Fed Poly Ohodo Business Administration and Management Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Fed Poly Ohodo advertises ND Business Administration, but JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic (Myschool reprint) does not include it. See the 100 minimum, safe target, UTME subjects, O’level, CAPS steps and Enugu alternatives for 2027/2028.

Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo advertises ND Business Administration and Management, but the course is not on JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic as Myschool reprints it. That list shows only two courses for Ohodo: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. So before you worry about the Fed Poly Ohodo Business Administration cut-off mark, check that you can actually pick the course on JAMB. If you can, the score to plan with is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics, 100, because the polytechnic has never published a departmental figure.

2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

This page explains what the missing JAMB listing means for a UTME candidate, what the polytechnic itself has published, the subjects and O’level grades JAMB asks for, a safe target score, the steps through CAPS, and the Enugu alternatives that are on JAMB’s list for business courses.

Is Business Administration on JAMB’s list for Fed Poly Ohodo?

Not on the version I checked. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s institution course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (abbreviated FPO there) has exactly two entries: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology (Myschool course list for FPO). Business Administration and Management, Accountancy and Public Administration, all advertised by the polytechnic, are missing.

The polytechnic itself does advertise the course. Its official notice, "Admission for 2025/2026 Session", posted on 17 November 2025, lists ND Business Administration and Management under the School of Business Studies and Management, beside ND Accountancy and ND Public Administration (FEDPOD 2025/2026 notice). The 2026/2027 notice, reprinted by Myschool on 24 May 2026 and by two other education sites, repeats the same ND list and says all programmes are approved and accredited by NBTE.

Why the gap? FEDPOD is young. In April 2025 the Rector, Dr Emmanuel Agada Ediri, told Blueprint that when he took office the polytechnic ran only Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and that Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science and Public Administration were accredited afterwards, with more programmes planned. Business Administration first shows up in the November 2025 notice, so it is one of the newest courses. JAMB’s lists and the Myschool reprint can lag behind a new programme. That is my reading of the dates, not a statement from JAMB or FEDPOD.

What this means for a UTME candidate

  • On JAMB’s registration and change-of-course screens, you can only pick a course that JAMB has listed for that institution. If Business Administration does not appear under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo when you register, you cannot choose it there.
  • Admission into ND programmes goes through JAMB CAPS. JAMB said on 11 May 2026 that admissions outside CAPS are illegal, so a place that never shows on CAPS is not a valid admission.
  • If the course does appear on the live JAMB e-brochure or registration screen, the Myschool reprint is simply out of date, and you can apply normally.
  • If it does not, ask FEDPOD’s admissions office in writing how it admits Business Administration students through CAPS before you pay for anything.

I would check this first, at a JAMB registration centre or on the JAMB e-facility, before buying a FEDPOD form.

Fed Poly Ohodo Business Administration cut-off mark

FEDPOD has not published a cut-off mark for Business Administration or for any of its ND courses. Neither the 2025/2026 notice nor the 2026/2027 reprints give a score. The only official figure is JAMB’s national floor. At its 2026 policy meeting JAMB kept the minimum UTME score for polytechnics at 100 for 2026/2027 (NAN, 11 May 2026), the same figure it set for 2025/2026 (Nairametrics, 8 July 2025).

Safe target score (consultant advice)

With no FEDPOD figure, 100 only makes you eligible. My advice is to aim for 140 or more. That is my own planning number, not a FEDPOD cut-off. A new polytechnic in a rural part of Igbo-Etiti will not have the crowd that IMT Enugu has for business courses, so I do not set it as high as I would for IMT. The bigger reason to aim above 140 is the JAMB listing problem: if you have to move to another Enugu polytechnic, a score in the 140s or higher keeps IMT, ESPOLY and FCC Oji River realistic.

Your UTME scoreWhat it means
Below 100Not eligible for any polytechnic
100 to 139Eligible if the course is open to you on JAMB; keep a second business course ready
140 to 179Comfortable for a business ND at a young polytechnic
180 and aboveStrong; you could also consider a university business degree

UTME subject combination for Business Administration

JAMB’s polytechnic brochure entry for Business Administration and Management asks for Use of English plus Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics (brochure entry). The page carries remarks for several polytechnics, including Akanu Ibiam and Yabatech, but none for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, so the general rule is what applies.

SubjectStatus
Use of EnglishCompulsory for every UTME candidate
MathematicsCompulsory for this course
EconomicsAccepted; I would take it
Commerce or Principles of AccountsAccepted; a good fourth subject
Geography or GovernmentAlso accepted as one of the two

I would sit English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce. It meets the general rule and the stricter remarks other polytechnics attach, which matters if you end up changing institution.

O’level requirements for Business Administration at FEDPOD

The brochure asks for five credits including English Language (Literature in English does not count) and Mathematics, plus three from a list that includes Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Geography, Office Practice, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History or Government, Typewriting and Shorthand. FEDPOD has an entry-requirement page on its website, but I could not open it, and its notices do not state a sittings rule.

RequirementDetail
CreditsFive, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB
CompulsoryEnglish Language and Mathematics
Best three othersEconomics, Commerce and Principles of Accounts or Business Methods
SittingsNot stated by FEDPOD; NBTE’s ND Business Administration curriculum allows no more than two
Awaiting resultYour result must be on CAPS before the polytechnic can recommend you

HND and Direct Entry

JAMB’s brochure gives no Direct Entry rule for this course, and an HND is not a JAMB route. FEDPOD’s 2026/2027 HND list covers only Electrical and Electronics Engineering options, so there is no HND Business Administration at Ohodo yet. Our Fed Poly Ohodo HND guide has the details.

Screening and a worked example

FEDPOD has not published a post-UTME test, screening fee or timetable for 2026/2027. The notices invite candidates to apply on portal.fedpod.edu.ng and give the admissions email and phone lines. Expect an online form and document check: UTME result slip, O’level results, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.

Worked example (illustrative)

Chisom scored 152 with English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce. Her WAEC has English C4, Mathematics B3, Economics B2, Commerce C5 and Government C6 in one sitting. She is 52 above the floor and 12 above my target, and her O’level meets the five-credit rule.

Many polytechnics rank ND applicants with a 50/50 mix of UTME and O’level. Using that only as an illustration: the UTME half is 152 ÷ 8 = 19.0. With A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6 and C6 = 5, her five grades give 7 + 8 + 9 + 6 + 5 = 35. Her illustrative total is 54.0 out of 100. FEDPOD has published no aggregate formula; use this only to compare yourself with other applicants.

Her real problem is the listing. Before she pays for a FEDPOD form, she checks whether Business Administration appears under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on JAMB. If it does not, her 152 and her grades fit IMT’s Business Administration or ESPOLY’s Accountancy, both of which use the same UTME subjects.

How to apply to Fed Poly Ohodo

  1. Create your JAMB profile: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line you will use. JAMB replies with your profile code.
  2. Check the course on JAMB: at registration, look for Business Administration and Management under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo. If it is missing, pick a listed alternative.
  3. Write the UTME: you need 100, and I would aim for 140. See how to check your JAMB result.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB accredited centre as soon as your result is out.
  5. Apply on the FEDPOD portal: fill the form at portal.fedpod.edu.ng and pay only through the payment page the portal generates.
  6. Accept on CAPS: JAMB’s 2026 rules withdraw an offer not accepted within four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows the screens.
  7. Pay acceptance and register: print your JAMB admission letter, pay FEDPOD’s acceptance and school fees through its portal and complete registration. FEDPOD has not published these fees.

JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education, so this cycle runs until that date. To move to FEDPOD or away from it, read JAMB change of institution; to switch into or out of Business Administration, see JAMB change of course.

Warning

Do not pay for a Business Administration place at Fed Poly Ohodo until you have seen the course listed under the polytechnic on JAMB, or have a written answer from admissions@fedpod.edu.ng on how it is offered through CAPS. Every valid admission must appear on JAMB CAPS, and nobody can sell you a place.

Alternatives for Business Administration in Enugu

If the course is not open to you at Ohodo, these are the nearest options. Check each on JAMB too.

What you study in Business Administration and Management

FEDPOD has not published its course list. NBTE’s national ND Business Administration and Management curriculum (August 2004) gives a fair picture:

  • Semester 1: Introduction to Business I, Business Mathematics I, Principles of Economics I, Principles of Accounts I, Principles of Marketing, Elements of Public Administration, Principles of Purchasing, Principles of Law I
  • Semester 2: Introduction to Business II, Business Mathematics II, Principles of Economics II, Principles of Accounts II, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Information Technology I, Introduction to Social Psychology, Communication in English I
  • Semester 3: Principles of Management I, Business Statistics I, Office Management, Business Law I, Cost Accounting I, Research Methods, Information Technology II
  • Semester 4: Principles of Management II, Business Statistics II, Elements of Production Management, Elements of Human Capital Management, Cost Accounting II, Project

SIWES, three to four months in a business or public office, sits between the two years. NBTE classes an ND as Distinction (3.50 and above), Upper Credit (3.00 to 3.49), Lower Credit (2.50 to 2.99) or Pass (2.00 to 2.49), which matters later for HND entry.

Duration and accreditation

Under NBTE’s pattern, the full-time ND takes two years (four semesters). FEDPOD’s notice says all its programmes are NBTE approved and accredited, and at the third matriculation on 22 May 2026 the Rector, Dr Ediri Emmanuel Agada, mentioned NBTE accreditation of additional ND and HND programmes without naming them (FEDPOD matriculation report). Programme-level NBTE status for Business Administration at Ohodo is not confirmed. Ask the polytechnic for the NBTE approval letter for the course.

Careers

  • Administrative officer or assistant in companies, schools, churches and NGOs
  • Sales, purchasing and customer service roles
  • Human resources and operations support
  • Running a small business, using the entrepreneurship and accounting courses
  • HND Business Administration elsewhere, or a degree, after the ND

Mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming the polytechnic’s advert puts the course on JAMB: check the JAMB listing yourself.
  • Treating 100 as a guarantee: it only makes you eligible.
  • Dropping Mathematics: it is compulsory in the UTME and the O’level for this course.
  • Forgetting CAPS: an O’level not uploaded, or an offer not accepted within four weeks, can cost you the place.
  • Paying agents: use portal.fedpod.edu.ng and the official contacts only.

Fed Poly Ohodo Business Administration: FAQs

Does Federal Polytechnic Ohodo offer Business Administration? Its own 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 notices list ND Business Administration and Management. JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic, as reprinted by Myschool, does not include it, so confirm the course on JAMB before you apply.

What is the cut-off mark for Business Administration at Fed Poly Ohodo? FEDPOD has not published one. JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics is 100 for 2026/2027, and I suggest 140 or more as a safe target.

Can I change my course to Business Administration at Fed Poly Ohodo? Only if JAMB lists the course under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on its change-of-course screen. If it is not there, choose a listed course or another institution.

What are the JAMB subjects for Business Administration in polytechnic? Use of English, Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics. English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce is the safest choice.
