Ilaro and Bauchi among the UTME remarks), but none names Enugu State Polytechnic, so the general rule applies.
The combination I would sit is English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce. Economics and Commerce are the most natural pair for business management, and the same four subjects qualify you for Accountancy at ESPOLY and Business Administration at IMT if you need to switch.
O’level requirements for Business Administration and Management
The brochure asks for five credits including English Language (Literature in English does not count) and Mathematics, plus three from a list covering Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Geography, Office Practice, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History or Government, Typewriting and Shorthand. Teezab reports that ESPOLY accepts the five credits in no more than two sittings from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB; ESPOLY’s own entry-requirement page could not be opened to confirm.

HND and Direct Entry
JAMB’s brochure gives no Direct Entry rule, and HND is not a JAMB route. Teezab’s 2026/2027 HND list for ESPOLY does not include Business Administration, so plan on an HND elsewhere, such as IMT, if you take this ND. The usual entry rule is a relevant ND at Lower Credit or better plus industrial training. See our ESPOLY HND guide.
ESPOLY screening and a worked example
ESPOLY has not published a post-UTME test, screening fee or timetable for 2026/2027. Its site sends applicants to portal.espoly.edu.ng/applicant.php, and on 14 May 2026 it posted portal guides for ND 1 and HND 1 students and said the portal was working for payments. The fee schedule link on the site is empty. In 2021/2022 the notice asked candidates to choose ESPOLY, or change to it, as first choice; I would still do that.
Worked example (illustrative)
Kosisochukwu scored 141 with English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce. The O’level is English B3, Mathematics C6, Economics C4, Commerce B3, Geography C5, from one NECO sitting. That clears JAMB’s 100, ESPOLY’s old 120 and my 140 target (141 minus 140 = 1), with five credits including English and Mathematics.
Many polytechnics rank ND applicants with a 50/50 mix of UTME and O’level. Using that only as an illustration: the UTME half is 141 ÷ 8 = 17.63. With A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6 and C6 = 5, the five grades give 8 + 5 + 7 + 8 + 6 = 34. The illustrative total is 51.63 out of 100. ESPOLY has published no aggregate formula, so use this only to compare yourself with other applicants.
Kosisochukwu’s C6 in Mathematics is the weak point, and the bigger risk is the listing. If Business Administration does not appear under ESPOLY on JAMB, the same score and subjects fit ESPOLY Accountancy or IMT Business Administration.
How to apply for Business Administration and Management at ESPOLY
- Create your JAMB profile: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line you will use. JAMB replies with your profile code.
- Check the course on JAMB: look for Business Administration and Management under Enugu State Polytechnic. If it is missing, choose a listed course.
- Write the UTME: aim for 140 or more. See how to check your JAMB result.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB accredited centre, both sittings if you used two.
- Apply on the ESPOLY portal: portal.espoly.edu.ng/applicant.php. Pay only the amount the portal generates.

- Pay acceptance and register: print your JAMB admission letter, then pay ESPOLY’s acceptance and school fees through the portal. ESPOLY has not published these fees.

Warning
Do not pay for a Business Administration place at ESPOLY until you have seen the course under Enugu State Polytechnic on JAMB. Every valid ND admission must appear on JAMB CAPS, and nobody can sell you a place.
Your chances of admission
Your chances depend first on whether the course is open on JAMB. If it is, ESPOLY’s business intake is likely smaller than IMT’s, and a score of 140 or more with clean credits should be competitive. That is my judgement; ESPOLY has released no numbers. If it is not open, the score matters for where you switch.

What you study in Business Administration and Management
ESPOLY has not published its course list. NBTE’s national ND Business Administration and Management curriculum (August 2004) gives a fair picture:

- Semester 3: Principles of Management I, Business Statistics I, Office Management, Business Law I, Cost Accounting I, Research Methods, Information Technology II
- Semester 4: Principles of Management II, Business Statistics II, Elements of Production Management, Elements of Human Capital Management, Cost Accounting II, Project
SIWES of three to four months in a business or public office sits between the two years. NBTE classes an ND as Distinction (3.50 and above), Upper Credit (3.00 to 3.49), Lower Credit (2.50 to 2.99) or Pass (2.00 to 2.49), which matters for HND entry.
Duration and accreditation
Under NBTE’s pattern the full-time ND takes two years (four semesters), and an HND takes two more years after the ND and a year of industrial training. NBTE’s January 2026 brochure of approved curricula lists ND and HND Business Administration and Management, so the programme exists nationally. Whether ESPOLY’s Business Administration and Management programme holds current NBTE accreditation is not confirmed: ESPOLY’s site publishes no accreditation statement, and Teezab’s claim of NBTE approval cites no source. Ask the polytechnic for its NBTE letter before you pay fees.

- Assuming an advert means the course is on JAMB: check the JAMB screen yourself.
- Planning with 100 alone: it only makes you eligible, and ESPOLY’s own last floor was 120.
- Dropping Mathematics: it is compulsory in the UTME and at O’level.
- Counting Literature in place of English Language: the brochure rules it out.
- Leaving O’level off CAPS: ESPOLY cannot recommend you without it.
