The Amadeus University cut-off mark for Computer Science is 150 in the UTME, the minimum JAMB set for all universities for 2026/2027 at its policy meeting of 11 May 2026. Amadeus University, Amizi, asks for UTME scores “in line with” the national minimum and faculty requirements, but it has not published a separate figure for Computer Science, and it was not among the institutions that declared their own 2026 cut-offs at that meeting.
2027/2028 update: Amadeus cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Computer Science is on Amadeus’s own programme list (B.Sc. Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Computing) and on JAMB-style course lists for the university under the name Computer Science, which is the course name to pick when you register. I could not open JAMB’s own institution page for Amadeus, so tick it on the e-brochure when you register. Below: the figures, a safe target score (my advice), the UTME subjects and O’level rules, Direct Entry, how Amadeus selects candidates, a worked example, the CAPS steps and the programme’s accreditation position.

Amadeus Computer Science cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB minimum for universities | Official (11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB minimum for universities | Previous year’s national figure |
| 2025/2026 | 200+ (Medicine) and 180+ (Pharmacy) | Amadeus figures for its two new professional courses | Stated by the Vice-Chancellor, The Sun, 20 November 2025 |
| Any year | None | Amadeus departmental figure for Computer Science | Never published |
The only course-level numbers Amadeus has given out are for Medicine and Pharmacy. Prof. Samuel Nzotta, the Vice-Chancellor, told The Sun in November 2025 that MBBS candidates needed 200 and above and Doctor of Pharmacy candidates 180 and above. Nothing similar has been said for Computer Science, so it sits under the general rule.
Safe target score for Computer Science at Amadeus (my advice)
This is my judgement, not an Amadeus rule. Amadeus opened in 2025 and is a private university, so it gets far fewer applicants than ABSU, MOUAU or UNN. The university also says it weighs character and activities alongside grades, so a modest score with a strong record can still work.
| Your UTME score | My read for Amadeus Computer Science |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any university in 2026/2027 |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible; your O’level grades and interview will decide it |
| 170 to 199 | Good chance with complete science credits |
| 200 and above | Strong. This is the range I would aim for. |
For the 2027 UTME, aim for 180 or more, ideally 200. A score of 200 also keeps public options such as ABSU Computer Science and MOUAU Computer Science realistic if your plans change.
Amadeus Computer Science subject combination and O’level requirements
Amadeus’s admission page asks for five credits including Mathematics and English plus three other relevant subjects, from WASSCE, NECO or GCE. It does not list the Computer Science subjects, so the rest of this table is JAMB’s brochure rule as reprinted on Myschool. Amadeus has no remark on that page.
| Requirement | Computer Science |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography |
| The combination I would use | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry |
| O’level (JAMB brochure) | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other science subjects |
| O’level (Amadeus page) | Five credits including Mathematics and English plus three other relevant subjects |
| Exams and sittings | WAEC, NECO or GCE; Amadeus’s 2025 admission notice allowed one or two sittings |
| Direct Entry (JAMB brochure) | Two A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other science or social science subject |
Why I would pick Chemistry as the fourth subject
JAMB allows Economics, Geography or Agricultural Science as the fourth subject, and Amadeus has not said it rejects any of them. But a long list of universities on the same brochure page insist on Chemistry (FUTO, UI, LASU, Babcock and COOU among them), and several others refuse Economics or Agricultural Science. With Chemistry you can still change to almost any Computer Science department in Nigeria after your UTME. Physics is not optional; candidates who drop it for Biology end up with an invalid combination.
O’level mistakes to avoid
- A missing Physics credit. Both the brochure and most universities require it.
- Only one science subject besides Physics. The brochure asks for two more (Chemistry and Biology, or Chemistry and Further Mathematics, for example).
- Different names or dates of birth on WAEC, NECO and JAMB records. Fix these before you upload to CAPS.
Direct Entry into Computer Science at Amadeus
JAMB’s brochure accepts two A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or an NCE merit in Mathematics and one other science or social science subject. Other universities’ remarks also accept ND or HND in Computer Science at set grades, but Amadeus has not published its own Direct Entry rule, so email admissions@amadeus.edu.ng before you buy a Direct Entry form. Amadeus’s first students entered in the 2024/2025 session, so a Direct Entry candidate would join a young department at 200 level.
How Amadeus selects Computer Science candidates
Amadeus does not publish a post-UTME test or an aggregate formula. Its admission page says it looks at academic performance but also weighs character, extracurricular activities and social involvement, and that it makes room for students from underserved communities. A 2024 blog report spoke of an interview and a minimum age of 16; the university’s own page does not confirm either, so be ready for an interview without counting on it.
Amadeus’s official application steps are short: choose Amadeus University Amizi through JAMB, then complete the form at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng. JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, and offers have to go through CAPS; JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. In 2025/2026, the Vice-Chancellor said Amadeus would close admission on 30 November 2025 and accepted candidates through JAMB change of institution.
Worked example (illustrative only)
Amadeus has no published scoring method. Many Nigerian universities rank candidates by a 50/50 mix: UTME score divided by 8 (maximum 50) plus O’level points for five relevant subjects (A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5; maximum 50). I use it here only to show how to judge your own strength.
| Subject | Grade | Points |
|---|---|---|
| English Language | C4 | 7 |
| Mathematics | B2 | 9 |
| Physics | B3 | 8 |
| Chemistry | C5 | 6 |
| Biology | C4 | 7 |
| O’level total | 37 |
A candidate with 192 in the UTME earns 192 ÷ 8 = 24 points. With 37 O’level points the aggregate is 61 out of 100. Each O’level grade step is worth 8 UTME marks here, so lifting Chemistry from C5 to B3 is worth the same as 16 extra UTME marks. At a university that also weighs your interview and record, those grades count even more.
How to apply for Computer Science at Amadeus, step by step
- Create your JAMB profile: send your NIN to 55019 or 66019 from your own line to get a profile code, then register for the UTME at an accredited centre.
- Choose Amadeus and Computer Science: pick Amadeus University, Amizi, and “Computer Science” with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. If you chose another school, use JAMB change of institution (Amadeus accepted change-of-institution candidates in 2025/2026).
- Score at least 150: then check your result and plan with our guide on what to do with your JAMB score.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre, as soon as your WAEC, NECO or GCE result is out. Amadeus cannot propose you without it.
- Apply on the Amadeus portal: register at admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, fill the form and upload your documents. The page does not state a form fee; confirm it on the portal.
- Attend any interview or assessment: if the admissions office invites you, go with your original O’level results, UTME result slip and birth certificate or age declaration.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, go to Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gives four weeks to accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows each step.
- Pay acceptance and school fees: only to Amadeus’s official account, after CAPS shows your admission. Amadeus’s current Computer Science fees were not published on the pages I could open.
Warning
Quiz and classified-ad sites carry posts saying an Amadeus University “post-UTME, Direct Entry and IJMB form is out” with a private phone number to call. Amadeus’s official channels are admissions.amadeus.edu.ng, admissions@amadeus.edu.ng and the phone numbers on amadeus.edu.ng. Never pay for a form or a list through anyone else.
About Amadeus University and its Computer Science programme
Amadeus University is a private university at Amizi, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State. NUC handed over its licence in June 2023 (ThisDay, 17 June 2023), and Senate President Godswill Akpabio declared it open at its first matriculation on 8 February 2025. The founder is Dr Godwin Nwabunka, chairman of the Grooming Centre board. Computer Science sits in the Faculty of Science and Computing with Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Forensic Science.
What you study
Amadeus has not published its Computer Science course outline. Nigerian Computer Science degrees follow NUC’s Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards, so expect:
- Introduction to computing and problem solving, and programming in languages such as Python, C and Java
- Mathematics for computing: calculus, linear algebra, discrete structures and statistics
- Data structures and algorithms, and the theory of computation
- Computer architecture, operating systems and computer networks
- Database design and management, software engineering and web development
- Artificial intelligence, information security and human-computer interaction
- Industrial training (SIWES), usually in the third or fourth year, and a final-year project
Accreditation
Computer Science at Amadeus has no NUC accreditation result yet. Amadeus does not appear in NUC’s “Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025” publication (released September 2026), and I found no NUC report page for Amadeus Computer Science. That is expected: the first students only matriculated in February 2025, and NUC usually accredits a new programme once its first students are well into the degree. The course runs on NUC’s approval to start. When you visit, ask when the first accreditation visit is due.
Careers
Computer Science graduates work as software developers, web and mobile developers, data analysts, network and systems administrators, cybersecurity analysts, IT support and database administrators, in banks, telecoms, fintech, government agencies and startups, or go on to a master’s degree.

Amadeus Computer Science cut-off mark: FAQs
What is the Amadeus University cut-off mark for Computer Science for 2027/2028?
Plan with 150, the JAMB minimum used for 2026/2027. Amadeus has not published a higher figure for Computer Science; I would aim for 180 or more.
Can I use Economics instead of Chemistry for Computer Science at Amadeus?
JAMB’s general rule allows it, and Amadeus has no remark against it. Chemistry is still the safer fourth subject because many other universities refuse Economics if you later change institution.
Does Amadeus University write post-UTME for Computer Science?
Amadeus has not published a post-UTME test. It reviews your application on its portal and says it also weighs character and activities, so be ready for an interview.
Is Computer Science at Amadeus University accredited?
Not yet. The first students matriculated in February 2025 and NUC has not published an accreditation result for the programme, which runs on NUC’s approval to start.
