The Fed Poly Ohodo Computer Engineering cut off mark is 100 in the UTME, JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (FEDPOD) has not published a departmental figure. There is a catch you should know before you register: FEDPOD advertises ND Computer Engineering in its own admission notices, but the course is not on FEDPOD’s course list in Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB brochure, which shows only two courses for Ohodo.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
So FEDPOD does run the course; the question is whether you will find it under FEDPOD when you register for the UTME. If it shows on JAMB’s e-brochure, choose it. If it does not, the safest UTME choice is Fed Poly Ohodo Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut-off mark, which is on the list and uses the same subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. This page sets out the evidence, the figures that apply, the subjects and O’level, my safe target, how to handle the JAMB listing problem, the CAPS steps and the alternatives.
Fed Poly Ohodo Computer Engineering cut off mark: quick answers

Does Fed Poly Ohodo offer Computer Engineering through JAMB?
FEDPOD’s official notice Admission for 2025/2026 Session, posted on 17 November 2025, lists ND Computer Engineering under the School of Engineering Technology, next to ND and HND Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The 2026/2027 notice, signed by the Registrar and reprinted by Campusinfo on 24 May 2026 and Schoolnews on 26 May 2026, lists it again among eight ND programmes, and says all FEDPOD programmes are NBTE approved and accredited.
JAMB’s side is less clear. Myschool’s course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, a reprint of JAMB’s brochure, shows only Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. FEDPOD’s Computer Science, Statistics, Accountancy, Public Administration and Business Administration are missing too, so the reprint is probably behind FEDPOD’s growth. FEDPOD is a young polytechnic that has added programmes since it opened, and JAMB’s list for a new school can lag.
What this means for you: before you pay for UTME registration, check JAMB’s own e-brochure, or ask at the CBT centre, whether Computer Engineering appears under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo. That one check decides which of the two routes below you take.
Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark history that applies to Computer Engineering
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (Nairametrics and Channels TV, 8 July 2025) |
| Any session | Not published | FEDPOD’s own departmental cut-off | No FEDPOD figure in any source I reached |
Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (FEDPOD) is the only federal polytechnic in Enugu State, located at Ohodo in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area. It is young: it held its 3rd matriculation on 22 May 2026, where the Rector, Dr. Ediri Emmanuel Agada, cited NBTE accreditation of more ND and HND programmes and asked for support to build the access road to the polytechnic’s permanent site (FEDPOD news). A young school means a short admission history, so there are fewer past figures to go on than at older polytechnics.
Computer Engineering subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | Computer Engineering (ND), polytechnic brochure |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry |
| FEDPOD remark | None in the brochure |
| O’level rule | Five credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus any two of Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics or Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography, Economics or Commerce |
| English Language | Credit compulsory |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (SSCE or GCE), at most two sittings |
| Direct Entry | Not used for ND |
These subjects match Electrical and Electronics Engineering at FEDPOD exactly. That is useful: if you register Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, you are eligible for both courses, and your choice between them can follow what JAMB’s list allows. Of the two extra O’level credits, one should be English, and Further Mathematics or Basic Electronics makes a strong second.
How to apply for Computer Engineering at FEDPOD if JAMB lists it, and if it does not
Route 1: Computer Engineering shows under FEDPOD on JAMB
Choose Computer Engineering and Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, register English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and follow the steps further down. Nothing else changes.
Route 2: it does not show
- Choose Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at FEDPOD. It is on the list, uses the same subjects and sits in the same school. Our Fed Poly Ohodo Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut-off mark guide covers it in full.
- Ask FEDPOD how it fills Computer Engineering. Email admissions@fedpod.edu.ng before the form closes and ask whether candidates who chose Electrical and Electronics can be considered for Computer Engineering. Polytechnics can offer a candidate a different course on CAPS, which the candidate then accepts or rejects, but FEDPOD has not said it does this for Computer Engineering.
- Or choose Computer Engineering at a school that has it on JAMB’s list. JAMB’s polytechnic brochure carries Computer Engineering remarks for schools such as Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Yaba College of Technology and Federal Polytechnic Ilaro. Nekede, in Owerri, is the nearest to Enugu among those.
I would not pick FEDPOD’s Computer Science as a stand-in unless you want computing more than hardware. It is a different course, and its UTME rule differs too: Mathematics plus two of Geography, Physics, Economics and Chemistry. See our Fed Poly Ohodo Computer Science cut-off mark guide for the details.
Safe target score for Computer Engineering at FEDPOD (my advice)
FEDPOD has never published a score band. Computer Engineering draws the same strong science candidates as Electrical and Electronics, and places in a new department are few. These bands are my judgement for planning only.
| Your UTME score | My read for Computer Engineering at FEDPOD |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any polytechnic |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible; rely on early application and complete documents |
| 120 to 129 | Possible |
| 130 to 149 | Competitive |
| 150 and above | Strong |
Worked example
FEDPOD has not published an aggregate formula, so this example only measures score gaps and checks subjects.
Somadina scored 137 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Basic Electronics from one WAEC sitting. At registration, the CBT centre finds no Computer Engineering under FEDPOD.
- Eligibility: 137 minus 100 = 37. Well clear of the floor.
- Against my safe target: 137 minus 130 = 7. Competitive.
- Subjects: exactly the Computer Engineering and Electrical and Electronics combination.
- What I would advise: register Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at FEDPOD, email the admissions office about Computer Engineering, and accept whichever of the two FEDPOD offers on CAPS. If he wants Computer Engineering only, he should pick a polytechnic that has it on JAMB’s list.
FEDPOD screening and admission steps
FEDPOD’s notices list programmes and contacts but give no form fee, test format or document rules. The 2026/2027 portal opened for ND and HND, full-time and part-time, in late May 2026, according to the reprinted notice.
| Detail | What we know | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who applies | Candidates who chose FEDPOD in the UTME and scored at least the JAMB minimum | Standard JAMB rule |
| Where | portal.fedpod.edu.ng | Official (FEDPOD notice, 17 November 2025) |
| 2026/2027 portal | Opened for ND and HND, full-time and part-time, from late May 2026 | Registrar’s notice as reprinted by Campusinfo (24 May 2026) and Schoolnews (26 May 2026) |
| Form fee | Not published | Check the portal |
| Screening method (test or document review) | Not published | Check the portal and admissions@fedpod.edu.ng |
| Acceptance and school fees | Not published | Pay only against a portal invoice |
| Admission deadline for polytechnics (2026/2027) | Runs until 31 December 2026 | Official (JAMB, via NAN) |
| Time to accept an offer on CAPS | Four weeks | Official (JAMB, via NAN) |
The steps below assume Route 1. On Route 2, choose Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology wherever a step says Computer Engineering.
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Check FEDPOD’s course list on JAMB: when you register, open Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on JAMB’s e-brochure and confirm Computer Engineering shows under it.
- Register for the UTME: choose Computer Engineering, register English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and pick Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo as your polytechnic choice. If you chose another school, a JAMB change of institution is possible before FEDPOD closes its form, and a JAMB change of course fixes a wrong course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded at an accredited CBT centre. No school can recommend you on CAPS without it.
- Apply on FEDPOD’s portal: when the admission notice is out, create an account on portal.fedpod.edu.ng, fill the ND form, pay through the invoice the portal generates and print your slip. Use an email address and phone number you check daily.
- Check your status: watch the FEDPOD portal, then log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and open CAPS.
- Accept within four weeks: JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept 2026 offers. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: FEDPOD has not published its acceptance or school fees. Pay only through invoices generated on the FEDPOD portal, and keep every receipt for clearance.
Warning
Every genuine FEDPOD offer appears on JAMB CAPS. Anyone selling a “Fed Poly Ohodo admission slot” is outside the process. Pay fees only through invoices generated on portal.fedpod.edu.ng, and send questions to admissions@fedpod.edu.ng.
What Computer Engineering covers and where it leads
Computer engineering sits between electronics and computing. At ND level you learn how computer hardware works and how to build, test, network and repair it. FEDPOD has not put its course outline online, so the list below describes what the ND generally covers in Nigerian polytechnics.
- Electronics and digital logic: the circuits computers are built from.
- Computer hardware and maintenance: assembling, testing and repairing machines.
- Programming: introductory languages and microcontroller programming.
- Networking: cabling, routers and basic network setup.
- Engineering mathematics and drawing: the foundation for all of the above.
- Practical work: a SIWES placement with an ICT, telecom or engineering firm.
Accreditation
FEDPOD’s 2026/2027 admission notice, as reprinted by Campusinfo and Schoolnews, says all its programmes are approved and accredited by NBTE, and the Rector cited NBTE accreditation of more ND and HND programmes at the May 2026 matriculation. NBTE has not published a dated result for Computer Engineering at FEDPOD that I could find, so its individual status is not confirmed. Ask the department to show the accreditation letter during clearance.
Careers
- Computer hardware and maintenance technician
- Network support technician
- ICT support in banks, schools and offices
- Electronics and embedded systems assistant
- Further study to HND or a degree in computer engineering
FEDPOD’s HND is in Electrical and Electronics Engineering only, in Power and Machine and in Electronics and Telecommunications according to the 2026/2027 notice. A Computer Engineering ND graduate who wants HND in the same field will likely need another polytechnic. See the Fed Poly Ohodo HND admission requirements guide.

Mistakes to avoid
- Choosing a course JAMB does not list under FEDPOD: check the e-brochure first.
- Writing Biology instead of Chemistry: the brochure gives FEDPOD no waiver.
- No English credit: it is compulsory at O’level for Computer Engineering.
- Rejecting a FEDPOD offer in a related course too quickly: ask the department about transfer rules first.
- Paying anyone for a “Computer Engineering slot”: offers come only through CAPS.
