Fed Poly Ohodo Public Administration Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

The Fed Poly Ohodo Public Administration cut off mark is JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100, but the course is not on JAMB’s course list for FEDPOD. See what that means, the UTME line, the Mathematics credit rule and alternatives.

The Fed Poly Ohodo Public Administration cut off mark is 100 in the UTME, JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (FEDPOD) has not published a departmental figure for ND Public Administration, so 100 is the official floor, and scoring it makes you eligible to apply, nothing more.

2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Before you plan around that number, read this. Fed Poly Ohodo advertised ND Public Administration in its official 2025/2026 notice and again in its 2026/2027 notice, but Public Administration is not on JAMB’s course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, as Myschool reprints it. That list has only two courses: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. Unless JAMB adds Public Administration for the polytechnic, a UTME candidate cannot be offered it through CAPS. Check the live JAMB e-brochure when you register, and look at the alternatives further down: the two courses FEDPOD does have on JAMB’s list, and the same course at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY.

Below are the cut-off history, my safe target, the JAMB brochure rules (including an unusual UTME line), the screening details that exist, worked examples, the CAPS steps and the alternatives in Enugu.

Is Public Administration on Fed Poly Ohodo’s JAMB course list?

No, not on the reprint I checked on 29 October 2026. Myschool’s copy of the JAMB institution course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (shown as FPO) has exactly two entries, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. The polytechnic itself lists ND Public Administration in the 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng, and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool repeats it. This one is odd, because Public Administration is one of FEDPOD’s older courses: the Rector told Blueprint in April 2025 that it was among the first three programmes mounted and accredited after Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Here is what that means for a UTME candidate. Every polytechnic admission now goes through JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. CAPS can only carry an offer for a course JAMB has approved for that school. If Public Administration is still missing from FEDPOD’s list when you register, you cannot pick it, and FEDPOD cannot offer it to you on CAPS. A reprint can lag behind a young school, so the list may change, but nobody should plan on that.

  • When you register for the 2027 UTME, search for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on JAMB’s e-brochure and see whether Public Administration appears. If it does, choose it and the rest of this page applies.
  • If it does not, contact the admissions office (admissions@fedpod.edu.ng, 08160290499, 09077772977) before you register and ask whether JAMB has approved the course for the school. Do not pay for a FEDPOD form for this course until the answer is clear.
  • If it is still not listed, neither listed FEDPOD course (Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or Science Laboratory Technology) fits an arts or social science combination, so the practical move is Public Administration at IMT Enugu, where it is on JAMB’s list.
  • Refuse any “arrangement” that skips CAPS. An offer that never appears on CAPS cannot be regularised later.

Not on JAMB’s list for FEDPOD

Public Administration is advertised by Fed Poly Ohodo but is missing from its JAMB course list as reprinted by Myschool. Unless JAMB adds it, you cannot be offered it through CAPS. Confirm it on the JAMB e-brochure before you register or pay for anything.

Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark history for Public Administration

Fed Poly Ohodo has not published a departmental cut-off for Public Administration in any session I could trace. The figures that exist are the national floors JAMB sets for every polytechnic.

SessionFigureWhat it isStatus
2026/2027100JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnicsOfficial (NAN, 11 May 2026)

Any yearNot publishedFed Poly Ohodo departmental cut-off for Public AdministrationNo figure on fedpod.edu.ng or in the reprinted notices

FEDPOD has not released admission lists with scores for Public Administration, so there is no way to work out a past departmental cut-off. Ignore any figure that does not come from the polytechnic.

Safe target score for Public Administration at Fed Poly Ohodo (my advice)

Public Administration attracts many arts and social science candidates, but polytechnic intakes for it are usually large. The bands below are my judgement and are for planning only.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Public Administration at FEDPOD
Below 100Not eligible for any polytechnic
100 to 109Eligible to apply; English and Mathematics credits decide it
110 to 119Possible
120 to 139Competitive
140 and aboveStrong for ND Public Administration at FEDPOD

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 120, which also keeps you in range for Public Administration at IMT Enugu.

Catchment and state of origin

Federal polytechnics admit from every state. FEDPOD has not published a catchment or merit split, so your score and credits decide your chances more than your state.

Fed Poly Ohodo Public Administration subject combination and O’level requirements

RequirementND Public Administration (JAMB polytechnic brochure)
UTME subjects (as reprinted)Use of English plus Government, History and Economics
FEDPOD remark (UTME)None in the brochure
Combination that fits the line exactlyEnglish, Government, History, Economics
O’levelFive credits in English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand
FEDPOD remark (O’level)None in the brochure
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (SSCE or GCE)
Direct EntryNot used for ND; ND entry is through the UTME and CAPS

The UTME line is unusual. Myschool’s reprint names Government, History and Economics with no “two of” or “any of”, which reads as all three. Other schools have remarks widening it: Nekede accepts Mathematics with Geography or Literature, Yaba Tech wants Mathematics and Government, and IMT wants Literature in English and CRS with Principles of Accounts or Commerce. FEDPOD has no remark. Candidates elsewhere often write Government, Economics and CRS or Literature, and JAMB’s own e-brochure may say “Government/History”, so check it when you register. If you want zero doubt, register English, Government, History and Economics.

Mathematics is not in the UTME line, but a Mathematics credit is compulsory at O’level. That catches a lot of arts students. A D7 in Mathematics needs a NECO or WAEC GCE resit before screening.

Sittings, awaiting results and HND

FEDPOD has not published a sittings rule and has no remark in the brochure, so plan on two sittings at most, as Yaba Tech and others require. You can sit the UTME while awaiting results, but CAPS cannot carry an offer until the result is uploaded. FEDPOD did not advertise HND Public Administration for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027.

How Fed Poly Ohodo screens ND Public Administration candidates

Fed Poly Ohodo announces admissions but publishes very little about how it ranks applicants. The official 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng (17 November 2025) and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026) list the programmes and send applicants to the portal. Neither gives a form fee, a closing date or a screening format. So the honest position is that we know the gate (JAMB’s 100 and your O’level) and not the ranking method.

Worked examples for Public Administration applicants

FEDPOD has not published an aggregate formula, so these examples check the score gap and the subjects only.

Ngozi scored 126 in English, Government, History and Economics. From one WAEC sitting she has C5 in English, C6 in Mathematics, B3 in Government, C4 in Economics, C5 in CRS and C6 in Literature in English.

  1. Eligibility: 126 minus 100 = 26. She clears JAMB’s minimum.
  2. Against my safe target: 126 minus 120 = 6. She is competitive.
  3. UTME subjects: Government, History and Economics match the reprinted line exactly.
  4. O’level: English and Mathematics are credits, and Government, Economics and Literature cover the other three.
  5. Listing check: if Public Administration is still missing under FEDPOD on JAMB, she should choose it at IMT Enugu. IMT’s remark asks for Literature and CRS in the UTME, so her History combination may not fit there; she should read the IMT entry before choosing.

Tochukwu scored 131 in English, Government, Economics and Literature in English. His score is good, but his O’level has a D7 in Mathematics. Mathematics is a compulsory credit for Public Administration, so no polytechnic can admit him on that result. A NECO or WAEC GCE resit, uploaded to CAPS before screening, fixes it.

How to apply for Public Administration at Fed Poly Ohodo, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Confirm the course on JAMB: check whether Public Administration appears under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on the e-brochure. If it does not, choose it at a school where it is listed.
  3. Register the right subjects: English, Government, History and Economics fit the reprinted line; check the e-brochure if you want to use CRS or Literature instead. If you picked another school first, a JAMB change of institution is possible while the polytechnic is still admitting, and a JAMB change of course fixes a wrong course.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to an accredited CBT centre and have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded. No institution can recommend you on CAPS without it.
  5. Fill the Fed Poly Ohodo form: when the admission notice appears on fedpod.edu.ng, apply on portal.fedpod.edu.ng. Use an email address and phone number you check daily, and print every receipt and acknowledgement page.
  6. Check your status: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and open CAPS. Also watch the polytechnic portal for its own list.
  7. Accept within four weeks: JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept 2026 offers. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Ohodo has not published its acceptance or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only against an invoice generated on the polytechnic portal.

Every genuine offer appears on JAMB CAPS. Anyone selling a FEDPOD Public Administration place is outside the process.

Your chances of getting Public Administration at Fed Poly Ohodo

If JAMB lists the course for FEDPOD when you register, a candidate with the right subjects, a Mathematics credit and 120 or more has a good chance. Public Administration was already running when the Rector spoke to Blueprint in April 2025, so the department is not brand new. Until it appears on JAMB’s list for the school, though, a UTME candidate cannot be offered it through CAPS, however strong the result.

Studying Public Administration at Fed Poly Ohodo

ND Public Administration is a two-year full-time programme with SIWES, in the NBTE pattern. FEDPOD has not put its course outline online, so the list below is the general pattern.

What you study

  • Administration: principles of public administration, administrative theory and organisation.
  • Government: Nigerian government and politics, the constitution and local government administration.
  • Public finance: government budgeting and public finance.
  • People and records: personnel management, office management and records.
  • Supporting courses: economics, business mathematics, statistics, computing and communication in English.
  • Practical work: SIWES in a ministry, agency or local government, and a final project.

Accreditation

The Rector told Blueprint in April 2025 that Public Administration was one of three programmes mounted and accredited after an NBTE quality assurance visit. The 2026/2027 notice, as reprinted, says all the programmes it lists are approved and accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). At the third matriculation on 22 May 2026, the Rector, Dr Ediri Emmanuel Agada, also cited NBTE accreditation of additional ND and HND programmes. NBTE has not published a programme-by-programme result for Fed Poly Ohodo that I could find, so the exact status and date for Public Administration are not confirmed. Ask the department to show the current NBTE letter during clearance.

Careers

  • Administrative officer or clerk in ministries, agencies and local governments
  • Office and records assistant in schools, hospitals and companies
  • Assistant in electoral, census and community programmes
  • Personnel or HR assistant
  • HND Public Administration, or Direct Entry into a related degree

About the polytechnic

Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo is in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, beside Ohodo Bus Stop along the Opi to 9th Mile road, and it is the only federal polytechnic in the state. It is young: it held its third matriculation on 22 May 2026. In an April 2025 interview with Blueprint, the Rector said the school ran only Electrical and Electronics Engineering when he took office, and that it then mounted Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science and Public Administration. At the 2026 matriculation he asked for help building the access road to the permanent site. Blueprint also reported a finished science building and business school building, with the hostel, library and refectory about 80% complete at the time. Expect a small campus that is still being built up.

If you are thinking of switching to Accountancy, note that it needs Mathematics in the UTME, which this course does not. Check the Business Administration page for its own rule.

If you are writing the UTME again, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and see what to do with your JAMB score once results are out.

Alternatives to Fed Poly Ohodo for Public Administration in Enugu State

If Public Administration does not show under Fed Poly Ohodo when you register, or the admissions office cannot tell you how it admits into the course, these Enugu State schools are the realistic alternatives.

SchoolTypeWhy it is an option
IMT EnuguState polytechnicPublic Administration is on JAMB’s list for IMT; its brochure remark asks for Literature in English and CRS with Principles of Accounts or Commerce. See our IMT Public Administration guide.
Federal Cooperative College, Oji RiverFederal college (ND and HND)Reported admitting into Public Administration; its JAMB listing was not confirmed. See our FCC Oji River Public Administration guide.
Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo (ESPOLY)State polytechnicA blog reports ND Public Administration there, but it is not on ESPOLY’s JAMB list as reprinted by Myschool; confirm before choosing

Fed Poly Ohodo’s two listed courses (Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology) need science subjects, so they do not suit most Public Administration candidates.

Mistakes that cost Public Administration applicants a FEDPOD place

  • Choosing an unlisted course: if Public Administration is not under FEDPOD on JAMB, CAPS cannot carry the offer.
  • Ignoring Mathematics: it is not a UTME subject here but it is a compulsory O’level credit.
  • Using Literature for English: the O’level credit must be in English Language.
  • Assuming any arts combination works: check the e-brochure if you did not write Government, History and Economics.
  • No O’level upload on CAPS: no school can recommend you without it.

Fed Poly Ohodo Public Administration cut off mark: frequently asked questions

What is the cut off mark for Public Administration in Federal Polytechnic Ohodo? It is 100, JAMB’s 2026 minimum for polytechnics. FEDPOD has not published its own figure, so I would aim for 120 or more.

Can I choose Public Administration in Fed Poly Ohodo on JAMB? Not according to the course list Myschool reprints, which shows only EEE and SLT. Unless JAMB adds it, you cannot be offered it through CAPS, so check the e-brochure when you register.

What are the JAMB subjects for Public Administration in polytechnic? The brochure as reprinted lists English with Government, History and Economics. Some schools accept other combinations by remark, but FEDPOD has none.

Do I need Mathematics for Public Administration? Yes, at O’level. A credit in Mathematics is compulsory even though it is not one of the UTME subjects.

Sources and updates

The 100 minimum for polytechnics in 2026, the 31 December 2026 admission deadline for the 2026/2027 cycle, the four-week acceptance window and the warning that admissions outside CAPS are illegal come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 minimum of 100 is from Nairametrics and Channels TV (8 July 2025). The 2025/2026 programme list, portal and contacts are from the polytechnic’s official admission notice (17 November 2025), and the 2026/2027 list and NBTE statement from the notice as reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026). The course list JAMB shows for the school is from Myschool’s Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo course list, checked on 29 October 2026. The UTME subjects, O’level list and the remarks for other schools, including IMT, are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure entry for Public Administration, also checked on 29 October 2026. The ESPOLY note is from a blog report and ESPOLY’s JAMB list as reprinted by Myschool. The Rector’s remarks on programmes and facilities are from Blueprint (9 April 2025) and the polytechnic’s matriculation report (22 May 2026). Form fees, screening format and acceptance fees have not been published. The safe target scores and the worked examples are my own advice. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Ohodo publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
