Fed Poly Ohodo Statistics Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

The Fed Poly Ohodo Statistics cut off mark is JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100, but Statistics is not on JAMB’s course list for FEDPOD. See what that means, the usual subjects, my safe target and the Enugu alternatives.

The Fed Poly Ohodo Statistics cut off mark is 100 in the UTME, JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (FEDPOD) has not published a departmental figure for ND Statistics, so 100 is the only official number, and it only makes you eligible to apply.

2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Before you plan around that number, read this. Fed Poly Ohodo advertised ND Statistics in its official 2025/2026 notice and again in its 2026/2027 notice, but Statistics is not on JAMB’s course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, as Myschool reprints it. That list has only two courses: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. Unless JAMB adds Statistics for the polytechnic, a UTME candidate cannot be offered it through CAPS. Check the live JAMB e-brochure when you register, and look at the alternatives further down: the two courses FEDPOD does have on JAMB’s list, and the same course at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY.

Below are the cut-off history, my safe target, the usual Statistics subject rules (JAMB’s Statistics page is blank on the reprint), the screening details that exist, worked examples, the CAPS steps and the alternatives.

Is Statistics on Fed Poly Ohodo’s JAMB course list?

No, not on the reprint I checked on 29 October 2026. Myschool’s copy of the JAMB institution course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (shown as FPO) has exactly two entries, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. The polytechnic itself lists ND Statistics in the 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng, and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool repeats it. Statistics was not among the three programmes the Rector said in April 2025 had been mounted and accredited (SLT, Computer Science and Public Administration); it first appears in the November 2025 notice.

Here is what that means for a UTME candidate. Every polytechnic admission now goes through JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. CAPS can only carry an offer for a course JAMB has approved for that school. If Statistics is still missing from FEDPOD’s list when you register, you cannot pick it, and FEDPOD cannot offer it to you on CAPS. A reprint can lag behind a young school, so the list may change, but nobody should plan on that.

  • When you register for the 2027 UTME, search for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on JAMB’s e-brochure and see whether Statistics appears. If it does, choose it and the rest of this page applies.
  • If it does not, contact the admissions office (admissions@fedpod.edu.ng, 08160290499, 09077772977) before you register and ask whether JAMB has approved the course for the school. Do not pay for a FEDPOD form for this course until the answer is clear.
  • If it is still not listed, choose a course FEDPOD does have on JAMB’s list that fits your subjects (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry fit Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology; Mathematics, Biology and Physics fit Science Laboratory Technology), or choose Statistics at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY, where it is on JAMB’s list.
  • Refuse any “arrangement” that skips CAPS. An offer that never appears on CAPS cannot be regularised later.

Not on JAMB’s list for FEDPOD

Statistics is advertised by Fed Poly Ohodo but is missing from its JAMB course list as reprinted by Myschool. Unless JAMB adds it, you cannot be offered it through CAPS. Confirm it on the JAMB e-brochure before you register or pay for anything.

Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark history for Statistics

Fed Poly Ohodo has not published a departmental cut-off for Statistics in any session I could trace. The figures that exist are the national floors JAMB sets for every polytechnic.

SessionFigureWhat it isStatus
2026/2027100JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnicsOfficial (NAN, 11 May 2026)

Any yearNot publishedFed Poly Ohodo departmental cut-off for StatisticsNo figure on fedpod.edu.ng or in the reprinted notices

Statistics is a newer course at FEDPOD than SLT or Computer Science, so there is no admission history at all to work from. Treat any “Ohodo Statistics cut-off” you see on a blog as invented.

Safe target score for Statistics at Fed Poly Ohodo (my advice)

Statistics draws fewer applicants than Computer Science or Accountancy at most South East polytechnics, because few candidates put it first. The bands below are my judgement and are for planning only.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Statistics at FEDPOD
Below 100Not eligible for any polytechnic
100 to 109Eligible to apply; Mathematics credit is the deciding factor
110 to 119Possible
120 to 139Competitive
140 and aboveStrong for ND Statistics at FEDPOD

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 120. That score is also enough to be considered for Statistics at IMT or ESPOLY, which matters while the FEDPOD listing is unresolved.

Catchment and state of origin

Federal polytechnics admit from every state, and FEDPOD has not published a catchment or merit split. Your score and your Mathematics grade count for more than where you come from.

Fed Poly Ohodo Statistics subject combination and O’level requirements

JAMB’s polytechnic brochure entry for Statistics, as reprinted by Myschool, loads with empty UTME, O’level and Direct Entry sections. I cannot quote JAMB’s line or confirm whether there is a FEDPOD remark. The table below uses the published rules of two federal polytechnics that run ND Statistics, which is the closest verified guide to the usual pattern.

RequirementUsual ND Statistics patternSource
UTME subjectsEnglish and Mathematics, plus two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics/Commerce, Geography, Computer Studies/ICT, Government/Civic Education, Biology/Agricultural ScienceFed Poly Offa Statistics page
O’level coreCredits (C6 or better) in English Language and MathematicsFed Poly Offa; Fed Poly Ilaro
O’level scienceAt least one of Physics, Chemistry, Computer Studies/ICT, Biology, Agricultural Science and similar subjectsFed Poly Offa; Ilaro asks for “a basic Science”
Other creditsTwo more, for example Economics, Geography, Government or Further MathematicsFed Poly Offa; Fed Poly Ilaro
FEDPOD ruleNot publishedNo FEDPOD requirement page I could open
Direct EntryNot used for NDND entry is through the UTME and CAPS

In practice, the safest UTME combination for Statistics is English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics, or English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Both fit the Offa pattern, and the second also fits Electrical/Electronics Engineering at FEDPOD if you need to switch. Whatever you choose, confirm the line on JAMB’s e-brochure when you register.

A strong Mathematics grade matters more here than in most ND courses. The first year is mostly probability, descriptive statistics and calculus, and a C6 in Mathematics leaves you little margin.

Sittings, awaiting results and HND

FEDPOD has not published a sittings rule; plan on two sittings at most. You can register for the UTME while awaiting results, but no offer can go on CAPS until the result is uploaded. FEDPOD did not advertise HND Statistics for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027. Elsewhere, HND Statistics normally needs an ND at lower credit or better plus a year of industrial training; Fed Poly Offa states that rule.

How Fed Poly Ohodo screens ND Statistics candidates

Fed Poly Ohodo announces admissions but publishes very little about how it ranks applicants. The official 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng (17 November 2025) and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026) list the programmes and send applicants to the portal. Neither gives a form fee, a closing date or a screening format. So the honest position is that we know the gate (JAMB’s 100 and your O’level) and not the ranking method.

Worked examples for Statistics applicants

FEDPOD has not published an aggregate formula, so these examples check the score gap and the subjects only. The subject check uses the Offa pattern above.

Uche scored 124 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics. From one WAEC sitting he has C6 in English, B2 in Mathematics, C5 in Physics, C4 in Economics, C6 in Geography and C5 in Biology.

  1. Eligibility: 124 minus 100 = 24. He clears JAMB’s minimum.
  2. Against my safe target: 124 minus 120 = 4. He is in the competitive band.
  3. UTME subjects: Mathematics plus Economics and Physics fit the usual pattern.
  4. O’level: English and Mathematics are credits, Physics is his science, and Economics and Geography cover the other two.
  5. Listing check: if Statistics is still missing under FEDPOD on JAMB, he cannot pick it there. His subjects do not fit EEE (no Chemistry) or SLT (no Biology in the UTME), so Statistics at IMT or ESPOLY is his realistic route.

Adaeze scored 131 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Further Mathematics. Her subjects fit Statistics and also fit Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at FEDPOD, which is on JAMB’s list. If Statistics is still unlisted for FEDPOD, she can choose EEE at Ohodo or Statistics at IMT, depending on which matters more to her: the school or the course.

How to apply for Statistics at Fed Poly Ohodo, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Confirm the course on JAMB: check whether Statistics appears under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on the e-brochure. If it does not, follow the alternatives on this page instead of choosing it.
  3. Register the right subjects: English, Mathematics and two of Economics, Physics, Chemistry or Geography follow the usual pattern; confirm on JAMB’s e-brochure. If you picked another school first, a JAMB change of institution is possible while the polytechnic is still admitting, and a JAMB change of course fixes a wrong course.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to an accredited CBT centre and have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded. No institution can recommend you on CAPS without it.
  5. Fill the Fed Poly Ohodo form: when the admission notice appears on fedpod.edu.ng, apply on portal.fedpod.edu.ng. Use an email address and phone number you check daily, and print every receipt and acknowledgement page.
  6. Check your status: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and open CAPS. Also watch the polytechnic portal for its own list.
  7. Accept within four weeks: JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept 2026 offers. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Ohodo has not published its acceptance or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only against an invoice generated on the polytechnic portal.

Every genuine offer appears on JAMB CAPS. Anyone selling a FEDPOD Statistics place is outside the process.

Your chances of getting Statistics at Fed Poly Ohodo

If JAMB lists the course for FEDPOD, your chances are good with the right subjects and 120 or more, because Statistics rarely fills as fast as Computer Science or Accountancy. The real obstacle is the listing. Until Statistics appears under FEDPOD on JAMB’s system, the course cannot be offered to UTME candidates through CAPS, however good their score.

Studying Statistics at Fed Poly Ohodo

ND Statistics is a two-year full-time programme with SIWES. FEDPOD has not put its outline online. The topics below follow the ND Statistics course list Fed Poly Offa publishes, which uses the NBTE curriculum.

What you study

  • Core statistics: descriptive statistics, elementary probability and statistical theory.
  • Applied areas: demography, economic and social statistics, industrial statistics and biostatistics.
  • Sampling and experiments: sampling theory and techniques, and design and analysis of experiments.
  • Mathematics: logic, linear algebra, calculus and mathematical methods.
  • Computing: computer packages, data management, data mining and data analytics.
  • Practical work: SIWES placement and a final project.

Accreditation

Statistics was not among the three programmes the Rector named in April 2025, so it was mounted after the others. The 2026/2027 notice, as reprinted, says all the programmes it lists are approved and accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). At the third matriculation on 22 May 2026, the Rector, Dr Ediri Emmanuel Agada, also cited NBTE accreditation of additional ND and HND programmes. NBTE has not published a programme-by-programme result for Fed Poly Ohodo that I could find, so the exact status and date for Statistics are not confirmed. Ask the department to show the current NBTE letter during clearance.

Careers

  • Statistical assistant in the National Bureau of Statistics, state statistics offices and ministries
  • Data entry and data analysis assistant in banks, insurance firms and research companies
  • Monitoring and evaluation assistant with NGOs and health programmes
  • Market research field officer
  • HND Statistics, or Direct Entry into a Statistics degree

The profession is regulated by the Chartered Institute of Statisticians of Nigeria (CISON). Check its membership grades when you finish your ND.

About the polytechnic

Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo is in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, beside Ohodo Bus Stop along the Opi to 9th Mile road, and it is the only federal polytechnic in the state. It is young: it held its third matriculation on 22 May 2026. In an April 2025 interview with Blueprint, the Rector said the school ran only Electrical and Electronics Engineering when he took office, and that it then mounted Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science and Public Administration. At the 2026 matriculation he asked for help building the access road to the permanent site. Blueprint also reported a finished science building and business school building, with the hostel, library and refectory about 80% complete at the time. Expect a small campus that is still being built up.

For the UTME, our JAMB Chemistry syllabus and JAMB Biology syllabus guides help if you choose either of those as your science or social science subject.

If you are writing the UTME again, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and see what to do with your JAMB score once results are out.

Alternatives to Fed Poly Ohodo for Statistics in Enugu State

If Statistics does not show under Fed Poly Ohodo when you register, or the admissions office cannot tell you how it admits into the course, these Enugu State schools are the realistic alternatives.

SchoolTypeWhy it is an option
Fed Poly Ohodo: Electrical/Electronics Engineering TechnologySame polytechnic, on JAMB’s listUTME Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. See our Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Fed Poly Ohodo: Science Laboratory TechnologySame polytechnic, on JAMB’s listUTME any three of Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics. See our Fed Poly Ohodo Science Laboratory Technology cut-off mark.
IMT EnuguState polytechnicStatistics is on its JAMB list (Myschool reprint). See our IMT Statistics guide.
Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo (ESPOLY)State polytechnicStatistics is on its JAMB list as reprinted by Myschool

If Statistics is what you want, IMT or ESPOLY is the cleaner choice. If Fed Poly Ohodo is what you want, pick the listed course your UTME subjects fit.

Mistakes that cost Statistics applicants a FEDPOD place

  • Choosing an unlisted course: if Statistics is not under FEDPOD on JAMB, CAPS cannot carry the offer.
  • Paying for a form first: settle the listing question before you buy the FEDPOD form.
  • A weak Mathematics credit: it is compulsory and carries the course.
  • Trusting blog cut-offs: FEDPOD has never published one for Statistics.
  • No O’level upload on CAPS: no school can recommend you without it.

Fed Poly Ohodo Statistics cut off mark: frequently asked questions

What is the cut off mark for Statistics in Federal Polytechnic Ohodo? It is 100, JAMB’s 2026 minimum for polytechnics. FEDPOD has not published its own figure, so I would aim for 120 or more.

Which schools in Enugu offer Statistics on JAMB? IMT Enugu and Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo both have Statistics on their JAMB course lists as reprinted by Myschool.

Sources and updates

The 100 minimum for polytechnics in 2026, the 31 December 2026 admission deadline for the 2026/2027 cycle, the four-week acceptance window and the warning that admissions outside CAPS are illegal come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 minimum of 100 is from Nairametrics and Channels TV (8 July 2025). The 2025/2026 programme list, portal and contacts are from the polytechnic’s official admission notice (17 November 2025), and the 2026/2027 list and NBTE statement from the notice as reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026). The course list JAMB shows for the school is from Myschool’s Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo course list, checked on 29 October 2026. Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure entry for Statistics was blank when checked on 29 October 2026. The usual subject pattern and course topics are from Federal Polytechnic Offa’s Statistics page, and the O’level pattern also from Federal Polytechnic Ilaro’s Mathematics and Statistics admission page. The Rector’s remarks on programmes and facilities are from Blueprint (9 April 2025) and the polytechnic’s matriculation report (22 May 2026). Form fees, screening format and acceptance fees have not been published. The safe target scores and the worked examples are my own advice. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Ohodo publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
