The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Pharmacy is 180 in the UTME. That is the figure the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Nzotta, gave for the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) programme when admission opened for 2025/2026 (The Sun, 20 November 2025). JAMB’s minimum for all universities is 150 for 2026/2027, but Amadeus set its own higher bar for Pharmacy, and it has not published a different figure since.
2027/2028 update: Amadeus cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest figures available: Amadeus’s 2025/2026 Pharmacy figure, read with JAMB’s 2026/2027 minimum, because Amadeus has not issued a 2026/2027 notice with a score. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Before you pick Amadeus for Pharmacy, check two things that I could not settle. Pharmacy (PHARM.D) is on Amadeus’s own programme list, but it is not on the only JAMB course list for Amadeus I could find, a 19-course list last updated in February 2026 that predates the new programme. I could not open JAMB’s own page for Amadeus. The JAMB course name to look for is Pharmacy. If it does not show under Amadeus University, Amizi when you register or change course, CAPS cannot carry an Amadeus Pharmacy offer to you, and you should look at UNN Pharmacy, ESUT Pharmacy or Gregory University Pharmacy instead. The second point is accreditation: Amadeus is not yet on the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) list of accredited universities, and NUC has no accreditation result for the programme.

Amadeus Pharmacy cut-off mark history
Pharmacy is one of three professional programmes NUC approved for Amadeus after its first set of 19 courses; Law and Medicine and Surgery are the other two. The Sun’s November 2025 report quoted the Vice-Chancellor as saying admissions had started for MBBS and Doctor of Pharmacy, and that candidates needed JAMB scores of 200 and above, or 180 for D.Pharm.
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025/2026 | 180 | Amadeus minimum for Doctor of Pharmacy | Stated by the Vice-Chancellor (The Sun, 20 November 2025) |
| 2025/2026 | 200 and above | Amadeus minimum given in the same passage, for MBBS | Stated by the Vice-Chancellor |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB minimum for universities | National figure |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB minimum for universities | Official (11 May 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | Not published | Amadeus figure for Pharmacy | No notice found |
Nothing I found says Amadeus dropped the 180 bar for 2026/2027. A school that set 180 for its first Pharmacy intake rarely lowers it for the second, so I would treat 180 as the floor for 2027/2028 and 150 as the point below which no university can admit you at all.
Safe target score for Pharmacy at Amadeus (my advice)
This table is my judgement, not an Amadeus rule. Amadeus is a young private university and gets fewer applicants than UNN or ESUT, but Pharmacy draws the strongest science candidates wherever it is offered, and seats in a new professional programme are limited. Amadeus also says it weighs character and activities alongside grades.
| Your UTME score | My read for Amadeus Pharmacy |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any university in 2026/2027 |
| 150 to 179 | Below Amadeus’s stated Pharmacy bar; ask about a related science course |
| 180 to 199 | Meets the bar; your O’level grades and any interview decide it |
| 200 to 229 | Competitive |
| 230 and above | Strong, and keeps UNN and ESUT within reach too |
For the 2027 UTME, aim for 200 or more. It clears Amadeus comfortably and keeps you in the running at accredited Pharmacy schools if you change your mind about a new programme.
Amadeus Pharmacy subject combination and O’level requirements
Amadeus’s admission page asks every candidate for five credits including English and Mathematics plus three other relevant subjects, and it does not list subjects per course. The Pharmacy subjects below are JAMB’s brochure rule as reprinted on Myschool. The special remarks on that entry name other universities (UI’s one-sitting rule, for example), not Amadeus.
| Requirement | Pharmacy |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology |
| Any choice of fourth subject? | No. All four are fixed. |
| O’level (JAMB brochure) | Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology |
| O’level (Amadeus page) | Five credits including English and Mathematics plus three other relevant subjects |
| Exams and sittings | WAEC, NECO or GCE; Amadeus’s 2025/2026 notice allowed one or two sittings |
| Direct Entry (JAMB brochure) | Three A-level passes in Chemistry, Biology or Zoology, and Physics or Mathematics, plus the UTME requirements |
O’level mistakes that cost Pharmacy candidates
- A pass (D7 or E8) in Physics. Many science candidates treat Physics as the weak one, but Pharmacy needs a credit in all three sciences.
- Mathematics at pass level. Pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics are heavy on calculation, and the brochure requires the credit.
- Using Agricultural Science in place of Biology. It is not accepted for Pharmacy in the UTME or O’level.
- Name or date-of-birth mismatches between WAEC, NECO and JAMB. Fix them before you upload to CAPS.
Chemistry is the subject I would protect most. Pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics and pharmacology all build on it, and a strong Chemistry grade tells an admissions panel more than anything else on your result. For revision, use our JAMB Chemistry syllabus and JAMB Biology syllabus guides.
Direct Entry into Pharmacy at Amadeus
JAMB’s brochure accepts three A-level passes in Chemistry, Biology or Zoology, and Physics or Mathematics, and the candidate must also meet the UTME O’level requirements. Amadeus has not published a Direct Entry rule for Pharmacy, and the programme only took its first students in 2025/2026, so there may be no 200-level class to join yet. Email admissions@amadeus.edu.ng and get a written answer before you buy a Direct Entry form for Amadeus Pharmacy.
How Amadeus screens Pharmacy candidates
Amadeus has never published a post-UTME test or an aggregate formula. Its admission page says it looks at academic performance and also weighs character, extracurricular activities and social involvement, with room for students from underserved communities. A 2024 blog report mentioned an interview and a minimum age of 16; the university’s own page confirms neither, so prepare for an interview without counting on one.
In 2025/2026 the Vice-Chancellor said admission would close on 30 November 2025 and asked JAMB candidates who wanted Amadeus to do a change of university and course. For 2026/2027, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the admission deadline for private universities, and every offer must go through CAPS; JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal.
Worked example (illustrative only)
Amadeus has no published scoring method. Many Nigerian universities rank candidates by a 50/50 mix: UTME score divided by 8 (maximum 50) plus O’level points for five relevant subjects (A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5; maximum 50). I use it only to show how two Pharmacy applicants compare.
| Detail | Candidate A | Candidate B |
|---|---|---|
| UTME score | 212 | 184 |
| UTME points (score ÷ 8) | 26.5 | 23 |
| English Language | B3 (8) | C4 (7) |
| Mathematics | B2 (9) | C5 (6) |
| Physics | B3 (8) | C6 (5) |
| Chemistry | A1 (10) | C4 (7) |
| Biology | B2 (9) | B3 (8) |
| O’level points | 44 | 33 |
| Aggregate out of 100 | 70.5 | 56 |
Both candidates clear the 180 bar. Candidate A is 32 marks above it with strong one-sitting grades and is well placed. Candidate B is only 4 marks above 180, and the weak Physics and Mathematics grades pull the aggregate down by more than the UTME score can make up: each O’level grade step here is worth 8 UTME marks. Candidate B should apply, but should also decide early whether to accept a related course such as Medical Laboratory Science if Pharmacy is full.
How to apply for Pharmacy at Amadeus, step by step
- Create your JAMB profile: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from your own line to get a profile code, then register at an accredited centre.
- Check that Amadeus offers Pharmacy on JAMB: at the centre, ask the officer to open Amadeus University, Amizi on the e-brochure and confirm “Pharmacy” is listed before you choose it.
- Choose Amadeus and Pharmacy: write Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If you registered elsewhere, use JAMB change of institution and change of course; Amadeus accepted change-of-institution candidates in 2025/2026.
- Score at least 180: then read our guide on what to do with your JAMB score.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre as soon as your WAEC, NECO or GCE result is out. Amadeus cannot recommend you for admission without it.
- Apply on the Amadeus portal: create an account at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, fill the form and upload your documents. The admission page does not state a form fee; confirm it on the portal.
- Attend any interview: if invited, bring your original O’level results, UTME result slip and birth certificate or age declaration.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gives four weeks to accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and school fees: only into Amadeus’s official account, and only after CAPS shows “Pharmacy” as your admitted course. Current Pharmacy fees were not on any official page I reached.
Before you pay
Do not pay an Amadeus acceptance fee for Pharmacy until JAMB CAPS shows “Pharmacy” as your admitted course, and ask the university in writing for its NUC approval and Pharmacy Council of Nigeria accreditation position. Ignore quiz and classified-ad posts selling an Amadeus “post-UTME form” through a private phone number; the official channels are admissions.amadeus.edu.ng and admissions@amadeus.edu.ng.
Is Pharmacy at Amadeus University accredited?
Pharmacy at Amadeus runs on NUC’s approval to start the programme, which the Vice-Chancellor described in November 2025. It does not yet have an accreditation result, and two regulators matter here.
| Regulator | What I checked | Amadeus Pharmacy |
|---|---|---|
| NUC | “Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025” publication and NUC report pages | No result. Amadeus is not in the publication, and its only NUC report page is for Entrepreneurship. |
| Pharmacy Council of Nigeria | PCN accredited-universities page (25 universities, last modified September 2024) | Not listed. In the South East the page lists UNN, UNIZIK, ESUT and COOU. |
Missing accreditation is normal for a programme whose first students started in 2025/2026, because NUC and PCN usually inspect once a class is well into the degree. It still matters to you. PCN registers Pharmacy graduates for internship and licensing, so you want the programme accredited by the time your class graduates. Ask the faculty when the first NUC and PCN visits are due, and keep asking each year. Note that PCN’s page is out of date: Gregory University’s Pharm.D received full NUC accreditation in 2025/2026 (Voice of Nigeria, 16 September 2026) and still does not appear on it.
About Amadeus University and its Pharmacy programme
Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State. NUC handed over its licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023), and Senate President Godswill Akpabio declared it open at its first matriculation on 8 February 2025. The founder is Dr Godwin Nwabunka, chairman of the Grooming Centre board. The admission page lists Pharmacy as PHARM.D, separate from the College of Medicine (MBBS) and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; the Pharmacy faculty’s name and its building have not been published. The Vice-Chancellor said the university has a medical centre and plans a full teaching hospital later.
What you study in a Pharm.D
Amadeus has not published its Pharmacy course outline. Pharm.D degrees in Nigeria usually take six years and follow NUC’s curriculum, so expect:
- Basic sciences in the first year: chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics
- Human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry
- Pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy (medicines from plants and natural sources)
- Pharmaceutics: how tablets, injections and creams are formulated and made
- Pharmacology and toxicology, and pharmaceutical microbiology
- Clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice, with ward and community placements in the later years
- A research project in the final year
Clinical training depends on hospital access. Since Amadeus’s teaching hospital is still a plan, ask which hospitals its Pharmacy students will rotate through.
Careers
After graduation, induction and a PCN-registered internship year, pharmacists work in hospital and community pharmacy, drug manufacturing and quality control, regulatory work with agencies such as NAFDAC, medical sales, public health supply chains, and teaching and research.

If you want a Pharmacy school with an accreditation record, compare UNN and ESUT, both on PCN’s list, and Gregory University, Uturu, a private option in Abia with full NUC accreditation.
Amadeus Pharmacy cut-off mark: FAQs
What is the Amadeus University cut-off mark for Pharmacy for 2027/2028?
Plan with 180, the minimum Amadeus gave for Doctor of Pharmacy in 2025/2026. It has not published a new figure, and I would aim for 200 or more.
Can I get Pharmacy at Amadeus with 160 in JAMB?
Unlikely. 160 passes JAMB’s 150 minimum for universities but is below the 180 Amadeus set for Pharmacy. Ask the admissions office whether a related science course is open to you instead.
Is Amadeus University Pharmacy accredited by PCN?
Not yet. Amadeus is not on the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria’s list of accredited universities, and NUC has no accreditation result for the programme, which started in 2025/2026 on NUC’s approval.
Does Amadeus University write post-UTME for Pharmacy?
No post-UTME test has been published. You apply on admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, and the university reviews your grades, character and activities, so be ready for an interview.
